Hump Day and Candy Corn Day. (And the splitmeet is still open!) What fragrance are you wearing?
Points again today, plus I smell delicious, in Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Bakul Medjool.
Reminder: on 11/1, wear a fragrance with dried fruits, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Pi, Givenchy.
Mummy Bob!!
Bobbyteetee!
Love the avatar. Go BobH!
Thanks! Two more to go…
I’ve never smelled Pi! I must remedy this too! Too many classics I haven’t smelled…..
I’m wearing Un Zeste de Rose, which, believe it or not, has dried fruit.
I would not have guessed!
SL El Attarine which is full of dried apricot. I had forgotten how wonderful this is. The last six or seven years of uninspiring (to me) Lutens have dimmed my memory of the lovely old favorites. Luckily this weeks theme is perfect for exploring them.
OH, the Serge I regret the most. You smell lovely.
It’s still in production, I see it on their website. Of course $$$.
Oh, I know, but thanks. I won’t buy 75 ml of it, and I won’t buy decants anymore, so it is essentially unattainable for me. That’s ok, I regret not having it but I also regret having too much perfume — it all evens out in the end.
This is the one I’m saving for Friday! You smell great.
I am sampling Sì by Armani
Well, I was bracing myself for something horrible to come out of this little sample vial. Ma… Non male…
Chai tea this morning..and I am off to Harlem to eat at a little African Resturant.
..a friend of mine who is Greek, I gave her the book Song of Achilles to read during a 6 hour flight she had for work. This morning she gifted me with this beautiful Greek handmade vase with the ships that look like they are sailing to Troy. She said it was a thank you for reading Song. We both agreed that we fell in love with Achilles while reading that book. It is a light, fun, you-dont-have-to-use-your-brain books
What a lovely thank you!
I know! So sweet…
Thanks for mentioning Song of Achilles; it’s been on my list. Got it from the library! Loved Circe.
Thanks so much for the recommendation.
Feeling fruity in l’Elephant! I may wear this the rest of the week. ?
That works!
I’ll be in that tomorrow or Friday!
Ooooooh, nice choice!
“Hey babe I need to borrow your Camel ’cause it’s dried fruit week on now smell this dot com”
LOL!
(1) You smell exquisite. I would be wearing Camel if I knew where in my boxes it is.
(2) Your husband has excellent taste. (I guess we already knew that.)
🙂
Camel is such a good one!
?
SOJD (scent of jury duty) = KISS Me Intense. Which I thought wouldn’t be overly intrusive. Or maybe I should wear something intrusive….
Fingers crossed you don’t get picked.
Thanks. So far it’s sitting around. No one has been called to a courtroom….
Biggest issue right now is post-lunch tiredness. And I didn’t eat a heavy lunch. I did a very brisk walk to go to a weigh-in before eating , and the result was not satisfying. Boo hoo. Now I just want a nap…
Good luck! I hope you don’t get picked!
Shall I consider Kiss Me Intense good luck? They let us all go and gave us a letter saying we have completed our service. I’m released for four years.
Yay!
Woo hoo!
I think Organza Indecence will do for friday. I’ve been wearing it a lot this fall. Maybe I will get Le de as well. The mythique bottles are so beautiful and I still ‘need’ a lily of the valley scent. Does anyone of you own this one?
I find the Mythique reissue of Le De to be a light indolic ylang/jasmine with a touch of the mossy base of Givenchy III. It is very pretty.
Good to hear! Thank you! I sprayed it on once and remember smelling my wrist all the time. That’s always a good sign ?
Agree that it’s very pretty. I think of it as a ‘yellow floral’. One of my Fancy Lady scents… every now and then I like to pretend I am Fancy 🙂
O yes! Fancy lady is nice!!
I’m in Tea for Two – no points for the CP, but LOTS of points from me for keeping me cozy during a cold snap.
Love that one, you smell fantastic.
very much a cold weather scent
Such a good one for a cold day!
I’m in Vanille Insensee.
I woke up with what feels like the beginning of a stuffy nose and sore throat. Ugh, I seriously do not have time to be sick right now. Hoping it’s a reaction to the flu shot I got on Monday.?
Oof, i hope it goes away quickly! I got mine last friday, didn’t get sniffles but my arm was sore for a while.
