Up for grabs: Arielle Shoshana Weekenders Set

Posted by Robin on 17 December 2019 47 Comments — Comments are closed

What is it: an Arielle Shoshana Weekenders set, with 10 ml bottles of Arielle Shoshana Saturday and Arielle Shoshana Sunday. The bottles are unused and courtesy of Arielle Shoshana.

Who can enter: Anyone, anywhere in the world, who has commented here on at least two posts (not including freebiemeets, swapmeets or splitmeets), between January 1, 2018 and December 15, 2019.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment below telling me either a) what day of the week you hope Arielle Shoshana will translate into fragrance next, and what it should smell like, or b) your favorite weekend fragrance or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Boxing Day (December 26), and I'll announce the winner on January 2.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple of weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. It's possible I will mail your prize promptly — stranger things have happened — but it's more likely that I will not mail your package until late January. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or seized by customs or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

What a great giveaway, thanks for the chance! I haven’t tried any of these.
I’d like to see a Friday daytime scent, a green floral that helps you power through the last day of the work week with a little patchouli and incense in the base as a reminder that you’re almost there.

I’ve been dying to try the Saturday of this duo ever since I heard about it.
I would love a lavender patchouli with some citrus on top. For anyway of the week, to be worn under stressful circumstances.

Thanks for such a great giveaway!
I would like to see a scent for Monday, because it is really hard to start another week, especially when you have to be back at work. It would have to something cheerful and comfy at the same time.

  4. Kelly Red says:
    17 December 2019 at 12:27 pm

Oh I’d love to try both of these, especially Sunday. I’d like to see her do Wednesday. Something to power us through the remaining days of the week. Bright, fresh and uplifting, maybe a sweet citrus scent rounded out with vanilla or almond?
Currently I’m going mega cozy in Sage Onyx, combined with warm slippers as I finish my house tasks.

Thanks for the chance to enter, Robin! I hope Ari does Friday (Night) next, as a bubbly fizzy party scent. That could be great.

  6. neyronrose says:
    17 December 2019 at 12:53 pm

Good afternoon, and thank you. I’ll also vote for Friday, and a cheerful lavender/citrus.

  7. tannina says:
    17 December 2019 at 12:58 pm

I would love to win those, because they are not easy to sample in Germany. I think i would like a scent for monday. Something comforting with a little incense would be nice.

  8. ScentSpirit says:
    17 December 2019 at 1:08 pm

Maybe Friday night should be beeswax for the Sabbath Candles and incense?

  9. caffeinequeen says:
    17 December 2019 at 1:16 pm

Friday! Perhaps a riff on The Cure’s song “Friday I’m in Love”…something ultra-romantic, with notes of roses and vanilla. Something that feels like huddling under a cashmere blanket with your favorite person in the world.

  10. Lucy says:
    17 December 2019 at 3:00 pm

Tuesday, of course! I’m dying to know what Monday’s ugly little sister would smell like. :)

Thank you for this amazing giveaway Robin!

  11. PriscillaE says:
    17 December 2019 at 3:33 pm

I’m also thinking Friday, something with a citrusy floral, like a lemony rose. Anyway something to put on Friday morning to get through until the weekend.

    Thanks Robin and Arielle!

  12. bluepinegrove says:
    17 December 2019 at 4:10 pm

Wednesday’s perfume would be about balance. The base notes would be anchored with the weight of the past, the middle notes would reflect satisfaction with one’s accomplishments, and the top notes would inspire energy and optimism.

  13. SuddenlyInexplicably says:
    17 December 2019 at 4:27 pm

I have been dying to try Sunday because I’ve heard so many good things about it from various perfumistas. And because I think ScentSpirit’s idea for a Friday scent is so brilliant, I’m going to second a Friday Sabbath/end of the week scent. I’d love it to be spicy because I love spicy scents the most. Arielle is Jewish so maybe that would appeal to her, but of course she needs to find her own inspiration!

