Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Sicily ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 10 September 2018 9 Comments

Dolce & Gabbana have launched Velvet Sicily, a new fragrance.

The perfume of passion. The scent of a woman. The roots of Dolce & Gabbana, expressed in a new edition. The essence of Sicily. A citrusy floral fragrance that evokes the scent of freshly laundered linen drying in the sun, Sicilian bergamot, conjures the island’s sun-drenched citrus groves and a black rose accord brings out the radiance of a rare Grasse jasmine absolute. The powdery scent of heliotrope, blended with a creamy sandalwood essence, evokes Sicily’s delectable almond pastries. While the musky dry down hints at darker passions.

Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Sicily is available at Saks Fifth Avenue, in 50 ($310) or 150 ($495) ml Eau de Parfum.

The notes have me hopeful this will bear some resemblance to D&G’s original Sicily.

I hope not, because then I would want to buy it. The original was so good!

I think so too. Nothing would make me pay that much for it, though.

The price is ridiculous, given how much the original Sicily used to sell for.

I know! I think I might have paid 75 dollars for the 100ml? Tried to repurchase and it was gone. Still mad at them.

I don’t quite get how it’s the smell of freshly laundered linens AND sun-drenched citrus AND rose/jasmine AND almond pastries AND darker passions…