My arm wasn’t too bad this year. One year I got a terrible bruise about the size of an apple.
oh no!
Here is some homemade chai (virtually)
Thank you!
I blame the snow. Hopefully it’s a false alarm, but get some rest if you can.
Ha, yes, I’ll blame it on the snow too. It all melted away yesterday afternoon, hopefully my sniffles will too!
Being sick is so inconvenient but I hope you feel better!
Thanks Petunia. Me too!
I hope it passes you by! I got mine too on Monday and knock on wood, did not even feel any soreness which of course worried me some because it was as if I didn’t even get it (I know I got a needle prick since there was a pinhole sized drop of blood on the bandaid)…or the reaction may be delayed….
My arm was definitely less sore this year than previous years, it’s weird how the reaction can vary from year to year.
Same here- no reaction and no soreness. I also wondered the same- if it doesn’t cause some sort of misery, it’s probably not working, lol.
I hope it passes quickly!
Thanks! Me too!?
Twins today! Hope you feel better quickly and it’s not a full-blown cold.
Hey twin, we smell great!
Ick on the stuffy nose and sore throat. I hope they go away quickly for you! ?
Mmmm Candy Corn Day:). Love me some soft, chalky sweetness lol.
Bigsley didn’t get back with me on the freebiemeet so I am gunna offer it up here. I am adding a few goodies.
Up for grabs, one freebiebox including a 3.0 oz bottle of My Burberry EDT, I am also including(if it ok to do so?) over 30 nail polishes, new or tested once, Opi, China Glaze etc..And a fresh body sorbet lotion from Body Shop in the scent Piñita Colada. If you would like this box please say “dibs” and email me at kalliela11 at the hawtmail.
Thanks!
Can I dibs for my kids who will go gaga over the nail polishes?
Thanks!
Sure! Email me up. Thanks.
So generous of you!
Wearing Byredo Elevator Music because i came to work commando and it’s the first sample i found!
That’s a great name I might have to look this one up
it is! to me the name is more interesting than the scent 😉
How do you like it?
On me it is quite nondescript, just a light woodsy musky thing.. i can’t say i love it, but it’s good as an office scent so i will finish the sample in due time!
Magnolia Nobile
Hi all, my SOTD is L’Eau Trois by Diptyque. Love the dry herbs and incense notes.
Late last night I put No 22, inspired by you yesterday. I can still smell some on me even this morning,.
Ohhhh, I bet you had sweet dreams last night! I really love the far drydown in this perfume, very comforting. I’ve been reaching for incense-based perfumes lately. I should try to find my CdG Koyoto perfume….
That is a good one!
If you ever run out of yours, let me know – I believe I have a decant of this that I’m happy to send your way.
Ooh ooh, I have a partial bottle of this and you may have just inspired my SOTD for tomorrow!
Hajusuuri – It’s perfect for the crisp morning weather.
I’m test driving 3 Courrèges. Bleu, Empreinte and L’Eau. All are good, but my favourite so far is Empreinte. A wonderful chypre.
I have and love all three, you smell wonderful! Just wait for the dry down in Empreinte, it’s gorgeous.
The only one I haven’t tried yet is the white one, Courrèges en Blanc. These 3 are just amazing, and you are right: the dry down of Empreinte is lovely.
Good morning Y’all!
A Guerlain love story: Last night it was cold and rainy and damp and kinda yucky, so after my shower I sprayed 2 generous sprays of Mitsouko and hunkered down under the blankets. This morning….WOW!! The drydown was just sooooooo good, that I refreshed with one little spray for work. In Mitsouko heaven right now, in my cozy warm little bubble of spicy peaches and flowers. Perfume wise, I really was born in the wrong decade! This is GLORIOUS stuff…..I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!
You’re inspiring me to dig my sample out tomorrow – I’ve been meaning to give this another wear!
What a great way to wear Mitsouko!
I have never connected with Mitsouko but you’re certainly making me want to give it another shot.
I can wear Mitsouko but have never had any luck with Shalimar. I figure that means more Shalimar for you.
I’ll take ALL the Shalimar!
