Happy Hump Day! It's also Carousel Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I was in the mood for flowers, so I'm in Vilhelm Parfumerie Don't Tell Jasmine, mostly because it's the first one I noticed when I went looking for flowers.
Reminder: on 7/27 we'll celebrate the Buck Moon...pick your poison for the full moon tonight.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Gorgeous image Robin!
Vanilla bean, patchouli and rose essential oil blend slathered all over with two spritzes of Greylocke. I am using and enjoying my essential oils as well.
That oil sounds really good! And Greylocke!????
Greylocke is a staple for sure. I would consider replacing it once it is gone but there are too many other lovelies to wear so it would be a very very long time before I do that!!! Will still keep wearing it though because this summer is all about wearing what I like/love lavishly because you never know what tomorrow will bring and I don’t want to save anything anymore.
Do you have a long “to buy list”? Mine is really huge and probably I will lose my interest in many of them after so many year.
Funny story!!! For as long as I can remember I kept a “to buy list” starting when I was a child. As an adult I kept the list in my yearly date book and every year it basically changed(never let it go beyond 10 perfumes) This year I wrote it in pencil and a few months ago I erased it. My very lofty goal is to focus on what I have and not what I want…let’s see how long I can last-LOL!!!!!
My to-buy list isn’t very long, but a couple of things have been on it for years and I . . . seem to be doing just fine without them. I’m starting to think that snapping up whatever I’m in love with at the moment is a better strategy than The List.
I would agree. Once you get your collection down to a size that you are comfortable with then buy what you really love and just wear it!! Like Bombay Bling????
I need to go thru my list. Probably at this point I can reduce it like yours to a minimum. I hope Greylocke can eventually make it to you!
There is something very liberating about reducing the longing….if that makes any sense.
You are so right not holding back and hoarding, no guarantees in life!
Isn’t that pretty? I probably should have saved it for Friday since I don’t know that I can beat it.
You can always show it again I for one would not mind seeing it twice!!!
Me neither, but you could also look for one of those long-lens “full moon just rising over the wheat field” shots that make the moon look enormous. I love those.
Found one- Not sure if it will work but you can always scroll down to August
Yup..you have to scroll down to August and then click on the image but it absolutely captures your description SheriG!!!
Also gorgeous! But don’t see anything there conferring permission to use the images. One of the great things about flickr is that every photo has an associated copyright statement.
This is something that I would imagine Deva capturing with her camera (I looked at her Instagram last night and her photos were fabulous)
That one is positively surreal!
I thought it was pretty amazing…that blue!!!!
Beautiful picture Robin!
In Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia. I have tried it so many times and I definitely do not like it. The remaining 4ml from the mini have been put aside and will eventually end up in another home where it can be more appreciate it. For me it is another perfume gone.
Having the End of the Fiscal Year lunch today at work. At least for good 2 hours we can relax some, before going back to the madness we are living here lately.
Yup I do the same…if I give it away or someone takes it I consider it “gone”.
Hope you enjoy your work luncheon
Thank you! Looking forward mostly to the desserts. I am craving sweets today! ????????
Eat something for me
I will! ????????
I didn’t care much for English Pear and Freesia either. It’s just bland and aquatic.
I find it boring and in some way annoying.
I liked it in the soap format
Early in the spring I very briefly fell in love with freesia and acquired decants of both English Pear and Freesia and Diptyque’s Ofresia. Now (mere months later) I find them both very sweet and dull. But for a week or two they smelled perfect. It’s all such a mystery . . .
It is indeed a mystery! I have fallen in love with perfumes just to find out weeks or months later, that they are a complete failure for me. That is good when you only have samples, but when you get full bottles of those…
I actively avoid fressia.
Me too. It ends up being sickly sweet on me.
Well, I think you smell nice! I guess I’m in the minority of liking this one, lol-it’s my go-to work meeting scent since it’s more of a background scent and thoroughly inoffensive IMO, though I’ve had it noticed by coworkers (positively) so maybe not so background as I think.
