Happy Friday and happy Saint Nicholas Day! Our community project for today is Scents of the Season, part 1...wear something that smells like evergreens, or has an evergreen note. Thanks to thegoddessrena for the suggestion!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I am copying andshewaz from Wednesday's scent of the day, in Imaginary Authors Cape Heartache.
Reminder: on 12/13, we're doing Scents of the Season, part 2...wear something that smells like baked goods, or has a baked goods accord, or just reminds you of holiday baking. Suggested by thegoddessrena.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I smell green, though perhaps not evergreen in Ormonde Jayne Woman. Tea is a Christmas Tea by Betjeman and Barton. It is very nice.
Oh, but isn’t hemlock an evergreen? In any case, you smell gorgeous.
I somehow associate Christmas evergreens with holly, and I didn’t do any research on hemlock, but I think I’m good. And thanks!
You smell awesome! Christmas tea sounds cozy….whats it like? Orange peel added? (Thats a common christmas drink ingredient right?)
This one is quite mild and not quite what I expected but really, really good. Contains cinnamon, orange, almond and caramel.

Sounds nice! OMG they have a tea adventskalender ?
But i still have quite an assortiment of tea, i need to stop ‘hoarding’. The same with books. I was so tempted to buy a new book today, but I was able to restrain myself
First I need to finish one of the books i already have ☺️
(I have at least 4 newish books waiting for me to finish/start)
Betjemand and Barton is excellent and I really like their shop in The Hague (the one on the Dennenweg). I have a ridiculous amount of tea, but I do drink all of it (eventually?).
Jiji – Do you have a Kindle or an i-Pad with the Kindle app? Amazon has a service called Book Bub, free to join, and you can create a list of favorite genres/authors. Book Bub sends daily specials for $2.99, $1.99 or even free.
I look at the Book Bub list and then download the book for free from the Public Library (if it’s available).
Austenfan that is how I feel about too much tea. At least it will be consumed eventually. The perfume likely to go bad before it is consumed…
Twins! We smelled fab today!
Coromandel , I think I am in love
It’s one of my favorites too! You smell lovely!
Coromandel is very worthy of your love, for sure.
Coromandel is lovely.
You smell great!
Thanks all!
I have been busy today with my older monkeys birthday coming up.
You all smell wonderful! Cheers
I have just dosed myself for the third time today (two early a.m., one post-shower) with gorgeous Winter Délice. (Guerlain doesn’t put the accent there, but it belongs there so I’m gonna.) Fir needles, pine needles, evergreen resin, gingerbread, incensey wood smoke: how could anything be more wintry?
They really need to bring this back so more people can enjoy it: the candle just isn’t enough. They could sell the hell out of it as THE winter fragrance, the way Estée Lauder made Beautiful THE wedding fragrance.
That sounds fabulous!
Oooh, that sounds vey nice.
Sound great, you sure smell like christmas
I’m with you on Winter Delice and don’t forget its delicious gingerbread note, it’s a seasonal favorite of mine. Was going to wear it today but decided to save it for the annual Empty Bowls event tomorrow.
Wearing L’Artisan Fou d’Absinthe.
Happy Friday everyone!
Thats a great green scent, you smell lovely!
Thank you, Jiji! ?
Twins!
Don’t we smell fantabulous. ?
Hi twin! No doubts we smell terrific!!!
I wore SSS Pacific Forest at bedtime last night, and today am in TF Violet Blonde after PriscillaE reminded me yesterday that cedar is an evergreen tree. Also, the cinnamon in it is nice for Saint Nicholas Day. Happy Friday everyone. 🙂
Oh yay, I have lots of cedar- centric perfumes. Thanks for the reminders, and you smell great in VB!
I’m wearing Norne. I considered Rhinoceros, because as I was looking through my fragrances trying to get ideas, I was surprised to learn it contained a couple evergreen notes. Sniffed the nozzle this morning and they’re in there, but so well blended I never noticed. But then I decided my goal was to smell as much like a Christmas tree as possible, so, Norne. I also picked up a fir tree candle from Marshall’s last night. The holiday spirit has arrived!
