Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit, welcome to November! Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with dried fruits, if you have one.
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I am copying everyone else who wore Ormonde Jayne Ta'if this week.
Reminder: 11/8 will be Art House / Stunt Perfume Friday...wear a fragrance that you find weird and wonderful but that might not be appreciated by anyone but another perfumista. Bonus points if you've ever received a spontaneous negative response or odd question and still wear it! Suggested by HemlockSillage.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Dzing! L’Artisan, for the final instalment of my mini Halloween side project.
What a great avatar…even better full sized, the detail is amazing.
Thanks so much Robin – they’ve been a lot of fun to create as well!
Ditto what robin said! I didn’t have time to post or read comments yesterday, but I made time to check out your avatar! ?
Ha! Thanks.
I didn’t think to check out the large version. Excellent and I was able to look at the previous ones too!
I love the little red riding hood one! I’m even more impressed because I couldn’t even figure out how to change the assigned gravatar…
Glad you liked them!
Love it! Your avatars are the best.
There may be another one next week if I get the time…
??!!
I’ve really enjoyed seeing what you come up with, BobH! Thank you for sharing these here!
You’re welcome and I’ve loved doing and sharing them!
Must wear this soon. Thanks for reminding me
I second Holly’s comment!
Love your Avatar Bob and your SOTD!
I remembered the rabbits right after my alarm went off this morning! Will it bring me good luck? I hope so.
SotD is Dune, so I’m a fail for the cp but at least I smell good.?
My sniffles have turned into a full head cold. Normally I wouldn’t complain about a cold, but the timing is a real bummer. I was going to visit my gramma this weekend but now it will have to wait. As much as I want to see her, it would be selfish of me to expose her to whatever bug I’m fighting off.
Looking forward to that extra hour of sleep this weekend.
You smell wonderful though! I LOVE Dune!
Thank you! I am loving it more every time I wear it.
Yay sleep!
I know, right!?
Get some rest.
Here is a virtual cup of chai tea.
My FIL put so much ginger in it this morning I think it would cure any cold or illness. He must of been in a ginger type of mood…
Thanks ltsg. That was my moms advice too, don’t stress or I will take longer to get well. Easier said than done sometimes…sigh.
I love ginger in Chai! When we go to see the bigs there is a little coffee shop on the way that has a house made chai that has ginger in it and it’s so good!
Wait, home made Chai? Ohhhh. Can I come over??
There’s was place in Half Moon Bay called Ramen’s Coffee and Tea, he made excellent home made Chai. Not low calorie though…
Sadly, he passed away last year. He was really special.
You smell great ! Keep resting ☉
Thanks lillyjo! I hope you get some rest this weekend too!
Feel better soon!
Thanks!
Oh, no! I hope you feel better soon. Lots of Vitamin C!
Thanks! Yeah, I’ve been drinking a Whole Foods vitamin C packet morning and night.?
You smell wonderful, and you can complain about a cold, they’re miserable! Nice of you to keep it to yourself, hope you are feeling better soon 🙂
Thanks!
Oh no! Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks!
Can I just say how awesome I smell? I’m wearing Botrytis for the project and it’s just so perfect for this time of year(and just awesomely awesome in general)
I think you can always say how awesome you smell 🙂
You smell delicious. I wore this too for the CP
You really smell amazing! 🙂
Ciao! Rabbit x3
I had a blast yesterday with the kids for halloween but had horrible sleep because of all the sugar I ate.
The Cleopatra eyes came out so good, however, it took me 30+ minutes to do it. I guess that is why Cleopatra had servants to do hers.
I was in such a rush I grabbed a decant out of my makeup bag and it was Black Perfecto so that was my scent for Cleopatra and my SOTD today since I can still smell it. Question: Has this one been discontinued?
Its a beautiful fall crisp day, I will take anything as long as there is sun!
How long did the Cleopatra eyes take to remove? We have our first sunny day here in over a week, yes sunshine makes all the difference.
This morning I still had raccoon eyes…
If that gives you any idea
I am in the candied dried orange peel of Elixir des Merveilles.
I haven’t seen you on here in a bit..or maybe just missing your posts.
You smell great
🙂
Yum. I should have thought of candied orange peel myself.
