Monday, and World Octopus Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm struggling to wake up with a spritz of L'Occitane Jasmin & Bergamote.
Reminder: on 10/12, wear a fragrance that evokes one of Pantone's colors for Fall 2018.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is Octopus vulgaris, Jatta Giuseppe (1860-1903) - I Cefalopodi viventi nel Golfo di Napoli (sistematica) : monografia via Wikemedia Commons.
I finished a decant of Smell Bent Violet Tendencies. The truth is I was thinking of the CP today, and thought the scent would be more violet. But it is leather all the way.
I tried to match a color this morning, brain was not awake enough 🙂
SOTD Samsara, going to try to wear this all week in the spirit of “use it up” as well as perfume edification. So maybe I’ll pick a new color every day that could match it 🙂 Today, I pick “Red Pear” as it matches the box color fairy well, and evokes deep woodsiness for me.
Joining you, in my case finishing a decant of Beige.
You smell great! Funny that there is no beige color on this Pantone line up 🙂
Mmm, you smell good. Red pear does match the box!
Thank you!
Testing Nicolai Eau d’Ete. I think it works as a match for Limilight – citrussy and effervescent.
As for the scent itself, unfortunately it reminds me of a cleaning product. So probably not for me.
I actually like the dry-down more. Nice cinnamon. But this scent is still not quite my cup of tea. But I have other Nicolai samples, so I hope to find a Nicolai for me. 🙂
Reminded me of a lime aftershave so not for me either.
Robin mentions in her review that some people find it too soapy or too musky. We are probably one of those people, even though I am usually okay with both musky citruses and soapy citruses.
More for me 😉
That’s the spirit. 🙂
And me! ????
This one reminded me, weirdly, of my oldest friend’s house and how the family’s clothes smelled. I think they may have used Ariel detergent – maybe that’s the cleaning product?
It’s possible, though I cannot say that this scent reminds of a particular cleaning product.
In Myrhhe Eglantine to brighten up a foggy and grey morning
oh, very pretty. ME is a gem. 🙂
Could you describe this one? Is the Myrhhe prominent?
Robin has a great review of it
https://nstperfume.com/2018/03/08/hermes-myrrhe-eglantine-fragrance-review/
To me the myrrhe is not prominent but to be honest it’s not a note a very familiar with
on me, it’s a lot of sweet dogrose, only toned down by myrrhe. lovely rose though, more humble and easy to wear than Serge Lutens ones, and sweeter than in Diptique L’Ombre
We were almost twins — I may wear that tomorrwo.
SotM = Eau de Guerlain = Limelight
SotA = Apres L’Ondee = Crocus Petal
I reached for a bottle and got EdG, I was expecting AL’O! LOL, that first spritz was a wake-me-up! The bee bottles all look the same in the semi-darkness of this cloudy morning. I’ll wear Apres L’Ondee later.
In other bee bottle news, I dropped my bottle of Vol de Nuit edt and the sprayer hit the hard floor without the cap on to protect it. It won’t spritz anymore, boo, but at least it doesn’t leak. So I’m going to have a long think about how to save the juice. Thankfully the bottle was not at all expensive! 😀
Oh no, so sorry about your Vol de Nuit!! I’m sure you will find a way to salvage it.
(But you do smell great even if unexpected.)
thanks on all counts, Robin!
I’m considering the syringe and needle method for saving VdN.
Thanks goodness the bottle didn’t break!
yes! I watched it bounce and was glad it didn’t shatter.
Scent and color twin – I was thinking of exactly the same color match for Apres L’ondee! (although I would pick a dusty pink if that was a fall 18 color).
hi twin! we smelled great today. 😀
Oh no!!! So happy, though, that the bottle didn’t break! (I think those bee bottles are gorgeous and am kind of sad I don’t own any.)
thanks, koyel, they are pretty bottles all in a row. 🙂
Good luck figuring out what to do with your VdN bottle! That’s a bummer.
I know, right? such a bummer, but it’s the first time I’ve busted a sprayer, so there’s that. 😉
Noooooooo not Vol de Nuit!!!
