It’s the perfume that chose me

Posted by Robin on 11 April 2019 4 Comments

I often say that it's the perfume that chose me. From an early age, I was fascinated by the world of couture and luxury for the art, craft and handcraft aspects. I wanted it to be my work. Unfortunately, I am not a skilled drawer and I was told that the field was closed to me.

— Perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, quoted in Meet The Men Behind Some Of The World's Most Coveted Fragrances And Olfactory Experiences at Forbes.

MFK definitely found his calling! Pretty amazing things can happen when things fall into place as they should…..

I think it does help if you have a right brain to handle the business side. Saying that, i wonder if the situation would be different if Kurkdjian was on his own? Would we see more unique creations like Absolue Pour Le Soir?

You mean would the fragrances be more adventurous? I sort of doubt it, I don’t think that’s his style, but who knows.