Hi all, My SOTD is Straight To Heaven By Killian. I finally managed to have a CP perfume!
My new employee started yesterday and we had a lovely discussion about perfume. Perhaps she is a budding perfumista? She loves drinking all varieties of tea, and prefers green teas or fruity teas, so that’s where I’m starting with making samples. I have Fleur de Rose Bulgare by Creed and Eau the Blanc by Bvlgari. 🙂
Will you hire me?
Absolutely! Come on over!
Please hire me. I am jobless and down to 6 perfumes. I’ll wash your dishes for samples, especially that Opium.
Me, too. I love Straight to Heaven.
Balenciaga Rumba today to go with my woolly sweater.
Isn’t amazing to think that the nose behind Rumba is the same as the nose behind Le Jardin sur Monsieur Li! You smell fantastic.
What an amazing perfume, you smell great.
Yvresse today! These fruits may not be dried but this is one of the first perfumes I’ve loved with a fruity character. Love love love.
I’m with u there coumarin, it’s one of my very favourite perfumes. A kind perfumista gave me a decant, and I only wear it on special occasions and always feel amazing, I will be sad when it’s all gone, but I’ve been lucky to have been able to experience it. U smell amazing!
Oh, that’s one fluffy rabbit! Adorable!
I’m still in my spicy fruity rut with Kenzo’s Perfect Pachyderm ?
My bottle is half gone, or half full if you happen to be a delusional optimist. ?
We seem to have had two days of fall and then straight into winter with highs in the teens and 20’s for the next 10 days. A complete bust of a season and I’m so disappointed I really didn’t even get to see any real fall colors.
The count down had begun, only 12 more shifts and I can’t wait. No break or lunch the last two shifts. When you do get a lunch, you’re constantly interrupted on average 10-20 times. They need some legislation up here, because this place is ridiculous. This facility and hospital organization has definitely made my “Do Not Return” list.
Do you head back to Florida then?
Yeah, they definitely need some legislation about uninterrupted lunch breaks. There have been lawsuits over that kind of thing (ask me how I know?). I have to punch out for my lunch break and hand off my phone so that it IS uninterrupted.
I was planning on heading back to hopefully sell my house. Yeah, no phones here, they use the Vocera system. I’ve tried to keep track of the number of calls I get in a shift, and I lost count at 75. ?
OMG!? Our NICU uses Vocera. I don’t think I’d like it, plus everyone else in the room hears the entire conversation.
Haha! HIPPA?! Never heard of it! Seriously, some of these hospitals still have multiple pt’s in the same room and INSIST nurses to bedside report. So now, you know your neighbor drinks 2L of vodka a day, is admitted for detox, is schizophrenic, the last time he or she pooped, and the results of their morning labs. When I brought this up to a manager, I was politely told: This is the way we do it. If you don’t like it, bye-bye.
So, 13 weeks later, I went BYE-BYE ?
I bet you can whistleblow on the HIPAA violation. It’s a federal rule…
Wow, that seems fast…but I guess if you’re counting the last 12 shifts it does not seem so fast to you! Sorry you missed the fall color. If you hurry, you can still see it here!
12 shifts = 1 month, so not as quick as you’d imagine. Plus, they pushed my start date back 2 weeks, and then expected me to push my finish date back 2 weeks to accommodate them, after I signed the original contract. Nope. Don’t want to be here in mid-December, then trek through the US to get back to Florida.
So 11 weeks instead of the usual 13, just a wee bit shorter.
My beloved Volutes! According to Fragrantica, Volutes has a dried fruit note. Who knew??
Oh, beautiful! You smell amazing!
Thank you!
twins! it is beautiful
Yay! You smell fab ?
Twins, one day late, but I wore the EDP today.
You smell fantastic! I bet the edp is wonderful. I need to try it!
Happy All Saints’ Day that is celebrated in Poland today. I just came back from the mass at the graveyard and am ready for some tea to warm me up.
Sotd is Guerlain Lui.
Happy All Saints Day Lucasai!
You smell fantastic!! I love Lui.
I’ve been on vacation (at home) this week and have been very lazy about commenting here, but have lurked a fair amount … and remembered to rabbit, both at 4 am when I first woke, and again following a further “nap” and the realization that no more sleep would happen this morning.