It is definitely an office friendly scent. It does not have much projection and has a good longevity. I still can smell it on my skin. Overall, I think is a nice scent, just not for me.
Let me know if you would like to take it from me. ????
Awww, that’s so sweet of you to offer, but I think my 30ml bottle is all I’ll ever need of it. It’s also one I likely wouldn’t feel the need to replace if I ever finish it.
I like English Pear & Freesia but prefer it in spring. A co-worker at my previous place used to wear it a lot, and I loved it on her but didn’t wear too often myself. Now we do not work together any longer but I still wear it just now and then.
I tried it many times in spring and it did not work for me either. However, I would like to smell it on somebody else.
Glad to hear that you had a nice lunch today! How were the desserts?
Thank you Jalapeno!
I indulged in some Italian pastries, especially cannolis and semifreddos. Well, and also a little bit of gelato. I have to restrict myself from sweets for a while now!
Morning, early birds! I’ve been getting up earlier and earlier this summer. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s weird, since I have for as long as I can remember been on something like a midnight to eight sleep shift. Now I’m getting sleepy earlier (around 10 pm), and waking up just before 6.
It’s still early enough that it isn’t scorching, only very warm. It is expected to be a ridiculous 113F today. I’ve spritzed on some Nu Green, in the hopes that – someday soon – it will be cooler.
113!!! Stay cool, that’s just brutal.
I was starting to get bored by the summer weather pattern here — looking out my window this minute reveals wafting fog and about 300′ of visibility — but after reading this I’m happy to hold onto it.
Ah, fog. I vaguely remember the phenomenon.
It was 112 – a new record – at my house yesterday. I said a little prayer for my AC unit.
New records everywhere, it seems. I’m feeling a deep sense of unease about how high temperatures are getting worldwide.
I agree. Just yesterday I was thinking that winters will probably never be what they were in my childhood ever again. And I’m not that old, either.
Me too. Very worrisome.
Stay cool and well hydrated! I don’t know how people survive in that heat
We spend a lot of time wandering the frozen food section in the grocery store.
Lots of AC and backyard pools.
Anticipated temps of 113? That is a very uncivilized temperature! Stay cool and well-hydrated!
Oof. That’s beyond hot. Movies and malls… Stay cool!
113? Bleah. Time to put off errands until the sun goes down, if at all possible.
I’m in Moscow Mule by Juliette Has a Gun today. It’s supposed to smell like the components of the drink (vodka, ginger beer and lime), but I don’t think that’s what I’m smelling. My scent vocabulary is sadly lacking, so I can’t describe what I *am* smelling, but I don’t think it’s lime. . . I like it though, and I guess that’s really what matters
I have not heard much about that one and have never had the drink — I should try one or the other!
I’m in Cuir Pleine Fleur today, and not feeling entirely up to par. Perhaps more coffee will turn things around. Coffeeeeee … is there anything it can’t do?
You smell wonderful. I hope you feel better soon!
passes you a cup of my Inka that I am drinking…oh! Its sans caffeine hope you find some coffee soon
Thanks, you guys! More coffee and CPF definitely helped.
I’m in Equipage which always makes me feel so dang SUAVE
“Dang suave.” I really like the way those two words sound together!
I’m in Dragonfly. It’s a scrubber. I’m going to have to raid my work samples.
Put on Acqua di Parma instead. Much better.
What was it about Dragonfly that made it a scrubber? I haven’t tried it yet, so just curious.
It was definitely aquatic, and for some reason I just couldn’t take it.
In the mood for something vintage-y, so I’m wearing Divine. Keep thinking it’s Thursday — alas.
Oh, you smell gorgeous, I think I will wear it tomorrow!
Thursday her and I keep wishing it was Friday.
Coffee and whatever my hand lands on, maybe Havana Vanille.