Hurray for the arrival of the holiday spirit! I have yet to try Norne, but if it smells like a Christmas tree then I should hop to it! I betcha I have a sample lurking about since it sounds right up my alley.
Hi all, and happy FriYAY! My SOTD is L’ Eau Trois by Diptyque. Wafting loads of resins and incense with pine and myrrh.
Thank you for the Kindle advice.
I do have a Kindle account/app (and I also have a very very old Kindle device, but i mostly read from my phone right now). Dont know if it works for Europe, but I m going to check it out. 🙂
And you smell great in l’Eau trois!
Thanks! I love exchanging book ideas, always adding to my must read list!
L’ Eau Trois is one of my favorite Holiday scents.
Oh, so nice to see L’Eau Trois!
That sounds wonderful. Haven’t tried that one yet
My bottle is old, probably 25 years. I don’t know if this is available anywhere other than the boutiques? I do adore this for the holidays.
SotD is Arso
I AM an evergreen ?????
This smells like the whole tree, from the needles to the resins and the trunk.
You smell great!
Nice.
Happy Friday all!
I’ve been wanting to wear Inoui, but I’d also rummaged around this week for something I perceive as more suitable for the cp. Inoui won! I did research the notes, and was surprised to learn it has pine! Well, I’ve only been wearing it for a few decades. ?
Oh I loved Inoui. I wore it in the late 70s, I think. I have a tiny sample now. I’ll get it out later. I hate to use it up, but I’d be even sadder if it evaporates.
Thanks for chiming in, springpansy! It’s nice to know that someone else here is familiar with it. I bought it when it came out in the seventies and have loved it ever since. Hey, please feel free to indulge in your sample as I would be happy to send you a decant. You can ping me at: harukirumi in yahoo land.
Oh wow, thank you!!! I will email.
Inoui is a great scent
It certainly is!
I think i smelled this when i was a twen in the 80ies. It was good
It’s held up remarkably well!
Inoui is gorgeous stuff. You smell marvelous!
Thank you, SmokeyToes!
I’ve searched in vain for my sample of Fille en Aiguilles and have been looking up things on Fragrantica to see what I have that would qualify for the CP. Since I just saw that SheriG says that PriscillaE reminded her that cedar is an evergreen, I’ve got lots of choices! Going with my favorite cedar bomb, Christian Lacroix Tumulte Pour Homme mmmmm.
Oh perfection!
I’m wearing L’Air Des Alpes Suisses, from my recently arrived mini. I love those Tauer minis.
I love those minis too.
They really are just a perfect size!
Off to get my hair cut, so will put on fragrance after I get home and shower. And then we head out to get our tree.
But…I will be wearing Baiser de Russie. I like the bracing pine in this one.
I did not drool during my reflexology treatment last night, but I did float off from sheer cocooned comfort. The place is low lights and they keep it very warm as you sink into arm chairs. Apparently, body temperature drops during treatment, so the fleece throw they provided added extra coziness. I usually dislike that kind of warmth, but this was lovely.
That sounds like a wonderful experience.
I think my bones would have turned to jelly…
How lovely! I should try that.
That sounds amazing.
CSP Vanille Abricot.
A co worker said that I smell so good that she wants to eat me ??. She said I smell like a cupcake and I am making her hungry. Wore this one today as it is a favorite of a family member who has a significant birthday today.
PSA- St Clair Scents Pandora and Eve are on sale if anyone is interested.
Happy significant Birthday to your family member ??
Thank you ??
I just smelled Montale Sweet Vanilla today and it smells just like CSP Vanille Abricot! I thought of you. Happy family member birthday!!
Oh good to know!
YOU know whose birthday it is….she forgot she left the bottle at home! So now I get to “borrow” it LOL ?
LOL – enjoy it while you can! 🙂
I am wearing Bottega Veneta Parco Palladium II, which is the coolest most elegant green cypress scent I own. I will feel very Christmas-y while I finish up my Christmas shopping and bake cookies.
I haven’t explored those those BVs, but that one sounds lovely!
Send me your address and I will send you a sample. I am luanne dawt teall in the land of gee mail.
