It's Tuesday, and there is one more day of winter to go (although you'd never know it from the temperature here). What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in L'Artisan Dzongkha because someone mentioned it the other day. Tea at the moment is good old Irish Breakfast.
Reminder: on 3/22, celebrate the arrival of spring by wearing your favorite spring fragrance. (If it's fall where you are, you know what to do.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Renouveau Russe Teapot by Alberto Pinto ("Modern shapes and bold colors make the Renouveau Russe dinnerware pop. Inspired by Russian modern artists, it brings a fresh style statement to the table.") is $680 at Gracious Style)
I’m in Tom Ford Vert d’Encens which I tried last week. Maybe I’ll get a decant of it – a nice pine/fir relaxing green scent.
I really like the Vert series. You smell great.
I tried this one on at a CCO once and all through the long drive home kept thinking “what is it that smells so good in the car?” Duh, it was me! I’d love a decant myself, you smell great!
I have a decant of that too – you smell great!
I haven’t ever seen any of the Vert series yet. Limited distribution I guess. A pity, since all of them sounded interesting.
Love that teapot! Wearing DSH Chinchilla. Semi interesting side note – this is the only perfume that my cat reacts to, he sniffs and sniffs and will play bite my wrist when I wear it. Some animalics are really animalic, apparently.
My cat loves Mitsouko. He tries to lick it off. ?
I think Mitsuko is a good name for a kitty.
?
Mine have been super intrigued by Kitten Fur đ
I have heard of Kitten Fur but I can’t remember who makes it, is it an indie brand on Etsy? I know some brand with Women in the name make Winter Kitten, which sounded nice when I looked it up. My cat’s head smells fabulous, like roses and sunshine, very unlike his personality lol. How does Kitten Fur smell?
Hahaha almost the opposite of an indie brand on Etsy–it’s Demeter! I don’t know what kinds of ingredients they use, but given how cheap their stuff is, I can’t imagine they use any real animal products in it, so I don’t really know what my cats are responding to.
My healthy cat smells of cozy warmth; my sick cat smells different each week, and currently smells of Carolina sweetgrass. Demeter Kitten Fur smells a bit like my healthy cat, but they’ve amped up the warmth and powder and sweetness to a headache-inducing pitch :-/ as if I were being suffocated by my cat wrapping herself around my face.
It sounds like your cat smells wonderful đ
Omgoodness, Demeter, of course! No wonder I’ve heard of it đ
Most of the horses at the farm don’t seem to pay much attention to whatever perfume I happen to be wearing, with one exception. Chergui. Which smells like hay. I swear I am not making this up.
I can see how Chergui would be like catnip for horses
I totally believe it, horses are sensitive. And apparently they have great taste!
When I was a teenager I used to wear Aromatics Elixir and one of our cats would follow me around, sniffing.
Ha! You smell WONDERFUL! My T-Rex reacts the same way…?
T-Rex is such a great name đ Ours was a rescue that came with the name Larry. Not my favorite but he responded to it so I didn’t want to change it.
T-Rex is just her nickname, which she came by because of her habit of always running around with her mouth wide open and her teeth showing. Not in an aggressive way, but in an âI explore the world through my mouthâ kind of way. ?
No perfume that I have worn has interested my 3 cats in the slightest. I guess that they aren’t purrfumistas.
Oh, I love the teapot, too. Sigh.
Agua de Colonia Concentrada for a day of meetings. I smell crisp and lemony-fresh!
You smell wonderful! This reminds me of the old Banana Republic Classic cologne.
I LOVED that cologne because it was one of the few things I could wear when sharing an office with a perfume despising co worker. She loved it so much I ended up gifting her a bottle. I know it sells for a song online.
This has been my uncle’s fragrance for decades, you smell fresh and lovely.
Mona di Orio Musc, which I love in spring and forgot about for a while.
You smell wonderful.
Infusion d’Iris. I pulled out several of my favorite green and spring scents. In my part of Texas the bluebonnets are in bloom, and that means spring!
This one is springy for sure. You smell great!
I forgot about this one, thanks for the reminder
You smell great!
I lived in Texas for years and the bluebonnets were spectacular. Miss that.