Dinner out with a friend later this evening.
I’m wearing Ubar and loving it. We had some rain last night and this morning, so my garden isn’t feeling quite as sorry for itself.
Tea is cold jasmine tea which I’ve managed to oversteep, still it’s refreshing.
You smell wonderful! I bar is one of my all-time favorites.
What an interesting autocorrect… I meant Ubar.
I thought you did! Maybe Amouage could launch a fragrance called Ibar, and then have Youbar etc. for flankers.
I’m working through an endless pile of samples this week, so I’m afraid I’m not particularly moon-themed. Yesterday I wore Vanilla Insensee and it REALLY overwhelmed in the heat. Today I’m in Sud Magnolia. It’s nice, but I’m devoted to FM’s Eau de Magnolia . . .
I need to think of something for Friday myself…
90F outside, freezing inside office space. In Valentino Donna today. Luca Turin’s 3 star rating of it in the new guide is a lesson in the art of the backhanded compliment. All I know is Donna is beautifully composed, top to bottom, and lingers. Me likey.
I like it too. And I like the bottle.
I like it but have not yet triggered a buy.
I am sampling Auphorie La Lanterne Rouge. It is lovely, but too sweet for me. Woody with citrus and saffron a a lovely osmanthus running throughout.
Oh, that does sound lovely and I love osmanthus. Is it very fruity?
I’m in an unknown today, sent to me by someone (sadly don’t remember) some time ago (sadly don’t remember). I don’t think the sample came labeled (or perhaps I lost it), but vial is distinctive: the black cap has an unusual applicator. It is like a flexible wand, with a tiny loop on the end with a bar through the center — looks sort of like a bubble wand. (For all I know, I’m wearing liquid soap!!) It is a light scent with non-rooty iris, I think.
If any of my benefactors recognizes this, and knows what the juice inside might be, please do let me know. Thanks in advance, and Happy Humpday to all.
I know Harvey Nichols uses those wee bottles to make up samples if you can persuade them to make up a sample of things that lack manufacturer ones…
what colour is the juice?
Oh, thanks for the hint RE Harvey Nichols! The juice is a pale yellow, so not distinctive, unfortunately.
I was going to take a wild guess at Iris de Nuit if it was a pale purple juice…
Y’all I got to work at 6:45 again today and got about 5 hours of sleep last night (thanks, insomnia). Good vibes requested! Seriously struggling.
I’m in the last of my D600 sample and loving it. It’s one sample I’m sad to see go.
Good vibes on the way! Hope you get a good nights sleep tonight! ????
I’m about to take a melatonin and konk out (hopefully)!
Hang on in there! You smell good!
Twisted Lily has currently 50 ml of D600 on sale for $90 (usually $120) – just FYI (not affiliated, just an enabler)
Sending you positive energy until you get back home, then I’m sending you relaxation vibes until bedtime, and then my very special “down for the count of 8 solid hours” mojo is coming your way.
Thank you SO much. I can feel you mojo working!
The thought of being anywhere that early turns my stomach. But I’m with you on the 5 hours! That seems to be my norm these days. Hoping you get more sleep tonight. Until then, mainline the coffee!
Yikes! Are you going to work that early for the rest of the week?
Just tomorrow, then regular time Friday. Our biggest customer is in town and I have to pick up breakfast by 6:30 and have it set up by 7:15. Then lunch, then afternoon snacks….then clean up lol. So I’m not getting out until almost 5. But the good news is that I have enough hours in that I’ll only have to work half a day Friday.
Happy Wednesday to all of my scented friends! It’s been a while since I have been able to post. Hope everyone is well and staying cool this summer. Temps have been reaching 100 degress and above here in Houston. Because of the heat, I have been trying to keep it light and simple. My SOTD is Sensuous Nude by Estee Lauder. Really nice scent.