You’re too kind ScentSpirit ?, but I can readily pop over to Bergdorf’s or somesuch and give that range a sniff.
Where can you find this?
Bloomingdales has them, and they appear to be on some of the discounters now.
Thanks! I’ve not seen them anywhere.
I got mine at Holt Renfrew I think, but it might have been Saks. I’m in Canada.
Oh! I do remember smelling one of those that was quite Christmasy… you smell great.
I’m off today so decided on Cire Trudon Revolution for its juniper note, layered over Aftelier Ancient Resins. A little googling on Balm of Gilead- some say it comes from an evergreen shrub, and it has an interesting biblical history (the ancients really enjoyed giving scented prezzies ?).
It smells kind of foresty to me, in any event.
Maybe they enjoyed scented presents because they didn’t bathe daily? ?
Ha! Probably.
I read this as scented pretzels, and it sounded perfectly reasonable to me for a minute ?
Of course it’s perfectly reasonable! ? Now I’m wondering what goes well with pretzels (would be a head start to next week’s CP)…
Oh come on over. You smell fabulous!
Why thank you! It’s a great combo. I like smokey scents but rarely want to wear them out. I think this is one of the few I do.
Have a fun day off!
If I can frame the laundromat as fun somehow, lol. I have drumming practice tonight which is always fun and I slept late since I was out late last night. I went to see my niece’s boyfriend’s band for the 1st time (she gave me an hour’s notice ? but it was 6 blocks away) and it was actually pretty great. He has a punk song about Beto O’Rourke ?
I am going to join you in a bit of Revolution today!
Yay! A twin ?
Hope you had an enjoyable day off!
Another PSA
1000 Flowers 15 percent off with code WINTER
There is a new fragrance which sounds similar to her discontinued Fleur no 1 ( a softer no 19 ) and a full bottle is very reasonable.
Thanks for the heads up – I’m going to finally spring for some Reglisse Noire!
Yay! That’s in my top five of all time.???
Thanks CM8! Just got a small bottle of Reglisse Noir! It’s been on my radar awhile.
My hubby’s Dad’s favorite candy in the world is liquorice all-sorts; can’t wait to see what his reaction to this is.?

Which makes NST feel like home again! ?
🙂
???
I am scent twins with Regina this morning in Norne. After a morning appointment I’m coming come, lighting the fir candle, and starting on the Christmas cards. Might eat some peppermint bark while I’m at it.
The French transport strike has marooned my L’Artisan amber ball in trucking limbo. The package left L’Artisan and was on its way to the airport when the workers went off their jobs, so I will have to wait for the labor issues to resolve.
Hi twin! There must be a storage room in France that smells amazing right now.
Oh no!
I’m in Hermes Poivre Samarcande for very partial credit (article in Fragrantica says it’s an oak fragrance, so at least I’m in for wearing a tree). I love this fragrance even though I admit that it’s VERY quiet.
Enjoying my mental image of you wearing a tree. 😀 My (very old) notes on Poivre Samarcande indicate that it has (or had) cedar, so your very quiet, lovely smelling self may be fully CP-compliant anyway.
? ?
I have to admit, I’m not sure what an oak fragrance would be like lol. I need to try it! I do love trees…
Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles. Incensed evergreens – almost makes me enjoy the Christmas music playing here at work.
You smell fab!
Fille en aiguilles is one of my favourite fragrances, and its the only perfume I have a backup bottle for ? (mostly because Serge Lutens started to move it from the regular line to a more expensive one)
I saw that 🙁 Which is why I will probably not be replacing my decant when it’s done, but that’s a ways away still.
I envy you! I should have gotten a BUB while they were available. Oh, well… I have enough to enjoy it for a while.
Scent twins!
Hey Twins. We are smelling great! I have a tiny decant of FeA. I have often contemplated a FB but not sure I’d wear it often enough. It’s a perfect scent for this time of year.
I’m surprised that it’s so far down in the comments! I thought there would be more of us today.
I thought of wearing FeA today, but it’s too strong for me to wear to my scent free workplace.
Bummer!
It was FeA or Arso for me. Tough choice.
But I kinda neglected Arso for a while, so Arso it was. But I may wear FeA tomorrow.
