Happy Wish List Friday! Our community project for today: wear a fragrance that's in the top 5 of your full bottle wish list. Thanks to Katrina for the suggestion!
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I went with Hiram Green Moon Bloom, on my wish list since it launched in 2014.
Reminder: on 6/22 we're doing the Picture challenge, edition 3. Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is David Hockney's Beverly Hills Housewife, from 1966. You can read more about the painting here and here.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Perfect sunny, breezy, cool, bright day today.
Wearing Chanel Sycamore EdT. Again, I didn’t buy a full bottle when it was available and again I regret it. I just finished my sample and I am glad I was able to get rid of 5 samples from the huge pile. this week.
Have a super happy Friday everyone!
Do they not sell it anymore?
You can find them mostly on Ebay and very expensive. Unless, I keep an eye to see if a discounted bottle shows up I do not think I will get it.
Smelling wonderful!
Thank you! ????
I did that with Dior Eau Noire, one of the very few lavender frags I have ever loved. I looked at that huge, 8 ounce bottle and thought, “Don’t be ridiculous. It’s more than three hundred dollars, and you’ll never, ever, ever use it up.”
That is the biggest mistake we can ever make. Those huge bottles can always be splitted or we ca swap some decants, etc. In the case the Les Exclusifs we knew far in advance that the EDTs were going to be discontinued. ????
I would have loved a bottle of the Sycomore EdT, too. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t in the cards.
Same here! 🙁
Cristalle eau Vert
FB wish list
Oh I love Cristalle eau Vert! You smell Great! The original goes sour on me but Vert is so fresh. I swear it lowers humidity too!
In today’s heat it’s so good
Go Spain today: I will be following the game on the phone. Too bad since Portugal is by far the best looking team ????????
Everyone keeps mentioning this scent- sounds really good.
You smell great!
Moon Bloom sounds delish! I’m wearing Bvlgari Au The Vert. I’m kicking myself because I went to Neimans last night to buy Eau de Memo with its green tea and leather beauty but I waffled and bought Fleur de Portofino by TF instead because it reminded me of my grandma. And now I want the tea I didn’t buy.
I want to smell that Memo! The reviews have been very favorable. Fleur de Portofino is wonderful. I guess you’ll just have to go shopping again 😉
It is always the one that got away, isn’t it?
Le ????
And the top of the wishlist award goes to… Tauer Perfumes Les Annees 25! Of course I would fall in love with a limited edition perfume.
Isn’t it the way? We fall in love with unicorns. 🙂
SOTD is vintage Estee, by Estee Lauder. Another powdery spicy floral scent. There is a touch of carnation but it’s not heavy, I get more powder than spice from it.
I’m so glad we made it to Friday. 🙂
High five on making it to Friday!
Absolutely! 🙂
Everytime I read your SOTD I am taking a walk down memory lane….
You have the best vintage perfume collection 🙂
Thank you! I do love the oldies but goodies, maybe I’m ‘vintage’ also! 🙂 🙂
You smell lovely! I recently found that one at a discount outlet and really enjoyed the blotter spray of Estee… must pick up a sample of it to give it a proper trial before buying. I’ve also recently been longing for my old vintage favorites. I’ve given up trying to stay on top of the overwhelming new releases and am retreating to my tried and true past loves and others of the same era that are new to me. I’m planning on picking up the EDT of Opium today as I love it in summer, oddly enough, and possibly White Linen to celebrate my own birthday – ha! (No guilt whatsoever here with self-gifting ; )
Have a good weekend all!
I agree, it’s overwhelming to keep up with new releases, I am so happy just enjoying what I already own. I get a lovely lilac note from the vintage, it’s a touch sweet and green, and oh so enjoyable. 🙂
Happy birthday AnnJune!
If I had a sample of Chanel No. 19, I’d likely wear that. Not sure why I haven’t just gone ahead and gotten a bottle. I think maybe it’s that I’m undecided between EdT and EdP…
So…I’m in a favorite. OJ Frangipani. I have travel sprays but will need a full bottle at some point I’m sure. One of the few like that. (Another is Fiori di Capri…my bottle was a used one from eBay)
I LOVE that painting. Gorgeous.
