It's Monday, World Standards Day and National Dessert Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm starting with dessert, in Hermès Vetiver Tonka.
Reminder: on 10/18, wear a fragrance by Maria Candida Gentile, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier, Memo Paris or Miller et Bertaux if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter M.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is from the Hermès Fall Winter 2019 campaign.
Wearing Calyx (Prescriptives), which is such a wonderful pick me up.
I have a few MPG’s so I’m good for this week.
You smell great Robin, Vetiver Tonka was one of my unexpected favourites when I tried a whole bunch of Hermessences last year.
I miss Prescriptives. Caylx is so wonderful, and they had great make up.
They did. It was a good makeup line.
I agree. My all time favorite blush is from Prescriptives.
I don’t wear make up, so can’t comment as to that, but Prescriptives Calyx is a brilliant scent. It’s so cheerful and bracing. The new Calyx is good, but a tad sweeter.
I love Calyx! You smell great! I got a bub last year of Calyx by Prescriptives.
I’m so glad I got mine when I did, I’ve kept it in the fridge from the start and it still smells just like it did when I first got it.
And you smell fantastic too of course! Calyx is great stuff.
It was your review (and the 5 ⭐︎ in The Guide) persuaded me to blind buy it.
Calyx is definitely a great pick me up! I’m glad I got the Prescriptives version when I could.
It is just so good. Glad you have a bottle as well.
I’m wearing De Bachmakov, which is really lovely.
Agree! I love that one and wore it this past weekend.
It’s 24, Faubourg for me today.
you smell very elegant
Thank you! I don’t feel very elegant today so I’m hoping my perfume will keep people fooled.
You smell so wonderful!
Very pretty SOTD!
interesting ad for todays photo
I am having an Italian morning…
SOTD is the last few drops of GF Ferre, I am thinking of hunting down an extra large sample of this.
I was at my favorite bookstore Strand and popped into one of the consignment shops right near there and picked up a beautiful Missoni dress, Prada flats all less than 100 bucks. Part of my Italian morning. Now that the kids are outside with Mr L, I am going to practice my I verbi irregolari
I think I wore Ferre for a short while, before falling down the rabbit hole — tall-ish, fluted-glass bottle? It had too much gardenia for me, ultimately, but somehow I managed to finish the bottle.
Hmm, it appears the one I wore was called “Gianfranco Ferre Gianfranco Ferre”, as opposed to “Gianfranco Ferre Ferre”. So confusing. Anyway, there’s a picture of the one I wore here: https://www.perfume.com/gianfranco-ferre/gianfranco-ferre/women-perfume. Will have to investigate yours.
very confusing, but beautiful bottle.
The one ltsg is wearing is the 2005 version:
And they are super confusing with the names!
I like it!
What did you think of it?
I liked it, but got that decant mostly for science, lol. It has been compared a lot to Frederic Malle Iris Poudre which I used to have. I do think they smell similar (same perfumer) and I actually liked the GF a little more. Ultimately I stopped reaching for the FM and the GF so both were sent off to new homes.
The art direction at Hermes is sort of amazing, although in the end it generally has the effect of making me not want the perfect products. But that’s true of many high end fashion lines.
I’m in several sprays of Dune this morning since I have the house to myself until madtownteen gets home from school. Just about got t-boned taking her to school this morning. I just love it when people fly through red lights without even bothering to look. Sheesh.?
its so dangerous!
I had that happened while I was crossing the streets with the little ones, this van ran the red light, lucky he didn’t plow into us. this is not the first, and some days I wonder how we are still alive.
It is dangerous! Just last year here an elderly couple were out walking their dog and we hit by an out of control driver. The man was killed. So sad. You wouldn’t think you would be taking your life in your own hands just by walking. Stay safe out there with the kiddos ltsg!
Dune is so good this time of year.
I hope you’ve recovered from the near-accident! I’ve had a couple of close calls and they really shake me up.
Dune feels just perfect today! Sun, blue skies and golden colored leaves everywhere. ??