☺️
I’m going to join you in FeA tomorrow, I was lucky enough to get a back up bottle as well before it went into the über-expensive bottles.
Quadruplets! 🙂
It’s such perfect perfumes for this season.
Does anyone know if the DSHperfumes sale is on? Usually about this time of year, I think. I’d love a code if anyone knows.
starscent20 until Jan 13th
Thank you!
Ending the week as I began in Ineke’s Idyllwilde. Love this scent, so glad I sprung for a full bottle when I caught a sale at Twisted Lily.
Enjoying my birthday week (December 4th), but it is wrapping up now, so thanks to all for the b’day wishes….
Happy birthday! I hope you receive some scented gifts!
Happy belated Birthday to you!
Happy birthday week. (Or do as I do and make it a celebratory birthday month!)
Twins!
Happy birthday ?
Happy Belated Birthday, Jepster!
Happy belated birthday!
I really enjoy Idyllwild and wore it yesterday. You smell wonderful and season-appropriate 🙂
Happy birthday! You smell great, idyllwild is one of the best from Ineke imho ?
Happy Birthday Week! Wishing you a wonderful year ahead.
Happy belated birthday!
Belated Happy Birthday, jepster!
Happy Belated Birthday jepster!
Keeping winter at bay with Guerlain Nahema.
Spritz a bit of that lovely in the air when I woke up this morning. It is such a happy day perfume!
It’s one of those perfumes: every time I remember it and put it on, I wonder why I don’t wear it more often.
Ah, then I need to spray it all around the perimeter of my town 😉
I confess that I also turned up the thermostat! ?
Taking the lazy, non-compliant route by wearing Montale Vanille Absolu again today. Robin’s review from ca. 2006 is spot-on; it is a pretty basic fragrance, but I don’t mind that on a day like today.
What really surprised me from reading the review was the realization that I have never smelled/tried L’Artisan’s Vanille Tonka! I thought surely I had — but nope, I don’t have any notes about it. If I ever allow myself to buy samples again, I will definitely get one of VT.
Happy Friday, all of you gorgeous (evergreen) folks!
Just in case you want to find it, Vanille Tonka is by Parfums de Nicolaï.
Oouf! I sure had that muddled. Thanks, austenfan!
That was one of the Nicolai samples I got as the “gift with purchase” from Luckyscent when I did my Black Friday shopping. I’d go with “They still make it.”
Ah, and have not smelled it in ages and couldn’t even say if she still makes it!
Wasn’t feeling CdG Zagorsk today. Much too lethargic and hoping for an easy time of it at work today. Tomorrow, I am going to conduct a raid on Bath and Body Works. When I lost power for 15 hours last week, I used most of my candles for light and warmth. I want to get rid of that $20 gift card in my wallet. Yesterday, I tried the EDP version of Coromandel and reviewed it. I found it to be thinner and weaker than the EDT. I wouldn’t mind a bottle though. Wearing SDV today.
“I want to get rid of that $20 gift card in my wallet” I know! So heavy and inconvenient!! Causes so many problems. Must be spent soon. 😉
ha!
Those gift cards burn holes in my pockets!
I think I’m going to go with SL Chypre Rouge, for its “walking along a forest floor while sucking on Red Hots” vibe. I’ve always liked this one – it’s one of those early purchases that helped propel me along the scent road. I remember feeling – as I did with many of Uncle Serge’s frags, and also with the L’Artisan line at that time (like Safran Troublant) – a sense of wonder at its strange beauty. Have done a “What fragrance pushed you down the rabbit hole?” Community Project?
Smell good, friends.
That is: “Have WE done a “What fragrance pushed you down the rabbit hole?” Community Project?”
It sounds familiar, but you know my memory is not what it once was.
Pretty sure we did, will add to my list just in case.
I love thinking about the scents that lead me down the rabbit hole!
Bedtime scent last night, and more spritzes this morning: Demeter Christmas Tree. It has a nice pine scent, with other things going on. The other things going on are pleasant and blend well with the evergreen. I like this one.
Oh well done. Cannot argue with that choice!
