Diptyque holiday candles 2019

Posted by Robin on 21 October 2019 5 Comments

Diptyque has introduced their Holiday 2019 candle collection, Porte Bonheur, decorated by Olaf Hajek.

Working in collaboration with German illustrator and author, Olaf Hajek, Diptyque delivers messages of luck, protection and harmony through the medium of scent with three lucky charm candles. Burn Flora Fortuna for good luck, Ambre Félicité to encourage harmony, and Pin Protecteur for protection – then make a wish before you extinguish the flame to put the ingredients to work.

Flora Fortuna (above left; red) ~ "Our Lucky Flower candle brings good luck to those who light it. Its notes of rose, clove and anise are used to start the year off on the right note. Symbols of good fortune from around the world such as the four-leaf clover and maneki-neko cat adorn this candle, while the red color brings us the energy needed to seize its luck."

Ambre Félicité (above center; blue) ~ "Burn our Blissful Amber candle to find serenity and balance. The scent mixes amber, geranium and lavender, with the softness of musk. Our lucky charms, the horseshoe, the holly branch and the ladybug, as well as the color blue, spread the message of serenity and wisdom for the festive season and the year to come."

Pin Protecteur (above right; green) ~ "Our Protective Pine Candle will cover those who light it with it's [sic] protective aura, featuring notes of Siberian and Balsam fir, cedar, and aromatic notes of basil and sage. Our lucky charms-- the shooting star, the dream catcher and the beetle—decorate this green candle, the color of hope, against malevolent spirits."

The Diptyque Flora Fortuna, Ambre Félicité and Pin Protecteur candles are available in 70g mini (burn time 30 hours) or 190g ($72; burn time 60 hours). There are also coffrets in both sizes, and the annual candle carousel (you can see 2018's here) has returned as well.

Update: the 70g candle is $38, the 3 x 70g coffret is $114, and a Pin Protecteur room spray is $72 for 150 ml.

There is a ladybug on the candle carousel too, which comes in two sizes and several coffrets that include the candle. You can almost certainly buy it separately but not sure that one is out yet.

Pretty candle holders. They took signs of good luck from all over the world. I guess they thought the designs would include something for everyone.
