Tuesday and World Water Monitoring Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
It was not my plan, but my hand went right for L'Eau de L'Artisan. Tea at the moment is a Keemun Hao Ya, and I am grateful for it even if it did not come from that teapot.
Reminder: 9/21 is the International Day of Peace *and* World Gratitude Day. Wear a fragrance that fits.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Sieger by Fürstenberg Wunderkammer porcelain teapot no. 2, with tea strainer, is about $600 at Artedona.
☕☕☕????????????????
☔☔☔Such a cold (warm sticky actually) and a rainy day
Where on earth is the sun anyway?
????????????Monotone heady jasmine for a monotonous weather day, A la Nuit ????????????
This is MORE dirty knickers than yesterday’s MKK. ????????????✌
Wow, dirtier than MKK? Now that’s saying something! I’m more likely to get that note from orange blossom, of all things.
You smell great Bear!
I didn’t think MKK was very dirty either. But, I think my smut meter registers a bit different than most folks. Smelling good, Mr Bear✌????
You smell fantastic Bear. I love A la Nuit, but alas, so fleeting!
I love A la Nuit! You smell fab!
You smell beautiful!
LOVE A la Nuit! Indolic jasmine is something I enjoy a lot.
Thanks for the ????????????????jasmine ????Everyone ! ????????????✌????
Today I am grateful for modern veterinary medicine. My avatar pup, Ollie contracted kennel cough, and due to his compromised immune system, became quite ill. He had been vaccinated, but he spent his 1st six months living on the streets in Spain, and he is a runt.
Some antibiotics, cough meds and a smooch from the vet ( Ollie is very smoochable) and my little goober is resting mostly comfortably.
I, on the other hand, am a broke, sleep deprived, mess. Wearing Orlov, Orlov today. The entire brand sits well on my skin, but this particular one is very soothing.
Happy to hear your pup is on the mend! ????
pups, we love them and we make ourselves broke over them. Best wishes to you both. I have never heard of Orlov but the sounds like it belongs in a novel.
sorry about your pup! Sending healing thoughts
Oh, he does look smoochable! Poor thing! Orlov is gorgeous!
P.S.–Mom and I were shopping for cat supplies for her new kitty and a lady asked us to reach a small bottle for her. I asked if she was bottle feeding a kitten, and she said no, a puppy. I asked what kind, and she said, “I have it right here!” and pulled out a teensy puppy from her purse! He was the runt of 9 and the mama rejected him, and he was only 4 days old and would fit in your palm–a pug-Chihuahua mix. I really hope she manages to pull him through.
TINY pupper!
(I saw the sweetest very young splotch-patterned staffie out on what was clearly his first walk on a lead the other day… though worried that he was too young to have had all his jabs yet. Couldn’t have been more than 10 weeks…12 at a push.)
((hannasmom)) – so sorry to hear that, much hugs to you and the puppers! I hope your pup makes a complete recovery!
Poor little Ollie. I hope his health improves and starts to feeling better soon.
Hope your pup makes a speedy, full recovery!
Glad your sweet pup is doing better. Hopefully you can get some sleep!
Sorry about your puppy. I doesn’t matter if they are 8 weeks old or 8 years and, they are still your puppy.
Big hugs to you and your sweet puppygirl! I hope you can both relax and recuperate this week.
Hoping for full recovery for you both!
Pup on the mend! Poor Human!
Have a nap and you smell lovely.
Healing thoughts to your pup and hugs to you.
Wishing your pup a speedy recovery!
Glad Ollie is on the mend! What a cute name, for a cute pup!
It must be such a relief that he’s getting better, now, time for you to think of you, too.
Poor little doglet. And poor you, worrying about him. Hope you both get a big strength boost and bounce back fast.
My neighbours have a couple of rescue dogs from Spain, who were both in a bad way at the start–one a street dog, the other a discarded hunting dog. They are bloody lovely puppers.
Glad to hear that your dog is getting the TLC and vet care that he needs!
I’m in the remnants of Chergui again. Because I needed it. Also, just slapped in some Burt’s Bees Hand Salve and got a compliment. Go figure. It smells like bug spray to me, but works wonders on my dry cracked hands.
Tuesday, you’re BEAUTIFUL! My first of four days off! ????????????????
Happy vacation! Have to remember that hand salve for the winter.
It’s pretty good, but does leave your hands a bit oily, so I can see where some wouldn’t care for it.