I’m having fun with that batch of Demeter samples I got. 🙂 The good thing is that even the full bottles are in a good price range for me. (lol)
How does it compare to the other ones you’ve tried? Is it your favorite?
I like both Christmas Tree and Frasier Fir. I’m sure I’ll wear Mulled Cider a few more times in December. It’s also an appropriate scent for the season. 🙂
I decided to go with my old holiday standby: Erik Kormann Eau de Froeliche No. 2. Love the incense and woods. Plus the cat on the bottle! I may move on to Tauer L’Air des Alpes Suisse later, to continue the theme…
He does the best bottles! Or labels, really.
Fir-Ever Young from Velvet & Sweet Pea Purrfumery which is a plush padded green
Cute name!
I am wearing Chanel No 19 Poudre — green, but not evergreen. My tea this morning is Fujian Autumn Oolong and I am drinking it in between decorating my Christmas tree.
My sweet, almost 14 year old dog had surgery yesterday to remove some growths he has on him. Two were on his head, one by his eye and one on the back of his left leg. While he was at the vet, the Doctor discovered he had a broken tooth w, so he also had a tooth extraction. He is on some heavy pain medicine and antibiotics. Poor little guy is alternating between resting and pacing the house 🙁
I hope your doggy feels a little better tomorrow.
Well wishes for your pupper.
Wishing your doggie a speedy recovery!
Sending good wishes to your fur baby for a speedy recovery.
Hope your pup feels better soon!
Hope your pup is feeling better soon! And you are smelling fabulous in your Chanel!
Poor baby, hope he feels better soon.
Gosh, poor dog. I hope he’s on the good pain meds. (Oops, that’s what I say about humans!) Hope he’s feeling better soon, like those who commented above wished.
Poor guy. Hope he feels better soon. 🙁
Wearing Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee, which oddly I generally use as a summer, keep-in-fridge scent. Will see what I think of it on a cool, rainy day.
I think it will be perfect! I, too, usually wear this in summer, will have to give it a try this season.
The edt is a summer scent to me, but the edp is more resinous and I like it in winter.
It smells a lot like their Noël candle, so I agree it works for the holiday season, as well.
AG Nuit Etoilee EdP was on my short list for today. It does smell a lot like Christmas to me.
I couldn’t find an evergreen perfume, so Grey Labdanum from Abel it is.
Fi!le en Aiguilles for th CP. Thankfully i bought a used older bottle this year. The new bottles are too big and overpriced.
Did you smell the juice in new packaging? I’m wondering if they reformulated?
I smelled it, but could not compare it with the older juice, but its still recognizable
Not surprising.
I was scent free all morning because I was supposed to get my yearly mammogram. I found out that my new insurance doesn’t cover the cost of the technition to read it. So I decided while I was there to have my foot looked at, and was advised that I needed an xray, but again, insurance… so I came away with antibiotics and a list of other places to go. I am getting ready for work now, and put on vintage Poison because I’m feeling grumpy and anti social. I really do smell wonderful though. I’m in my own perfume world.
Ummm… so your insurance will pay for the picture but not for anyone to look at it? (Bangs head into wall several times.)
That is ridiculous!
Yes, but they might pay for it at a different location. I will have to deal with them on my next day off. I’m assuming I will be on hold a very long time.
So frustrating and dumb ?I had the opposite happen, the radiologist was in-network, but the imaging facility wasn’t- and they didn’t tell me until I got the bill. At least they told you and didn’t surprise you with a bill after-the-fact. Sorry they messed up your morning, though.
Sorry your morning got messed up, hope the rest of the day goes more smoothly in your wonderful-smelling perfume world!
Sorry you had such an frustrating morning. But you made up for it with Poison ?. Take that, annoying day!
Sorry about all the insurance frustration, but you do smell great!
Dealing with insurance is such a PITA. You picked a fantastic scent to handle everything!
So frustrating, lillyjo. Hope the perfume helped and work wasn’t terrible. Hugs!
In Encre Noire for the earth and woods, but get %100 extra credit for burning a stick of Juniper Ridges Douglas Fir incense.
