Diptyque will launch Les Essences de Diptyque, a new collection of five fragrances inspired by 'nature's overlooked wonders': Bois Corsé, Corail Oscuro, Lilyphéa, Lunamaris and Rose Roche.
Bois Corsé ~ Developed by perfumers Nathalie Cetto and Olivier Pescheux. Inspired by forest trails and wood bark, a woody amber with sandalwood, tonka bean and coffee notes. [Bois Corsé tells a tale of bark, the vital protective mantle that shields the vulnerable core of the tree. Exposed to the elements, it takes shape over time, developing relief textures that are coarse, irregular and yet pleasing to the touch. Bois Corsé offers a blend of black coffee absolute, sandalwood and tonka bean that feels like an invitation to trace the knotty grain of the bark.]
Corail Oscuro ~ Developed by perfumer Alexandra Carlin. Inspired by corals, a mineral floral focusing on mandarin. Additional notes include rose. [Corail Oscuro speaks of coral, flourishing across the bed of the Venetian lagoon. Its intricate red patterns ripple to the rhythm of the waters, the vibrant colour contrasting with the opacity of the depths. Renaissance painters had a name for this interplay of light and dark: chiaroscuro ... and this in turn inspired the name of Corail Oscuro Eau de Parfum. In this perfume, mandarin is infused with rose bourbon absolute and carried by a salty mineral accord.]
Lilyphéa ~ Developed by perfumers Nathalie Cetto and Olivier Pescheux. Inspired by water lilies in impressionist paintings, a green amber with vanilla, cardamom, ginger and green notes. [Lilyphéa celebrates the water lily – that remarkable aquatic plant, rising from the depths of a pond to reveal its beauty to the world. On glittering waters, it floats majestically. A dreamlike vision, captured in a fragrance that combines cardamom, violet leaves and vanilla.]
Lunamaris ~ Developed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin. Inspired by mother of pearl, a spicy amber with rockrose, pink pepper and incense. [Lunamaris conjures up mother of pearl – a natural treasure symbolic of purity. It forms in concealment, hidden away inside a shell. Once revealed, its delicate beauty exerts a delightful fascination. The changing, iridescent colours of mother of pearl are expressed in a fragrance that blends notes of pink peppercorn, incense and rockrose.]
Rose Roche ~ Developed by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin. Inspired by the desert or sand rose, a citrus floral with lemon, rose, ambrox and patchouli. [Rose Roche evokes the desert rose, a bloom shaped by air, water and the sun. Exposed to the winds of the desert, over time this mineral, crystalline flower develops its graphic and distinctive contours. In this perfume, lemon notes meet those of centifolia rose and patchouli.]
Diptyque Bois Corsé, Corail Oscuro, Lilyphéa, Lunamaris and Rose Roche will debut in September, in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. There will also be a five x 10 ml discovery set.

Update: descriptions in brackets above are via Diptyque.
They are pricey but I’m excited to smell them. Lunamaris sounds intriguing.
It’s been a long time since I loved a new Diptyque, but I’ll certainly smell them if I see them.
10 ml discovery set FTW! 😍
did you see a discovery set on their site?
Yes!
I bet they will be around $300. They are refillable as from what I have heard. Bois Corsé sounds lovely. I will see if I can snatch the 10 ml discovery set.
From Hypebeast: “ The individual fragrances will come in 100ml sizes, retailing for $2,500 HKD (approx. $320). In addition, a Discovery set consisting of all five scents in 10ml bottles will also be purchaseable for $1,600 HKD (around $205 USD).”
I almost guess the price.
I think I will skip the sample package. Too expensive (for me) for 5 10 ml bottles.
Thank you for the info 🙂
These sound good to me. Dang, there goes the no buy if the discovery set has nice spray bottles and not dabber bottles.
I’m in!
As always I am turned off by the simultaneous release of a bunch of offerings and by the somewhat insipid sounding descriptions. Sorry to sound so snarky. I get annoyed by the vague language of things being “inspired by” xyz. It gives me an image of some business executive hiring a team and saying “Now go out and be inspired by… a river/sunset/hayfield/painting/memory/photograph/plant/queen/murder/shipwreck/whale…. you-name-it”. InspirationsRUs!
Prices are too high. Sigh
The bottle for Corail Oscuro is gorgeous. Pretty sure I will never see any of these.