I said the same thing when I dropped it!
I’m scent free because I’ve decided to venture out and buy Tobacco Oud. I’m obviously not well restrained today. ????♂️
Now I’m singing Tobacco Road ????????enjoy your outing!
The Van Halen version?
No, the 1964 version, the Nashville Teens, I think.. that was my mom’s favorite ????
Commando…unless you count the scent of baking soda from an hour and a half of scrubbing the tub or bacon which I cooked up for the last mini Marzipan in the house 😉
I was like that yesterday – scrubbing floors and cooking Thanksgiving dinner, I was commando till evening.
Then, to make up for the delay, I spritzed and entire sample of vintage Joy 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving and Joy is a joy.
Happy Thanksgiving! I’m apple picking in Tea for Two L’Artisan
Wow- I bet that is one sparkling clean tub!
Smelling delicious in Eau de bacon.
What a workout!!! I was literally sweating as I used nothing but baking soda and a sponge.
Eau de Bacon absolutely counts as a SOTD! ????????????
LOL glad you approve ???????? and it was delicious!!
In Ninfeo Mio which would also suit Limelight. Thanks for the Nicolai Eau d’Ete mini review. One thing less to try!
Well, both Robin here and Victoria from boisdejasmine like Eau d’Ete and reviewed it positively. So maybe it will work for you. I’d say it’s worth sampling if you like dry fizzy citruses with a strange twist.
I enjoy Eau d’Ete, but I prefer L’Eau Mixte (L’Eau Chic is my favorite of the cologne-ish PDNs, but it’s not at all citrus). They’re both very light and easy to sample without an entire day’s commitment!
Interesting, thanks. I do not have the Eaus you mentioned, but I have other samples of fresh PdNs: Cap Neroli and Weekend a Deauville. I look forward to testing them.
I loooove the original (pre-reformulation) Weekend a Deauville, and I find Eau d’ete oddly comforting. There’s almost someting cola-ish about it. It’s definitely one of my fizziest scents!
A perfect pairing, I think.
Swapping my Le Labo samples for Dzing on the first really cool morning of the season. Not sure what color Dzing would be, maybe Ceylon yellow? Anyway, it is lovely as always.
Oooh, you smell amazing. I can’t wait for it to be cool enough for Dzing!
One of the winter colors, Meerkat, is a golden brown that would be perfect for Dzing!.
Is it just me or is that a particularly ugly set of colors? I’m thinking of them in clothes and feel they’d mostly be unflattering to a variety of skin shades. Maybe the olive one would be OK. I also am sure the blue at the end matches one of the Amouage bottles, though I can’t recall which one.
I love the octopus picture! They are such amazing and fascinating creatures. Did you see the news recently that scientists had tested how some of them react to ecstasy? (They liked it!) I really recommend this book too: Peter Godfrey-Smith, Other Minds: The Octopus, the Sea, and the Deep Origins of Consciousness. Fascinating and strange, eye-opening.
I feel the same way, about Pantone Colors, and about octopuses (ooh, and cuttlefish!).
The colors remind me of the J. Crew catalog in the early 2000s – seems a little soon to be nostalgic for that era. I think the ones on the right would be easy to wear for many people, maybe not the left half . . .
One more demonstration of how different we all are: I rather liked most of the colors and thought that, other that limelight, I’d wear them all (not at once 🙂 ).
I liked most of those colors, too! Some of them are in my closet.
Just ordered the book! NST is more than perfume 🙂
It is not the palette I see in my closet, that is for sure!
Calypso, I did see a similar article about octopi (plural???) and ecstasy on the BBC’s website. ????
Tea for Two today which is smelling so good to me this morning! I think it goes with the color Red Pear!
Tea for two is really good. It smells like a smoky chai tea on my skin.
You smell great!
Twin 🙂 perfect fall scent! you smell lovely.
Remember when Pantone started doing Colour of the Year, and it was one colour? And then they did two? And now look at them: ten colours all at once. You’d almost think they were taking a cue from the world of perfumery.