Yay! I’m on the 4th of my 4 days off and I really needed them. I hope this week goes more smoothly for me. Enjoy your break!!
Hope you enjoyed your mini-vacay! Those 4 days in a row are balm for the soul.
Oh do enjoy your days off!!
Thanks, hope you’re enjoying some New Mexico fall weather. The colors up in higher elevations should be starting to turn, no?
Enjoy your four days off! I just survived my night shift!????
Oh, happy to hear you made it in one piece! Is it over and done altogether or are you obliged to work others in the future?
Your poor hands, Deva 🙁
So glad you found a remedy, I like Burt’s Bees product and hope you will keep applying the salve now that you have some time off.
Thanks Aurora! I’m trying to get mt hands in shape but it’s hard due to the frequent handwashing/disinfecting at work. In my next life, I will be a pampered lady????
Enjoy your days off! I am also thanking you for the heads-up on that hand salve. I seem to need really heavy-duty moisture for my hands in winter weather, so I am always on the lookout for that kind of stuff.
Ginger Biscuit and Argan and Birch body lotion
You smell awesome! ????
Thanks ????
Yum.✌????
I was thinking of you when I sprayed it on today!!! You and middle Marzipan cause I bought that one for her for her 18th bday!
Santal 33 from a decant. Love how it develops into a nice floral.
You smell like everyone in NYC.
It’s funny, I have Santal 26 which is meant to be a room spray. I got it in London at Liberty. The SA told me I could wear it as a perfume if I wanted to. I think I prefer it to Santal 33. The 26 is much more a pepper scent and quite nice. I never have heard it discussed.
I like pepper in a scent, it breaks things up nicely and adds heat. 🙂 Lovely!
I have the Santal 26 candle which I like very much and it has lasted me 3 years (and still going)! I do like the smell of 26 better than 33- I think it smells woodier and doesn’t have the dill note I pick up in 33.
I wish “everyone” in NYC smelled like Santal 33. It would be a very pleasant city to live in then ????
LOL I was about to say- if only everyone DID!
We wish, right?
It also like the way Santal 33 develops. Even though many people do not like it I find it very enjoyable.
Me too! Plus it’s one my daughter wears, so it just reminds me of her since she lives in a different city.
So nice that you have such a beautiful connection between your daughter and Santal 33. I love when a perfume reminds us of a very dear person!
I am smelling beautiful in Infusion d’Iris thanks to the swap meet
Spraying an iris based perfume is perfect on this rainy humid day…
Tea is espresso from my new machine which I made into a very yummy cappuccino.
I tested the rest of the Essential parfumes ( I couldn’t wait) from the sample set, and if I had a favorite it would be the Rose Magnetic. The notes are:
Grapefruit, peppermint, Turkish rose absolute, rose extract, lychee, cedar, vanilla, tonka and price point is very good!
I haven’t tried that one. The notes sound good ! I will have to give that one a try.
let me know if you do try it, they are all very nice though some run on the side of too masculine for my taste
Sounds like you’ve got the hang of the new machine!
Yes, but its been a lot of trial and error. And water temperature…
The prefer the simplicity of my french press but the espresso is a manual one (no pods) so I am able to compost the grounds
I meant to say I prefer the simplicity
Twins! I love this one for cutting through the humidity, plus I always think of it as my most professional-smelling perfume. Great for my meetings, even if I did show up all wet from the rain 🙂
You smell great!!!
I think is professional smelling and can take you into an evening out…
Coco Madamoiselle (sp?) because a student gave it to me.
You smell so good !! What a nice gift to receive 🙂
Such a nice gift!
Smelling like Moss Gown, which is very ME and I suppose there’s peace to that kind of congruity.
It’s also lovely and you smell great!
I watched Gone With the Wind this weekend, and reading “Moss Gown” immediately made me think of Scarlett’s drapery dress 🙂 So that’s how I’m picturing you, golden tassels and all 😉
You know, I think I was always sort of picturing that too, though I never consciously realized it till now!
Moss Gown sounds very intriguing- went to fragrantica to check out notes and reviews. Adding it to my to try list.
I’m not usually one for tea or fancy teapots, but that teapot is truly gorgeous and I want it! Commando so far, but will report in later; I brought perfumes to Michigan expecting cool weather but it’s been hot and I’m not sure what to put on.
Do let us know!