Dâoh! Havenât yet rotated from winger to spring, so my bottle of Infusion dâIris is still in its winter quarters. Must get it out â maybe after tonightâs predicted snowstorm.
Just wrangled my kid off to preschool and put on some L’Ombre Dans L’Eau to celebrate. I don’t like rose scents nearly as much in hot weather so I’m wearing them while I can!
That’s a good idea – I should try to get some wear out of my cozy woods before they start to feel stifling!
Joining you in wearing LâOmbre Dans LâEau – perfect for the inbetween seasons.
It really is! It’s one of the few scents that changes significantly over time that I love – most of my favorites are pretty linear.
Love that one! So cheerful and classy.
I am wearing my new travel spray of Cartier Carat from the splitmeet. IMO, perfect for spring. It’s a pretty floral with a nail polish opening. It has a strong opening but fades within an hour to low projection. The longevity isn’t great. I’m down to a skin scent at three hours. Still, it’s quite nice and I am happy to have it.
Do you think it will be a good summer scent?
Spring for sure and possibly early summer. It is a pretty sweet floral. A little aquatic, which isn’t well loved around tese parts. ?
I’m wearing Sadanne, which goes nicely with Lush Rock Star soap in my opinion.
Mm, you smell great! I love strawberry in perfumes.
I am wearing Rahele today.
Thank you for the kind words yesterday.
They caught the suspect in the tram shooting. Media is of course wildly speculating about motives and background. Everyone has to feed their ‘live blogs’ right? Not happy about this sort of ‘journalism’.
Stick to the facts, and check them. And check them again. And again.
I wont mention names but I already heard a certain British media personality was spotted in our city telling lies, urgh what an ugly side effect.
I wrote a comment and then deleted it, and then wrote it again, and then deleted it.
Ach! You know what I was going to say. We in the US feel your pain, and your worry.
I’m thinking of the victims, and the other denizens of Utrecht and hoping that today is a better day.
Yeah I know!
Thank you for the these kind words
I’m sorry this hit so close to home for you, Jiji. It’s utter madness. I’m running out of words…
Yes it IS utter madness.
No place seems safe anymore. But we cannot let fear win!
You smell fantastic, even if the world stinks.
Hahaha Thank you!
Well said, Amy!
I’m sure you are far more affected by this than I, as I don’t live in Utrecht.
Could you send me the link to that British reaction, I’ve managed to miss it.
Sterkte!
You got mail.
Probably too political to post here đ
The media has gone to the dark side. Meaning itâs no longer about objective fact. Itâs about bombast, emotionality, judgementalism, and âentertainment.â
I grew up before the days of CNN when news was fact and broadcasters and journalists kept their personal opinions to themselves. They were professionals- articulate, knowledgeable, and did their job well. Sad to see that level of reporting is no more.
Iâm sorry this has hit so close to home. Safety is an illusion we create to make ourselves comfortable, but there has been and always will be a percentage of the population that prey on other humans. These people want to hurt, maim, and disrupt the fabric of society. Donât let them kill your love of the world, and donât let them alter your life by making you live in fear. â?
Wise words, Deva! Thank you. ?
I refuse to live in fear. And I refuse to stop seeing the Good and the Beautiful around me.
I just went outside for an evening run, and saw a gorgeous sunset. And all was peaceful on the streets and in the parks. Folks walking their dogs, other runners passing by, people heading home on their bikes…. and then the moon appeared. I just stopped and stared at it for a while. ?
Sorry that you are now having to deal with sensationalist reporting in the aftermath. Yuck.
California Reverie.
Iâm not usually one to like florals, but this one is very pretty. It will work well for next weekâs cp too.
Headed out for a day off shopping with my daughter. Another beautiful day of sun. Weâve waited so long for this weather!?
You smell lovely! I think I’ll join you in this one today!
Thank you! Excellent!?
California RĂȘverie is a gem.
It really is! Just wish it lasted a bit longer.
Enjoy your day with sun and daughter! The first time I tried CR, I was astonished how much I liked it because Iâm not a floral gal either. You smell perfecto!â?
Thank you! Itâs been a great day!âïž
Tea is Rose dâHimalaya
Lili Bermuda Frangipani
I love that tea, I think I went through at least 1 bag of it.