Another day in the Jovoy Amber sample I got at Fumerie. I’m revising my opinion on this (and perhaps all Ambers): the initial spray leaves me fairly unmoved, but the drydown is lovely. I’m realizing that I have many florals and some leathers and overall a great collection for spring/summer but few ambers for the fall season…must dig through my samples and see what other amber scents I have to give a try.
In case it helps:
https://nstperfume.com/2018/03/16/friday-scent-of-the-day-3-16/
Needed some comfort today so I’m in Dusita Issara. Such a cozy perfume and probably the only fougere I’ve loved from my limited fougere sampling experience.
I hope it provides some comfort and tomorrow is a better day.
Thanks Petunia! Cat colony woes and bad timing, weather-wise ?
Oh, I’ll bet. Poor kitties. Still, they fare better with your help!
Sending you some comfort and I hope it helps a little!
Thank you my dear ? Always helps!
Adding any comfort I can. ??☉??
Thanks lillyjo! We can share those fries ?
It’s so hard when you can’t gather them all up and take them home. ?
Seriously! I wish I had a huge house with a big yard…
Sending as many warm, good vibes as I can.
Thanks KellyC!
Sending you some paws-itive kitty vibes tonight!
Thanks Jalapeno! We’ll need them!
My SOTD is Ormond Jayne Ta’if, which is the first one of hers I ever bought–shopping some seven or so years ago at Harrods and trying them all. It was a tough decision but I do still really love this. I don’t wear it often, but this CP is reminding me to get it out more because it’s very beautiful indeed. Perhaps I feel it would be just a bit too heavy for most of the year given our Houston heat and humidity, but we’re finally in sight of fall.
You smell beautiful! Anyone who can handle T Rex shouldn’t have a problem with Ta’if. ??
You smell lovely! Yes indeed, it’s a good day for Ta’if.
Smelling wonderful. Ta’if is a great one!
One of my favs. You smell great!
Sutra Ylang by Bois 1920. A house I don’t see mentioned very often. It’s a pretty spiced amber that suits this dreary day.
Also has anyone sampled Tiempe Passate by Antonia’s Flowers? It’s a unicorn fragrance. I saw it mentioned this morning and am very curios.
Beauty Meow has a review on Antonia’s Flowers on YouTube, but I’m not sure if it’s that one.
I watched that review which is why I am so curious.
Yes, it used to be lovely.
https://nstperfume.com/2006/01/26/perfume-review-tiempe-passate-by-antonias-flowers/
I saw a bottle on Ebay for a ridiculous price. Thanks for the link!
YES! I was introduced to Tiempe Passate by another dear NSTer. And I would look at Antonia’s Flowers website and think about ordering it. Then when I decided to place an order, whomp. The same time AF went out of business. It is a beautiful amber, salty woody masterpiece. ? Decanters don’t seem to have it either.
It it similar to Eau des Merveilles?
Their website still says that they are on hiatus? If they are done, I am surprised that they haven’t cleaned that up.
Yes you’re right, I meant to correct that and put “hiatus”. It’s very different from EdMerveilles. I’ve been researching for something similar to TP, but haven’t found anything. I’m still pouting ?
Aww…hopefully they’ll come back or .maybe sell like Sonoma.
Much more full bodied than EdM, and with more of a classic perfume feel.
Thanks again Robin!
Sutra Lang sounds lovely. I have Notturno Fiorentino and adore it. Perfect on cold days!
Scent of the moment: Une Fleur de Cassis. I believe someone mentioned that it had dried fruit notes.
Should be *Cassie. According to Angela’s review, it has apricot among quite a number of floral and spice notes.
Noting that last night I sprayed Diptyque Eau Rose on a bit of ribbon and put it in the “vinaigrette” locket. (That was the one from the Solid Oak steampunk costume jewelry line that had the openwork front.) I had a nice rose scent come from that for some time.
It reminded me of the Diptyque Prêts-à-Parfumer line with the stickers and cord bracelets and brooches, but much cheaper. Their cord bracelet is actually a foot or two(?) of cord inside a container that imbues the cord with fragrance, so a suitable length can be pulled out, cut, and fashioned into a bracelet. I think it’s supposed to make over 30 bracelets. Still, it seemed expensive to me.
Recently at Walmart, I saw a locket along the same lines — openwork front, accompanied by several felt discs that could be impregnated with essential oil. Apparently it’s a trend. 🙂
Yes, the wearables seem to come and go!