No 19 was one of my contenders for todays project as well. I’ve been nursing along a few decants but eventually I’ll have to buy it.
Frangipani is on my FB wish list as well. I almost wore it today but already wore Champaca earlier in the week, so decided on something else. You smell great!
I say get both, especially if hubby likes both.
Hi Friday! I was going to wear Zoologist Elephant today since it will almost definitely be my next buy, but then I spotted Monsieur Balmain in my husband’s closet and it called my name in honestly much too loud a voice for such a refined gentleman.
Scent twins! I bought a travel bottle of Macque last month and while I really like it, Elephant is perfect for this time of year when green smells so good and I wish I’d gotten it instead.
Oh wait, I just reread your comment and see that I got it wrong, I’m sorry!
That’s ok, we can be next-bottle twins instead 😉
Funny how a perfume can call out to you. Mine are pretty polite, though, calling out “yoo hoo” and waving a hanky…
Wearing Dovana by Sylvaine Delacourte.
Not a top 5 FB list, but on the list, and perfect for the spring-like day we are experiencing .
Happy Friday
I never did really rank my top 5 🙂
Wishing for Wit. In Bronze Goddess cream so far….Happy Friyay!????
You’re smelling awesome in that BG cream!
thank you!!!!
Wit is high on my wish list too.
I love that painting!
Completing skank week with a la nuit, I don’t think I need a FB of this; my life needs a jasmine that’s a little less…ripe? Haha
Too bad Keiko Mecheri’s Jasmine doesn’t seem to be in production any more. It was really pretty without that white flower wallop.
It’s not? Oh, that’s too bad. It was gorgeous.
I have a full bottle of A La Nuit – I love it but a little goes a long way. I’ve had my bottle for fourteen years and I have a good 10ml left.
You small great! My ripe note detector must be set on kill, because I don’t get ripe from this. Just sparkling JASMINE! I will admit a bit goes a long way, but it’s lovely.
At first spray I definitely get eau d’public bathroom, but after a while it settles down into ripe banana with brown spots! Still enjoying it though 🙂
Ha!
Hi everyone! Today is my sons 16th birthday, i just can’t believe it. Sotd is Iris Celadon. I would wear this so much more if I had a fb. It’s currently special occasion use only. Hope everyone has a great weekend ????
Happy birthday to your son 🙂
Happy birthday to your son. Hope you all have a great time today.
I hope your son has an excellent birthday!
Happy Birthday to your son! Sweet 16…
Happy Birthday to your son! Enjoy every moment with him!!!
Your son’s birthday is definitely a special occasion! Happy birthday to him.
I showed him all his birthday wishes. He says thank you!
Birthday twins! Happy birthday to your 16-year-old Gemini. Hope he is having a wonderful day!
Hey, happy birthday!
Thanks LillyJo!
He shares a birthday with my boyfriend! We both took the day off work, so it’s been a fun day. Happy birthday to your son!
Aww, happy sweet sixteen to your boy lillyjo!????
Happy birthday to your son! I might be able to help you with Iris Celadon since I bought it at SFA Beauty on 2 even though I still have a largish decant from a swap with clarissa.
Happy birthday to your son! You smell beautiful.
Hey lillyjo, I hope that your son had a fantastic 16th birthday! ????????
Annick Goutal Mandragore Pourpre is my SOTD. I have a small sample of Caron Aimez Moi and I wouldn’t mind having a full bottle, but its way too hot here to wear it today.
Ah! Is the Pourpre “weightier” than the regular Mandragore?
To me, they smell very similar. I haven’t smelled Mandragore in a while though, so I am a little foggy about the differences.
Aimee Moi is gorgeous!
Since E and Z are not close to each other, I will blame this on spell check.
I was awake early today due to the sun shining in through the window blinds. Couldn’t get back to sleep so I got up to put away some perfumes that had stockpiled on my dresser.
When going through my decants, I found Shalimar, the Mexique version; so that is what I’m wearing today. I’d love a bottle of this!
Is there one certain note that stands out in this version, compared to the original?
Yes, chocolate and also a bit of smoke in the background. It’s heavenly!