SL Feminite du Bois. Still trying to figure out if I like this one, the initial burst of powdery peach reminds me of Tresor, which makes me gag, but I like the cedar underneath…just not sure if I like it enough to justify keeping it. Never smelled the original version.
I thought the fruit in FdB was plum?
Both, according to fragrantica, though the peach doesn’t stick around long.
Oh wow. I didn’t get any peach when I tested it. It was mainly plum and cedar on me.
I must be cursed!
I love FdB and have both versions.
How would you compare them?
The original is much deeper and richer. It’s rarely found anywhere for a reasonable price. The SL is still pretty good considering the fact that it’s reformulated.
I have
Shiseido FdB
Serge FdB
Serge Bois de Fruit- Palais Bottle!
Serge BdV- Palais bottle
Very little difference between Serge & Shiseido. The dry down is undetectable. Serge FdB is as beautiful as ever!!! ???
I donât get any peach, thatâs interesting. Need to sniff it again.
Let us know when you do!
I’ve only sampled the current version of FdB, and liked it, but the cumin comes out in a big (funky armpit) way on my skin, so it’s not one I’d feel comfortable wearing in polite company. I’d love to smell it on someone else though!
There’s a certian peach note that my skin just grabs onto and amplifies like crazy. I get just a teensy tiny little bit of spice from this. Seems that isn’t the majority experience!
You smell lovely!
I have the vintage Shiseido FdB extrait, it’s glorious stuff. After having moved Mid-November 2018, I just realized I haven’t seen my bottle in any of the boxes I’ve unpacked.
SOTD is LâOmbre Dans LâEau – perfect for the transition between seasons. đ
I am wearing Meo Musciuni’s Little Song Perfume and drinking Stash Chai Green Tea.
I like that tea
Ooh- tea twins!
I recall liking the Stash Chai Green Tea very much when I tried it, thanks to somebody here on NST!
That teapot is lovely! And nearly an order of magnitude more expensive than the teapots I tend to buy.
I am smelling super-springy in Ostara today!
All my teapots combined wouldn’t add up to the price of today’s featured teapot. ?
Same here! But hopefully you don’t have ten teapots. (Or maybe you do! This is a collectors’ forum! Why stop at perfumes and soaps?)
Probably 3 or 4 but I’d never invest that kind of money in a teapot. I like to use my stuff. I’d be too afraid that it would get broken.
All my teapots and tea cups and tea strainers and TEA would not add up to that price đ
In another season transitioning scent, Naja. This one has grown on me. I just looked up the notes. Definitely one of those, “Oh now that you mention it…” I smell those notes, but I could not have identified them myself.
Parfumerie Generale Vetiver Matale. All morning long I’ve been saying “something is burning… oh, it’s me!”
:lol
I hope your burning in a good way!
Another yummy-sounding vetiver I need to sample someday! I bet you smell wonderful.
I’m in ELDO Rien today, from a dabber vial. It went on differently this morning than it has before – strong, and rather animalic. I nearly scrubbed! It finally settled after about an hour, but I was worried that my coworkers would not be very happy with my choice today. I think perhaps it’s better in colder weather, and/or just not quite right for me. Too bad, because when it’s good it’s just about perfect. Anyone have a recommendation of another incense and iris scent to try?
John Galiano maybe. But it’s not like Rien at all (which was very leathery, and it was not my kind of leather). There is definitely incense and iris in JG, but with plenty of plummy rose and a dose of aldehydes. And, alas, discontinued.
I wonder if maybe Comme des Garcons 2 Man will work for you. I did not try it myself, but it seems to share a lot of notes with Rien.
Hmm. I’m not a big rose fan, but I’ll check out the CdG – thanks!
Rien is a bomb. I think you either love it or hate it.
A great iris and incense is Iris Nazarena, nothing like Rien, it’s light and subtle but it has plenty of character.
Yes, that and Dzongkha are my two main iris & incense scents. Rien was very animalic and ballooned up to huge proportions on me.
Wow, if I had realized Dzongkha was an iris and incense scent, I would’ve tried to sniff it years ago!
Rien is intensely animalic and just big. I totally adore it, but I can see why someone else wouldn’t.