Day off twins! Glad you weren’t hit!
You smell perfect ?
Woo hoo!?? Enjoy your day off! Hope the sun is out for you too.
Yikes, so scary! Happy it was a miss, but still so unnerving. I hate irresponsible drivers and they abound here. Running stop signs here is the norm ?
I’m right there with you, bad drivers drive me crazy! The worst thing about it is, it was another parent taking her kid to school!?!?
I would’ve hunted them down and yelled at them. I yelled at a guy a few days ago- we were backing into a parking spot and while the car was moving, this guy zooms in from nowhere right behind us to park his moped and my hubs slammed on the brakes. I got out and cursed at him. He was like “Oh, sorry” ?♂️.
Did he take over the spot that your car was supposed to be at? That’s double offense!
That’s what caused my car to get totaled a couple of years ago. Elderly lady went right through a stoplight at about 50 mph and hit me. It was so scary and I’m so happy you avoided being hit!
Oh and you smell great!
I remember you posting about that! It is so scary and when you see it coming and know that there is nothing you can do to stop it. It is like your life flashes before your eyes. A few years ago when my daughter was still booster seat age, we got hit at an intersection. A young guy tried to run the light and take a left into oncoming traffic- me. We were both fine, he just clipped the front of my minivan, but I vividly remember getting out and the first thing I said to him was “My daughter was in the car!!”? I am generally a nice person, but when someone messes with one of my kids, the claws come out.
Mr. Jalapeno almost got T-boned on Saturday. A clueless/distracted driver ran a red light when he had a green one. Fortunately, Mr. Jalapeno was paying attention and slammed on the brakes. A near-miss. No damage.
Sounds about like what happened to us. Glad it was a near miss for Mr. Jalapeno!
Definitely a good thing that the both of you were not hit!
So scary. I was in 2 T-bone accidents, cars totaled and not a scratch on me – miracle! My dad was in one where another driver ran a red light to make a left onto Rte 1 South when my dad was already halfway through the intersection. I don’t know how he survived with only 2 fractured ribs but he stopped driving after that which changed his life a lot (he used to go to Wegmans 2x a day to walk and generally to socialize with the the workers and other regulars) and he was reliant on others to get him there and back which severely cut down his visits.
The accident was the last time he drove? It must have been a very traumatic experience for him to give up his wegman visits and I’m sure it was a hard decision for him to make. I (knock on wood) have never been in a really bad accident, I can’t imagine.
Were you driving cars with airbags in your accidents? That is amazing. My car has a very high safety rating, but I hope I never have to find that out.?
It felt like an Aftelier Amber Tapestry morning to me today. I just reordered her Jasmine Face Elixir (again!), I am truly addicted to this stuff.
Her body and skincare products are so lovely.
Gucci Memoire d’Une Odeur today. My Sephora sample is just about gone. Now the question – do I want a rollerball or an FB?
Either way, ULTA has their twenty percent coupon out right now, good on fragrance. Just sayin..?
You are so enabling me! Lol, I saw that coupon in my inbox this morning and it’s definitely part of my calculation.
Plus, if you have points banked, use those! ?
That’s not being evil, that’s smart shopping!
I second lilyjo with Ulta. If they sell it and use the 20% coupon, get the roller ball.
… or if you know someone with access to Duty-Free, I heard there’s a super-cute 40mL bottle.
Burberry Weekend, which is no match for the cold weather, but I was feeling it anyway. It’s about time to put her and her springy friends away for the winter
Such a bummer. I’m a total warm weather girl.
Solstice Scents Estate Lavender again today which I tried last week.
Lots of lavender up front mixed with some violet and plenty of vanilla in the drydown.
you are a vanilla queen
I’d go as far to say that She-ra is THE vanilla queen. Just my 2 cents.
Hi SheRa, I checked them out and am very impressed. I decided I had to try the 5 mls of badlands. They are an interesting house for sure. Great logo too. Thanks!