PSA: If you go to the Estee Lauder Website, this scent has been marked down 50%. I purchased a few days ago and received it yesterday. I am not affliated with the company in any way…just wanted to share. It for a limited time, so if you are interested…..
I’ve been wanting to try Sensuous Nude. Thanks for the info!
I’m testing out Kilian Noir Aphrodisiaque today, thanks to a sweet NSTer. Will report back later with my thoughts.
Happy Carousel Day! Very whimsical !!
Today I am wearing Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and drinking Shalimar tea.
Suddenly thought of what a good thing it is that Hermes does not do scented teas…I’d spend all I have! An iced Jardin Sur Le Nil tea would be lovely.
SOTD yesterday and this morning is Sedona Sweet Grass from Providence Perfume Company. This is a brand new scent in the line–so new, in fact, that it is not listed on the website, except that it is now one of the samples in the Light Collection. I visited PPC on 07/14 and had a very nice conversation with Charna.
She asked me about my scent preferences, and I told her that I don’t care for tobacco notes, that I am not a fan of BWFs, overly sweet scents or gourmands, and that too much jasmine tends to give me a headache. She suggested I probably wouldn’t care for Tabac Citron or Hindu Honeysuckle, although she did suggest I at least sniff Provanilla on a scent strip, which I did, although it was not “me”. She did mention that she probably will not be able to make Provanilla any more due to the worldwide shortage of vanilla, which has driven up the prices and made it hard to get sufficient quantities of perfumery-grade vanilla, so if you have been considering buying this one, you might not want to delay much longer.
It took me quite a while to decide on a scent, as I think the description and notes for Sedona Sweet Grass threw me off a little. I don’t remember the exact wording, but it mentioned smoke and/or fire, so I was expecting a heavier, darker scent than what I actually get from SSG. Now, I actually love dark, rich scents, but seldom wear them because I live in such a hot, humid climate which tends to amp up dark notes to asphyxiation level. SSG, however, really is a light smoky scent.
I am afraid I am not very good at describing perfumes, but what I get from SSG is the feeling that I have walked into a room where someone has just finished burning some fragrant grasses or herbs (not wood, resin, or charcoal), but where nothing is actually burning right now. It is definitely not a typical resinous incense scent. I liked several others very much, but finally decided on SSG for a FB purchase because it really doesn’t smell like anything else in my considerable collection, although I also got a 5 ml size of Moss Gown. Charna threw in sample vials of Love-in-a-Mist, Heart of Darkness, and Branch & Vine, which I have been enjoying testing out.
I am curious about Heart of Darkness for the name alone. Have you sampled that one yet? The vanilla shortage is the reason why I make my own Vanilla bean oil to satisfy my cravings. The oils from Eden Botanicals were becoming too expensive.
Only one tiny dab. I didn’t even realize I had it until I was packing up for the return flight. Charna had wrapped my bottles in bubble wrap for protection, but I decided to unwrap them to fit them into my 1 quart plastic bag in my carry-on. The sample of HoD was wrapped up with the Moss Gown. I was afraid the perfume bottles would get broken in a checked bag, no matter how well they were padded. Apparently my fears were well-placed, as a couple of items in one bag did get broken, although they were inexpensive items easily replaced, so no great loss.
It is one of my all time favorite reads (Joseph Conrad) so I peaked at the sight and looked at the notes…sounds deep and heavy….I look forward to hearing what you have to say when and if you give it more skin time.
And that was smart of you to carry on the plane…
site…NOT sight ……
There was kind of an odd little coincidence regarding HoD. On the last full day of our trip, we visited Mystic Seaport, where it turns out one of the historic ships on exhibit is named Joseph Conrad.
50 Roses- wow! that is interesting
I have been to Mystic Seaport (a very long time ago)…great place.
These sound really amazing! This is another perfume house I haven’t explored and many appeal to me. Enjoy your new FB addition!
I love Charna’s pretty shop. We’re house twins today as I am wearing Love In A Mist. She is passionate about her craft and a delight to talk with about perfume.