Oh, good to know – the other times I’ve sampled Rien I must have gone easier on the dabbing than I did today. I think I might even have a sample of Iris Nazarena around somewhere. Have never tried Dzongkha, but sounds like I should, stat!
You might give Miller Harris Etui Noir a sniff, but you also have to like leather with your iris and incense. It turns out as I only like baby leather that it’s too much for me, so I understand your predicament (my bottle will go to the swapmeet).
WELL. I love leather, baby or otherwise, so I’ll be watching for your swapmeet post. đ
Hello Sheri: The problem is I am located in the UK (I think you must be in the US) and Royal Mail has regulations which prevent shipping any perfume abroad, they are seized and destroyed. It’s a shame đ
Hi Aurora! No worries at all, and you’ll have seen from my other note to Koyel below that your description/recommendation of Etui Noir inspired me to indulge in a blind buy. đ
Oh darn, but aren’t you in England? Bummer, or else I would also have jumped on your swapmeet post!
I’m also U.S., Koyel – perhaps you and I should talk about a split.
I wish I could, SheriG, but Iâm sadly on a strict no-buy đ
No-buys are no-fun. đ But since I’m super-intrigued and the Etui Noir is not terribly expensive (and I have no self-control, apparently), I just blind-ordered a bottle and would be happy to send you a small decant to try if you’d like. Email me at scgrether in the land of the google mails if you’re interested.
Yes Koyel, unfortunately I live in London, so we can only swap within the UK, we’re forbidden to ship perfume to Continental Europe.
*to Continental Europe as well and anywhere in the world.
I always apply Rien at least an hour before I go to work as it is really Too Much for the first bit. Used to spritz a little Demeter Gingerale to calm it down a bit. You might want to try Rien Intense, which ironically is a bit softer and I think incensey.
Interesting! The Intense one seems to be a bit easier to find as well – so funny that it would be a toned-down version.
That is a beautiful teapot, but the price! My mesh infuser and a mug make a perfectly good cup of tea for much, much less.
Scent of the day is Bottega Veneta Eau de Velours. I love this one more each time I wear it.
You smell great, Robin! Dzongkha was one of my first niche purchases.
Lovely choice! BV has done a great job with their fragrances.
Thank you! They really have. A FB of the original is on my list.
You smell divine, my EdV bottle is one of my best purchases this past six months.
Thanks! And, same here.
I’m a huge fan of the Eau de Velours! You smell gorgeous!
Thank you!
You do smell great!
Thanks!
Gorgeous bottle and lovely scent, too! ??
I’m basically a zombie today after a very long stressful work day wherein I had to wrangle lots of big personalities to stay on track with testing systems all day. I won’t go into much detail but there were a lot more IT challenges than I anticipated. Then my brain wouldn’t turn off last night even though I was dead tired so I got about 5hours of sleep. I’m wearing the light, springy Guerlain Idylle Love Blossom courtesy of ElisaP. It’s not one of my favorite spring perfumes, but it’s what I needed today – pretty, light, and easy.
I hope your week gets better. At least you picked the right perfume to help you cope with stress.
Thanks, the craziest day should be out of the way now!
ElisaP gets an enabler pin from me for Idylle Love Blossom, I really like the lilac note. Hope your day goes better today!
?
Indeed! It’s a really enjoyable perfume.
Yikes! If only we didnât have to work with people, work would be a joy! I hope youâre able to catch up on deep restful sleep tonight. ??
I won’t because I’m going to a concert tonight! What a start to the week!
Urgh, a stressful Monday is no fun at all. Here’s hoping that your week improves as it goes on.
I like that teapot, too. It’s very beautiful. I am wearing Oliver & Co Dunard. I get a lot of tuberose from it, but its other notes are there in the background.
First I want to thank everyone for your very kind and thoughtful words. The culprit has been apprehended and the police is investigating. I hope they get the chance to do this as thoroughly as needed.
On a far more cheerful note; I’m wearing an old spring favourite – Le temps d’une fĂȘte. Celebrating that I will be in Paris next week. Parfums de NicolaĂŻ, here I come.
Tea is MF Montagne d’Or. I will undoubtedly spend some time at my favourite MF shop on the Left Bank.
You smell gorgeous!
Thanks!
So envious, give Paris my love!
I will.