Anyway, I’ve had eight bottles of various sizes sitting on my desk for a quite a while now, and I usually wear one of those, out of mere indolence. Today I put on a shot of Yves Rocher Orange et Chocolat EDT, one of their Christmas limited editions from a few years ago, and definitely the best one: I went through a ton of the shower gel (bought all I could when it went on post-Christmas sale) because it smells intoxicatingly like a Terry’s chocolate orange.
Yves Rocher’s last couple of Christmas collections have been no great shakes, so I’m hoping they come up with something interesting this year.
Well those are separate things. They do still do a color of the year, but they also have done these fashion reports for the spring and fall fashion shows for years. And the fashion report is meant to be the forecast of the big colors for the clothes that season, so it can’t be one color.
(Not defending the system, just saying. I love the Pantone system because a) it has zero influence on my purchase of anything, although I did buy one actual Pantone plastic placemat to protect my table from my laptop and b) I like looking at colors. There is no real reason to use them as community projects unless you have actual synesthesia, and I really don’t think I do even if some fragrances cause an instant color connection.)
L’Artisan Au Bord de L’eau is my SOTD and I am currently drinking a cup of Earl Grey tea.
And I am having a triple strong cup of peppermint & spearmint 🙂
sounds delicious !
Had terrible middle of the night insomnia. I guess that late afternoon cup of coffee yesterday wasn’t such a good idea after all.????Tasted good at the time though. lol.
Monday’s are always tough after an especially lovely weekend. They are even harder when they are dreary and raining.
I needed something pretty today, so I am in Beige EDP.
Madtowngirl, I had a delicious cup of Vietnamese coffee at 6 pm on Saturday and woke up multiple times that night. It seems like 4 pm is about my limit! And I think that’s why I overslept today, making up for it, but really I do oversleep all the time lately so probably not.
Beige is a great rainy day choice. Name not withstanding, it is such a beautiful, warm, golden scent.
I love Beige (and, unlike many, do not mind the name). I should probably be your twin today.
I can commiserate with your caffeine woes. I’ve learned the hard way that any caffeinated beverage with dinner is a bad idea for me… it will want to party in the middle of the night when I want to sleep!
Fleurs de Sel, which could match with Martini Olive.
Plus, Fleurs de Sel sounds like it could be a martini.
SOTD is Alyssa Ashley’s Original Musk oil. It has a comforting warm and powdery base.
This morning’s smoothie is spinach/kefir/vanilla protein powder, kiwi, pineapple & lime. It almost tastes like a cocktail!
Happy Monday to all!
Just have to work a quick 3 hour shift at the airport today.. thinking about being decadent and wearing vintage mitsouko extrait. Looking forward to my bottles of nahema EDP and ormond Jayne ta’if coming in the mail this week.
Congratulations on your new bottles!
Yay for a 3 hour shift!
Matching Limelight with PdN Cologne Sologne. Lots of bright citron in this.
Almost twins? I chose Limelight and a PdN scent too (although a different PDN). 🙂
Reading Kafka’s review this weekend had me dig up my few samples from both Ensar Oud and Areej le Dore to re-explore.
Currently trying ALD Siberian Musk and enjoying the vintage, green opening (a little goes a long ways!).
In a more obscure house today–The Burren Perfumery, testing samples of Winter Woods and Frond that my mother brought back from her recent trip to Ireland. I definitely like Winter Woods (nothing like the SSS perfume though) and am trying to make up my mind about Frond. It at first smelled like an almost juicy, violety rose, a rosy rose… but then a flashback (oddly enough from a summer I was working in Belfast) of a synthetic aerosol room spray that was overused came to me… so, hmmm. . .
Didn’t you order a candle a while back and did you like it? I have Autumn Harvest Edt from the Burren perfumery but don’t wear it often even though I like the opening a lot (wet blackberry). The Burren Perfumery is a lovely, lovely place to visit – beautiful scenery, great little cafe. They do a first or last Friday of the month special that’s always a pretty good deal on their FB page, so I often order soaps etc. as teacher gifts from them.
Wearing And the World Is Yours, which was given to me by an extremely generous NSTer 🙂 As a result, not only do I smell amazing, but I’m also full of the warm fuzzies.