Right now I’m getting a head start on next week’s CP in Ummagumma, but will switch to this week’s CP with SL Cuir Mauresque, or maybe Chergui if I can find the sample vial, later on. I finally settled on new paint colors for a couple of rooms and am midway through primering (is that a word?) my little home office. Primer is very white, isn’t it? Color to start going on later today!
Staycations are the best! Lol at primering, I think maybe it’s just called priming. Agree that it is very white, we have learned through years and 3 houses that priming is definitely the way to go. It makes the color so much richer and true when you’re finished.
Agree that staycations have a lot of advantages (less expensive, no travel, ….), and that priming (thank you for the word!) is the way to go. Sadly, I’m painting over a rather deep chocolate brown, and two coats of primer were called for … so no color for me today – my aging knees, back and shoulders can only do so much at a time. Plus, our trim is white so I didn’t have to tape before priming, but I definitely HAVE to tape before putting color on, and I want to wait until the primer is really, really dry before taping (having learned from dire experience).
Meanwhile, no Chergui for me – I keep forgetting that I have a sample of Chene, not Chergui. However, there in the spot where the sample of Chergui would have been if I had one, which I don’t (are you all following this?), was a forgotten half-sample of SL Boxeuses. How could I have forgotten about that one??? No points for me, but who cares – I smell like Boxeuses and it’s heavenly!
No points for me today. SL Cedre called my name. I love this perfume so much, that noticing my bottle is a half inch down, made me panic. Yesterday, I had my stupid tooth pulled. I had a sedative from the doctor, plus the laughing gas. Then got home and took the pain killers. I pretty much lost the whole day. I hope I didn’t say anything stupid or weird. I’m going in to work with just plain ibuprofen, but the pain is dulled now. Happy Friday everyone!
Rabbit rabbit rabbit!
Glad the pain isn’t too bad. I thought about you yesterday and wondered how it went. I hope if you did say anything stupid or weird, nobody videotaped it and sent it to AFV, lol.
When my college daughter had her wisdom teeth out and we were driving home, she was all doped up and says to me, “was I a rockstar mom, did I do good?”
Haha! ?
I insisted on no meds when I went into labor with my first child–that lasted exactly 22 hours, and then I had had enough. I do not recall what I was given (eventually I had an epidural and a c-section–but that is another story…) but apparently I sat up very suddenly, and with great passion announced to everyone that I was the Statute of Liberty.
Lol! I had foot surgery and was completely out. Apparently I woke up during surgery and threatened to take the OR hostage. While the anesthesiologist was telling me the story, the pain broke through and he gave me a bump of Demerol. I left very happy and tried to apply for a job at McDonalds while ordering a Big Mac at the drive through.
I hope you weren’t the one driving!!?
No, I was definitely the passenger. I didn’t get the job.
That is hilarious! In all seriousness I once went for a real job interview pumped up on steroids and a broken foot (long story). I tried to reschedule it, but they said no. So, I get every side effect listed for prednisone–I mean every single one (instant 15 pound weight gain, raging face rash, and manic aggression are just the tip). Anyway, I thought I was holding it together, between limping in my big black boot, tight suit, crazy make-up to cover rash, tamped down mood swings between violence and depression, you know, the usual. It took me 45 minutes to drive to the interview in San Francisco, and 45 minutes to find parking close enough for me to shuffle to the offices in my boot. The interview lasted 12 minutes. Having now conducted countless interviews myself, I wonder how horrible I must have been for them to have cut it short so quickly! Did I growl? I hope I growled.
I hope you did too!
??
LOL!
After my epidural didn’t work with my son, I threatened to jump out the window if they didn’t give me something for the pain. After he was born, they sent in a suicide counselor. At first I laughed, but they didn’t leave. I apologized, then they left. Ugh.
Excellent story — sounds like something I would do.
That is a terrible story. Not sure why I am laughing!?!
I still find it funny! But man, they were serious. They had good intentions, just the wrong person.
??❤️❤️
??
Ouch! Sorry you lost a tooth! Dental stuff is never any fun. I can imagine why anyone would grow up wanting to be a dentist…?
