Happy Almost-Friday! What fragrance are you wearing?
I am smelling SWEET in Flower by Kenzo L'Elixir.
Reminder: on 3/1, wear a fragrance by Floris, Fragonard or Frapin, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter F.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is from the Kenzo Spring 2019 campaign.
My personal theme this week has been neglected perfumes. Today’s is Samsara. I have a somewhat vintage edt (clear bottle), I don’t know why I don’t wear it more often.
Gorgeous, you smell beautiful.
I love Samsara. One of Guerlains best. You smell great.
Neglected perfumes is a good theme, I would do well to rearrange my cabinet too. You smell great. (Presumably. I haven’t tried the vintage, but I even like the modern one!)
You smell fabulous! I think this one is fun to layer with rose or other sandalwood scents.
Bvlgari Au the Bleu for its relaxing, meditative and calming effect. Love it!
You smell great.
Thank you! ?
I love it too! It’s unique (to me)
I agree is unique. Comfy, pretty and simple in its own way.
I wore that last night. It really is relaxing!
Au the Bleu is one of those perfumes that I always need to have in my collection for rough days.
I was hoping you’d be having fewer rough days, pl67! May things calm down for you ASAP. ?
Thank you! Sending hugs! ?
I almost wore it as well but went with Mandragore for a somewhat similar reason! Love the Bvlgari teas!
Mandragore is a nice soothing scent. You smell great! I like all the Bvlgari teas. Au Bleu is my favorite for any season. Eau de Vert is another one that I wear a lot in summer time. It is so refreshing and relaxing!
Thanks pl67, so do you! I love bleu, vert and blanc and always like to include Bvlgari Black with them since it has a tea note as well.
Nankun kodo by Sultan Pasha
Spices, herbs and woods.
The fastest and cheapeat way of transporting myself to a Japanese mountain temple 😉
I have the Shoyeido incense that inspired this fragrance as well. I need to burn it more often….
I’ve never heard of Sultan Pasha. The scent sounds great.
Its a small one man brand from London. He makes fantastic attars (mixes of oils and a absolutes and such, so not diluted with alcohol).
You smell fabulous!
Thank you!
I have never been in a Japanese Mountain Temple…but CdG Monocle Hinoki came to mind right away. I should try yours 🙂
Nankun is too spicy for a temple.
Ive been to a Japanese mountain temple complex (togakushi) and the area itself smelled totay forestry. It was all about wood wood wood: gigantic trees, temples made of wood, muting and a bit of leafs and grasses in the sun. Hardly any spices.
But…afterwards we had ramen in a small restaurant near the entrance that was quite spicy and that’s what makes the connection for me. 🙂
Haha I accidentally forgot a few words and a letter there sorry but you will get the idea 😉
I got the idea just fine!
Satori smells pretty close to temples in Japan to me. I have on Kyoto and Satori today.
Yup i think so as well and Satori is gorgeous isnt it?
I love Shoyeido incense (I have Autumn Leaves) please which one inspired the perfume? I bet you smell really good.
Its the one called Nankun (Southern wind). Its from their premium range.
Their Silver Temple sometimes called Silver Pagoda is wonderful also.
I usually buy about 12 boxes at a time or beg people to bring it to me. For a long time couldn’t get on line.
Today I light my incense for my mother. She is gone two years today. She would be 97.
That is a lovely and beautiful way to remember your mother.
Thank you Jiji
Even though I am well into my morning (thanks to my ancient caterwauling cat who prefers I not sleep past 3:45), I haven’t decided on my scent of the day. Many mornings I wake up knowing, almost as if I’ve been instructed in a dream. On mornings like this one, though, I dither and dither, you know, as if it were a decision about buying a new car or donating a kidney.
Gosh, I know that feeling. What did you choose?
Get this. I couldn’t decide, so I put Coco EDT on one arm and the EDP on the other. I have been meaning to reassess my relationship with these grand dames for some time now. Thanks for asking, Kanuka. Hope you’re having a great day!
I don’t think I’ve smelled the edt. Which do you prefer?
Hi Lillyjo. Though I’ve had versions of the EDP for years, I am surprised to discover that I actually like the EDT better. I think that, even though I know better — I really do! — I have had this assumption that the EDP MUST be “richer.” I actually find the EDT to be warmer, more ambery, and less clovey….more of what drew me to Coco in the first place.