Which I need, because the network at work still sucks, which fills me with cold antifuzzies.
I had the privilege of working yesterday >.< but also yesterday, I had a lunch party for some friends with babies! It was our first time hosting children, and I was thrilled with how well it all went. Both children are 2 years +/- 6 months old, but both were very well behaved and sweet and ADORABLE. Conveniently, they are also fond of grown-up food. So at least I had the memory of the two little cuties as I worked in lab all afternoon/evening.
What a great memory to carry to work.
🙂
Isn’t it amazing how refreshing it can be to spend time with little ones? For awhile you forget troubled times. Glad you had fun.
Yes! It’s great to see the world through new, unjaded, constantly amazed eyes for a while.
Oh! I am of course russet orange.
Happy to hear that you had some pleasant thoughts and warm fuzzies to take to work with you.
And photos that will brighten up my entire week 🙂
Safran Troublant for me today
Twin! We smell fabulous.
It seems like there are a lot of people in L’Artisan scents today.
I’m in Shalimar edc today and it smells fantastic over Bliss Vanilla Bergamot lotion. I always think of Shalimar as dark blue because of the cap but the edc is lighter and more lemon-y so I’m thinking it goes with the Nebula Blue or maybe Limelight. I agree with everyone who’s said it’s not a great color lineup but the last color of the year that I loved was Emerald and that’s been several years ago. I wear navy almost all the time so what do I know 🙂
My favorite-favorite Shalimar “flanker”!It truly smells SO GOOD!!
Ha, and I am nearly always in black, white or grey. Maybe that’s why I love looking at Pantone line ups.
My kindergartener was ill as we pulled into the parking lot this morning for school. 🙁
I am enduring…but barely…she is now asking to eat. 😉
Wearing Mancera Roses Vanille and Lucy B Tiare Coconut today and about to make cup of coffee number two… 🙂
Hope she feels fine soon!
Uh oh, hope the meal does the trick!
Happy Monday!
1) SOTD: A combo of Karma body cream and Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere. I smell very Russet Orange, honestly.
2) My work campus looks like a Japanese watercolor painting- truly beautiful, despite the drizzle! Muted oranges, golds, and reds set against the gray mist and white rising fog.
3) Stayed in this weekend, and made blueberry jam and biscuits for Sunday brunch. Also made batches of chicken broth, quinoa and brown rice for meals later on in the month. The whole house smelled heavenly.
After wearing Montale Full Incense, I am wearing Jicky today. Full Incense seems to be a ripoff of CdG Avignon with a longer wear time.
Commando… Doing deep cleaning at home. Not sure if I will wear something post-shower later today.
Happy Monday everyone!
Oh yay, you have a day off!????
So grateful for the day off despite all the work at home! ????
I should be doing what you’re doing today! I settled for cleaning the bathroom. Hope you enjoy your fresh, clean home!
I hope your bathroom cleaning goes smoothly! I have not finished mine yet, but I will be relieved after postponing the taks last week!
I deep cleaned my bathroom this weekend too and changed my decor for more cozy winter tones. I did my other br a few weekends ago. So glad they are both done!
SCENT TWIN -LOL!!! and deep cleaning twin too!
Hello double twin! ????????
Work in a little me-time and some perfume also today,OKAY?Ok.
????????✌????❤️????
I will!
????❤????
Cleaning triplet today! I scrubbed the shower before I used it this morning. It was time. ⏳
Hello triplet! Tasks done! We deserve some resting time now!
Tomorrow or Wednesday will be “Vacuum the stairs” day. ????
Good luck! ????
Continuing my use it or lose it, and wearing 1932. I really adore this fragrance. I also thunked another BBW lotion yesterday. I’m tired and blah today, but the sun is shining so yay!???? also, I like the colors, I will try and match something tomorrow.
Jeleaous of your sunny day! ????????????. We have not seen the sun in days! It was supposed to be bright this weekend, but it looks like Mother Nature changed its mind and decided to reward you instead! At least the temps are warm! ????