Bath: used LUSH Vanilliary wash card and coconut-scented shampoo. The tub and I smell like vanilla. (lol) I think that’s enough for now.
Scent of the evening: My experiments with a sample vial of Serge Lutens Santal Blanc ended up with a bit of the fragrance transferred safely to a bottle, and a pretty good amount on my wrists and arms, so as not to waste it. The purpose of a sample is to see what the perfume or cologne smells like, and I got that. 🙂 I don’t think I’d wear it every day, but I thought it would be quite nice for every so often.
I opened up my little bottle of LUSH Plum Rain shower gel recently. It seems to work well in the fall for me.
Ah, that’s cool. Sometime I would like to go back to that big LUSH store in King of Prussia. We just need to figure out a time when you and I and your cats are all healthy! I’m sure a day will come. 🙂
Sampling DSH Mahjoun for its date note
Sampling By Rosie Jane scents today… so far no loves…
The power came back on yesterday! And stayed on, even though we got a 8pm robocall last night from PG&E saying that our power was going to be shut off immediately (Bozos. We got no warning calls before the shutoff on Saturday; this time we got several warning calls but no shutoff. I’ll take the latter over the former, but still.) Perhaps we are past this ‘event’?
It finally feels like fall; perhaps it is time to swap out my summer frags for winter… yay!
So glad you have power Pixel! PG&E must be the single most hated entity in CA right now?
Oh yeah.
No loves for me from that line, either. They put gardenia and/or honeysuckle in most of their scents, which gets on my nerves.
I’m glad you got your power back! ?
Yeah I’m getting honeysuckle in lots of them. Which I like (gardenia, not so much), but still, these aren’t really working for me so far.
Glad your power is back! Before moving to CA I didn’t even realize the shut-offs were a thing. Now of course, I see it on the news all of the time.
We’ve had storm-damage shutoffs forever, of course, and I live in a rural-ish area so we’re prepared. But these massive “Public Safety” shutoffs are a new thing this year. Not a fan.
It’s fall in South Florida (well 86 degrees anyway), so I have broken out the third of a bottle of Pomegranate Noir I have left from 2015. I’m finishing it this year for sure.
I’m crying with envy over your temperature.
Joining you, reaching for a kleenex now.
Same. We got snow last night (Chicago area). A lot of it’s gone, but there’s still some on the ground at 3:30 pm, and there’s more in the forecast for tomorrow.
It’s hot! It’s been hot since March. I want to have a fire and cook hotdogs and burn marshmallows black.
I need to live near the equator….I would LOVE hot temps year round!
Gosh, I’d take fall or spring if such a thing was possible.
I can’t say I would like the year-round 12 hours of light and twelve hours of dark every day. I love summer evenings that stay light until 9:30 pm!
And I love summer 6 am sunrise!☉
A dab of Cuir Mauresque with a dab of Nuit de Cellophane layered on top. Neither are my favorites from the SL line, but I was commando coming into work and had little vials of each in my desk drawer, so… I get credit for fruity notes?
Cuir Mauresque especially must have dried fruit, it has everything.
🙂 Mandarin peel, definitely. And fruity shampoo in the Cellophane. Sigh, I struck out in the scent department today. The only thing to do is to go to water zumba this evening and let the chlorine deal with Serge…
Ha, that’ll do the trick!
I really love Cuir Mauresque. Haven’t tried the other but I imagine you smell marvelous.
Thanks for the kind words 🙂 I usually enjoy CM, but it just didn’t seem to be the right choice for today after all. Channeling my inner Scarlett: tomorrow is another day…
Wearing the wrong perfume for the day is like wearing a piece of clothing that isn’t cut right.
SOTD = Gucci Memoire d’une Odeur
Warmer weather is back so I decided to wear this more appropriate for spring / summer perfume.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B4PYp1jh5OZ/?igshid=1tuvhgp8v6q55
In other news, the nose knows. I spoke with La vie est Belle woman and indeed, that was what she wore, in copious amounts. Next time, there may be a more extended conversation regarding other perfumes and would she like to try some…
I was curious as to what responses LizzieB got regarding weighted blankets. I don’t have one but have a fairly heavy throw that whenever I use it (while sitting on a recliner) it pretty much puts me to sleep, so maybe there’s something to it! I don’t know if I can handle the weight when I’m horizontal because I tend to be squirmy and also like the convenience of adding on or peeling blankets.