Me neither, and I’ve been to so many bad dentists, I often wonder what the appeal is.
I was blessed to find an amazing dentist when we first moved here 18 yrs ago. I just realized that I take having a good dentist for granted.
Ooooh, dental pain is the worst! Hope you feel better asap!
Why do people say “rabbit, rabbit, rabbit”? I’ve only ever seen it on this site and don’t understand the reference.
I never heard of it until NST, but basically, if you say rabbit rabbit rabbit first thing when you wake up on the first day of the month, you will have good luck! Fingers crossed it works.
Thank you! If I remember, I’ll do it next month!
Oh, bummer. I just got back from a dental appointment and they reminded me I needed to have my tear molar pulled, which I’ve been putting off for years.
Glad it’s not too bad today!
The funny part is they offered me an implant instead for three thousand dollars ?
Hope your mouth is feeling better!
Feeling almost back to normal now. Thanks!
Hope you are healing nicely. Now, no more problems with that tooth.
Camel.
Ambre Narguile. It smells of dried fruits to me, and JCE mentions fruit in the descrition, so I hope I deserve partial credit.
Twins – have a spritz of Ambre Narguile on one hand and Montale White Musk on the other, as it is quite a cool day.
smelling sexy and classy!
Today I am wearing Jo Malone BlackBerry & Bay.
Oh I love that one. I was thinking of getting a one oz, and the wood sage and sea salt body cream. I have great success with JM. All I like but Orange Blossom give me at least 8 hours.
Pom Noir again for me. It needs to be used up, I’m poor, and the perfume I ordered even though the rule was I had to drain 2 bottles before purchasing hasn’t got here yet. And also a sampler of 5.
Happy FriYAY!
Oooof. Couldn’t find my samples Zoologist Camel or Botrytis perfumes for the challenge this morning. (A sure sign that it’s time to do a clean out/declutter/organization of the sample boxes.)
So anyhoo, went with one sprays of ELdO Fat Electrician, and loving it. The vetiver and chestnut is soooooo good!
Have a great weekend! 🙂
I really like FE too. You smell great today.
Arabie, Arabie, Arabie! The queen of this category as far as I’m concerned. After luxuriating in a generous spritz this morning, the Mr. declared that he hates cloves all of a sudden. He’s going to have to just deal with it until winter ends, in May.
That’s the spirit! ?
Scent twins, we smell wonderful! Clove is one of my favorite perfume notes.
Was thinking of Arabie today but can’t find my bottle right now.
Oh no! I hope it turns up.
I can’t believe I’m the first person to report in wearing Arabie this morning! I thought everyone was planning to wear it this Friday. Yesterday afternoon while I was still wearing Camel I decided to do a side-by-side comparison. Interestingly, when stacked against Camel, Arabie did NOT smell sweet. It smelled much more buttery and resinous. Still very gourmand and spicy, but I don’t get what some people comment on, notes of curry or liquorice. It’s pretty potent. I do really like that plump Chinese rabbit, Robin, though it also looks rather like a sweet little lamb!
Beat you to it by one post :p But the more the merrier!
I tried to make my husband wear Camel. I love it very much. But he is more of a Beaver guy – watery and aquatic 😀
And also Camel reminds me of a Nesti Dante soap – chic animalier series – Leopard =) I prefer to think of my fragrance to be a leopard rather than a camel =)
Pulp! maybe dried fruit? maybe just wet fruit?
Ha! But dried fruit was wet fruit at some point…
???
so true :)!
NST peeps are smelling great today.
I put on some more Fresh Cream this morning. I had forgotten that I had this, but then suddenly remembered and spritzed some on after last night’s shower, hoping it would ease this strange, vague discontent I’ve been feeling for the perfumes I have on hand, combined with my longing for something comforting. Fresh Cream isn’t quite the right answer, but it isn’t getting on my nerves, either, so that’s good. Guess it’s time to practice radical acceptance of the situation and just get on with things…
A couple of rabbit books I’ve enjoyed lately: Bunny Boy and Me by Nancy Laracy, and The Rabbit Effect by Kelli Harding.
Happy Friday!
I always find vanilla scents calming and comforting. Good luck dealing with this. Sounds a bit like November blues to me (at least, I know I am prey to them).
