Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino Acqua ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 17 June 2019 5 Comments

Tom Ford has launched Fleur de Portofino Acqua. The new Private Blend fragrance is a flanker to 2015's Fleur de Portofino.

What it is: A fragrance that invites you to a sparkling expression of Portofino in full, sensuous bloom.

Fragrance story: Its floral seduction is inspired by the cascades of white flowers that spill from the branches of the white acacia, the beloved shade tree that dots the Mediterranean gardens and lines its tranquil avenues. The top note is a diaphanous cocktail of crisp citrus essences. A blend of Sicilian lemon, mandarin from Sorrento, Calabrese bergamot and juicy tangerine provide the tempo—a perfect picture of a citrus grove soaked with coastal oceanic rains. This citrus cocktail is furthered by bigarade, an inedible bitter orange leaf, for depth and body. Violet leaf absolute Orpur® wraps the accord with its green and vegetal nuances.

Style: Fresh, floral.

Notes: Sicilian lemon, bigarade leaf, white acacia accord, jasmine grandiflorum, violet leaf, acacia honey accord.

Mood: Vibrant, carefree, captivating.

Tom Ford Fleur de Portofino Acqua can be found now at Nordstrom, $125 for 50 ml or $175 for 100 ml.

Right, now he’s done all of the Neroli collection in Acqua versions so hopefully that’s the end of that.

With Tuscan Leather Intense on it’s way next he’ll continue making all the other private blends into ‘intense’ or ‘extreme’ versions , then when thats done maybe we’ll get some decent new frags from TF

But has he promised the Neroli collection is finished?

If only, should have said ‘that’s the end of that (for now)’ as he’s run out of all the current neroli perfumes to acqua-ise

Gotcha. I don’t know why he’d stop…once you find out you can charge premium for simple citrus, you might as well go on ahead.

I’ve had enough of this onslaught of private blends. Acqua this and Intense that…enough already! How about Mr Ford release a decent fragrance in the mainstream line?