You smell gteat. That Gucci is sure getting the love. My bottle arrived yesterday but my fragrances are all planned out until the weekend.
Thank you! Enjoy your bottle – it’s a thing of beauty.
I had mentioned we used to use one for my daughter. It was very helpful in helping her fall asleep.
I got one for myself a few months ago and I absolutely love it. I sleep much more soundly.
Do you happen to know what material is used to weigh it down. Does it get lumpy?
Mine is tiny glass beads. It does not get lumpy and I use it every night! I believe mine is 12 pounds and it can be washed in a regular washing machine but I think the super heavy ones cannot be.
I meant to mention something about what you said. I am glad it and also a vest work for your daughter! Have you read “Thinking in Pictures” by Temple Grandin? Ms. Temple is now a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. She herself is autistic and based on her observation and study of animal behavior, she surmised that chutes are calming for animals and decided to experiment with a human version of a chute which I would just call a hug box. It certainly helped her and I think the idea of a weighted blanket is similar to that of a hug box!
Yes! Her story is one reason I didn’t lose hope in the early years of diagnosis.
Not all autistic people can mentally visualize that way. Some have trouble visualizing at all. But firm pressure that the person can control himself or herself does seem to be calming for many on the spectrum.
When the weather is suitable, I like to have layers of blankets. I’ve never tried any blankets weighted with lead or what have you. I’m a rather restless sleeper, though, so I think I might end up fighting it while half-asleep.
I had some “commuting woes” during my flights home, and thought of your posts about them. Can you believe that one guy did NOT fasten his seatbelt at all?!? And none of the flight attendants did anything about it?!? And what is with people taking off their shoes on airplanes?
Un Jardin En Mediterranee for a winter denier.
Perfect.
Smelling wonderful.
SotD is Sycomore edt
Perfect for a cold but sunny autumn day.
oh the EDT! you smell raw and wonderful
Thank you!
I like Sycomore a lot, but not enought to want to add it to my substantial vetiver collection.
It is a beautiful rendition though, so you smell good!
Thank you!
It was one of the first vetiver scents in my collection.
I had a lot of fun visiting the Chanel store to buy it (until a few years ago it was only available there).
Two young women wearing Louboutin heels and a lot of make up were buying a bag there, while I waited for my bottle to get wrapped. I could tell from their strong accent they were from the Rotterdam area.
I felt happily out of place. Haha.
I’m sure I would have felt the same 🙂 I do love a Rotterdam accent though.
Sometimes I wish women would realise what actually happens to feet that are forced into those kinds of shoes. Believe me, I’ve seen the x-rays and it’s not pretty.
My favorite vetiver, you smell yummy!
If I would have had the available funds, I would have happily purchased a bottle of the Sycomore EdT when it was available.
SOTD is provided by a body scrub, Golden Chai by Pacha Soap. It’s a warm vanilla tumeric chai scent for a cloudy morning.
Every day in October is candy corn day to me!
I’ll pass you my candy corn! 🙂
Thank you so much for the well wishes yesterday, I hope I didn’t forget and answered everyone. A more productive day at home filing papers. And since I can apply anything I want I chose the very potent incense TF Sahara Noir, on my sleeves.
I never tried Sahara Noir but I looked up the description/notes and it sounds amazing.
It’s a very strong incense, it got discontinued so quickly (sigh) even though Tom Ford now has nothing like it in its collections.
sigh…
It was discontinued? I loved it and kept meaning to buy it. And that damn mushroom sugar smelling thing lives on. It’s not fair at all.
Oh my gosh you smell fantastic! I know I’ve said this before, but I can still see myself standing in line to purchase SN, but the line was just long enough, it gave me time to change my mind. Ugh.. I never saw it again.
Sorry about this, we always seem to remember the perfumes that got away more than the ones we do have.
Sorry to hear about your ankle, and I hope that you are up and about in short order!
Thank you, Jalapeno, it’s a little bit better today.
Wearing Tom Ford Vert Boheme.
Lovely any time of year!!