  14. Suzy Q says:
    17 December 2019 at 4:37 pm

Oh, this is so great and something I’ve been eyeing!
I suggest Monday. I envision it will be all business like, perhaps, Chanel 19 except 1) it will reflect Ari’s aesthetic and, 2) it will contain a note of comfort for the wearer who faces the work week ahead.

  15. Jalapeno says:
    17 December 2019 at 4:49 pm

Ooooooh neat! I’d like to see Ari do Monday. Either a coffee and incense scent, or maybe coffee and patchouli. Something that will wake a person up and then have a calming, grounding note.

  16. bastet says:
    17 December 2019 at 5:34 pm

Since she seems to going in order I think Monday should be next, something bright and cheerful (maybe citrus and neroli).

  17. Gi says:
    17 December 2019 at 5:41 pm

What a lovely giveaway! Friday seems a natural choice, but I’ll go with Thursday. The day that gets no attention, no songs for Thursday, no movies or poems but a day we all get just as regularly as all the others.

  18. chocolatemarzipan8 says:
    17 December 2019 at 5:52 pm

Thank you Robin for this giveaway!
I vote for Thursday… something pretty and soft with lilac, vanilla and sandalwood.

  19. mrsdarcy says:
    17 December 2019 at 7:41 pm

I’d like to see Thursdays. Thursdays aren’t usually very special or celebrated, but surprising things can happen on seemingly average days! So it would start off gentle then BAM change and surprise you.

  20. tracy.o says:
    17 December 2019 at 7:41 pm

    Hmmmm….

There’s a teashop where I live called Friday Afternoon, and I absolutely love the owner— she has synesthesia and bases a lot of her flavors on how words smell.

If I were basing a fragrance on a day of the week, it would be based on the smell of that particular teashop— aged oolongs, orange peel, oil paints, bergamot (the fruit) and bergamot (the teashop dog).

  21. AnnieA says:
    17 December 2019 at 7:51 pm

One vote for Tuesday. Best day to execute plans of revenge! Read that somewhere…

  22. LizzieB says:
    17 December 2019 at 11:38 pm

    Would love this…

I think I’m in the Monday camp. Something uplifting and energizing,

  23. Gabriela says:
    18 December 2019 at 4:13 am

What a lovely giveaway! And anywhere in the world is wonderful.
I would love to try Saturday because my daughter was born on a Saturday.
As my other daughter was born on a Thursday I would love a translation of that day into a scent. It could have the smell of motherhood…if such thing is possible.

  24. SarahN says:
    18 December 2019 at 6:38 am

How nice! The next scent should be Monday. It should smell like clouds and sadness.

  25. skye says:
    18 December 2019 at 7:59 am

What a nice giveaway! I’ll go for Monday with the smell of quiet desperation?, or something similarly melancholy and subdued.

  26. LunaGrrrl says:
    18 December 2019 at 10:24 am

What a lovely giveaway! I vote for a Friday fragrance, as Friday nights are the best part of the week. How about a fun night out party scent?

  27. tiffanie says:
    18 December 2019 at 10:34 am

Friday or Monday? hmm, one of those two days makes sense to me but which one to choose . . . I think Monday smells like a soft floral with a comfy base of warm woods. Thank you, Arielle and Robin, it’s really fun to think about what a day of the week could smell like. :D

  28. ockeghem says:
    18 December 2019 at 10:49 am

Oooh — great giveaway! I like the idea of a Monday scent with coffee, or maybe citrus to wake me up!

  29. jepster says:
    18 December 2019 at 10:50 am

Thanks for the generous draw! As a teen, my favorite was Friday night because there would always be a local dance with a live band somewhere in my locale. The excitement and anticipation was almost too much to bear. I remember wearing Love’s Fresh Lemon to many of those events, so something to evoke lemon, teen spirit, and hormones would be great!!

  30. madtowngirl says:
    18 December 2019 at 7:14 pm

I haven’t tried either of these, thank you for the chance!
I think Monday would probably be the next scent in the series. Since tea has already been done, I’m thinking either a coffee scent or orange citrus.