Well yesterday it was fifty and rain, during my nieces outdoor baby shower! Today 82 and sun. Crazy weather!
I’m on the wrong side of the clouds again today! More grey and even some misty drizzle. Yech. ☁
I just came outside for lunch and got caught in a surprise thunder shower!
Whoops! ☔⚡
SOTD is the frightfully cheerful Hendley Amora which matches Valiant Poppy pretty perfectly and is a nice contrast for the cool, misty, grey day. I always liked the grey-red combo. Happy to have the day off today!
I have been wanting to try this one – enjoy your day off!
Thank you! I will ????
It’s a fun scent, very fruity but not in an artificial way.
Good for the day off! Hope you get some rest!
Yes, it was a low key day.
Decided to try Lancôme Lavande Trianon from a generous sample my sister gave me. She bought it unsniffed and loves it. I like lavender quite a lot. Just straight up lavender, as in hand lotions. I prefer it to have a slightly minty note. This is nice at first blast and the color I can see matching is the Crocus one.
I had on OJ Frangipani yesterday and wished I’d carried the travel spray with me… we walked over three miles and ended up at a flea market. I could only take a few minutes before I asked my husband if we could leave. The air was so heavy and so still, I just became too uncomfortable. Thankful for a bus with powerful AC….
Thanks for reviewing Lavande Trianon. I am always interested in lavender scents.
The dry down is duskier. Still quite nice…pretty basic lavender. Not as dry as Burberry Brit Rhythm.
I have a decant of Lavandes Trianon and what you describe sounds nothing like it – I think my decant is mislabeled. Is the juice a dark amber color in your sample?
Nope. Mine is your basic light colored juice. Color of clover honey.
Monday in Aedes Musc Encense
I’m in Odori Iris, thanks to a new swapmeet partner. It matches Crocus Petal – starts out a little rooty, then softens nicely in a few minutes. It’s so nice to get the chance to try this! I’d never heard of it before.
And I’d almost forgotten that one!
I’m a little skeered if that octopus, but hey, if cooked right, it has a better mouth-feel than squid!
SOTD = Le Labo Iris 39
It was one of my earliest purchases from Barneys since I fell down the rabbit hole and it continues to be a favorite!
I would match this with Nebulas Blue.
I survived the party this past Saturday without anybody bringing up any political comment, snarky or otherwise.
Return Policy gone amok:
I had to do a quick (is there such a thing?) Costco run to return a brand new item I received as a gift but don’t use. The person in front of me was returning a couch she bought a year ago and had been using since then AND a bunch of super-sized cloth-covered decorative pillows (also used and haphazardly re-packaged). This is why Costco items are not necessarily the lowest cost choice anymore for things if a certain quality. Jeez Louise. I can understand if the item was somehow damaged but it did not seem to be the case! It was buyer’s remorse a year later.
Glad the party went well???? people are so unscrupulous with returning things. I’m surprised they took it back. Here’s a funny one…. a while back, a lady was eating a bag of chips in line that had not been paid for. When she got to the front she said she wanted to return the chips because she didn’t like them! She actually argued until the customer behind her called her on it.
SMH. Seriously!
There really should be a no eating unless offered to you policy. I have seen people nipping grapes from several packages meant to be sold as an intact package, not by weight. First, that is wrong, so wrong? Second – ewwww, grapes should be washed before eating.
Maybe those folks like the taste of pesticides and dirt? Adds a special tang to the fruit.
How is that even possible AND allowed to return things a year later…A YEAR????????♂️????????♂️????????♂️
I don’t know but I’d return 75% of what I buy.
Costco and Lands End have the most liberal policies, no questions asked. I would not be able to live with myself if I did what that person did.
Iris 39 is one of those perfumes that I want to have in my wardrobe, so I will replenish it (at least as a decant) once my current decant is done. You smell wonderful!
Until I came to the US, I didn’t know such concept as “return”: where I grew up I’m not sure you could easily do it even if it didn’t work – let alone if you just changed your mind.