Thank you for the description, that sounds great.
We used to spend 1 night in Mystic on our way up or down the coast…such a cute little town. And one of the nicest graveyards anywhere.
Rodin 3 EDT is my SOTD. I was browsing b-glowing’s sale items yesterday and saw this at $85 and remembered I have a 10ml decant that I only dabbed on when I first got it months ago. I went for the larger decant because I love the original Rodin perfume. This one isn’t love, and I’ll have to wear it more before I decide if it goes up for swap. It’s a fresh perfumey perfume, light and pleasant and office friendly. It isn’t super exciting though. In my opinion the two perfumes they’ve put out after the original don’t even come close to the first (Bis and 3).
Oh, in new perfume news, I saw Luckyscent is carrying a new line, Essential Parfums. They offer 10ml sizes for $20! Also available in 100ml for $70, and the sample set of all 5 perfumes is only $15. I’m really considering it!
They sound lovely…all five of them…and that price is extraordinary!
I’ll definitely look those up- thanks for mentioning them.
Today’s SOTD is SJP’s Covet layered over Tom Ford’s Black Orchid body oil. Lots of patchouli and cocoa.
mmmmm…..I am patchouli and vanilla so I guess we are scent cousins
Lovely photo! I’m commando at the moment, drinking coffee to which I somehow forgot to add cream…????
Lazy day yesterday at the lake. Found a little shaded enclave right at waters edge, but the path to the parking area ran right past it which was a pain as some people have no boundaries. Stepped all over my stuff and let their dogs rush T-Rex, who was minding her own business, busy chasing waves, and didn’t like the interruption. Going to head out to Fallen Leaf Lake today, which is smaller and less trafficked. Not sure what perfume today, but planning on giving VT a rest.
Another great night’s sleep. I’m really appreciating this because it’s been a long, long time since I slept this well. I find myself getting ready to hit the hay at sundown and get up at first light- completely opposite to my sleep pattern prior to living full time in the van. Reno will be too hot in August, so I will have to find housing. Hoping September and October will be cool enough to get back in the van full time. Looking forward to some ghost town exploration as well!
I enjoyed your Instagram last night ….beautiful photos.
Thanks! It’s impossible to take bad photos here. Everywhere you look, it’s like a postcard. ????????
My old friend Corsica Furiosa was SOTD. Went swimming and now it’s all gone. May work on VT again his afternoon.
Enjoy the quieter lake! Although, it makes me cringe. The road we took to Fallen Leaf kind of freaked me out it was so narrow. My poor husband had to drive very patiently. I kept thinking we’d go off the road and into the lake.
Let me know how you find Reno. We are actively considering a move there.
But you’re probably at the campground, not down that road. Living and smelling the pines through you… ????????
LizzieB, funny you should mention that road…! I drove it the other day and holy Krakatoa Batman! Two way traffic on a one lane road with a 90* drop into the lake!! I white knuckled it and three people said *unkind* things as I passed them! ???? Yes, today I was parked in the public lot by the campground. I’ll let you know about Reno. I’m getting mixed messages from a lot of people from “horrendous drug and homeless issues” to “great spot to access a ton of outdoor stuff without having to pay California taxes/prices!” We shall see! ✌????
Glad to know I wasn’t crazy to be terrified.
Yeah, the attraction for Reno is being close to gorgeous. The Sierras are my calm. But, I think we need to spend time there more than we have,
I’m finally getting around to trying Hermes Galop – wow this is beautiful. I often dislike leather in perfume but this is a soft leather that blends so nicely with the other notes. If only it came in smaller bottles or could found at the discounters! I’ll just have to enjoy my decant as long as it lasts.
You can get a refill bottle and split it. It is a screw top bottle so it is extremely easy to split.
SOTD is Bruno Fazzolari’s Mare Nostrum.
Love the photo Robin!