Lat night I cam down with a reoccurring health challenge–which gets rapidly worse if I am not put on antibiotics asap. Feeling hot, cold, and shaky and dreading the drive across town to the doctor, I got a call from her about 10 minutes before I was to leave saying she’s sent the script to the pharmacy. Still have appts I have to make today, but at least hauling myself to the MD is not one of them!
And you smell good!
So glad you were spared the trip!
Hope you feel better soon and can rest after your appointments.
Poor thing, hope you are on the mend after getting fast help from your MD. So nice of her to phone in your meds.
Ugh. What a day. I hope that tomorrow is a better one for you.
Hope you’re feeling better already!
I’ve missed you, NST! During my long visit in Ohio, I was only able to keep up with reading posts through last Wed. Then I had to deal with the ridiculous amount of emails I got over the Black Friday weekend. I got back to Seattle late Tuesday night and spent Wed doing laundry, grocery shopping, and trying to realign with my time zone. I went back to work yesterday and am super glad for the weekend.
I’m participating in the CP with SSS Forest Walk. Tonight, I’m going to an author event at my local bookstore. The author is Jeff Vandermeer. Hee wrote the Southern Reach/Area X trilogy (Annihilation, Authority, and Acceptance) and has a new book out called Dead Astronauts. I’m super excited because I’ve never read anything quite like that trilogy. He’s truly an original voice and a wonderful writer.
Here’s an “it’s a small world” moment. Reading recent tweets from Vandermeer, and he picked up some books last night from Elliott Bay Books in Seattle since he was already in town. One of the books is The Word Pretty by our very own Elisa Gabbert (she posts as Elisa)!
Huh! That’s pretty cool- the small world incident. And you smell great today. I hope you have fun tonight and have a good recovery weekend!
The event was really great! And I’ll be off to bed soon.
I didn’t realize we had an author among us. I’ll have to check her out! Hope you had a great time at the event!
Yeah, I meant to buy one of her books tonight, but the author event was packed, so we didn’t look around otherwise. It was a very fun night!
That was so cool to see!!
I bet! It was cool for me just to see my little worlds colliding and even cooler for you, I’m sure. Next time I’m at Elliott Bay, I will pick up one of yours. 🙂
When does someone who’s buried in work comment on the lovely CP thread? Of course, while sitting in a hairdresser chair having snuck out from the office (normally I’d be here on a weekend but my stylist is leaving for a vacation, so I had to fit her schedule).
Joining several other NST’ers in wearing one of my most favorite perfumes for this season – Fille en Aiguilles. It’s wonderful but I find the price hike appalling: there’s nothing to justify that other than greed. I still have a partial bottle (and I should have bought a BU while the old version was available), but I won’t buy the next one once my bottle is empty.
Yay and hurrah for sneaking out of the office for hairdresser’s appointment and catching up with NST while smelling fantastic (of course)
☺️
They had FeA briefly on fragrancenet for a good price, but sold out now. 🙁 Hopefully they will testock.
I considered FeA today, but I got a lot of spiced fruit today when I sniffed my sample. Wasn’t feeling it.
Hi! I got another sample of Demeter Condensed Milk, if you’d like me to send it to you. You can contact me at neyronrose at gmail dot com
Have a good weekend!
SOTD: Bogue MAAI
In a fit of, well, I’m not sure what, I bought a 50 ml bottle of Bogue MAAI, not even on Black Friday when there might have been sales. I can’t get enough of it, it smells even better than the sample I had, and I regret nothing.
So not really on project but I do smell green!
Happy Friday, all!
Congrats on your new bottle!
SOTD for today’s cp is vintage Clinique Wrappings, another favorite seasonal scent I wear only at this time of the year. To me it smells like fir trees in the snowy mountains. Had a wonderful week with several local musical performances and looking forward to the annual Empty Bowls event at the nearby community college tomorrow. This event always puts me in the spirit of the season, where I give rather than get, and I highly encourage everyone to see if there’s one in your area.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead!
Oh you smell so very good today! I’m a latecomer to the Wrappings love. ?
Have a great weekend! You smelled great in Wrappings!
DSH/American Perfumer Colorado for the CP today.
I love that one! The immortelle really pops on my skin.
