Memo Winter Palace ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 27 February 2019 23 Comments

French niche line Memo will launch Winter Palace, a new fragrance in the Art Land collection (Tiger's Nest, Marfa).

The end of winter has come. The Imperial Dragon awakens from his long hibernation. Spreading his wings a little tentatively at first, testing the air, but soon the longing for freedom and the breathtaking landscape of China awaken his fire. [...] From afar, one can see its flight path tracing the curves of the famous Great Wall of China that stretches across the hilly landscape. The dragon is dancing with joy, drunk with the feeling of freedom.

Winter Palace takes you into the realm of the dragon. [...] Precious orange oil, bergamot and the sweet aromas of red tea rise and mingle like hot steam in the cold morning air. It is a heady, invigorating start. The scent of mate and grapefruit reminds us of the ease of an everlasting summer. [...] Soon, the bright citrus notes give way and the woody-spicy character of the fragrance comes to the fore. Amber and vanilla combine in the base for a sensual, spiced warmth that lingers on the skin like the aftermath of love.

Memo Winter Palace will be available in 75 ml Eau de Parfum; look for it in April.

I wonder who designs and illustrates them? I love Chinese dragons!

Maybe the owners read NST and will chime in and tell us!

I love their bottles but have yet to try any of their stuff. Lots of talk of Tiger’s Nest on here has me tempted, though.

Hey, Dorsey, I just bought a sample after reading Jessica’s review, but it doesn’t really work for me. I’ll pass it on to you if you like.

Maybe if I had a perfume called Winter Palace, it would make me feel better about living in Winter Dungeon?

Maybe I can call my place in Vermont the Winter Palace? (I’m being ironic, found a dead rat in my boot the other day)

It was the Winter Palace for the rat.

The notes don’t sound dragon-y enough for me.

I tend to associate winter palaces with Russia rather than China but this does look and sound good

About half of the Memo line is on my -empty bottles- eBay list. I mean, some juice would be nice but I’ll take the empties with a smile.

Loved Tiger’s Nest but hated Tamarindo. Will give this a sniff, just for the bottle.