I was trying to look this up since I thought I missed out on a BF, but I think you mean Lorenzo Villoresi?
It makes me want to be standing in that field!
So, new payroll implementation did not go well, and it has been a couple of nights of burning the midnight oil ( literally, unfortunately).
Our payroll provider need to be beaten with a stick, preferably, one with nails in .
It is done now however, and I am wearing 4160 Tuesdays’ Invisible Ben. I start vacation Friday at 430 pm, and I am very much looking forward to it
You’re almost there! Upcoming vacation is almost as good as an actual vacation!
You poor thing. I hope you get there in the end
Yay for vacation! Sorry to hear things haven’t gone well.
Payroll! Ugh! I’m sorry for your transitional pain! Enjoy your Vacay!
Too bad the initial roll out was a fail.
This morning I wore Eau des Merveilles Bleue.
Scent of the afternoon/evening is Moon Bloom.
You smell wonderful! Moon Bloom feels a bit like Carnal Flower’s little sister.
Thank you. ‘CF’s little sister’, yes that is a good description! ????
I’m in OJ Champaca which is a summer comfort scent for me, though I haven’t craved it much lately, but it’s a nice calming scent for another rainy day.
In other news, tested a couple of samples last night: NV Niral and B Fazzolari Fontevraud. Niral didn’t wow me and seemed like they took Mohur and added a dash of violet for the lipstick effect and called it a day. It kind of bored me and there were shadows of woody ambers lurking in the base which grate on me.
The BF was interesting and full of contrasts. Kind of a tropical fruit+goth thing going on. Definitely need to spend more time with it but I liked it!
Try wearing Niral a couple more times – it might grow on you (not that perfume at this price should be something you have to “work on” but just for the love of science ).
I’m not moving it along just yet, so will probably give it another go at some point. But, yeah, in general, I don’t try too hard.
I’m sure it will have or already has plenty of fans!
Oh, I need to try that BF! I think he may be my soul mate…????
A little later than usual with posting.
Drinking a cup of Inka
Chanel Chance Fraiche
Mr L went to work later today so I am able to put on some makeup this morning in peace. Wearing some purple eyeliner and bronzer. I guess I am having a Chanel day..fragrance and beauty..
Have a great day everyone!
I’m working from home today so I decided to re-test a couple of Chanel perfume samples I had for a while – thank you for the inspiration.
which ones are you trying out?
Actually, I got distracted and went for a parallel testing of a couple of Narciso Rodriguez perfumes (I have no idea how “civilians” make them apart – other than by the color and shape of the bottle but even then it’s all so mixed up!). But tonight I’ll do a couple of Exclusives, for which I never went beyond samples. It’s kind of pointless at this time since those that I have are discontinued EdTs, so even if I like them, I won’t be able to get them and will need to test the EdP. But at least if I still don’t like them, I’ll pass them onto somebody who’ll finish them before they go off.
Interesting, I feel the same way about NR
True about the exclusifs from Chanel..but still worth trying them out even though you can’t buy them
Wednesday and I am smelling kind of amazing in Lira and Note Vanillee.
Busy week so far at work!Looking forward to the Blood Buck Moon on Friday.Apparently we will see it vividly in the Southern Hemisphere.Being a Cancerian,my moods truly shift with the moon.
SOTD’s so far this week was Axe Dark Vanilla and Oud,Queen Latifah(yum, drained,YAY!),and today lashings of Oscar de la Renta Live in Love(an effort to conjure an early Spring)
Last night I watched the movie Call me by your name again, for the tenth time probably.Love the scenery and the subtle way in which the subject matter was portrayed.
Happy Week all!
You are still going strong with the finish it up! Mr. CM8 is also a Cancerian…did not know this about the mood shifts Explains a lot-LOL!
Haha!Sure am still participating in USE IT UP! sporadically.
Currently in B*tch-Mode-Overdrive,as usual during and after full moons…My poor colleagues.Lol.Luckily everyone knows to take me with a pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt…????????♂️✌????????