I appreciate being able to try something at home, without any pressure, and return it if I change my mind. I’m glad that I have a possibility to take back to Nordstrom an expensive cream or lotion that caused a rush and return it – even though I started using it. But I do not like when people abuse Costco’s return policies: they are spoiling it to all of us. So either things will get more expensive (we don’t expect that Costco will eat up those losses, do we?), or Costco will change the policy, and usually when it happens, changes will be more strict than necessary to address these outrageous abuses.
Thank you. I would only return something used to Nordstrom if it was damaged or if I was allergic to something (no matter the price).
I’d call a Costco run quick if it takes 30 minutes or less. ???? That doesn’t happen very often.
Glad to hear that you survived the party! I hope that at least part of it was pleasant or enjoyable for you as well.
30 minutes is a good gauge of quick at Costco!
I enjoyed the party!
Good to hear that! It can be horrible when a social event goes either wrong or awkward.
In Etro Dianthus today, I didn’t wear it at this summer, it’s soft but long-lasting, a really lovely carnation, it would match a dusty pink.
That sounds really lovely. Carnation is wonderful.
Lizzie, I’m with you on carnation, and Dianthus is quite realistic, it’s quiet, but lasts a long time too.
Hmmmmm, I had Dianthus on my sample list a while back.
I recommend it, it really is lovely, Etro has some good ones, I haven’t tried them all, but the three I own, I really love.
World Octopus Day – excellent! They are amazing creatures. Not so much of a perfume inspiration, however.
I’m planning to wear OJ Orris Noir to match my clothes. I always think of iris perfumes as best worn with purples, which is a bit silly as irises come in every colour, but also useful for this week’s theme 🙂
True, but eventually there will be a Zoologist Octopus, I hope!
Oh gosh, yuk????I am so sea food smell adverse.
Have you tried Bat? I can’t imagine Octopus could be any worse.
It’s cool and rainy here, so i made the switch to wearing SJP Lovely.
Wore Kelly Caleche this weekend. Also, the Aveda Shampure dry conditioner and the body spray. Sooo good. Getting my hair cut tomorrow so will be all the aveda smells.
Lovely is the #1 comment getter among my students. Today I wore Vetiver Tonka and was loving it, but it’s no Lovely to eighth-graders.
Magic perfume parcels day: a decant of the new Zoologist scent t-rex, AND some Cuir Mauresque from a ridiculously generous friend. T-rex is a lot less monstrous than I expected, and a very comfortable and interesting wear, with a smmmmmmoky start. I look forward to spending more time with this and getting to know it.
Other bonus of the day: a very bold little squirrel found the seeds and breadcrumbs I’d scattered outside my study window… and sat and ate every scrap. Now, the window is just above ground level, so sitting on the sill puts cats and squirrel eye to eye. One very excited cat wriggled and chattered and performed squirrel-charming manoeuvres for the whole two hours of this snacking. Squirrel was entirely unbothered by me or Atkins. Older cat was entirely unbothered by the squirrel, having worked out there was no way to get to it. She sat with her back to the window, and was practically rolling her eyes at small’s shenanigans, songs, and interpretive dance.
I love how older cats can show derision.
Yep. “The kitty butt of disdain” is a commonly used phrase with my cats.
CP this week seems like a lot of fun- it will inspire me to move away for a while from Chanel No5 L’Eau, which I was wearing for almost 2 weeks non stop.
Today I am wearing Marni Marni and pairing it with Valiant Poppy color.
Happy Monday Everyone!
Perfect! Maybe I’ll wear that one this week.
Sampling Providence Perfume Co Sedona Sweetgrass today. Not sure about this one. Mainly I am getting the sorta acrid pine-sappy scent that seems to be required somewhere in every indie perfumer’s lineup. Sigh. Another blind buy gone awry, you would think I would know by now, but nope nope nope. If this were a color I think it might be Ceylon Yellow (which doesn’t appeal to me, either). Lemon Liada was nice though — could match with Limelight.
In grumpier news (jeez 2018 is not my favorite year) I managed to jam (maybe break) a toe on Saturday (what a klutz) so husband and I are now both gimping around. SIGH.
At least it feels like fall! Yesterday we were socked in with smoke from fires up north, but today it’s clear and cool: it’s so nice to be able to open the windows today.