If you have time to kill, go look at the rest of that china collection, it’s pretty darned lemmable:
https://www.fuerstenberg-porzellan.com/en/Shop/Collections/SIEGER-by-FUeRSTENBERG/MY-CHINA/WUNDERKAMMER/?lang=1
Bottega Veneta today, thinking it was cooler out than it is. I usually save this one for cooler temps, but I think I like it better with a little heat- it seems less dry/peppery and the sweeter notes are amped a bit. Anyway, enjoyed spraying it from that awesome fine mist bottle, and it’s a pleasant diversion from my usual, dry Tuesday AM meeting.
Forgot to ask, how was your ukelele performance in Central Park?
Second that question. I wore BV
in the heat this past weekend and thought the same. You smell great.
Thanks! And glad to have another multi season perfume now. I think I actually prefer it in the heat.
It was really a lot of fun and thanks for asking! It was my first time playing with this group of people and everyone was so welcoming.
We got asked by someone who saw us play to come play at an upcoming memorial service for her father at the end of Sept, which I think is so sweet ????
So glad it was so successful and that you have another ukelele performance for an event so meaningful and touching!
Nice!!
Fantastic!
Bottega Veneta works for me in all 4 seasons, too. The only weather I have not tried it in is extremely cold weather, and I am not in a hurry for THAT to show up! ????❄☃
I think in really cold weather I smell it mostly on my clothing, and I like it less on clothing than on skin. I’m with you on being in no hurry for snow-though worse for you all who have to drive, I think. I’d really, really hate it then.
I have a few scents going on this morning: Shalimar powder, Rose Milk Skin Care Lotion and Essential Parfums Nice Bergamote.
T
Also, I am drinking a cup of French Breakfast Tea.
I am trying the samples from Essential Parfums, I loved Nice Bergamonte and the Rose Magnetic. Which do you prefer
I am enjoying Nice Bergamote — very easy to wear. I’ll check my samples to see if I have Rose Magnetic. I read your description, and its looks like something I’d like.
Chiming in too that my favorites in the line are Nice Bergamote and Mon Vetiver. Rose Magnetic comes in third and The Musc and Orange X Santal went to the giveaway pile. Orange X Santal was too traditional masculine for my taste and The Musc was very average smelling.
Its impossible to be in a bad mood and wear Nice Bargamote
Yes, it’s a very happy scent. I may need to wear it this week if my workload keeps you the way it is.
I saw these comments and ordered up the sample set immediately!
Shalimar Powder and Rose Milk just sent me right back to childhood 🙂 You surely smell divine.
Thanks ! Rose Milk reminds me of my childhood also. No one in my family wore Shalimar though. I remember my Mom buying it as a gift for someone back in the early 80s. I smelled it, and made a face. It took me a long time to appreciate Shalimar, but I love it now.
My mom used Rose Milk lotion when I was a kid. That would probably be a nostalgic sniff for me…
My grandmother used Rose Milk. My mom used and still uses Jergens. I love both of these products. Nostalgic for me also. Plus they smell so good !!
SotM = Vanille Galante
I love it when I’m just waking up, not quite conscious, and a fragrance will pass through my mind. Today it was VG. I smell like I’ve had a bit too much to drink, rum and vanilla, hic! Lucky me, it will wear off by the time I get to school this morning.
I’m having a Hermes thing right now. In the past few days I’ve worn Hiris, EdM (twice), Iris Ukiyoe, and Myrrh Eglantine. They all feel effortless.
I love Vanille Galante ! You smell great.
thank you, Barqs! VG always makes me 😀
Hermes really agrees with me overall. A majority of their scents are FB worthy for me.
I feel the same! Hermes is my house. 😉
SOTD is Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Pampleune – citrus, bitter greens and patchouli. 🙂
Running so late today, alarm clock conspiring against me, again! I must get coffee pronto.
Pamplelune and coffee will save your day for sure! You smell great!
Thanks! I managed to score a quick few cups. I need to get a new alarm clock!
Passing you a virtual cup of French press…☕️
Very nice !! The AA Pamplelune, not the alarm clock 🙂
Boo hiss on the evil alarm clock conspiracy! ⏰⏳
Jalapeno, exactly!
SmokeyToes doesn’t like it either, if he’s on the bookshelf when it goes off (thankfully, to NPR, not an alarm), he’s sure to hiss and smack it off the bookshelf!