I totally missed what happed, but happy they got the hooligan! I hope they throw the book at him. A very heavy book. Like concrete block heavy!
Like in The Heat!
Happy times in perspective, make the most of it.
Oh I will. It may sound very cynical and I really don’t want to tread on anyones toes, but something like this was bound to happen here as well.
I live very close to the Belgian border and spend more time in Antwerp and Brussels than I do in any of the major Dutch cities.
So I saw all the safety measures deployed there arrive and go away again. It’s just a sign of the times.
Unfortunately I think you are right. It was bound to happen.
Like you, I visit Belgium and France quite often and when you want to enter a department store in Lille for instance, or a christmas market or a museum, you are required to show the contents of your bag to security. Also not unusual to see heavily armed police/army strolling through city centers. ?
So I am not totally surprised either. But its still a bit unnerving to experience a sort of shut down like yesterday and see the images of the road/tram you pass on a regularly basis on television.
Yep, it’s different if it involves your own city.
I lived in Enschede when the fatal explosion happened in 2000. That one affected me a lot more, and it wasn’t even intentional.
And a shut down must be very unnerving, so I feel for you!
Mariage Freres tea twins
What are you going to get a PdN?
I want to try both the new NĂ©roli’s and she has a lilac candle that I haven’t smelled yet. Plus I really like her shops, they are great to potter around in.
Oooh, lilac candle!!! Looking forward to your report.
Very jealous of your Paris trip. My visits to PdN were so fun (I went to Richelieu and later to PoincarĂ© – SAâs at both were great). I have Neroli Intense on the top of my list for my next purchase.
I really like the shop on Rue des Archives in the Marais. Nice street with a Palais des ThĂ©s shop and Etat Libre d’Orange.
Paris in early spring is so lovely! Narcissuses and hyacinths in bloom.
I hope you have good spring weather. At least warm and sunny enough to enjoy a sandwich or a croissant on a bench in one of the parks ? (well, thats what I do when I want to save more money for perfume and tea haha ?
It will be good, and you are like me. I skip fancy lunches in order to purchase tea, perfume and museum tickets.
You smell wonderful.
Thanks, it had been a while since last wore this. It’s a really enjoyable perfume like most NicolaĂŻs.
Safe travels to Paris, and I hope you have a wonderful trip!
Reviewed last night’s Vetiver Dance and liked it very much. It’s pretty close to full bottle worthy. Wearing Lonestar Memories today while annoyed with Amazon. I bought the gift of prime but they won’t let me redeem it until tomorrow since my membership officially ends tonight. I don’t know Amazon does that stuff. I am hoping that they email me how much I saved with Prime in the past year soon.
Andy hinted on facebook this week he has a new release coming up. Canât wait!
Back in my HG scent today, Vol de Nuit (edt). I can wear this in any season, but itâs feeling particularly good on this not-quite-spring day.
Oh yes that’s the perfect season for it, what do you think of the current EDT if you know it? I only know the vintage.
I’m sorry, but I can’t answer your question, since I only have the vintage as well, lol! Good thing I have back-ups. ?
đ
Started off grey and cold this morning, but thankfully itâs clearing up. Wearing Kilian Sweet Redemption.
My favourite Kilian and my favourite orange blossom, Sweet Redemption is such a wistful beauty.
mmm…love that Kilian
SOTD is a little AG Songes body oil topped off with a spritz of Carnal Flower. Maybe more summer than spring, but I definitely smell like the vacation I’d like to be on right now.
Commiserating with you, I wish I were away too.
Haha, thanks! One can fantasize…
I love Songes…I am jealous of your body oil
You smell like spring and summer
It is nice stuff! Looks like they still make it but in a different, and, IMO, not as nice a bottle.
You smell fab!
Thank you! ?
You do smell like vacation! Carnal Flower is one of the scents Iâm taking with me to Florida next week.
Good choice (for someone who doesn’t like florals ??)! I hope it’s a great trip!
A Songes body oil? That sounds like it is amazing!
It is nice, but not sure how close it is to the perfume. I’ve had this bottle for like 4 years now and it still smells great, though it looks like some solids separated. :/
apropos of nothing, my hand landed on Passage d’Enfer.