Ouch! Hope that’s only bruised.
How’s mister pixel’s bone healing going?
If you ask me, and his doctor, it’s going pretty well. If you ask him, it should be all better already, and he’s very annoyed that it’s not (rolling my eyes).
I think this is a minor law of nature: time slows down when you are expected to be patient about something you can’t control.
(but yay on going well, even if Mr P is climbing the walls)
So sorry about your toe, and your not-good blind buy!
Ow ow ow ow for your poor toe! I’ve done that too and it sucks!
Oh no! Hope your toe heals soon!
Oh no!!! Hope that toe gets better fast! (Which foot? Not your driving foot, I hope?)
This week’s community project was far from my mind this morning when I picked Oro to wear, but it kind of goes with Ceylon Yellow. Our humane society got a shipment of dogs rescued from a Korean dog meat facility and there is a giant furry one that I want to visit. They won’t be eligible for adoption for a while but in the meantime we can observe each other.
Monday in Un jardin sur le Nil, maybe either Limelight or the dark green one?
Tea was Earl Grey Provence by MF, a solid lavender blue!
Forgot to mention the octopus… Did you all see the video of the seal rearing up and slapping a kayaker with an octopus! Hilarious.
I did! I immediately forwarded a link to my best friend about that.
Joop What About Adam.Although the juice is the perfect green color,I associate it with soft lilacs and purple lavender buds swaying in the wind,on a crisp Spring morning in sunny Grasse…✌????
That sounds rather nice!
That is an awesome under the radar tomato leaf fragrance that I wish I would have bought when it was showing up at the discounters.
Crocus Petal, Apres L’Ondee, from the swapmeet – the scent was lovely while it lasted, but I will reapply something else (Amouage sample from freebiemeet?) when I get home.
I’m wearing Norell Elixir today (AKA “Angel and Si Lolita had a baby”). I don’t know that it really matches any of the colors, but I guess if I had to pick one, I’d go with Valiant Poppy.
Wearing a couple sprays of Orris Tattoo today I’d say it matches Crocus Petal.
We are home today; back from our Thanksgiving festivities yesterday. Watched the first Harry Potter movie this morning and had leftover turkey and dressing for lunch! A good day.
Yesterday I wore some Chanel No 5 body creme and a few sprays of Chanel No 19 EDT for good measure.
Extra dressing/stuffing is one of the best things about Thanksgiving eats IMO. ????
I had a perfume-adjacent THUNK! today. I finished off a large tube of Bliss Body Butter in Lemon & Sage that I had been using for the past 2 summers. I’m pondering whether to get another one for next summer, but that’s a while off.
This week is sampling Oriza L. Legrand scents, thanks to at least 2 fantastic NSTers. Yesterday was Chypre Mousse. It certainly lives up to its nickname of Eau de Crypt! My first thought after spray it was “I gotta wear this on Halloween!” ???? It has definitely earned a place on my “Wonderful and Weird!!!” scents list.
SOTD = Oriza L. Legrand Horizon EdP, from the sample stash. It has booze, dark cacao, tobacco, patchouli, and a vanilla-ish amber on me. If I had to assign a color to it, it would be a dark brown somewhere between dark milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Doesn’t match any colors in the set above.
Another Thunk! Great!
????
Fun perfumes to test!
I am still working on finishing my bliss lemon and sage body scrub – it feels like putting lemon butter cream frosting on my body in the shower – I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything else for the shower until I finish that.
I’m trying not to look up any info on the Legrands before trying them as far as notes go. That way, I can note what I smell without (hopefully) any prior expectations.
I’ll have to try that method – I usually only last 30 seconds before I look it up ????♀️
Ack! I just now saw the typo up above… should be “after sprayING”, not after spray.
Super late and on night 4/4! Still upright but leaning about 45 degrees! ????
SOTD is Box of Eels to help my back to a 90 degree stance. Come on 7am!
You folks smell fabulous this Monday evening. Waft on! ✌????
22 days…. Or 11 days and repeat once…that’s it