I love that one! To me it has cocoa powder in the dry down that goes with the Mexican vanilla. It’s one of just a few fragrances I own a back-up bottle of.
This was one where the SA at SFA said was already sold out when it first launched. I finally got mine from Galeries Lafayette in Paris so mine always brings back good memories whenever I wear it.
Well, I just googled Galeries Lafayette. OMG! What an amazing place; I want to go shopping with you!
Perfume bought on vacation is the best kind!
It is!
Aside from De Profundis, a FB of which I am absolutely pining for and have on back-order (sigh), the two fragrances that have been on my wish list the longest are Kerosene Broken Theories and SMN Eva. Broken Theories definitely won’t work for the office (it smells too much like something is on fire), and I just wasn’t feeling Eva-ish or De Profundis-ish this morning. Let’s pretend I’m in Broken Theories for the sake of the theme, and I will wear a bit at bedtime tonight – I promise! 🙂 Happy Friday everyone.
Kerosene has such evocative scents. Unknown Pleasures has my favorite first-10-minutes of any fragrance I’ve tried so far. Never thought I would want to smell *exactly* like a slice of lemon cake and a cup of Earl Grey, but apparently I do!
Lemon cake and Earl Grey sounds delish – adding to my “want to sample” list.
Oh my. I’m pretty sure I have a sample of Unknown Pleasures lurking somewhere!
De Profundis is also on my top 5 list. It’s amazing. Only the bell jar price gives me pause. I own Eva and love that one too. It’s my clean but underlying steel ladylike scent. It also works wonderfully in the heat. Superbly versatile… (wink)
I love Eva in the heat too! Guess I’d better get my YKW in gear one of these days and go find a bottle before it’s too late. 🙂
Wearing Arielle Shoshana edp. Again. It smells even better in the summer than it did in cold weather! Once my decant is gone I’m going to need a FB. Love it.
Same!! Hi twin! So gorgeous and totally fun!
Yay! It was hard for me to believe I’d be all alone today. You smell wonderful!!
Arielle Shoshana is SO good in summer. Especially in hot, humid weather!
Last year around the September anniversary of her eponymous boutique, the perfume was 20% off and I ended up splitting 2 bottles. Make sure you get on the mailing list in case you aren’t already.
Oh thanks!! I’m on the mailing list. Will jump at the chance for a discount.
I’m in AG Mandragore today. I love it, but it doesn’t have enough longevity or sillage to push it into the high ranks my wish list.
A friend gave me a bottle and I keep it in the fridge in the summer, as fleeting refreshment.
Sounds like a great way to use it!
Almost twins !!
Waving back to my near-enough twin —
I am wearing Un Jardin Sur le Toit. This was the first Hermes I bought. I found a mini on eBay, years ago. I loved it immediately and started buying up minis of the rest of the Jardin series. I am just waiting to finish up the mini before I buy a full bottle.
I love those minis!
What a great scent! It was the first scent my niece put on her wishlist after I’d made her a collection of samples. You both have excellent taste.
That’s a lovely scent. Definitely FB worthy.
Hello everyone, back from my trip Back East for a conference and visiting friends and family. Currently in Dourceur de Siam, which was on last year’s wish list – this year’s is L’Attesa, but I’d already used up the sample…
I do not have any regrets for buying my full bottle of L’Atessa recently. It is an absolutely beautiful. My second favorite iris perfume.
Dourceur de Siam is also another one on my full bottle wishlist, but not on the top 5. You smell fantastic.
Thank you! I’ve been holding off with L’Atessa because of the price per ml as well as shipping woes. The fact that I have other pretty irises no longer seems to be holding me back, though…
What irises perfumes you like the most? I am still trying to sample as many as I can. I am an iris obsessed person.
I have SL Bas de Soie (iris and hyacinth), Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue (the absolue absolutely makes a difference) and AG L’Heure Exquise, a favourite office scent. What are your favourites?
I love Chanel 28 La Pausa EdT which is my favorite iris perfume. L’Atessa, SL Iris Silver Mist, Chanel 19 Poudre, VC&A Bois d’Iris, AC Silver Iris. I like almost every iris perfume I have tried so far. I love the carroty part of it the most.