The Fall line-up will launch sometime next week!
It is actually supposed to launch this Weds night 10/16 but they may push it to Thurs per her response on FB, “We are shooting for Wednesday night but will announce officially on Tuesday if we are a go for that time. It will definitely be this week- Wednesday or Thursday. We will announce on social media and via newsletter.” ? ?
I am but a conduit. ? they are very interesting…lots of stimulation for my nose and brain. ?
Chanel No 19 EDP, courtesy of the swap meet
My tea is Himalayan Green
You smell fabulous!
You smell awesome.
I have yet to try the EdP, but I very much enjoy No. 19 EdT.
?. You smell wonderful!
Shower the. A bit of the Brazilian Bum Bum cream on my elbows and arms, followed up by sprays of Kiss Me Intense. I really enjoy the bitter almond that muffles sweetness.
Long walk yesterday through West Village, down the Hudson, through the Winter Garden and then over to Water and Wall to catch the bus home. No sniffing, but I did buy a soft light gray/green wool beret and my husband bought a dapper wool felt hat with a fairly small brim. And added a subtle feather.
I will say that few people do brunch as well as New Yorkers. They can drag it out for hours, especially on a day when sitting outside is pleasant.
I love the smell of Bum Bum cream. How do you find it for moisturizing?
It’s quite good. I just got a small one so mostly use on elbows and arms. Or sometimes on chest to get more of the scent..
Your day yesterday sounds marvelous.
Wearing Tom Ford Ombre Leather.
Please forgive the rambling post. I am getting low on the Amouage Lyric body butter and I am looking to replace it soon and went poking around the internet to see who had the best prices for it. I was really surprised that Walmart is selling Amouage on their website. Would I buy Amouage from Walmart? Nope, I don’t know how legit it is but they aren’t selling the body butter of Lyric. But I am not having a lot of luck finding the body butter for a reasonable price. Today, filming for a couple clips of the new Liam Neeson movie started filming around my house. My house, dogs and I will not be in it but the filming is a couple minutes away from my house. Spending the day in Amouage Lyric today.
That’s exciting about the movie! I hope you find a good deal for your body butter. I’ve seen some perfumes I wanted at Wal-Mart site too, but they use 3rd party sellers, so like you said, didn’t want to risk it.
I’ve been striking out this far. The best price I have seen is from Beauty Encounter for $68.
Day off! Today I am finally getting to smell and wear Mitsouko. Thank you Petunia! I’ve read and heard so many conflicting opinions, I was a little nervous, but I really like it. For some reason I thought it was going to be a giant perfume, like superstitious. I’m finding it quite lovely. Similar in feel to vintage Cabochard. Today is the day to tackle paperwork. So far, I have procrastinated by cleaning the kitchen, bathroom and 2 loads of laundry . Plus have an early lunch. LOL!
That doesn’t sound like procrastinating to me, it just sounds like a different kind of work.? Hope you can sit back and enjoy your day off soon.
Thanks!, I’m taking frequent NST breaks, obviously. Lol
Enjoy your day off Lillyjo, and you smell marvellous. Do you also like Chamade?
I’ve never tried it. The only Guerlain around here is Shalimar and Mon Guerlain. Even back in the day, I never saw anything else, except Insolence, and that didn’t last.
That makes it really difficult for you to smell the classics, Mitsouko, Chamade, l’Heure Bleue and Jicky are pretty much indispensable in my book. Chamade is sister to Annick Goutal Grand Amour, they both have galbanum, so there is a green element to them, but the florals and drydown (the guerlinade) of Chamade are more beautiful imo. Crossing fingers you can experience them soon.
That’s quite a trade-off for paperwork?. Glad you have a day off today; hope you can relax a bit!
I despise looking at all the papers I have to deal with. I’d rather do dishes ?
You’re making me feel guilty about the papers ‘staring’ at me on the living room table.
Mine have been staring at me so long, they started migrating to the dining table!