I always received compliments when I wore fresh cream. It really is delicious. The Souffle is great too.
I’m wearing Serge Lutens El Attarine, from a bell jar I bought in Paris once upon a time.
Perfect.
I will be wearing Nectarine Blossom and Honey later today. First time dabbing, but Jo Malone’s stuff always leaves me pleasantly surprised.
sounds lovely, i was looking for a honey fragrance.
I had planned to join the CP and wear my sample of Frapin 1270, but Guerlain Angelique Noire jumped out and said, “spray me, spray meeeee.” And so I did.
What can you do?
Finally wearing something for a CP, probably my second or third ever – although I read you religiously.
I’m in Volutes from Diptique, which goes wonderfully with staying indoors, away from the wind and cold outside. Montreal is grey and unwelcoming today.
But comforting myself with home made cocoa meringue and espresso. Caffeine, sugar and perfume, make up for any cold!
Cocoa meringue and espresso, eh?What’s your policy on unexpected strangers turning up for dessert? Asking for a friend…
Everything tastes better when there’s people to share with!
Cocoa meringue & espresso! I might drop in with Koenigsberg.
It would be lovely, I’m a fan!
But what is a Koenigsberg, sorry to be ignorant? Google isn’t quite enlightning at this point.
ah! the name!! duh!
for some reason it didn’t click in my head, kept thinking it must be some sort of fancy alcoholic beverage!
LOL ???
There are days when you’re not far wrong… ?
HA, sorry I was so late getting back here, looks like you worked it out 🙂
I’m sampling Hendley’s Mown, which purportedly has a dried fruit note. I’ll be generous and say maybe it does. I don’t actually *like* dried fruit as a food, so maybe I don’t like it in perfume? Anyway, I wanted something golden to match the fall foliage which is at its peak in my neck of the woods, and I thought of hay. I’m not getting much of that from Mown either.
Perhaps a reeking havoc episode is in order?
Mown smelled autumnal to me, but more like a pile wet dead leaves in the mud after rain. So, not golden, more brown.
Yep, that’s it in a nutshell!
Ahh, by coincidence, I am wearing Keiko Mecheri – Umé today, so I fit in with the theme! It’s a good scent for this freezing, rainy weather.
Oooh, I have that one and never thought of it! Good choice. I must get out my bottle and wear some tomorrow.
No dried fruit for me today. I had a dental appointment earlier to redo a broken filling and I’m numb all the way up to my eyebrow. Feels weird.
I wore AALavande Velours for the calming effect. I have thought that LV smells kind of chewy, like an herbal/floral fruit roll.
Happy it’s blue skies AND Friday. Looking forward to our drumming at the marathon tomorrow at 5th Ave around 90th street, which is almost the end, so exciting to watch the 1st runners come in and hopefully give them some pep in their step!
Sorry about the dental work! But have fun drumming tomorrow, that sounds lovely.
Hey, I’ll join any party that includes Ta’if, so that’s what I’m wearing today.
Today was the first time I remembered to ? ? ?. Got up just before the alarm went off at 4:50 am (!), stumbled into the bathroom and remembered as I turned on the light.
Loving this weather. Cold and sunny. So energizing.
Hey twin!!
I love cold sunny days!
In remnants of Straight to Heaven.
Question for ladies and gentlemen. I contacted the seller of the fake perfume I bought off Ebay. The one that burned me. The response was they have certificates and for me to send it back, then, she would refund me.
So. I send back a fake that burned and caused a painful rash, only to be resold to someone else. No thanks.
What recourse do people have, besides feedback? Is there a place where people list good sellers?
Dying to share sellers name. ?
Thanks.
Can you contact eBay?
Thanks. This is really helpful.
I didn’t realize that if the seller offers it back that Ebay wouldn’t do something. This seller must have known. I received a message from them moments after the purchase asking me to contact them, not Ebay if there were problems.
I should have known. I will know in advance.
Thanks again.
I would contact eBay about this.
I would love to, but it looks like I am screwed reading the other comments. I am going to post, if it is okay, how to spot a fake Tom Ford. As best I know. Lots of links, but I can just list what I have gathered so people can be aware ahead of time.