*good kitty* 😀
In Heeley Sel Marin. One of my favorite beachy scents. I imagine myself walking by the ocean on this warm, grey, rainy day. It would be very relaxing and peaceful. At least I am enjoying the thought on another busy, crazy, freezing day at work. At least, Sel Marin is making me dream of better places! ????
I hope your day goes by quickly!
Thank you! I also hope it goes quick ????
You paint a beautiful picture ????????????⚓⛵⛱️????
It is! Just dreaming…. 😀
Sel Marin takes me right to the ocean. You smell great.
Thank you Amy! Such a happy and great scent!
From your description, Sel Marin seems like just the ticket for an escape from uninspiring surroundings.
I also want to thank you very much for the mini review of Gathering Apples versus Forbidden Games, very helpful.
It is! If you love marine perfumes, Sel Marin is worth trying. It takes you right to the ocean!
Perfumes are a wonderful gateway to another world and place sometimes.Love that.✌????❤️
????????❤
How does the Sel Marin compare to Miller Harris’ Fleurs de Sel?
Fleurs de Sel is more focused on vetiver and leather, if I remember well from a sample. It is similar to TDC Sel de Vetiver.
Sel Marin is more aquatic, centered on seaweed and algae. The vetiver is not that pronounced here. It smells like ocean water. Salty and very mineral.
Thank you!
It’s hot as blazes again today and I have a ton of not fun things to do. Messe di Minuit today to help me be cool and calm. C’mon fall!
Good luck on the not-fun-stuff! I have a fair amount of that today too.
As do I but I fear they’ll be put off for another day. Best to the two of you in getting un-fun things done!
Always put off for tomorrow….that’s my motto, anyway! 😉
I really like Messe di Minuit – it can be cool in hot weather, and warm in cold temps.
I’m inside in the cool, enjoying Mona di Orio Myrrh Casati, from the swapmeet. Lovely fragrance – thanks to my swap partner!
You smell great!
Mmm, I’ll bet that’s a nice one.
Yay, glad you’re enjoying it!
It’s really nice…a perfect fall fragrance. ???? Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to try it!
What’s the Myrrh Casati like?
Seconding this question. I have been curious about it too.
There’s a lot of cardamom, smoke and pepper to start with, but the smoke dissipates pretty quickly. It’s assertive out of the gate, but settles and gets almost snuggly in a half hour or so. It wears close; not much projection on me, but it lasted a good six hours. I like it, and am looking forward to trying it again in cooler temps. Hope this helps! It’s the first MdO I’ve tried, (I think!), so I have no idea how it compares to her other offerings.
Thanks for the review. I haven’t tried anything from this range either.
I did kind of finish a bottle of perfume. A bottle of vintage Miss Dior was evaporating pretty quickly in the bottle so I have been finishing it off quickly, using it as a bed time scent. So I finished off the last half ounce this morning. Good thing I have a back up vintage. Those dabbers and screw tops do evaporate pretty quick. I am looking at a couple spray bottles that are reasonably priced on Ebay and yes, I am getting a bottle. I shall continue on with vintage Miss Dior today.
That’s a bona fide thunk in anyone’s book. Congrats!
I love the bedtime scent idea. I may have to steal that!
Inspired by you, I’m wearing vintage Miss Dior parfum (I haven’t noticed any evaporation issues with my two partial bottles but I’ll keep an eye on them).
Beautiful perfume!
Testing Wasanbon by Satori. LT calls it a hideous gourmand, a complete dud in the otherwise brilliant Satori range. I do disagree but mostly because I can’t smell it unless I press my nose to wrist. I only have a dabber but I don’t think spraying would make much difference. What I can smell is a faint whiff of powdered lemon honey. Wish I could smell it better but it is completely nonoffensive IMHO. ????????????
Not surprising since Satori is pretty weak, too. Did you get samples of the others in the line? I’m curious..
No just Wasanbon. It’s really faint. I may check their Iris scent (can’t remember the name). I put in a sample order recently and ordered it on a whim.
Please tell me what you think if try the others in this range. I’m very curious.
I’m wearing the last of a decant of Bollywood or Bust. I’m pretty sure that I have another decant.
What a great name! Have to go look that one up????
It’s a Smell Bent fragrance, and is basically a rose and sandalwood scent. Decent sillage and lasting power and the decant/travel sizes are inexpensive.
This is making me feel like I don’t need to rush out and buy it. Yay/nay?
Too busy (and frazzled) to check in very often lately, but I still love me some NST (and NSTers)!!