Interesting, I will have to look for a tester next time I’m out.
Can’t go wrong with either
On days like that I pick something from the sotd poll 🙂
Well it is like the 1000th day of rainy day recess at work/school today. I am wearing Tolu which seems very not rainy….
Boo, so sorry shellyw!
Essential Faith – Aura. Very partial points for “F”aith.
Lots of partial points this week! G might be worse and maybe we should do G + H together.
I feel like we all have a Guerlain, at the very least a sample! (Though…H…hmm.)
But Guerlain is not a small brand, and in fact we have already done 2 Guerlain projects. The idea is to cover brands we haven’t covered…
Hermes! Surely Hermes has given out enough free samples for everyone to have one of those, too?
But the lettered cp’s are for small houses.
Ack! Of course they are.
Layering Brin de Reglisse and Vanille Galant in an attempt to finish my bottle of the former. I’m getting pretty close and layering all my Hermessences has been a fun experiment. Today’s combination doesn’t really smell that different from two individualperfumes but I adore them both so….
Have a great day all!
What’s your favorite combination?
It’s another rainy/dreary/gray/chilly morning, so I’m going for straight up cozy hugs and blankets in Prada Infusion d’Iris. Sooooo good!
Oh, you smelled great today!
Alahiiiiiiiine! First time I’ve felt like wearing it since LAST winter — too many new cold-weather fragrance loves, I guess. Anyway, I’m enjoying the spiced loveliness all to heck.
Heck yes. You smell awesome!
Today I tried a new combination of scents rather randomly layering Seville a l’aube and RBR Vespers. But they are too different in texture, so Seville dominates.
I’m wearing 4711 Acqua Colonia Blackberry & Cocoa, which my sister picked up in Germany. Perfect for a chilly, damp day. I’m getting both the blackberry and the chocolate notes. I wish I had a good source for the newer 4711 Acqua Colonia fragrances in the US. Even Amazon doesn’t stock the new ones.
Smallflower has some of them, but not sure about the newer ones.
Yeah, they take awhile to get here. I would love to run across a complete set of testers! Glad the B&C is good.
Off work today paying bills. I am none too happy with my mother. She had said that she had a 9am dentist appointment today, so I was up at 6:45 this morning. Our dentist is an hour away. We get there an found out that she was supposed to be there Monday. If I don’t have to get up early, I don’t. Just seemed like most of the morning was wasted on her not looking at the calendar. I am excited about my package containing Ubar is coming today. Wearing LADDM right now.
LDDM is the finest. You smell great!
Super cold and snowy here but the sun is bright and my place is warm!
Sotd: Nicolai l’eau Mixte because I’m in the mood for Spring! ?
I can’t decide if I need this. (Need being relative, of course). Do you wear it all spring and summer?
Aroma M Geisha Vanilla Hinoki, day 4. Thunk Mission nearly complete.
Philosykos today. I’m glad I am wearing something comforting because I had to give a sad student many hugs. The first real breakup is so hard, especially when you’re legally obliged to go to school with your ex every day. Man, I’m glad those days are long past me.
That’s tough!
That’s sweet of you to be there for your student.
Man, so am I!!
Oh, young love angst is so…angsty! ?
Awww. It’s kind of you to be there for your student <3
To be honest, it’s probably the best part of the job.
That’s really nice 🙂
That’s so sweet. Kids need compassion and support from their teachers, and I’m glad you were there for her. ?
Stressful couple of days so I’m skipping the F’s and going with a love! MFK Baccarat Rouge 540. $300 is more than I’m willing to spend on a bottle of anything, but I’ve been stingy with this sample. It’s worth it today, it’s bringing smiles and a compliment from my barista.
An update for those who offered their well wishes the last couple of days: my BF went to a second doctor that was way more attentive and thorough, they’re testing the fluid that’s weeping out and got him on a different medication. He’s a lot more confident in the second guy, so now we’re just kind of waiting for the new stuff to start working/test results to come back. Hoping it acts fast, my sweetheart is just MISERABLE, but outlook is better than yesterday.
I missed your original post, but I’m glad your BF is getting good care.
I think I’ll put on BR540 post shower, I don’t have any small f’s
I wonder if MFK will get into the hair mists?