Maybe a big site like that already exists. ?♀️
Thanks for offering your suggestion.
You can put in a claim or complaint w/ Ebay, but since the seller is offering a refund upon return, probably not much will be done on eBay’s end. I think it takes a lot to get thrown off of eBay and if you read negative feedback for perfume sellers, “fake” is probably the #1 complaint (though there are shady buyers as well- I know some people here reported they had sales claimed as fake).
I also think buying perfumes on eBay is a “buyer beware” situation, especially with brands that are prone to counterfeiting like Chanel, Creed, Tom Ford, etc.
I do check feedback and negative comments when I consider buying from someone with <100% rating so leaving feedback does help steer buyers somewhat.
Thanks so much. I’ve learned a lot from these past two experiences. The ‘buyer beware ‘ never was a problem in all but the two out of three last purchases.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond and giving me valuable feedback.
Thank you.
I’m on board with the programme: SOTE is Serge Lutens “Arabie”. Now sadly drowned by anti-mosquito spray, as I’m going in to town with TOMK and a friend of his. Plan is to see an exhibition at the CAC and then find somewhere to eat. ?
Wazamba today, whic h smells of smoke and dried apples. I also cooked according to the CP and made a Diana Henry recipe..parsi chicken with dried apricots. If you have her cookbook A bird in the hand, i highly recommed this. The boyfriend liked it a lot.
Wazamba is so good. The chicken sounds good too.
SotD was Rahele.
No dried fruits. But quite uplifting on a very grey and dreary day.
Sampling madly today before the Portland Sniffa so that I can give away all the ones I don’t like. I’m wearing Le Labo Ylang 49, which I do like. I might leave this on a little longer before moving on to the next.
Fragrantica lists “fruity notes” but combined with the spices I get a dried fruit vibe in Nicolai Sacrebleu Intense. One of my favorite Nicolais. Hoping it gives me the illusion of warmth for tonight’s playoff football game – kickoff temperature 38 degrees, dropping from there. Feeling bad for my kid who as a sophomore will be standing on the sidelines the whole game. Brrrr. At least I can wear a coat and boots!
Stay warm!
The day will be too hot today for perfumes in this category but if I was participating I’d go for a dab of Dior’s Dolce Vita. Not dried fruit perhaps, but fruit concentrate. ☺️
Later I’ll be in Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin.
I love Dolci Vita
Wearing Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier.
Smells like boozy fig syrup. Not really my thing, but I like it somehow.
I usually wear it to bed. I’ll see how I like it in during the day.
Happy Friday!!
I love Roger & Gallet! Their bath and body products are so nice!
Barney’s. RIP.
Participating as I found a sample of YSL Noble Leather which has dried fruit. It is a stronger leather than the ones I usually favor but it’s interesting at least.
I love the rather fat rabbit, Robin, very cute.
I remembered the rabbits quite early in the morning this time.
SOTD is Bois de Paradis. I have only have a bottle left, I will treasure it. It is gorgeous.
I meant half a bottle, which is even more serious ?
Yes, that is one seriously gorgeous scent. I wore it earlier this week. Like you, I was eyeing my bottle to check how much was left.
Couldn’t find my bottle of Arabie at the moment. I think that I will organize that box. My aunt basically just threw everything in there with no regard. She still doesn’t get that half of what I have costs $125 and up. Spending the day in Frapin 1270.
I’m wearing Arabie on your behalf today! 😉
Did you get them all back though?
I have them all but they are just jumbled in a plastic storage bin but it’s at funny angle in my closet.
Arabie for me today! Spicy goodness!
Happy Friday and happy November, everyone!
A sweet and warm scent was perfect for today’s early morning temps in the 20’s after yesterday’s Halloween snowstorm brought nearly 4” of snow amidst howling winds. I’m a person who enjoys winter but this was too much even for me! SOTD is JCB Fleurs d’Ombré Ombré Bleue, which has long been a favorite of mine for its warm honey note. Fragrantica tells me it also has a dried fruit note, so it’s perfect for today’s cp as well.