So nice, so easy and lovely!
Spent most of the day doing my not fun stuff and spent the day commando. Now it’s time for relaxing and picking out a perfume to wear. I am so happy that my Ulta package came today. I am looking at Coromandel for my SOTD.
Hope you have a fragrant, relaxing evening!
Yay for taking care of unpleasant tasks! I hope they aren’t recurring ones.
Continuing my Well-Behaved Week with VCA Bois d’Iris, which is now down to a skin scent, therefore even more well-behaved.
One of my favs. I think you smell spectacular!
Hiram Green Slowdive because of the dried fruit note. This is only my second time wearing it, and I’m enjoying it much more than I did the first time. It’s really hitting the spot today.
I love Slowdive, you smell great.
In my favorite leather, Byredo Rodeo.
I never knew they had a leather!
Botrytis, for its notes of dried and candied fruits. I am no big gourmand lover, but i like this a lot.
Really good scent!!
I’m testing Slumberhouse Ore and Kilian Woman in Gold today. They are both pleasant.
Pleasant but I’m guessing not FB worthy for you?
Oh, I like them well enough to buy, although many people on Fragrantica say Woman in Gold smells just like Rochas Tocade, which costs 1/10th of what Woman in Gold does, so I ordered a sample of Tocade to compare. 🙂
I’m commando again today.
Yesterday, I tried and got besotted with Chanel Paris-Venice. I’m fairly certain I was looking for a bit of olfactory comfort, and this fit the bill. Didn’t buy it. Yet. We all know what can happen with sudden crushes.
Venice is not my usual sort of thing, as I haven’t habitually worn sweet fragrances. Of course, ‘sweet’ has practically been redefined in the last few years, as fragrances (and desserts) have gotten more and more intensely sweet – or is that just me? At any rate, I’m more sweet-tolerant than I was previously, and feeling like I’ve earned a bit of a treat.
Excuse me, I have to go over-analyze this some more…
Dooooo it! I love that one, so I can’t talk you off the ledge haha.
Nothing wrong at all with pondering a sudden perfume crush.
Gucci Memoire blah blah blah, lol from a sample
Twins! How do you like or hate it?
I didn’t like it at first, pretty sure it was the green, almondy note..but it grew on me after trying it a few times as I noticed it just wasn’t all about the green and now I like it. Sephora has a 10 ml I am interested in…perhaps a stocking stuffer for myself lol.
Vanille Insensee for my interview this morning. I think it went well, we will see.
That’s work off so I’ve dabbled Taklamakan for a cold afternoon. I love this and will be sorely disappointed when my sample runs out!
I hope it went well! You smell fantastic!
Vanille Insensee was a lovely summertime perfume for me a few years ago. I bet it works great in California.
Every good interview gets you that much closer to your new job!
Hello NST! I was one of the lucky people who managed to fly out of Denver International Airport yesterday. I was returning from dealing with some “family stuff”, namely helping my brother set up her will, and prepaying her funeral expenses. I am exhausted from both travel, and the adulting involved.
SOTD = commando. Didn’t bring any perfume with me on the trip. I didn’t want anything to pick up a potentially bad association.
Jalapeno!
I’m glad you are home safe, but very sorry to hear of your family stuff. Sending hugs to you.
Hello there lillyjo! This stuff has been going on for a year now. It feels good to have finally put some tasks on the “Done” list. Thanks for the hugs.
Also sending *hugs*. It sounds stressful, but also like you got some things settled. Welcome home!
Nice to see your post Jalapeno and glad you are home safely. Adulting is no fun so I hope you choose a relaxing scent to help you unwind.
Thanks Petunia! I took a red-eye flight home, so a relaxing scent would have put me right to sleep this morning. I drank more caffeine than my usual today. ☕
It’s always nice to be home. More hugs to you.
Thank you madtowngirl! I am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, even though my brother’s guest bedroom is quite comfy.
I was about to say I am missing jalapeno’s late posts but it was too early to send out an APB. Glad you got what you needed to do done!
My brother and I agreed that getting those things done was a huge weight off our shoulders. It was a very busy trip.
Welcome home! I hope you spray yourself with something wonderful to relax a bit.
Thanks, Gail! I will definitely pick something special tomorrow for SOTD.
