French niche house Serge Lutens will launch L'Innommable, a new fragrance in the Gratte-ciel (skyscraper) collection. The bottle design was inspired by the 1927 Fritz Lang film Metropolis.
Serge Lutens Parfums' L'Innommable is a seductive, brilliant perfume that walks the fine line between hot and cold and light and dark. This fragrance blends notes of Siam benzoin, cumin, and frankincense for a resinous, ambery scent.
Serge Lutens L'Innommable is available now for pre-order at Barneys (delivery in September), $375 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

The bottle is beautiful and someone on facebag said the scent is also wonderful, but the aspirational pricing will likely keep me from ever smelling this.
My thoughts exactly!!
I have sort of lost interest in SL, and the last few times I read glowing reviews, I was puzzled when I actually smelled the fragrances. So I will not lose any sleep over this.
No wonder I adore the bottles so much, Metropolis is a favorite movie of mine!
I wore (and sold) Shiseido Feminite du Bois back in the 1990’s when I was a fragrance SA at Maas Brother’s and Dillard’s but I just can’t identify with Uncle Serge branding the last few years.
That’s ok, at $300-$800 a pop, I’m not his target customer but I’m a little sad/wistful about it.
I think I was sad, and then I got over it after Dent de Lait.