Douceur de Siam is Perfume with capital P and so so pretty. You smell beautiful.
L’Atessa is wonderful, I loved sampling that one. Masque’s Luci ed Ombre is also on my “perfumed-unicorn-lemming-fantasy” wish list, which is a few steps beyond the “realm-of-possibility” wish list where I try to spend most of my time. 😉
Byredo’s Accord Oud and Heeley’s Iris de Nuit are at the top of my (fairly short) wish list. I don’t have any of the Heeley at the moment, but I have a fairly new 5ml decant of AO and I’m enjoying that this morning.
We’re supposed to get rain today due to the remains of a hurricane passing over the Southwest – fingers crossed that it rains alllll day!
I sampled Accord Oud just yesterday and fell in love! It’s an oud one can wear year round. I also got a sample of Bibliotheque and Belle de Tanger. The SA at Neimans was very generous with samples. I haven’t liked any Byredo except for Baudelaire so I was surpised to like these three.
I was very skeptical of oud + fruit but it works so well. I also like it year-round (my other ouds are all feel very seasonal).
Where are you located (if you don’t mind saying)? I’m in NM and we are supposed to get a good bit of rain tomorrow from the storm you mentioned and I am so excited lol. We are in a pretty bad drought already- didn’t get enough precip this winter apparently.
I’m in Tucson. We’re also very dry – right now it’s overcast and we’ve had a few sprinkles, hopefully it will get going soon 🙂
Its cool outside and I’m by myself at work for the most part, so it was a good day for Shay and Blue Framboise Noir, which will be part of my next Luckyscent purchase. Right now I’m down to two drops.
Two drops… Enjoy having the office ti yourself!
Annick Goutal – Encens Flamboyant is mine today. I like it very much but can’t quite convince myself to get a full bottle… for some reason, can’t see myself wearing it often.
Oh I love that one! You smell marvelous!
It is. Have you tried CdG Avignon? If yes, is it similar? I keep thinking one of them will end up being purchased.
To me, Encens Flamboyant is more pure frankincense and pine, Avignon is more of an incense blend.
Thank you! for me / on me, I feel the frankincense a long time. I don’t get the pine until after at least an hour.
I would say that Avignon and Encens Flamboyant aren’t similar at all. Avignon is very much Catholic church midnight mass at Christmas to me, while EF is lighter in feel.
Great imagery 🙂 thank you!
Also 🙂 thank you
I went with Satori which is currently at the top of my wishlist. It’s beautiful but sort of pisses me off at the same time. I only get an hour hour of light projection and then it becomes a total skin scent for another few hours. I wonder if it would make a difference if I could spray it with abandon? Maybe I’m anosmic? Dunno…
Didn’t know that so looked it up. Sounds very nice. One of the reviews said it lasts better in humid air. But most said wears close.
I live on the east coast so we have plenty of humidity. I’ll save my last few drops for a steamy day. Thanks!
Maybe you need to dab this one instead of spray?
I guess I was thinking that it is ethereal, like La Pausa, so it probably needs at least eight sprays. As per your recommendation. ????
I’m in Beach hut woman from Amouage, and it’s in my top 5 of scents I have to have.
The name is insanely boring, but the scent is beautiful. The notes of sandy driftwood and salty skin fits right in between Gucci Guilty absolute, Le Labo Benjoin 19 and Byredo Gypsy water.
The name is definitely philistine for what feels like an otherwise luxe house.
Yes, it should be Seaside Villa or the like.
Yes! Perfect!
That sounds wonderful!
Wow, I must try this!
Cheating a bit in Annyake Miyako – it was at the top of my list, but then my new bottle arrived last weekend! On me this is like a base of Mitzah (which I adore) with a woody incense veil floating over it. Perfection!
This sounds good. The one that won awards (Auphorie) smelled like wet cement to me.
It does sound good!
Good morning, all. Today I’m wearing Chanel Misia. I’d like a bottle sometime. It’s got all the Chanel hallmarks plus I like the fruit note–had to look it up to remember it’s lychee, an unusual one (to me at least). It makes it stand out more. The top of my list would be April Aromatics Calling All Angels, which I still haven’t sprung for. I don’t have anything left though of my sample to put on today (sadly). Hope everyone has a nice Friday and fun weekend plans! I’m supposed to meet a friend for lunch and then some shopping–I haven’t had a good outing for so long, I’m really looking forward to it.