I’ve missed you, Jalapeno! I’m so sorry for the real stuff you have had to deal with.
You can always buy (or be gifted with) a new perfume that reminds you of someone special, in a nice way. My Dad described me as happy. Guess what has become one of those perfumes I wear the most? Happy. ? it makes me smile and think of him.
To think I was going to whine about another fake perfume from Ebay.
Welcome home. ?
Good to hear from you, Jalapeno, hope everything went as smoothly as possible, not much fun though. You’re back in time for the CP 🙂
Sotd is Keiko Mecheri A Fleur de Peau. I wasn’t to sure about it over the summer, but today, the first day of snow, it smells pretty good. Snow didn’t last, but will return tomorrow.
Speaking of tomorrow, I will be having my stupid cracked tooth pulled in the morning. I’m very very nervous. Fingers crossed it is over quick.
It’s remarkable how perspective can change about a scent depending on the season.
Ugh, good luck with your tooth!
I hope it goes quick for you lillyjo!
Good luck tomorrow, lillyjo!
I’ve found quite a difference in certain scents considering the weather and humidity. Different notes become apparent.
Good luck tomorrow! I hope you will feel better when your tooth is out. I’d rather have something pulled than filled.
Good luck with having your cracked tooth taken out tomorrow! I hope it goes nice and easy for you. ?
Good luck with the dentist!
Thanks All!
Fingers crossed Lillyjo, for everything to go smoothly. Maybe, reward yourself afterwards.
Hope it will be quick
Oh.My.Gosh. I am in Alahiiiiiiine today
(where are you LTSG??). This is A FB bought on sale /steal from Teo Cabanel that I’d waited for for over a year and it arrived today.
It is really fabulous. I loved it, the opening still reminds me of how I always thought Chanel No.5 would smell without the aldehydic effect. Oh this is so french, so crisp and elegant. There is something in the opening that reminds me of the original AuDela. I must review the notes. Gosh this is beautiful.
LTSG wanted to see if the reformulation changed it I don’t know, it feels the same to me, it is still a stunner. I am thrilled.
Nice! Enjoy your new bottle!
Thanks Petunia.
Someone’s in looooovvve ???
?
I am commando today. Every bottle of fragrance is packed to move or gifted. All samples finally mailed off.
Have two vials of le labo The Noir 29 to wear to see my sister tomorrow and for my visit with her.
I have a bottle of it in my shopping cart at Nordies and a gift card so we shall see if it’s a keeper.
Did my walk through with realtor this morning and hadn’t seen her in several weeks – she commented I looked waifish! I can hardly wait to see my sis at the airport tomorrow! Actually, I can hardly wait for her to see the slimmer me:)
Scent twins with you today apsara. ?
Have a great time with your sister!
How nice!
Sprayed on Alien, the leather version. I just love the bottle!
There is supposed to be dried fruit notes, but I’m not sensing any yet so I layered a bit of L’Occitane Date Bouquet hand cream on top.
I have that perfume too! It is an awesome bottle, isn’t it?
I don’t get any dried fruit notes from the leather version of Alien either.
I don’t get any either. You smell wonderful regardless!
No CP points for me this week, I don’t think I have any perfumes with a dried fruit note. In Chanel No. 19 today, I can’t decide if I like it but certainly appreciate it, if that makes sense?
It took a couple of wearings before I loved 19. It’s a beauty for sure.
SOTD:
Fake off Ebay. ?
I imagine no one is awake, but why not ask? What could be giving me such horrible burning rash in the fake juice? Just trying to figure out what my allergy is, so I can avoid it at.
It stinks. The perfume.
That’s not nice. I once got a fake of vintage Coco, but it was only watered down and not toxic
I couldn’t look myself in the mirror doing that.
Vintage sets us back.
I feel for the real sellers.
Oh, dear. That’s adding insult to injury, or the reverse. Hope you can get your money back. For a rash — I’d say for the external part try Calamine lotion or an aloe preparation (if you’re not allergic to aloe). Internally for an allergic reaction, Benedryl tablets (generic: diphenhydramine). Ouch all around, though. Sheesh.
Thank you. I took your advice on the benadryl and sucked it up till it started.
Very kind of you.?
My guess is some form of fig in that juice- just a guess.