Twins. I will post a pic later. IG has been flakey lately!
Yes, it is! I’ve heard about so many outages recently. Wonder who broke what?
I’m in Elixir des Merveilles, though it seems like cheating. I still can’t detect the evergreen notes that are supposedly in here.
You smell great, nonetheless.
I’m in Slumberhouse Sadanne, which is part of my personal project to go through my old samples and I swear I remember there being evergreens in the description for this but honestly on me it just smells like overly-sweet candy apple and a generic amber. Definitely my least favorite of the Slumberhouse scents I’ve tried.
That does not sound appealing!
Hello there NST! Well, today has certainly had its ups and downs. The positives: saw a little bit of sun again today. Also, I did NOT have a cold shower today! It definitely wasn’t hot, but at least the temp was acceptable. ⛅
The negatives: still waiting for delivery on a package that FedEx says my post office has. Also waiting for some paperwork my brother said he put in the mail Sunday night. Grumble. And I found out today that one of my friend’s beloved grandmother died. She’s heartbroken. ?
SOTD = back in Oriza L. Legrand Reve d’Ossian. Incense and evergreen notes for the win (and the CP) today! ?
Oh thank goodness about the not cold shower. When will it be fixed?
So sorry to hear that one of your friends’ grandmother passed away.
As to the FedEx package at the post office, I suppose USPS is getting commissions for delivering those packages but it would seem that the tracking would get all messed up.
No timeline as of yet for the fixing of the hot water heater. It’s been totally shambolic so far… I will post details later on this weekend.
The FedEx package showed up the minute I stopped looking for it. (Naturally.) Mr. Jalapeno brought it in when he came home tonight.
Thanks for the condolences. ?
Hugs, Jalapeno.
Technically not participating in the CP today as I was mostly commando, except for some sunscreen today.
I did discover the crazy bug that was chasing me around yesterday is a Polka it Wasp Moth; emphasis on the moth, not wasp! Apparently it doesn’t bite or sting, but just looks scary. Still don’t like them even if they are harmless.
..Polka Dot, not Polka It. Silly autocorrect!
I’m so glad that I didn’t see any notable bugs during my last trip to Florida.
I, too, would have gotten skeeved out by the Polka Dot Wasp Moth ?
Florida is FULL of bugs. Most of the Deep South in the US is- all that warm humidity lol! I love the lack of insects in the West! ?
But you have tarantulas and such in the West, right? I’ve never been there. I’d happily live in Florida for January, February and March, though.
Plus Black Widows, we used to find them up in the porch eaves (San Diego)
SOTD = American Perfumer Colorado by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz

In other news, I normally don’t win draws but I’ve been on a good streak!
– sample pack from Portia at Australian Perfume Junkies
– Gallivant tote bag from Twisted Lily
– DSH Perfumes Heirloom Elixir 9 Lautrec from Çafleurebon
I went to the mail service and picked up 10 packages.!!! I haven’t looked at them yet but I believe the sample pack and the tote bag were amongst the loot! Looks like I’ll have a busy night ahead! ???❣️
Nice! Have fun!
That’s so fun! Enjoy.
That’s awesome!
Wow, you are on a hot streak! Maybe the Universe is rewarding your past good perfume deeds?
Funnnn!!!
Have fun with your packages. 🙂 I got my package from Luckyscent yesterday, and my package from LUSH today. That was from my shopping badness on Black Friday. I suppose the good thing is that on Cyber Monday I glanced at the ads in my e-mail, and just thought, “Nah.” I felt like I’d done enough, possibly more than enough.
Maybe you should get a lottery ticket while you’re on a winning streak? 🙂
OJ Woman today. It’s pretty much perfect.
Well I felt smart and productive today. First day I didn’t feel I was floundering so it was a good end to the first week of work! Giving myself a high-five!
Good job KellyC!??
Hey did you see my message yesterday! Do you want to try some of my TF Cafe Rose?
I did not see it until just now. I would love to try it.
Email me your info (my email can be found under my gravatar) and I’ll get some out to you!
High-five, KellyC!
Congrats on conquering your first week at the new job!
Congratulations Kelly!
Good job you, KellyC!