Sounds like your day off has been a productive one, paperwork or not. Which version of Mitsouko are you trying? It is supposed to be quite different between concentrations.
Ahh thanks, I wasn’t sure.
I think Mitsouko can be very polarizing but I am glad you like it!
I really do!
Mondays. They emphasize for me just how much I need to be retired.
Commando right now, but finishing up laundry, then shower. Planning on wearing Casmir. Still snow on the ground here but it’s supposed to be in the 50’s by the end of the week. Our favorite park is mostly flooded…☹️
T-Rex looks seriously disgusted by the whole situation.
I forget whether T-Rex swims? Your weather sounds a little uncomfortable, esp. in a van. Good thing it will get a bit warmer towards the end of the week.
Wow, that looks COLD!!!
Sampling Pale Fire from Maison Anonyme. It is very smooth
I really like that perfume but never see the brand mentioned. The packaging is great too. I bought all three travel sizes when they had a sale.
Happy Indigenous Day!
1) Am in Solar Bloom because it was what I could grab. BUT it is a also a sunny (but chilly) fall morning- so although it smells of summer, it will go well with the day!
2) At LAST the major database transfer we were supposed to have 3 years ago took place…with fires to put out! Oy vey!
Oh yuck to the DB transfer! Big changes like that can be such a pain. I hope your week goes well, or quickly, at least!
SOTD are the last dregs of my Cafe Noir mini…. I smell so good!
Update on my “A Woman of No Importance” musings about what perfume Virginia Hall wore (American woman who was an SOE agent in WWII supplying and organizing the French Resistance)–the author wrote me back! . . . She writes:
“[W]hat an interesting question!
“Alas I do not know the exact name of the perfume she liked. Just that when she was on operations in Haute Loire – despite the hardships she endured – she liked to wear what some of her fighters considered ‘expensive’ French scent. Mind you washing was not easy! She was, however, a fastidious woman who loved style and dressing up and was a striking figure. Quite a few of the maquisards were in love with her, for sure.
“If I ever find out more, I will let you know
My money is on Jicky, but who knows?
Off to spend the day helping my younger son put together his oral presentation on Radical Reconstruction and the Black Codes…. this is a holiday? What? Really?????
That is so cool that she wrote you back!?
Yay, that is just lovely, an author responding!
Thanks for reporting back!
How awesome that you received a reply from the author! ?
I am wearing Safari
It smells like its from another era but its okay, its the escapism i desperately need right now! I have a hard time coping with politics and news right now. It hits me harder than ever.
So at the moment i just use the internet to stare at pics of cute cats and dogs, and to read about perfume and history. ☺️
I watch dachshund videos for the same reason. And Pride and Prejudice.
You must know the Crusoe the Dachshund Channel right?!
Usually i am not a fan of animals in clothing, but i just cant help laughing out loud at these vids.
Pride & prejudice….so many versions to chose from
I’m a massive fan of the 1995 version, and not just because of Colin Firth ( or so I tell myself ).
I do know that channel and it is hilarious. Still I prefer to watch wirehaired dogs filmed while tracking. I know I’m slightly barmy.
I used to dress my dachsie in custom made sweaters when it was really cold.
Ah Yesss Colin Firth, I prefer that version as well. Though I havent seen them all….
I grew up with a mini wirehaired dachshund (and lots of other pets) ‘wildkleur’….
She was adorable and very smart.
And now my mother has another wirehaired one, not a mini but a normal size. I think the colour is called ‘rood’/red though to me it looks more like a strawberry blonde.
I always feel sorry for them when they have to walk through the snow and ice. So i totally get why you have them some sweaters. They probably look cute as a button as well
Mine was a standard wirehair in Saufarben (wildzwijnkleur), brindle. Your mums dog is called tarwekleurig in Dutch and red in English.
She did look very cute and I would often find her surrounded by elderly ladies discussing her comfortable jumper with her, whenever she had had to wait for me outside a shop.