An F initial counts……maybe like, 1/5 points!
I dunno! I don’t ever buy hair mists, but maybe as a less expensive alternative to one that’s giving me sticker shock I’d think about it.
That’s great that he has a more attentive Doctor. I wish him a speedy recovery.
Thanks lillyjo! Keeping our fingers crossed.
When I first saw your comment, I thought it said ‘more attractive doctor’. My co-worker friend went to her dentist regularly because he was so good looking!
Glad he is getting better care now.
Thanks, Aurora 🙂
Good for you (and him) getting a second opinion! Hope he’s feeling better soon. ??
Oof, sorry to read this. Glad he’s getting better care now!
Smelling of clean, sharp citrus in Fum Nerola. While this is the least original of their perfumes, it’s a very nice neroli-centric scent.
Already looking forward to the weekend. This week has been dragging a bit on the work front, but my evenings have been good because of True Detective. Watching the season finale tonight!
How does it compare to season 1 and 2? If you had to rank them…?
Definitely better than season two. I think I’ll have to withhold my answer until I’ve watched the season finale tonight and possibly after a rewatch of season 1. In my mind, I’ve propped up season 1 as a gold standard in tv shows, so I’m curious what I think on a second viewing. Season 3 is definitely worth a watch though.
MFK’s Aqua Vitae Forte for me today. This scent has me quite conflicted. There is a note, and I’m pretty sure it’s the ylang-ylang, that makes me recoil somewhat but also, it’s very appealing — really it’s both at once for much of its wearing. As time goes by it softens and I like it more and more, but that first hour is hard to stomach. I’ve got a number of compliments on it including, shocker of all shockers, my husband!
Hmm.. what to do when this decant is done.
Never tried it, but have you tried the non-forte version?
Yes, and that one is not as strangely appealing. I should try again, however.
I had a similar love-hate experience with that one. I remember it being a bit too bitter for me initially.
Has there been a love-hate or strangely appealing CM? I’m sure there has been.
Was just despairing that I have nothing even remotely (okay, despairing may be overstating it 😉 ) linked to the CP, when I read floragal– MFK! Francis! F! Okay then.
But not today. Today I am in DSH’s Cafe Noir and I smell like a million bucks… I am behind now on a project due tomorrow at the close of business day. I have been writing and writing and writing, and then yesterday I just hit a wall. Was distressingly curious about the news (I’ll leave it at that) AND my youngest had an interview for a conference– a week in Sacramento over the summer, all expenses paid–to be a delegate for kids with disabilities. I was alternating between being a prideful mum and news pundit and there just wasn’t a whole lot of bandwidth left for writing… Today, well tonight, I will pay for it. Hence my application of gorgeous, fancy perfume. Wish me luck.
Good luck with the writing and the deadline
I made my poor 11 year old listen to the radio station most kids despise on our way to school because I was riveted! The conference sounds very cool.
How cool for your son!
Best of luck, you will nail this deadline.
I think your son would make a fantastic delegate! I really hope he gets the post, and I hope your writing goes smoothly tonight! ?
Playing hooky today as I have a dentist appointment this morning. It’s just for a cleaning, but its snowing like crazy today so it’s easier to come home rather than traipse to the office afterwards They are very good at my dentist office but I still get stressed about going!
I think I will wear something very low key like EL Sensuous Nude or a spray of Prada Infusion d’Iris.
Good luck with your dental visit! ?
Thanks Deva. I’m home, having survived!
Sprayed on some vintage Shalimar edt to get the smell of the dentist office off me.
Wearing Chanel No. 5 today in EDT and when it poops out, I will add a squirt of the EDP.
Found a F perfume house in my decants, so i am wearing Fath de Fath. After a visit to the doctor i take to days off work and bingeing on Netflix with Outlander, drinking vats of tea… But i am starting to feel a bit better, but my voice is still totally hoarse
Ooh do you like outlander? They have it at the library and I was thinking about starting from season 1
Butting in to say that Outlander is so good! The first episode is a bit slow, but it sets up the series. Enjoy!
I watched and loved the first couple seasons! IMO better than the books. (Well, book; I stopped after reading just the first one.) It helps that Jamie is super-cute.
Love Outlander, watched the whole series.
Glad you’re feeling better, add honey and lemon to the tea for your voice.