SOTD is Cafe Rose from the emergency stash at work.
Hope everyone is well on this MlAYS (Monday’s less attractive younger sister) day.
You smell great in Cafe Rose!
Mmm, I haven’t worn that one in an age. I’ll have to remember it when temps drop a bit.
The rose in that one is especially true, I find. You smell heavenly.
Hurray for emergency perfume stashes!
Happy Tuesday!
1) SOTD: Karma body cream + Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere. These two meld rather nicely!
2) A beautiful dawn this morning- some low lying fog rising from Willamette and Columbia river, clear skies and the light is a lovely mellow gold.
You smell great. I impulsively bought a gift set of Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere unsniffed off of semi-evil QVC and have enjoyed it.
HA! That is where I bought it too so I would not feel bad about paying for a bottle! I think it’s a lovely transition into fall scent.
Qvc definitely qualifies as Neutral Evil!
My workplace flooded out so we’re closing early so I think I’ll go to the mall and go sniffing. SOTD is J Crew/Arquiste No.57. Have we done a community project of wearing a number perfume yet?
That project would call for lots of chanel.
🙂
I’m on board 😉
Speaking of NST suggestions, I keep forgetting to bring this one up:
Robin, have we ever done a swapmeet that’s decant-only? This last swapmeet gave me an idea that seems like it might be fun, where all we post to swap are lists of our bottles that we’ll decant in return for other bottle decants.
It could be kind of like having our own internal sampling service 😉
Great idea!
We haven’t — we could try that, why not!
I’d love to participate, especially knowing that the fragrance is freshly decanted from the bottle and wasn’t sitting there and evaporating.
Nope, adding to list!
Hope your evening commute will be reasonably easy! Flooding is the pits to deal with.
I’m wearing Niral for the first time today and am enjoying it. I wanted something easy to wear because I have a lot to accomplish at work today. I’m hoping this perfume can help me buckle down and focus on certain tasks. A calm perfume is also called for because my co-workers in my department have been a mix of high maintenance and cranky lately and some of them are having issues communicating with each other. Luckily none of it is directed at me, but I end up hearing about it or being in the middle of awkward discussions or complaints.
Yesterday I smelled distractingly great in Civet. I must have sniffed my wrist 30 times throughout the day.
Work place drama is a pain. At least you smell great today!
You smell lovely. And I think calm too!
More Sylvaine Delacourte sampling today with Smeraldo and Lilylang…will weigh in later. I am no marketing person but I am uncertain about these names. ????
Yesterday I wore Dovana and Florentina and the latter was quite good and the winner for me.
I have to pull out these samples, which I know I have somewhere . . .
I felt similarly about the vanilla names. Valkyrie? hmm
Florentina was my favorite too.
Lilylang was today’s winner.
Both of today’s seem quieter than yesterday’s overall too. I think I sprayed equally both days.
I am not a light sprayer…not unlike the lovely Hajusuuri. ????
Had a great weekend with my friends! I feel like I should seriously starve myself this week to make up for all the margaritas and New Mexican food. They loved New Mexico and we had a wonderful time. I wore Tocca Colette all weekend because it’s quiet and lovely and a no-brainer for me. I really do enjoy it so much.
Today I am back at work and in Angel Muse which is really hitting the spot. I meant to wear it a few times last week but didn’t. It’s so good!
You smell fantastic!
And who can pass up Mexican food & margs? That’s my fav, in fact I had some this weekend ????
Roja Dove Lilac extrait, for what is hopefully the last day of this high humidity.
That sounds like a beautiful perfume. Is it a natural smelling lilac?
Yes, it does smell true to the flower.
Cazaubon I missed this earlier but I am so so sorry about your pup.
Thank you Amy, I miss him so much.
Rainy and thundery in beantown today. I guess we are getting the trailing rain from Florence. I was wondering if any NSTers are in regions down south that were so badly flooded? If you are, my thoughts and prayers go out to you. I saw some photos online and it looked bad.
I’m still technically separated from my perfumes, they are in my ex-husband’s basement, a temporary storage place till I find a more permanent home for me and them. I’m staying temporarily with a close friend and luckily I pre-infested her home with perfumes in the way of gifts to her over the years. So I have had access to JM Red Roses, Parfum Sacre, Galop and YR Neroli. As well as a travel spray of “The Musc”, a mini of Coromandel, a tiny drop of LDDM (this was my travel kit in Colorado) and of all things, a big bottle of Ananas Fizz that I have been taking baths in during the hot weather.