The hand wants what the hand wants. ?
yes, yes it does.
You smell so good! It’s been so long since I have worn PdE!
Apparently, spring came and left in about 24 hours. Yesterday it must have been in the 70âs, and Iâm at a higher altitude while camping. Thereâs still some snow on the ground but it wonât last in these temperatures. AND, the bugs are already out…!Iâm dreading summer.
Despite summer being my LEAST favorite season, Iâm wearing my MOST beloved summer fragrance- PdE Corsica Furiosa. Iâve missed you, old friend! ?
Enjoying my coffee and about to tuck into some banana-cinnamon-oat pancakes for brunch.
Enjoy your brunch Deva, do you always share a little bit with T-Rex?
Sheâs the Official Dish Washer.?
We had an unseasonably warm day last week and this was the summer fave my hand went to immediately. You smell great!
Thank you! I just love it- from first spritz to far dry down?
I initially read your post to mean that winter had returned to where you are at! I guess not, with temps in the 70s!
I was probably not clear. Winter, one day of spring, and now the dreaded summer. I know Iâm in the minority, but summer makes me irritable. I have the opposite of winter SAD, I think.
I wouldn’t rule out a “Reading Derp” on my part, either. ?
Another day with my Brigitte because I love it’s creamy lilac goodness.
đ I can imagine how lovely you smell from here. I look forward to lilac season all year.
I love lilacs in real life..I think this is why I love it as a note.
Me too. We have a bush in our backyard and on a breezy day the scent comes right in through the kitchen window.
I miss the smell of lilacs on the bush in springtime. I don’t see them where I live now.
I wore an MFK Gentle fluidity today (silver version, more masculine that smells like gin)
Do you like it?
I have not tried either one yet.
Today was grey and mild, it seemed like a perfect day (now I can hear Lou Reed) for SL Bois de Violette, so wistful.
One of the greatest SL perfumes of all time. You smell wonderful.
Thank you, Cazaubon, glad you love it too, this perfume is always a lovely surprise, definitely my favorite violet.
I feel like I’m coming down with something. I hope not since I’m almost out of sick days already. I think I get 4. Anyway, I’m wearing Narciso edp White Cube, for a meeting with the kids therapy advocate. I wish I felt as good as I smell. I’ve given up on looking as good as I smell, lol?
Oh noes. đ Hope it passes you by!
Thank you, fingers crossed.
Hang in there, lillyjo! Wish I could gift you some of my sick days.
I would accept that gift!
Yeah Iâve decided to let smelling good replace looking good. Hope you stave off the sickness.
Lol, glad I’m not the only one. If nothing else we always smell good!
Oh no, feel better soon!
Thanks!
Hope you are feeling better soon!
Thank you
I hope you are able to get a good night rest, it may help to keep the sickness at bay!
I need to try those Narciso’s but I have a hard time keeping them apart. Is that weird?
The white cube and the burgundy L’absolu are imo the best. I don’t care much for the others, but I am in the minority, I think.
Oh, yuck. I hope it’s a false alarm!
Me too!
Oh no! Hope you can power through, 4 sick days in a year is simply not enough. You do smell good, and I hope you had some sun today too!
I did have sun! I missed it though, napping on an off.
Hope you feel better soon. 4 sick days is not enough. ?
Thank you.
That sucks, the feeling of impending sickness. Having to use vacation time when sick days run out also sucks. ?
I used my vacation time during the stupid polar vortex ?
Go away sickness!
I think you mentioned having FMLA days?
Legally, I could take fmla, up to 3 months. It has to be approved with a bunch of documentation and it’s unpaid leave. I used it once when my children were very little and had just been diagnosed with autism. I’m still taking the Echinacea, so hopefully I just needed to rest today.
How about filing for intermittent FMLA? I know itâs unpaid but it gives you flexibility without having to worry about being dinged for attendance.
I might contact hr and see how that works. I’m so hoping to be out of this job by summer. The only good thing is they work with me with schedule. Everything else is not so good.
Not enough sleep, early wake up to get the kid to weightlifting, need to get some energy to teach a flute lesson in an hour. Wearing Bvlgari Thé Bleu today.
Just wanted to tell you I installed the Sephora app and got the new reward announcement this morning – snagged the $100 gift card, yaaassss!! Happy day.