P.S. I was under the impression that Mr.Tauer was not doing discovery sets any more but lo and behold, they are back on his website!
Yes!!
It’s the explorer sets he’s discontinued.
I will do something with F tomorrow, but not today though. My SOTD is Nicolaï pour Homme. A truly complex and gorgeous lavender and one of her best scents.
Tea is Festin d’Or
Happy ‘Fat Thursday’! How many donuts did you eat today?
In my region it’s this one day of the year when calories don’t matter.
I’m in D600 from Carner Barcelona.
It’s “Dirty Thursday” in Southern Germany today….thanks for reminding me that carnival season has started, I would have totally forgotten.
I don’t think I’m an overly anxious person, but those Kenzo ads give me anxiety! Thankfully, I love the Elephant, so it all works out ?
Just signed my next contract starting 3/25, so celebrating with Felanilla from a very kind NSTer. Now, I can really buckle down with routes, plans, etc. Last night I looked up all the UNESCO sites in North America, and there are a couple on my list for the summer! Especially wanting to visit Head Bashed In Buffalo Jump in Alberta! Can you imagine digging through stuff at the bottom of the cliffs? Bones, tools, all kinds of wonderful stuff! Ha, I’m such an oddball! ?
Are you allowed to dig it all up and keep it?
Oh, gosh, no! It’s highly regulated by the government. I’m not sure if there is active digging currently, but there are layers upon layers upon layers of artifacts because it was used for such a long time spin by indigenous peoples.
Congratulations! And you smell awesome ??
Thanks! And yes, I do smell awesome. No false modesty here?
So where are you headed for your next contract?
Lakewood, WA. A small community hospital just south of Seattle. Or really, probably part of the greater Seattle, just on the outskirts from what I can tell.
I’d call it part of the greater Tacoma area since it is south of Tacoma and Tacoma is not considered part of the greater Seattle area. They’re different counties even. Let me know if/when you come up to Seattle to explore. Springpansy may be interested in a meet up too.
Thanks for the reorientation. That was probably a terrible faux pas on my part. When I look on the map, all I see Is one huge urban area. And yes, will be in touch! ✌?
Yes please!!
Squeeee!!! That’s my part of the world! I grew up in southern Alberta. Let me know if you need any travel recommendations. You’re planning to go to Drumheller, right?
I can also give you Rockies recommendations.
Oh, great! I will totally pick you brain if I can. I’m planning on going up from Seattle through BC and YT, then back down bia the eastern route to end up in Waterton/Glacier NP. Canadian Rockies are on my radar for sure! I just haven’t decided yet if I’m going north from Fairbanks to Deadhorse and Prudoe Bay so I can dip my toe in the Beaufort Sea, or heading to SW to Anchorage and the Kodiak Islands. Never heard of Drumheller, but it’s on my radar now. Is it ok to email you and you can give me some recommendations when you get a free moment? No rush, I’m not leaving until the end of June. Thanks so much! ?
Hey! I’m also a southern Alberta girl 🙂
Head-smashed-in-Buffalo park was pretty cool but have to shout out to Writing on Stone park which is a unique camping spot and one of my favorite places beside Waterton in the area.
And if you find yourself in southern British Columbia, there are some great places in the Okanagan that I can share with you!
Yes please! See my response to Sistine above. I’ll definitely spend time in both BC and YT. My email is taiga101 in the land of yahooligans. Thanks!
Congrats!
The ad does not make me anxious but I think if I had to wear one of those outfits, it would make me very anxious.
Congrats on the contract. And felanilla is sooo good
Today I am wearing Galimard Rencontre and drinking chamomile tea. Rencontre is very similar to Prada Infusion d’Iris. Both are lovely.
Then it is a good match with the tea!
Lancôme jasmins marzipane today, and although I really like it, it’s not suiting my mood. I’m craving something sweeter, springier, or both! No “F” houses in sight…
I need to figure out tomorrow myself!
https://www.christchurchdailyphoto.com/2011/09/12/twisted-foot-bridge-over-the-avon-river/
The mention of the Floris perfume today has got me thinking about where I grew up on the banks of the river Avon in Christchurch. Every day I would bike along the river to school and cross a small footbridge. I always stopped on the bridge to look for trout or eels, and for about ten years a large Elephant seal called Elizabeth took up residence in the river and she used to lurk on the banks. It was a beautiful ride ( except in winter) lots of willows and a nice mulchy smell. The area along the river was pretty much completely destroyed in the earthquake and now all the houses and my old school are demolished, and the river bank and surrounding area is overgrown , like paddocks for miles and miles. The footbridge was badly damaged ( photo) but has been kept as a symbolic reminder.
Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit…wearing Journey .
https://www.google.com/search?q=elizabeth+elephant+seal+avon&rlz=1C9BKJA_enNZ646NZ646&oq=elizabeth+elephant+seal+avon&aqs=chrome..69i57.9812j0j7&hl=en-GB&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=_
I used to kayak on the avon and she would give me a massive fright at times when she huffed up out of the water near my canoe
The bridge looks beautiful even though it’s mangled.
It’s 8 years since the earthquake and for a time seeing my childhood/ parents home destroyed, my school, and much of my early neighbourhood/ friends’ houses gone felt really desolate but it’s amazing to see nature take over, and render all the old suburban streets along the river almost unrecognisable. You go from feeling your past erased to feeling hope in a way. Nature is incredible.
I’m sorry that your childhood home and neighborhood got destroyed. Why was it not re-built – was there fear another earthquake would happen in that particular area?
The land is too unstable to rebuild on. It is not on bedrock but layers of shingle
I hope Elizabeth had a happy ending in a peaceful place of her choice. My aunt and uncle live(d) part of the year in Christchurch, but were back home in Ireland when that massive earthquake did so much damage. They have been through a few smaller ones, but egads- no warning with those things!
She died from a viral infection and it had quite a big impact on the city as she was so well known…for sleeping on warm roads, cruising the river, and being around for so long
Your nature posts are always enchanting, an elephant seal seems so exotic, and you’re smelling great in Journey.
Thanks. I wish i could try the Floris perfume…even though it’s based on the English Avon river (after which the Christchurch Avon is named).
Hi friends! So I finally sucked it up and went to the doctor yesterday. Actually, I don’t have a PCP because I’m some combination of lazy and stupid and pretending to not be an adult, so I had to go to urgent care and wait for 1.5 h to see first a nurse and then a doctor for a total of 10 min to get a prescription for an antibiotic. Then I went to Walgreens, where it took a half hour for me to get registered in their system, because apparently I haven’t picked up any prescriptions in the past two years, since coming back to America? That seems bizarre, given how many trips I’ve had to take to the doctors’.
Anyway, it’s a good thing I went because I was really taking another turn for the worse. Today I’m working from home and honestly being quite lazy about it.
I’m in the mood for something sparkly, but I am concerned about putting on my favorite sparklers (Champagne de Bois, Incense Rose), in case the antibiotics make them smell off. What goes well with microbiome-altering drugs? Maybe I’ll try some new-to-me samples.
I’m glad you went and are on the road to recovery. Next time don’t wait so long, and go and get a primary doctor! Lol, this is me yelling like a mom!??
Hahaha 🙂 thanks, NST-mom! I did call and arrange a PCP while I was waiting in urgent care. Since I’m in no rush, it’s fine that the first new patient opening she has is in May. So yay! Look at me #adulting!
I hope the meds kick in soon and that you feel better sooner
Thanks, yasmina!
I second all that lillijo said! ? Hope the meds start working asap.
Thanks, Laura 🙂 The side effects are working properly, so hopefully the desired effects are too!
Oh no, that’s the worst! Yogurt for you and I hope you recover very soon! ?
Thanks, Nancyleandros 🙂 I made myself a pretty delicious bowl of Greek yogurt with honey and Maldon sea salt, which I should have for desserts even when not on antibiotics!
I’m enjoying all the smells wafting up from my sweater sleeves which got a bit doused in Angel Muse the other day during decanting.
Today is the beginning of carnival season in many places; the town where I went to university (Konstanz) has a huge “dirty Thursday” tradition where people dress up in white sheets and parade/run through town. Literally everybody is in costume and people celebrate through the night. In Germany, whether there is a strong carnival season or not depends on whether the region was traditionally catholic or protestant – growing up in a Protestant region, I had no clue that carnival was actually something adults did as well as kids!
I couldn’t find a good video at all, but this one shows what it looks like, sort of:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbWdplydJo0
This sounds like so much fun!