I’ve been a wandering nomad for about two years now, but finally want to settle down and exploring different areas to do that. It most likely will be in Vermont.
SOTD is a tiny wrist dab of Coromandel – seems to go well with this muggy wet weather.
Love Vermont!
We had a broadcast for possible localized flooding. It’s absolutely pouring rain.
And you smell great today!
Yup same here. I’m just staying home today, catching up on reading and emails. Kind of nice weather for doing that.
Your perfumes being stored by your ex-H makes me nervous. But maybe your ex-H is much kinder than mine was. Anything I left behind, intentionally or inadvertently, is long gone. Until you have a permanent place, enjoy the bottles you have!
Yes he is very kind. And he has a whole perfume wardrobe of his own now thanks to his loving ex.
Orchid Soleil for this warm summer day! Enjoying this last blast of summer.????
I keep expecting the weather to turn and keep waking up to beautiful weather. Enjoy it while you can!
Finished my bottle of Ivoire! And judging by my perfume shelf, only 99 other bottles to go! ~sigh~
Never ending… Good luck with the rest of the 99 bottles left and even more, since I am sure you will have more additions to your collection! ????
Wearing MFK Grand Soir. It’s a hot day but this smells pretty great.
I bet that one really blooms in the heat!
Scent: Azemour les Orangers from a sample. I like it – and seems to be hard to find.
Weather: cloudy, nearly 80
Tea: Republic of Tea Blackberry Sage
Book: Warlight
You smell Great!
My dad’s old adage of “rain before 7, done by 11” is not holding true today. Made for a good morning of sleeping though, which is exactly what I did since I had to work a night shift last night.????
SotD is the last of my Tea for Two sample. I haven’t worn this one since last fall and I have forgotten how good it is. I could definitely see having a decant of this in my collection. Today the bergamot is really coming through, which I didn’t notice the last time I wore it.
We had lightning and hail in the middle of the night! My poor cat was beside herself.
It’s the 19th Sept. here and the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in NZ (1893 first country to give women the vote) so I am trying to think of a good match for a suffragette or a woman in political power. I have decided on Kerbside Violet partly because of the colour associations with the suffrage movement and partly because of violet scent associations with women ( as something quite common) and the idea of a popular movement gaining strength on the streets and protest etc.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Sheppard
Suffragette Kate Sheppard is the face on our $10 note
I enjoyed that mini history lesson, Kanuka, a cheer for NZ.
As did I. Thank you!
Nice choice to honour the day. I will wear some Goodbye Picadilly for you tomorrow. While set a little later than NZ’s more sensible date, 4160’s Sarah describes it as “A scent for Suffragettes, first made for London Transport Museum with materials used in 1914: violet, iris, lavender, leather, vanilla and patchouli.”
(we have Mary Somerville on the RBS £10 note in Scotland. Huzzah! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Somerville )
Far out, isn’t that great (Mary Somerville). I love hearing about these women. I have to give a talk this evening on women mountaineers and suffrage. Cycling clubs were another hive of suffrage activity.
Oh! that sounds like a talk I’d love to hear.
So, here’s another for you, then: Nan Shepherd on the RBS £5 note. Climber, hill walker, and writer.
Now there’s someone I do know (not personally)
Wearing Dryad today as I feel like I have been much of the summer.
Wow what’s Dryad like?
Not my pot of tea but beautiful nevertheless
SOTD Eaun Sauvage
🙂
In a textbook fruity chypre today: Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 9. It kept me grounded.
Nothing like a good fruity chypre 🙂
Thank you for approving, Robin 🙂 It’s not original by any means but it’s a good perfume. Of the 5 essences available I like only this one and No 1 which is like a longer lasting Eau Dynamisante.
Wearing LPRN Black Perfecto after doing some internet window shopping looking at Guerlain makeup and being reminded of my bottle. I’m not going to pretend that either LPRN or Guerlain makeup has anything to do with International Peace or World Gratitude, but they are Beautiful Things That Make Me Happy.
Smelling quite perfecto over there. My favorite from the lineup of LPRN.✌????
Eau de Citron Noir this morning. Sour lime! It’s interesting and I think I like it. Good thing, too, because I bought a bottle at Heathrow duty-free.
Nice!