I wonder if the travel size is back in stock on their website? CAA is such a great scent.
Misia is beautiful. I bought a FB when it was first released. It’s one of the few perfumes I wear all year round, so it’s gotten a lot of wear.
I’ve gone through quite a bit of my decant. I don’t wear it often, but I feel so ladylike when I do.
Moon Bloom is on my whishlist to buy for my wife for a couple of years.
What I am wearing from my wishlist since 2014 is Straight to Heaven by Kilian.
You smell great! I love that one, but my husband told me I smelled like a dude the last time I wore it!
I’m in Heure Exquise which I’d love a bottle of!
TGIF for sure. AND I think it will be a short day at work- so many people are out today that several of us are thinking of calling it early around noon and having lunch and a drink. Woo hoo!
Woo hoo indeed!
Have a great time!
Lunch and a drink is a definite woo hoo! Enjoy!
Heure Exquise is usually available at the discounters ????
Nothing on a list…I don’t even have a list at the moment…so….
Tempo in hair and on neck, L”eau de Kasaneka on wrists and a spray of Pacifica Sandalwood on top of hand from the tester at Nature’s Pantry….they still have several spray bottles of Sandalwood, Med Fig and Wakiki Pikaki…..despite the d/c status I did NOT buy any of them…partly because I was with Mr. CM8 and could not justify a purchase and partly because I am happy with what I have at the moment and just want to wear what I already own.
Reeking havoc again, I see!
I am wearing Une Rose and I also have a fragrance question. Apparently Rochas Femme got reformulated in 2013 with a new bottle and everything. Somehow I missed this — has anyone smelled it? Did they (badly) reformulate my baby?
I have not, sorry! Hope somebody has and will chime in.
OJ Osmanthus from a precious decant, such a pretty and cheerful fragrance. On my w/l for a couple of years. I will have a bottle someday.
Ooh yes, it is so pretty. You smell wonderful!
Taking advantage of the cooler temps and clouds to wear Cire Trudon Revolution which is probably my favorite from the coffret and probably my favorite smoke scent. It manages to be rather weightless and airy with a hint of cool green in the mix. This would make my FB wishlist, definitely, if I still adore it when I finish the 10ml.
Went to the Aedes event last night and sniffed a bunch. I really liked Miller et Bertaux Tulsivivah! I just wanted to keep spraying it for the delicious citrus/orange, herbal top notes-the base was a bit sweet for me. Took home a sample and reapplied to find the sample is not that! Some generic incense thing-I have no idea what it is ???? Also got a sample of AdV Copal Azur-same with adoring the top notes, but then gets sweeter and more dense and not as interesting IMO.
Was getting the coffret worth it? I only see .7 ml samples on Luckyscent…
I definitely have no regrets since I like all the scents and they’re all different and wearable imo. And it was like $110ish for 5×10ml sprays, so definitely a good price these days. The coffret is only available at Cite Trudon- not sure about online? I bought mine in a brick n mortar here.
Glad you went to Aedes and it was fun. I briefly considered but lost energy. Been a long time since I’ve been in there…
Was the sample also a spray, or is this a spray vs. dab thing?
Glad you had a good time. Sorry your sample was wrong. Did you meet any YouTube reviewers?
Happy Friday!
1) SOTD: Prada Infusion d’Oeillet. I have the dabber mini set BUT I really would not mind a full bottle of this.
2) It is going from mild to BLAZING this weekend- so I will have to hustle and put the mulch down on my plants and water them deeply. Also- I would like to go to Mt Hood and check out the regrowth after the fires last year.
Your SOTD is so good! Isn’t that mini set fun??
I love the mini set!
Your SOTD is so good! Isn’t that mini set fun??
You smell fabulous! Both the Oeillet and the Amande are in my top 5 most wanted.
Oh yes- The Amande is simply lovely!
Do I have your “new” addy since we met at Fumerie?
I need to send it to you!