Wishing everyone -and their pets – who are under the weather – whether that’s literally the scary winds and wildfires on the west coast, yesterday’s heavy storms on the east coast, and the ice and snow here in the Midwest, – or you’re just not feeling well, a better weekend ahead, with at least a peek or two of sunshine to brighten your day.
Meant to check in this morning but got really busy at work soon after I got in. I’m in Volutes EDP for CP points and because its one of my go-to favorites lately. I’ve heard people say the EDP doesn’t last very long or have a lot of oomph, but man my older decant lasts forever on me. I will be buying a bottle after I finish my decant, and I hope I like it from the bottle as much as I have from the decant.
Twins!!! I smell dried fruits but Fragrantica does not list it as a note. What does Fragrantica know anyway??
Ha, well apparently I was looking at the Fragrantica page for the EDT! I agree though that I smell dried fruits in it too.
I’m wearing L’Air du Temps (modern new bottle of Edt, and I bought Pdt and parfum after a couple of days going crazy about EdT – I want everything smelling like that!) 😀
And it breaks my heart to read reviews of perfume community about it being a thin shadow of itself compared to the original vintage formula
I think it is magical just the way it is today
What do I know? 😀
The bottle is great too!
Waiting to see if they ever make this black crystal thing again with the doves =)
My mother used to wear that, and it’s so beautiful.
Hey! I was just thinking of you this morning !
I feel magical now?
Finally settling down next to the fireplace wearing Frapin 1270. It has been a long, frustrating day dealing with the after effects of last night’s windstorm. I think I’ll take a cue from the Frapin and have a sip of cognac, too.
???!
Late again today! Still playing catch up with chores.
SOTD = TM Womanity Les Parfums de Cuir, from the sample stash. I’m getting both fresh and dried figs in this one, in addition to the leather.
I have a lot to catch up too but at least it’s the weekend!
SOTD = Diptyque Volutes EDP
Yesterday, I accidentally wore Volutes EDT, which has a dried fruit note. Since the EDP is sweeter and fruitier, I decided to wear it today for the CP. To my surprise, Fragrantica does not list dried fruits as a note in the EDP entry! ? Whatever. For all intents and purposes, there’s dried fruit and I get credit. Okay? Okay! ?

I found a picture of a Dia de los Muertos display from my trip to New Orleans in October 2014. Take a look!

I’ll be sending out Splitmeet payment info tonight. I will try to get the answer to the Hermes question tomorrow. I guess if you’re Hermes, you can close the store at 6PM on a Friday!
In other news, I left the office at 4 this afternoon and stopped by the Bryant Park holiday shops. Mostly the same vendors were there but then again, I only perused half the stores before I had to leave to catch my train. Olfactory NYC was there and one can customize a perfume using one of 9 base perfumes. I got a 10mL travel spray of “Dylan”; unfortunately, the travel sprays are not customizable, but of course I can simply layer to achieve a similar effect! I’ll be revisiting at some point to see if there’s a combo that is different enough from what I have in my collection to be worth buying.
yay! scrolled up to see we are house twins today.
You smell marvelous. 😀
Woo hoo! I love being twins with you! Accidental rhyming!
Sotd = 34 boulevard Saint Germain
I love the spices in this one, it reminds me of dried fruit compote, though no dried fruit notes listed for the scent.
Imagine how delicious we would smell if we could all be in the same place together!
Hope everyone had a fantastic Friday. Weekend, watch out because here! I! come! 😀
We get an extra hour’s sleep too so yay THIS weekend!
I was commando for most of the day. Went for lunch and some shopping with a work friend. We had a great day!
We stopped him at Sephora so I could get a brush cleanser, but they don’t carry that particular product. In the meanwhile, I tested Dior Joy on one hand and the new Gucci on the other. I didn’t keep track of what was sprayed where, but sadly, it’s a big fail. Right now the musk from one of them has morphed into the dreaded bleach scent on my skin. Blergh! But money saved.
Happy Friday everyone.
Testing…
Wasn’t able to post earlier… strange.
Put on a bit of Zen Classic a few hours ago — and maybe it’s just the power of suggestion — but this felt soothing to me. 🙂
Super late – Chanel day. 1957 from a decant and I bought a bottle ? ha and L’Eau. Tomorrow Bengale Rouge will be delivered. Yay! TGIF.