BTW you smell great, Thé Bleu is a favourite summer scent.
What! Holy cow! Congrats! ??
How do you get that?
You have to spend a ton of money at Sephora. They have a rewards program where you get points which can be redeemed for stuff. I used my points to get the $100 gift card. (2500 points)
excellent!!! free money đ
Nice! Good job on being a valued customer đ
I went to my nearest Sephora for the first time in…ever? over the weekend, and was DELIGHTED by their fragrance selection!
I should have saved my points!
That’s cool. I thought they just gave out minis. Do you have plans for the gift card?
Feeling a bit indecisive at the moment, but I have 90 days to decide. đ
Woohoo! Score at Sephora. I love Thé Bleu. That wee bit of lavender on the top.
A bright sunny day here, and I am thinking about going to the nursery to buy replacements for the perennials that died after last summer’s drought. I’m no gardener, but I think I can dig a hole and put a plant in it đ I’m also thinking about a soaker hose to prevent another die-off this summer. SOTD is the lovely Promesse de l’Aube.
A soaker hose is definitely a good idea. My dad really liked using them ages ago to water the grass.
Got my bottle of VCA Bois d’Iris! Is is very high-classy and work-appropriate, like a rich lady who is working for the fun of it.
? I donât know any of those ladies personally, but Iâd like to be one! You smell fab!
co-signed!
Iâd like to be one of those ladies too, but then Iâd choose NOT to work!?
Heh! I know one. She is a cake artist, is very very good at it and enjoys making OTT gorgeous cakes. It would be a shame if she decided to just stay home and eat bonbons.
I just got a decant of that in the splitmeet and it blew me away. It is so gorgeous!
It was a cool start to the day today, but bright and sunny. I’m thinking that spring is going to show up after all. I’m hoping that the winter-haters here are also seeing some nice weather. ????
SOTD = back in Timbuktu. I don’t mind having several days’ wear of the same sample. It’s been a while since I have thunked something.
I’m happy to finally be seeing some warmer weather and glad that you are too.
Yes! Last month’s heating bill was STOOPID crazy!
Thanks all for your well wishes yesterday. I showed your comments to my son and he was so pleased – made him feel good to get kind words from such fantastically fragrant people.
I am in mrryhe eglantine – very long lasting and spicy in a bright way
I hope that your little guy is feeling better today.
Today’s scent is Le Labo’s Iris 39. My perfect iris, and the only full bottle of any Le Labo. (so spendy!) Tea is a combination of Rishi’s Pagagonia Berry & White Peony. Happy Spring!
Oops. Only full bottle *I have* of any Le Labo đ
I love Iris 39! The shower gel will be on heavy rotation for the next few months.
Hove Honeysuckle
I used up the last of my Hove perfume, Carnaval, during Mardi Gras week. I like several of their perfumes. I don’t remember the Honeysuckle one.
PSA: It looks like Neiman Marcus now has some Tom Ford scents that were discontinued but are back. I saw Black Violet and Velvet Gardenia listed for sale in their website.
“On their website”. Sigh.
Naughty!
Iâm posting late today. It was a glorious day, sunny, 70, and so green today. The bad side is that Houston is being hit by a vast black cloud coming from five huge tanks of burning chemicals! Supposedly the air quality is still safe but it certainly looks ominous out there! My mother is still in the hospital but doing better. I have to spend tomorrow negotiating for her to get into a rehab center. My SOTD is Tigerâs Nest. Itâs very potent. I put it up against Calling All Angels, both incense scents with some resins to add sweetness. Plus some rose. After two days of testing, Iâve concluded that the strongest note in Tigerâs nest isnât incense but amber. That overpowers everything else so that I donât get any nuances such as absinthe. Itâs nice but I wonât be going for a FB.
I like Calling all Angels’ opening better than Tiger’s Nest, but over time Tiger’s Nest becomes more rewarding to me, and it lasts longer than CAA. Course, amber is my go to note.
Got to Tokyo finally on a Night flight, checked into my hotel and wandered a bit around. Had some dinner in kreativen which was quite good.
As i brought just a few decants i wore Vanille D’ Iris. Tomorrow we have a guided tour , so will rest niw.