That looks like a ball!
Good morning from actual Friday! I’ll be wearing my one Fragonard today, Billet Doux. It’s a nice carnation, which I bought back in 2011, early in my perfume days.
Oh, carnation, lovely.
Flower l’Elixir is a worthy flanker, I think, you smell good Robin.
In the very potent Floris Rose Geranium today, it’s another favorite.
I agree, the best of the bunch imo
It is not as good as the Flower Oriental, but it’s pretty good.
Woke up to such a clear, sunny-but-cold day. The kind of day that usually energizes me, but, boy, have I been dragging today. I was really in the mood for lavender this morning – maybe I thought it would be a pick-me-up, but I have no lavender perfumes so went with some Lush Sleepy lotion which I don’t usually wear under clothing because it’s on the oily side. The name might be affecting me subconciously, lol. Also, the lavender is short lived and it’s mostly vanillic + cocoa butter smell after that.
I went and procured a L’Occitane orange blossom scented balm yesterday after holyneroli mentioned it. It’s nice, but it smells pretty much like the sweet Neroli & Orchidee scent they have. But I like the little tin and it’s a charitable donation.
We must be on the same wavelength with body products because I’ve been wearing Sleepy to bed almost every night lately. That *and* I got some samples of Caron Pour Un Homme in the mail yesterday, so I’m also in a lavender frame of mind.
The L’Occitane tin is pretty! I’m already thinking about how to repurpose it once the balm is gone.
I think I’m ab po ot to ho down a lavender rabbit hole (after my orange blossom/neroli) one dies down. How’s the Caron?
Once in a while I get a strong, inexplicable craving for lavender. I’m wearing the Caron today and really enjoying it – will post more in today’s SOTD poll.
This morning I was wearing F de Fragonard from a seventies looking vintage bottle. I haven’t been able to find out anything about this version. It started out old fashioned floral soapy. The drydown was what I believe to be lavender, and I ended up with a headache.
I went to the mall and ordered my new glasses. My first pair of bifocals! I’ve needed them for a long time, I’m just now conceding. I went to Macy’s where they stopped selling Aura, but did have the new summer Angel. It is very fruity, sugar berry-ey. After the initial spray, I don’t really recognize much Angel.
Be careful with those bifocals. Until you get used to them, it can be treacherous going up/down stairs/curbs, etc. ?
I plan on being careful. Hopefully I won’t find it to difficult.
It took me weeks to adjust to progressive lenses…I thought I would have to give up. Good luck!
Oh man, I love Aura. Is it going the way of womanity?
It might just be my Macy’s. As far as I know, Aura is sticking around.
Is that the new Angel in the lovely bottle? I think Robin posted a pic of it?
That’s the one. Gorgeous bottle.. a good happy summer smell.
I’m wearing Sarah Horowitz Untitled No. 3, something I found during a big search of my perfume cabinet the other day. I had completely forgotten I had it and in fact forgotten everything about it–when and why and where I bought it. Strange. It’s a small bottle and an oil. Very nice scent in which the standouts now after a couple of hours are yuzu, coriander, and amber. It’s supposed to have some other floral notes and musk but I’m not picking those up. Sticks to the skin without much sillage, but pleasant when I catch a whiff near my hands and wrists.
I am in myrhhe eglantine – it was calling to me from the sample stash. It’s nice and cheerful and mr. yasmina paid me a rare perfume comment.
I had to teach today and it wasn’t enough to cover up the cigarette stink of one of my students. I am an ex-smoker and am always horrified when i realize i must have smelled like that all the time!
Good for you for kicking the cigarette habit! My bf started smoking at a frighteningly young age and recently made the switch to an e-cigarette. I really want him to quit entirely, but gosh it sounds like such a tough addiction to break.
I smoked a pack a day for 10 years so I know how hard it is to quit. What did it for me was reading Allan Carrs book where he explains that it is precisely the framing of quitting as a question of self-will that gets in the way of quitting. I highly recommend you buy this book for your bf if he is open to trying something new!
Ha! Same here. I was smoking in utero and never know how not to smoke until about a decade ago. Aren’t we glad we quit? And just think of all the money saved that can now be diverted to perfume! ?