My two cents–I would love the Colin Firth version the most, except I HATE the choice of actress who plays Jane Bennet. To me, she is totally wrong for the part. I get irritated every time she is on the screen.
It’s awful when that happens. She doesn’t bother me at all, but I know how something like that can really alter your perception of the whole. It actually took me a while to like the 1995 version as I had already watched an earlier BBC adaptation (the one from 1980).
I happen to get really irritated by Keira Knightley (for reasons unknown even to myself) and have therefore never watched the entire film. Also, I think one would have to really cut a lot out of the story to squash it into a film. The book seems to lend itself more to a tv-series.
Ah! glad to read I am not the only one with a small Keira Knightley Allergy
(Also for reasons unknown to myself haha)
Have you seen videos of dogs running agility courses? The best are the little 12 and under handlers running the small dogs. Sooo cute.
No, not really, but I can imagine it being fun to watch.
A friend of mine breeds miniature Schnauzers and one of her dogs has done agility and excelled at it. I always love it when owners of small dogs treat them as real dogs and take the trouble to do an activity with them.
Love Pride & Prejudice. That’s just great escapism technique. I do the same. ?
Safari reminds me a little of Balmain Ivoire 1st version, you smell great.
I never smelt that version of Ivoire, but I bet it is glorious.
If you have smelled and liked Silences, it is similar to that.
No holiday day for me so just another Monday, though fairly quiet work-wise. Which is good because I think I’ve come down with a slight cold, it’s mild but enough to feel low-level icky. Went with refreshing and light in Institut Tres Bien Cologne a l’Italienne.
Uh oh, did you get your flu shot recently? I’m procrastinating til Oct. 31, which is the deadline for me, lol.
Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you! I did get one at work a few weeks ago. This is definitely not in the flu realm. Might just be allergies, too. Sometimes they feel as bad as a cold.
Maybe if you can get enough rest tonight, you can stop the cold from getting worse. Fingers crossed.
Thanks lillyjo! I’ll try to get to sleep early for a change. I’m also taking mega doses of vitamin C and zinc which I think has helped shorten my colds in the past to like 3 days.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that you might be fighting off the crud. Take it easy. ??
Feel better soon!
Thank you Petunia!
SOTD = Papillon Bengale Rouge
I was going to wear small M’s this whole week but the call of Bengale Rouge was too strong. Here’s my take on today’s wearing:
In other news, I found my colander at Home Goods. It’s a professional grade stainless steel with larger holes (but not large enough for noodles to escape).
I hope everyone is having a good day!
You smell great!
Before i empty my sample, i am going to wear it with a scarf, so i can enjoy it a bit longer!
Good idea. It is FB worthy!
Yup, its a top contender for next buy. At the moment I dont have a budget for perfume, because of the ‘no job situation’.
But as soon as my bank account shows some healthy numbers again….its shopping time ..
Your comment under the photo made me lol! You just can’t escape those bad odors!
I know, right? The worst part was I was eating when the odor wafted by. Yuck!
Glad to hear that your colander search is over! Very dream-like feeling to your Instagram today, IMO.
Thank you. That blanket actually has a fuzzy pattern and the filter actually emphasized the best of both items!
You smell phenomenal even if those around you do not! Great photo!
It’s 46 here now and I’m cold. In honor of National Dessert Day (Is there a national dessert? Apple pie? Pumpkin pie?) I’m making a bread pudding after I run around doing errands and making phone calls to find a new cleaner. I’m wearing Slowdive. Might use honey instead of sugar in the pudding.
It’s apple pie! Here is proof
Lol! I sing this in my head every now and then.
Ha! I love it.? Is that a Chevy Vega?
Bread pudding sounds like an excellent choice for National Dessert Day! ?
Trying my new sample of Parfums de Nicolai Cap Neroli. It was recommended when I expressed an interest in exploring citrus chypres. The delicious top notes are ephemeral but it’s drying down wonderfully.
I need to try that one again. I do like it but think everyone else loves it more than I do.
The name of that perfume sounds so nice when you pronounce it..