SotD = Zoologist Camel, just a few dabs on one wrist
Cinnamon, dates, resins, and a hint of rose, this Camel hits all the right notes. From top to bottom, nothing is out of place, everything working in concert. Of the few from this line I’ve tried, this is the one I would go all in for.
Hope everyone has a fabulous and fragrant Friday.
My husband used up his sample almost immediately – it will definitely be on the list when I figure out which animals I want in my coffret! I’m thinking Camel, Elephant, Civet, Rhinoceros and… maybe a second Camel if my mind doesn’t get changed by the samples of Moth and Hyrax that are winging their way to me.
I was just musing over how Camel would smell great on anyone and I’d sure like to smell it on a gentleman. That sounds like a wonderful coffret for you and hubby to share. 🙂
Camel is fabulous on my skin. I get a definitive El Attrine vibe from it.
Oh cool, I love El Attarine. Also jonesing for Moth.
I like your selections, but I bet Moth may turn up on your final list! Note also they have $40 travel sprays that are very nice and also small sets of various travel sprays for $135-145. I’ve now bought 3 of the travel sprays (Civet, Bat, and Moth). I don’t feel the need to buy any more, but I like the look of those little set!
I’m definitely going for the travel set! I never buy full size if I can help it, and this is a really good deal.
Ooh, I have to haul out my sample!
Yes, do it! 😀 Camel wafts so wonderfully, you’ll be glad you did.
I am wearing L’Original by Andree Putman. I love this peppery, woody, refreshing scent. It’s so obviously a Giacobetti creation, and I see it as a younger sister to Passage d’Enfer. Why don’t I have a bottle yet???
My other top contenders for today were Chene, Ormonde Jayne Champaca, and Paris*LA.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy day.
I would take all of your choices! (I already own Chene, and used to own Champaca).
SOTD = Sonoma Scent Studio Bees’ Bliss
FB wishful thinking. While I was able to replenish other SSS perfumes with either 17 or 34 mLs, I missed out on a size larger than 5 mLs of Bees’ Bliss. Perhaps whomever takes over SSS will revive this. A girl can only dream. Oh, and I also was not able to replenish To Dream but I am in no danger of running out.
Gorgeous day out and I can hopefully get out around 3. The work won’t magically go away but that is a problem to be addressed next week.
Does anyone have experience with Etsy dispute resolution? I may have to go this route as an upcycled sterling silver bangle I ordered in April from a South Africa-based seller never arrived. I spoke with the Post Office and the manager said she has a picture of the beat-up box with a Return to Sendet stamp that had travelled within the US (it was in NY and it inexplicably got sent to CA). I’ve never had a problem with this seller and had bought many items from her in the past.
What’s a post without Commuting Woes?
Commuting Woes No. 435:
Things I can’t unsee or Did you look at the mirror before you left the house?
– The tucked in knit shirt look emphasizes love handles, especially if you are wearing pants that are at least 2 sizes smaller than what you need.
– hey guys, high water jeans should only be worn by those whose legs are so skinny that my arm looks fat by comparison. That’s one. Secondly, if you insist on wearing them anyway, please consider wearing boat shoes / no socks, instead of dress shoes with socks.
Just FYI, I will probably post more freebies tomorrow for my definition of regulars – you know who you are!
Have not had experience with Etsy dispute resolution, I hope they err on the side of pleasing the buyer so you are happy in the end.
I’ve had more problems with sending and receiving via USPS in the past few years than in the previous three decades. And it wasn’t only lost perfume, just sayin’.
Same here…MASSIVE problems with the USPS and not just perfume packages…mail as well…they keep delivering to the wrong address…..
So not fair to you but a pox on the other people who basically stole what’s yours!
Surprisingly, with my most recent batch of perfume packages, the post office overachieved. I wonder if the USPS had learned the art of under-promise, over-deliver? (pun intended)
Lol at the dress shoes with socks????
I was thinking that maybe the person misunderstood policy (no sneakers / recreational shoes) or he simply did not have any fashion sense!
The customers where I work will come in wearing sweat pants or jeans, but always with fancy shoes. I figure it’s like me wearing my good perfume to the grocery store LOL ????