  31. Morag says:
    18 December 2019 at 8:58 pm

This is a little off-beat but I’d love to see a fragrance interperetation of the Thursday that starts off the Hitch-hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – earthy, grassy notes for the muddy garden, a whiff of diesel smoke from the bulldozers etc. Possibly not a good fit for Arielle’s aesthetic but could be fun :-)

  32. datura5750 says:
    19 December 2019 at 12:23 pm

    Tuesday! “Mondays Ugly Little Sister”!

  33. irisjasmine says:
    19 December 2019 at 2:54 pm

I would hope for an earthy Friday scent, probably heavy on the Vetiver. My synesthesia has always seen Friday as green, so I guess the grass association and comfort I get from Vetiver make me crave this!

  34. andshewaz says:
    19 December 2019 at 3:37 pm

My feedback would be for a Friday scent next.I am thinking sandalwood, clove and rose notes with possibly a steamed milk or bourbon vanilla note to smooth it all out.Thank you for the giveaway!

  35. Meg O. says:
    19 December 2019 at 6:14 pm

I thought I read somewhere that there was a coffee-related Monday on the way. If not…THAT. I haven’t totally loved a coffee scent I’ve tried, none are coffee-ish enough, and I think Ari could nail this for us! :)

  36. Nightingale says:
    19 December 2019 at 7:44 pm

I could see a Monday scent and along with others here think a coffee note would fit nicely.

  37. Stephanie says:
    19 December 2019 at 9:16 pm

I’d love to see a bright and cheerful orange blossom for Friday or a deeply calming lavender blend for Monday

  38. Omega says:
    20 December 2019 at 8:16 am

Oh man! I am wiping a lil drool off my mouth from this give away lol. Saturday is bomb and I just ran outta my sample:(. I have been so wanting to try Sunday and I am sure it’s fabulous. Saturday is the perfect passionfruit..love it and drained my two samples quickly. My birthday is early January too:). I hope to be the lucky birthday girl for this one lol.

For the next perfume, I am thinking a nice, jasmine and rice Thursday scent:).

  39. skalolazka says:
    20 December 2019 at 8:53 am

I think I am the second vote for Tuesday. It is often the day I am most tired (my Monday’s tend to be overscheduled), so I would want something soothing, a little bit restful, and also energizing. Lavender and coffee? Doesn’t sound too great to me, but may be a good perfumer could make it work. Or perhaps anise and coffee?

On weekends I reach for scents that are too assertive for work wear (I am with students and colleagues all the time during the week; one of my French colleagues rocks her Guerlains all week long, but I lack both her élan and her rank).

  40. GateGirl says:
    20 December 2019 at 9:44 am

Thanks for the draw. I am casting my vote for Sunday, something pleasant and breezy and relaxing (kinda like my BBW Plumeria. reminds me of a tropical island, sigh, if only….).

  41. Valentine says:
    21 December 2019 at 3:02 pm

I would love a joyful Friday perfume.

  42. Koyel says:
    21 December 2019 at 4:44 pm

Another vote for Thursday. It should balance the sensibility of a weeknight with the longing for weekend festivities. Something nice and staid in the top notes, something raunchy and a little office-inappropriate in the drydown.

  43. yasmina says:
    21 December 2019 at 5:31 pm

What about a Wednesday perfume? Something to power us through to the weekend. I’m thinking an orange vanilla would be really nice. Thanks for the great give away!

  44. KellyC says:
    22 December 2019 at 9:07 pm

I’m going with Thursday as well! And agree with Koyel, something almost sexy enough for a weekend, but not quite. ?

  45. Sapphire says:
    22 December 2019 at 9:42 pm

I would like to see a Monday scent. Something elegant like a woody iris. (I need more iris like I need a hole in my head, but I can’t help it).
    Thanks for the drawing!

  46. helenviolette says:
    25 December 2019 at 11:42 pm

My favorite weekend fragrance lately is Chanel No. 5 body oil! Thanks for the draw Robin!

  47. Coumarin says:
    26 December 2019 at 10:13 am

Ooo, hope I’m not too late! I’d love to see a Thursday scent. I don’t know what it should be but it’s my favorite day of the week!