A point for CF, always.
I’m house twins with Robin today. Only difference is that I’m wearing Le Jardin de Monsieur Li.
Ah, and maybe I will wear that later this week
It’s Thanksgiving in Canada today, so it’s a day off here for me. We did our dinner yesterday so now can have a quiet day today.
Just showered and I am now enjoying Chanel No. 5 body oil layered with the matching body creme.
Mr L, who is Canadian, we celebrated by going out for Mexican
Yim, that sounds great! I love Mexican food!
Silly autocorrect.. yum, not yim!
Did you get the Friday off too? Enjoy the day, you smell divine!
Happy Thanksgiving ?
I worked on Friday, but I’m off this Friday. So 3 days of work this week. I decided to go big today with both versions?
Enjoy your Thanksgiving, Gail! ?
Thank you Jalapeno! My hubby usually does the turkey and stuffing! I did the rest and also home made dessert with lots of butter and real whipped cream.
We had my hubby’s parents over so it was great fun! The best part is all the leftovers.
Marginally less rain today, and the sun made a few apparitions. I chose l’Air de Rien, it’s a persistent little number but fortunately for the office it wears quite close, half an arm length I would say. It’s a scent I wear in the colder months.
Dessert day but I will only have some granola late evening.
You could top the granola with a little whipped cream…?
don’t tempt me.
A little whipped cream sounds healthy compared to a big scoop of your favorite ice cream to go with said granola! ??
It’s really just a tasty garnish!
Bigger M in Mona do Orio Nuit Noire today.
Follow up with a podiatrist this afternoon to make sure my toe is healing properly. Fingers crossed!
I hope you get a good report from the podiatrist. You smell fabulous in Nuit Noire. Clarissa generously sent me some during the swapmeet, and it is so rich and spicy. ❤️
Fingers crossed and positive vibes that you get good news from the podiatrist! ?
?hope your toe is on the mend!
Hope you get a good report!
Jicky for my first day at work after the holidays. Chickpea pancakes and tomato salad for dinner…
Jicky! Fabulous. Chickpea pancakes! Delicious.
I went with Prada Infusion d’Iris. It’s been so long that I have missed its beautiful simplicity.
Gorgeous simplicity. You smell like heaven.
I’m in MCG Sideris today. Love the spicy sandalwood in this one.
Sideris is a beauty and I love that MCG offer 15 ml bottles.
I agree completely on both points!
Scent of last night and this morning: La Myrrhe. I’m still finding it very lovely.
I got my flu shot this afternoon. That part of my upper arm is aching a bit. I’m right-handed, so I asked for the nurse to give me the shot in my left arm. I’ll report back if any particularly notable side effects hit, but fingers crossed that it will just be a moderate ache in that arm for a couple of days.
Ooof. I hope that the flu shot doesn’t give you any problems.
So far, so good. My arm isn’t even hurting much now. We’ll see how it goes…
La Myrrhe is beautiful!
good on you for getting your flu shot! I skipped mine last year and ended up very sick for six weeks. Could have been inevitable either way, but this year I got my shot as soon as it was available. Oddly, I did have what felt like a mild cold/flu for about a week beginning two days after the shot. But completely worth it if I get through this winter without bronchitis, laryngitis, and asthma like last year, blech.
I hope you have better health this winter! Last winter seemed to be a tough one for many folks. I’m glad you got the flu shot this year, and hope it works for you!
I forgot to add that I inadvertently celebrated Dessert Day at lunchtime with a piece of cherry pie, and then deliberately after dinner with a serving of apple crumble. A friend and I had gone to an Amish farm stand south of Parkesburg, PA on Saturday, which is a day when they have baked goods. I had fun.
It’s kitty update time! Pixel is home! The vet bill is less than I thought it would be, but it still has a comma in it. Pixel has a medicine that she will have to be on for the rest of her life. ?
SOTD = still commando. Too nervous to wear something today. Maybe tomorrow?