As a fat person, I’d like to gently remind us all that anyone can wear anything they want, and love handles are a perfectly acceptable thing to emphasize. I’m sure you didn’t mean to offend, hajusuuri – the assumption that some clothes are off-limits for fat people is taken for granted by so many which is exactly why I want to say something! I hope if we met in person you wouldn’t want to unsee me.
I’m glad you commented, Regina and I would love to meet you. And I promise I won’t unsee you.
Absolutely no offense meant / intended. My comments are my opinion based on my observations. There was nothing on the post about fat people. I myself have love handles and I for one would not want to emphasize them. I agree anyone can wear anything but I don’t have to like it. Perhaps I have watched too many shows or read magazines that talk about how to flatter different body types?
Maybe! There certainly are plenty of magazines that would stuff us all into corsets if they could. I appreciate your response! <3
Corsets! No thanks. I just buy bigger jeans as necessary, LOL.
Totally agree Regina. Well said.
My husband always jokes « that person must have no friends » when he sees someone in a particularly egregious outfit. Like you, I prefer to disguise my flaws rather than flaunt them.
I can see that…like the woman a while back who wore a skirt so short that she kept having to hold it down while walking down Madison Ave and it wasn’t even a particularly windy day!
Jicky extrait. I love this but it pings my skank/ripe meter to max. It’s so over the top it cracks me up, but then it settles and just glows. For days. I will probably take the plunge in the fall. I hate shipping my precious here, as I fear heat damage in transit this time of year. Anyone else have temperature concerns/limits on orders?
Be well.
I don’t often buy perfume by mail from July through October. Too hot in those delivery vehicles!
Persackly! I guess I’ll have to make more perfume pilgrimages.
I bet you smell phenomenal. I haven’t smelled the extrait yet, but I loooove Jicky.
I live in the desert, and it gets so hot that I don’t order any perfume, skin care, etc. from around the end of April to October. I mean, the temperature can reach around 120°F in an un-air-conditioned vehicle….
Don’t I know it. I sat in my car to write a quick note with a/c off and was sweltering in 2 min. I had not thought about makeup/skincare. That goes on the list. ???? Good to know!
I ordered a lipstick the other day and it arrived fine. I let it cool down before applying since it appeared shiny. My wallet would appreciate me taking a summer break from ordering perfumes etc. I live where the temps can get to 100 degrees.
Eeek! Lipstick disaster averted. Most of my packages get delivered to a cooled drop off and I pick them up later, so I had not considered the effects on makeup. It is good to know. Thanks!
Yes! I learned the hard way to not order lipsticks and/or lip balms until September or October. It did not melt completely, and is still wearable, but it is a lot softer than other products I have from that brand.
Hey, Happy Friday, you guys!
For today’s project, I’m in Amouage Beloved (and compulsively huffing myself). Full-bottle-wish-list worthy, indeed.
The remains of Hurricane Bud are supposed to dump some rain on us here in the Old Pueblo. We need it, so please keep your fingers crossed for us.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
I hope you get your much needed rain! I had been monitoring its path and it was originally going to hit a Texas significantly (but not at the level of Harvey).
Hoping you folks in the Southwest get the rain! My brother has mentioned that Colorado is bone dry, too. ????
TGIF. Perris Monte Carlo Tubereuse Absolue from a sample. I’d like a bottle of this. There’s also an extrait. It’s a lovely tuberose with a little spice.
This sounds really nice.
It is – I’m finding the edp doesn’t last very long, but it’s a dab vial and not a spray sample.
Fiele Viola is top of my wish list. It smells like a very dry and old ( antique) wooden drawer filled with rioe figs..even though it’s viola. Good lasting power. Boswelia is another wish lister.
Saturday here, yay!
I really enjoy the Fiele line too. They’re affordable and seem to have quality ingredients – nothing screechy and synthetic about them.
Ideally I would be wearing Bucoliques de Provence from a full bottle, but in reality my SOTD is Eau perfumée au thé bleu by Bvlgari from a sample. Which is also really nice but somehow does not quite inspire the same affection in me.
Bucoliques has been top of my wishlist for a while, but not quite willing to pay full price for it and haven’t seen it at a better price anywhere. Which would leave me some money to spare to get this blue Bvlgari as well.