Salvador Dali Edp.Supertrashy masterpiece from the,what,80’s?The far drydown is my favorite,it almost has a cola-caramel note.Love the bottle as well, with nose and lips.
Non-Vegan.
Lol.
Can we just have new fabulous perfumes with real notes, real longevity, awesome sillage at a reasonable price again PLEASE!!!!
Otherwise….I’m calm.
X
Such a long time since I smelled that one, you smell awsome!
Merci!????
No, unfortunately we cannot! Just keep dreaming about the old time and enjoy the real, good perfumes we still have in our collections!. Do we need to think twice before “thunking” our next perfume? It might fall in the real one category…
Haha!Valid points M…plus thank goodness for backup bottles of “some” of the good old ones…✌????❤️
Amen to all that you said…but I will say enjoy them and thunk away because you never know what tomorrow will bring!
We’ve woken up to a glorious spring morning, still quite cold, but the sun is shining in a cloudless blue sky. It’s definitely time for something floral, and I’m thinking of Le Temps d’Une Fête. It’s a favourite.
How nice, all around!
Portrait of a Lady, and then the tiny spritz left in a swapped sample of Masque Milaro Russian Tea. Which has caused cravings for 1. a good sixed decant and 2. a pot of Lapsang.
(We’re in for a pretty windy day tomorrow; Edinburgh’s sitting inside the amber warning area of Storm Ali.
Very late to the party. Had a very busy day! Deadlines…woosh woosh 😉
SotD Sycomore edt by Chanel.
For the evening: Thebes grade 1, by Sultan pasha attars.
Tauer Les Annees 25 from the little mini bottle which is super cute. If you aren’t fond of Tauerade I wouldn’t bother with this one…. at drydown it’s unquestionably a Tauer perfume.
Some fairly impressive thunderstorms rolled thru here earlier this afternoon. ????⚡ I saw news footage of the subway flooding in both NYC and Boston… those poor commuters! That’s going to make for a heinous mess.
SOTD = Silences, from the sample stash. I am grateful that a generous NSTer sent me a sample of it, so I could see what people here were talking about. It is a good scent for “Keep Calm and Waft On!”
You smell great! I love Silences! Bought a vintage bottle from fragrancenet couple years ago for $11.
Thanks! You got a fantastic bargain on your bottle.
Love that one too. I also good a fairly good deal, but not as good as yours!
got a good deal!
SOTD- Chanel No5 L’eau- the more I wear it the more I like it. It is still very warm/hot in Michigan, so I continue wearing summer scents. Bought a mini of Bottega Veneta Eau Legere for fall- I always liked it, but not enough to purchase a FB. I guess things have changed since I learned it was discontinued, plus I felt the need to treat myself, so there you go 🙂
I’m in Handsome Man Wearing Seersucker Suit Sipping Iced Tea perfume because tiffanie wore Assam of India yesterday and Chanel Allure Pour Homme Edition Blanche layers very well with it! Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day?
In a when it rains it pours scenario, I got a text alert from my bank asking if I attempted to use my debit card at a gas station? I went oh no not again! So I quickly texted back no and immediately got a phone call. I realized that I must have dropped my card where I had lunch (my badge holder also has slots for a few cards and it got caught around the handle of my bag). Anyway, whoever picked it up got greedy and bought a pizza, something from a vape shop and then finally the gas station. So my bank did the right thing and detected an unusual pattern (I.e. I’ve never spent more than $20 on the card). I was able to close the card, dispute the charges immediately and get a replacement card. At least for this one I knew where my account/card was picked up. I hope whoever got the card smarted when the transaction got declined, get food poisoning from the pizza and rot in financial hell.
So sorry Hajusuuri. That really stinks. Some people need a serious dose of integrity.
Honesty went out the door with acting appropriately.
“Oh no not again!” for sure! That totally sucks. A pox on the sticky fingered person who did that!
I was going to add a few more curses but your pox rounded it out.
Does your debit card NOT need a PIN ?✌????
It actually is a combo debit/credit and if you choose credit, no PIN is required. So at least the person was not able to get ???? as that would require a PIN.
Good, I don’t have an combo cards. ????????
Yay! you were awesomely fragrant in Assam and Allure today. I tried the edition blanche once and really like it. I can imagine those work well together.
Sorry about your card, ugh! And yesyesyes!!! to white after Labor Day. I’m wearing white pants and a blue and white tunic to work tomorrow. 😀
Wow, twice! Glad it got caught so quickly.