Oh so happy for you, and Pixel, too. Bertie Wooster is on a lifetime med that costs $120/refill, so I know the pain.
Wear something celebratory!
I don’t think that the supplement Pixel will be taking is that expansive. It’s a huge tube of goo. And she will have to eat a different food than the other 2 cats.
Bertie Wooster! I adore that name.
I’m so glad your cat is home again!
So glad Pixel Kitty is on the mend!
She wandered around the house for a good part of the afternoon. Hopefully the trend of her getting better continues.
Such great news, and you should get a pin for a stellar pet owner.
Thank you Aurora. That’s incredibly kind of you to say so.
Thats great news! I am happy for you and for Pixel of course
Thanks Jiji! Now the hard part begins… giving Pixel her medicines. She has to be on an antibiotic for 3 weeks.
Your Pixel kitty is a real champ. I’m so glad that she’s home where she belongs. Now you can begin to relax.
Thank you Petunia!
I must have missed a weekend kitty news post, but in any event being home sounds like a good thing! I hope Pixel continues to improve! What does she have to be on permanently?
Long story short, Pixel kitty spent the weekend at the emergency vet for a UTI plus kidney issues. She will have to take a potassium supplement for the rest of her life. It’s maple flavored, and she doesn’t seem to be a fan.
That’s such great news! Glad she’s back home in familiar surroundings!
I hope you can enjoy your perfumes soon.
Thanks Gail! I think I just need a little time to decompress after the weekend’s stress. My perfume mojo isn’t gone, it just took a break.
go, Pixel kitty! =^..^=
so happy for you both!
Thank you, tiffanie!
u r welcome, fragrant friend!
some of the greatest loves of my life
have been my furry family members.
So glad! (But boy, really, a comma??? Sorry about that.)
I’ll wait on a CP perfume until Friday. Today it’s Blocki This Grand Affair. I have a travel spray that my family “gave” me for my birthday.
Nice. My hubs doesn’t know it but he gave me Bengale Rouge. Funny how that works. Happy Birthday! ?
So kind of him ?
Blocki perfumes are special. You smell wonderful.
A bottle of This Grand Affair came my way. It smelled great on paper but it didn’t agree with my skin, so I sent it off to a happy new home.
SOTE is Casmir courtesy of lillyjo. It’s my third evening in a row to wear it and it is a perfect evening scent. So deliciously cozy!
Love Casmir, you smell great!
I’m so glad you like it!
Casmir is one of a kind! I can still remember the first time I smelled it at a perfume counter. You smell lovely.
Thank you tiffanie!
Casmir is a favorite winter comfort scent for me.
SotD = Ambre Narguile
I’ve been wearing AN since last Friday’s apple note CP! I adore this scent, it makes me want to bake an apple pie.
Robin’s SotD reminded me how much I enjoy the Hermessences. Need to get back to wearing Vanille Galante now that winter is coming.
Hope everyone had a fantastic Monday. You all smell wonderful.:D
Tiffanie! Good to see you, you are smelling great!
hey, hey, lillyjo! it’s good to be here, tho I’m always here, just lurking more than talking lately. Sometimes “Life” has a way of geting in the way of important things like perfume, ha!
Hi there! ?
“I’m on my way I’m making it!” LOL
hi to you!
often a “Hi there” reminds me of
Peter Gabriel’s song “Big Time.”
And it always reminds me of Freddie “boom boom” Washington from Welcome back Kotter!?
Today was my work’s annual all-staff meeting instead of being off on Indigenous People’s Day (Seattle has celebrated it in lieu of Columbus Day since 2014). Meeting had good food, some nice activities and speakers, and some very lovely awards were given. I was happy to hear words I’d written nominating fellow employees be read aloud as a couple of those nominees won. One bit I wrote even got a laugh, which was good because it was meant to be funny. I wore the lovely Memo Irish Leather, which was not on my radar until I got it in a recent swap. It’s a great tea leather perfume.
Oh good, at least it wasn’t a dreary slog sort of meeting.