If L’Artisan had not stopped making 15 ml bottles, I would buy more, but I have not bought a thing from them since they stopped 🙁
SotD was Fat Electrician
From a sample. Would not mind a FB of this.
When my husband hugged me goodbye this morning he said to me “a French Lover meets a Fat Electrician, how romantic” 🙂
(i gifted him my French Lover bottle, he wears it better than me…now it has become his signature for spring/summer)
On my list as well! I wish they made smaller sizes; I love its weirdness but know it would be a very occasional wear.
I have seen 30 mL bottles of Fat Electrician on some of the discount websites every so often, as well as the ELdO website.
Awww! Nice to have a husband who enjoys fragrance, and cracks perfume jokes. Yay!????
DSH Foxy is on my arm and on my wishlist but I’m trying to be on a no buy to save up for my DSH custom scent in September
I think what you saved on baking your own wedding cake is at least what you should be able to spend on the bespoke DSH perfume. How exciting is that?!?!!!
Nothing on my wishlist at the moment. It’s supposed to get very hot here next week so I’m wearing Salome today. I’ll be wearing citruses and Hermes-weight florals by next Tuesday.
Yes — 70s today, expecting 90s on Monday, ack!
Even worse is the predicted heat index… 100+ F!????
Oh, did not even see that part!
L’Eau D’hiver from one of those adorable FM manufacturers’ samples. I figured I would love this one, and I do. I think it is “my” Apres l’ondee and lasts longer on my skin. I am draining the sample pretty quickly and it went immediately onto the buy list.
Excited to get home from work and check out my order from STC. They are shipping all orders out of Wisconsin now, so orders get to me lickety split! Which could be a good or bad thing.????
Yay for packages!
I think those two perfumes are very similar too.
I didn’t follow the CP today because I took a vacation day to spend my boyfriend’s birthday with him, so I could wear whatever I wanted! However, my urges led me to an office friendly perfume anyway, Papillon Tobacco Rose. I’ve been in the mood for tobacco perfumes lately, probably because I’m burning a DW Home Warm Tobacco Pipe candle. Last weekend I wore Volutes a lot and sprayed my boyfriend down with Tobacco Vanille.
I haven’t decided on SOTN yet since Tobacco Rose is almost gone. My Smell Bent package of Never Never Land fb and Gypsy travel spray arrived, so maybe one of those?
Hope the boyfriend had a happy birthday and that you enjoyed your day off!
Thanks, it’s been a really good day! And my perfume tonight is Profumum Rosae Mundi.
A bit of a crazy day today, so posting kind of late. SOTD = ELdO’s Jasmin et Cigarette, from the sample stash. It is on my full bottle wishlist, but I keep waffling back and forth on it. I have plenty of samples to tide me over, so no hurry for me to make a decision.
I think this was the one that ElisaP said smelled different from the FB vs the sample. I have an old mini from an STC sale which I haven’t worn yet!
This one is a chameleon on me. Sometimes it’s all jasmine all the time, other times it’s a lovely jasmine tea, and today it is jasmine plus a light blonde tobacco scent. If I remember correctly, the method of application makes a difference in how this will smell. Hope you like what you smell with your mini.
Summer for me means something tropical that blooms in the humidity with lots of white flowers, so I love Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Desire. It reminds be a bit of Guerlain’s Terracotta, but I think it’s got more punch. I don’t recall if Terracotta has coconut in it? It also has quite a price tag, but I think I will be going in for a full bottle soon! Definitely creamy and smooth.
hi, imapirate, I like to wear Terracotta many times a year. The coconut is there, it’s never overbearing, but it seems more prominent when I wear the scent in cool weather.
Checking in late, it was a gorgeous sunny day so it was perfect for the cheerful Hermes Twilly.
I wore that home from a Sephora trip recently. It really is upbeat.
Twilly is on my “Try on skin” list.
SOTM was Hermes Santal Massoia. SOTE will be some Guerlain Iris Ganache from a little decant. I wish I had fallen in love with it when Neiman Marcus still carried it. I fell for Angelique Noire instead. I don’t regret AN (or Cuir Beluga) at all, but I wish I had given IG a second chance a lot sooner.