You are so funny Bad moods always pass!
Still dealing with icky winter weather there, or did your weather moderate?
I loved call me by your name. I cried at the end of that film. Also, will never look at a peach the same way again
Robin, you smell great! I finished my sample of Don’t Tell Jasmine earlier this week.
Wearing Diorissimo today–so close to the end of the bottle, but it is hanging on for a really long time.
Thank you! This is a great scent, wish it was a bit cheaper and I’d buy the travel size.
(And of course you smell even better than I do.)
Robin, that photo has brought up such strong memories for me. It’s the Mackenzie Basin between Mt Dobson and Lake Tekapo and not far from where I was born. My dad was the country doctor and that area was part of his practice and we travlled through it all the time, on gravel roads with not another person in sight. The lupins are incredible but the real scent is clover, it hangs on the air. In winter we skiied on those hills. Gosh. I set one of my novels in that location with that scene in mind. Will join you in flowers today: lakeland flora again.
Such a lovely, idyllic memory!
Oh how wonderful, so glad you posted!
So why is it so sparsely populated when it is so gorgeous?? Is it a protected area?
It was very poor farm land and miles from anywhere, so originally it was carved up into very large (size-wise) sheep farms as it was ideal for merino sheep. Now, environmentalists are fighting to protect the area from intense dairy farming and irrigation. That would turn this very beautiful, arid landscape into green paddocks and destroy the waterways of unique braided rivers. These days it’s on the main tourist route to Mt Cook and Queenstown…so lots of people. I was born about 15 miles from this photo in a place called Fairlie. The Mackenzie ( named after a sheep rustler ) is so beautiful.
Gotcha. You’d think it would be all housing developments & golf courses because it’s just so scenic. Hope it will stay beautiful.
Hi everyone, I’m just checking in. Still in the hospital after my hip surgery last week. I was supposed to be transferred before now but there have been some bureaucratic delays. Fortunately I have good care here. No perfume though and I miss it. Robin, I too love that moon picture. Carousel Day sounds fun, too.
How are you feeling? Not too sore, I hope.
Glad you are getting good care. Are you at a rehab facility?
Hope the recovery is smooth as possible, and that everything is nicely stable and staying in place this time!
Glad you are taken care of.Are you going to a step-down or rehab facility,if I may ask?Replacement-surgery patients are some of the strongest people I have met in my career.I don’t know if I would have the courage or resilience for that myself!Hope all goes well.Keep us posted!MUCH love!!❤️❤️
Hope you are recovering quickly and pain is a big fat ZERO! ????????
Thanks for the update, Calypso! I hope that you are healing well, and that you are back home soon.
I hope everything will be fine with no complications.
You’ll enjoy perfumes once you’re back at home.
Sorry you’re still in the hospital and hoping you can move to your next recovery stage soon!
Hope you’re on the mend. One would think that bureaucracy will get you pushed out as quickly as possible, but hey, better to be monitored as you are healing.
They are going to transfer you to rehab? Hope it is soon!
Late to reply, but I join the others in wishing you the speediest and least painful of recoveries!
Feel better soon! Sending healing vibes!
Trying to use up my samples so today is Aftelier Curious. A big menthol note at first, and then hay, tobacco, and a musk that is giving me a headache. It’s a scrubber for me.
All the Afteliers were pretty much meh or scrubbers for me…and zippo longevity.
Still working on the Arquiste sample set, so I’m in the last of L’Etrog today, with a little Clementine California to soften it up.
I slept very poorly last night, so walked for 30min this morning and decided to take the day off from the gym. I’ve had a perfect attendance record for weeks now, so I’m only feeling a little guilty.
Wow! Perfect attendance! I am in awe (and feeling guilty for my lack of exercise)….no sleep seems to be a theme (I got about four hours myself last night). Wonder if it’s the full moon coming?