I am so glad we quit! Money and health saved AND we now smell fabulous not stinky
When I quit 25years ago, I bought a new pair of shoes every month with the cigarette money
Encens Mythique combined with one spritz of Rose Barbare. I love combining/layering a few of my Guerlains. Cuir Beluga plays well with others too. ?
Oh wow I bet you smell fabulous!
Easing back into perfume after being sick with a sample of Hippie Rose on one arm and Amber 114 on the other. The amber is obliterating the rose.
Glad you are feeling better!
I like the idea of Hippie Rose, but not sure I’d like that actual perfume. Is that a Byredo?!
Heeley. I need to try it by itself. I couldn’t get a sense of compared to the amber. Don’t think I’m going to need it though. Thank goodness.
2nd of 3 Fragonards being re-tested for the CP is “Beau Gosse”.
Just for a laugh, here are the supposed notes:
Top: citruses, lemon, bergamot, lotus and fruity notes;
Mid: rosemary, nutmeg, cardamom and cloves;
Base: musk, patchouli and virginia cedar.
And here are the real notes:
Top: airline wet wipe;
Mid: no, it’s fading to oblivion already…
Base: don’t be silly, it’s long gone.
Beau Gosse = Bogus.
Today’s perfume was brought to you by the letter F, as in Fragonard, feeble and faded.
Lol! I hope after your re-testing that you wear something that you enjoy ?
I think I will wear Annick Goutal “Myrrh Ardente” to bed – it’s 01:00 Friday morning here; I’ve been up late doing monthly expenses. Invoicing tomorrow. Wheeeee! (I don’t think) :^D
Haha! I just ordered a couple of Fragonard samples, but you’re making me regret it, lol.
Excellent!
For the final day of my Red Package challenge, I wore the ultimate Red Package perfume in my collection – CHANEL No5 L’eau RED EDITION. Same juice, different packaging. ❤️?❤️?❤️?❣️
It’s been quite the crazy week for me. After putting in a full day’s worth of work, I have had 1-3 calls with colleagues in Asia everyday this week, including later tonight. Thank God it’s Friday tomorrow. It’s Rabbit x 3 time as well!
I din’t Know why Indidn’tnthink if It sooner. When it’s colder out orbwhen there’s precipitation, I usually wear boots to commute in and end up wearing them all day. Last Sunday, I bought a pair of all black Skechers slip ons and switched to theme when I got to the office. While Inalready usually have a spring to my step, this pair made me bouncy! I highly recommend it. I will post a link in a different comment as I don’t want to lose everything I’ve typed so far.
Here’s a the link to the shoes I mentioned:

I asked my Macy’s lady today, if they sold many red bottles over the holidays. She said they didn’t sell many compared to the regular ones due to the price difference. Apparently, the rep came and took back what was left. I imagine the more exclusive stores did better with them. Do you have a March project planned?
No March project planned yet and probably won’t – it took too much brain space and I would rather use it for something else!
If you ever tire of the corporate life, I’m sure an equally successful creative one awaits you!
Scetchers are really comfy. I bought two pairs for my vacation. And they go with skirts too….
I am in Verveine today from my Fragonard small bottle collection. It is light, but I am still enjoying it.
I bought some of this last summer. It’s especially nice when it’s hot.
Yes, I usually wear it in warmer weather. I wore it to be on project today, and I did like it even though the temps are cold here right now.
A hectic day, an early start, and no chance to even think of perfume this morning. So I’m going to take a shower now and then cover myself in Queen body butter… I will smell like my own little party.
I have never managed to remember this, ever! So I’m cheating by a few hours: Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit!
(I wish this would make the predicted snow and sleet for tomorrow magically disappear…)
Enjoy the Queen! I wouldn’t mind hunting down some of that myself. Pretty sure you smell lovely!
Thank you! Wish I had already bought a bunch of back-ups…
I’ve been in several fragrances today….Ambre Loup before the gym, Pacifica Sandalwood and then Coach edp after the shower. ?
Which Coach is that? I have a edp that I think was the first or second one, that I like very much. Square bottle. The newer ones are nice too.
I have the rollerball of this one:

Liking it a lot! Easy to wear.
I’ve been very late in reading the past few days. Just want to say how sweet of your dad to leave you and your sisters a reminder of his humor — and his enduring love for you.
FearsMice, thank you so much. He could always find the humor, even in the most trying of situations. ?