I think that has a lot to do with it; seems we had another similar bunch of comments last month at about this time. ????
I think you made the right decision in foregoing the gym today. Too easy to get injured when you are fatigued, IMO.
Agreed. I’ve pushed through before when I’ve been tired, and it’s just no fun. I’ll be back at it tomorrow.
Mostly gloomy and definitely squishy weather today. I saw some very large mushrooms and/or toadstools growing in a neighbor’s lawn today. ????
SOTD = back in Dior Poison Girl EdT. Yeah, I’m a little embarrassed to admit it. ???? But the far drydown smelled so darn good yesterday! I’d say that Poison Girl would be a good example of a “Guilty Pleasure” perfume.
I finished a bottle of it – every group needs a few outliers
Now that I’ve had time to ponder on it, I am going to do a side by side comparison someday with Hugo Boss Deep Red to see if Poison Girl has any similarities with that.
Stella for me, but I think I’ve become anosmic to it, which would be unfortunate. Errands. Car servicing, stopping to get some packing supplies…and Costco! Costco is exotic to me. But I never feel compelled to join.
A cool 100F here. My sister has been opening doors and windows in the evening while here, but I may tell her no tonight. I think we will keep AC on.
I think the vitamin infused sparkling water I bought has been keeping me awake. Green tea and B vitamins. Will avoid it in the evening from now on.
Oh my. I won’t open the windows at anything over 87 or 88.
SOTD is Narciso Poudree.
I saw Sorry to Bother You the other day, and, since I’m bored right now, I’m trying to narrow down some fragrances that match up with the movie’s themes. Its a trip.
Did you love the movie? I have not been paying much attention to what is out on screen this summer, and that looks great!
I’ve decided that I did like it. Its funny and surreal and sometimes disturbing. Definitely avoid all spoilers- it goes off in very very unexpected directions.
Sotd is No. 19 edp. I smell darn good!
Yes you do! No ands, ifs or buts!
OMG, scent twins! I’m telling you, we are on the same wavelength!
SotD = Vanille Galante
Smells like lilies today, and lovely vanilla.
Hope everyone had a fragrant and fabulous day.
You smelled lovely today!
So very hot in my apartment today. Gave myself a good dousing of AG Vetiver cologne as soon as I walked in the door and that freshened me up some…
Vetiver is for me what citrus is for many others, the perfect antidote to oppressive heat. Now that I’m planted in front of a fan, topped it up with the gorgeous Sycomore.
My SOTE is eau d’Hadrien, about 10+- sprays to combat the heat.
We’ve been trying to do super clean eating and cut down on alcohol for the last few weeks in an effort to lose a few pounds before my niece and her family arrive for a visit. It’s very hard being good I must say, but I do feel better. It’s very easy to go grab a handful of this or that after dinner for a snack, but when you are more mindful of what you are doing, it makes a difference. Small changes.
That’s rather awesome you have been able to stick with eating clean for a while. It IS difficult! Salty snacks have been my weak spot lately.
Thank you! I hope to keep up with it (within reason).
Yes, salty snacks anything gets me too.
SOTD = Chanel No.19 EDP
I had a presentation and w00t, all done and very well received!
Nice! On both counts!
Congratulations on the presentation!
Good work, 99!
Very late to the party. SOTD was the office friendly Amazing Grace. SOTE is Bomblay Bling on one hand (not feeling it so much tonight) and Ashoka on the other (getting a nice, soft leather with some fig). My order on the Pacifica scents is a mixed bag. They were unable to get any Spanish Amber or Tibetan Mountain Temple. Thank goodness there are plenty of good ambers and I already have TMT. They are going to send me two Mediterranean Figs, so not bad in the end.
All of the Graces are excellent for office….I have worn quite a few of them over the years.
Ack! What a shame about the Pacificas! I guess die hard fans are now scrambling to pick up the remains of stock. I am sure the prices will triple on ebay now.
