Happy Almost-Friday, and happy birthday to Bob Dylan. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm wearing Berdoues Assam of India for what looks to be a warm sunny day.
Reminder: on 5/25 we're doing Oh the Places You’ll Go...wear a perfume with a place name. Suggested by Elisa.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2018, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is Madan Kamdev (9) [cropped] by Travelling Slacker at flickr; some rights reserved.
Wearing Iris Ganache.
I may not be in a specific location, but I smell fantastic.
Have a great day !!!
One of my all-time faves! You smell amazing
You do smell great. 🙂
I read that they were bring that back at the end of this month..
Maybe we will see it on the split meet
Time for another delicious but sadly discontinued L’Occitane scent – Immortelle de Corse. (Corse = Corsica.) Lots of honey and vanilla at the beginning, herbs and flowers come later.
That was a good one. I bought Atélier Cologne Blanche Immortelle as a replacement.
I have a sample of Blanche Immortelle, still untested. Need to test it soon then.
Sampling Pivoine Suzhou from Armani which is a bright spring appropriate scent
Sorry if I missed it or forgot, but have you decided what you’ll wear for your wedding?
I’m making a blend for us– rose, jasmine, sandalwood and frankincense
Aww, that is a lovely idea! ❤️
Oh, that really is lovely!
Today I’m going to wear L’oudh by Andy Tauer. After his last few releases, I was really questioning where (whether, even) he was going, and I’m not really an oudh fan… Butttt… a lovely Luckyscent fairy giftspritzed me a sample and wow. Tire rubber, barnyard floor (in the best way), and the perfect balancing of musk. It’s really nice to see Tauer come back around in spades.
Happy Thursday all. 🙂
Glad to hear you love it! I can’t even get myself to try it.
It’s a real shocker, Robin! I mean, I’m really not an oud fan by any stretch, but it had a beautiful lemony opening and then proceeded into this fine line between filth and frenzied joy. It’s irresistible, I have to say. Maybe you can pony up to it slowly? (No pun intended. 😉 )
HA! Mostly I think I’m just sick of oud, or feel like I have enough oud already? I just don’t feel the same about oud as things like vetiver, iris, etc, where my interest seems to be infinite.
Ditto to both!!
Wow, that’s quite a description! “Barnyard” is a sure lemming for me; I will have to try this!
SOTD is Azemour les Oranges. It turns out that Azemmour (close enough) is a city in Morocco, 75 km southwest of Casablanca, so for once this week I don’t have to make up a story about how I’m on-theme. 🙂
Scent twins!
We smell fabulous!
Someone was talking about orange scents yesterday ..
feuilles d’oranger l’occitane
I smell fab and it’s warm and sunny ????
Did you see the new lipglosses with little Karl Lagerfeld heads as caps? From a co called Modelco, they were on the Nordstrom home page for a couple of days, haha.
Shut the front door!
Googling now…
I think this is probably most of it:
https://www.nocibe.fr/karl-lagerfeld-modelco/C-97968?allProduct=true
I don’t really like KL but the kitty eyeshadow palette cracks me up.
Wearing Le Labo Poivre 23 today which is a London exclusive. And that’s about the closest I can come for the CP as I seem to have no perfumes with place names in the name.
It’s a good CP connection!
10 Corso Como for me today, I’m in Italy. 🙂
Nice choice! You smell wonderful!
Lucky you! Sigh.
In Guerlain Champs Elysees. This is one of my forgotten friends that I rarely wear, but when I do I always enjoy.
I remember back when my old store used to sell perfume and we got that one in. All of us trying to figure out how to say it. We all had our own version. None of them correct ???? you smell wonderful!
Thank you! I am embarrassed to admit that I do not know how to pronounce the name of most of my perfumes, The majority are French…
????
I forget that my French is almost non-existent until I am in a shop looking at perfumes and become mortified by my terrible pronunciation–made worse by my California Spanglish.
While in France I often tried using my horrible “franglais”. One native actually could tell I was from California! I think the hint of Spanglish gave me away, lol. If I ever go to Italy they’ll probably put tape over my mouth before I get off the plane. 😀
I also feel mortified going to the stores to ask for french perfumes, but I always tell the SAs to bear with me because, I do not speak french. All classes taken in high school and college have been almost forgotten.
Enjoyment of French perfume names is the one lasting benefit of the too-many French classes I took in college, lol.
Let’s go perfume shopping together, please! 😀
Being bilingual is handing in this hobby 🙂
Handy – Sigh. 🙂
The only reason I know now, is because my friend, who went to France told me. Also, theres a YouTube video with a super cute French guy who gives correct french designer names. Emphasis on super cute!
You have the link for that maybe please?
Any link?
I have no clue how to link, but it’s the Super Dacob chanel. When I get home i will have my son link it. Lol, sorry
https://youtu.be/ITSfP8HBO5I
Thanks for the link, lillyjo!
I was so sure about perfume I would wear tomorrow – and now you reminded me of this one, and I’m torn between two choices because Champs Elysees is just perfect for this time of the year!
You smell great!
Champs Elysees is a beautiful spring perfume and I do not see people mention it here at all. But I am sure whatever you choose for tomorrow you will smell great!
It’s kind of nice to return to a “forgotten friend” perfume and discover that you still enjoy it. Much better than falling out of perfumed love…
So many forgotten friend perfumes and most of the time I enjoy going back to them.
I’m going back to London, and this time is more successful. After Tuesday’s meh Gallivant showing, I’m in the fun Guerlain London from the Les Voyages Olfactifs series. Tea, rhubarb, citrus, rose, and cardamom. I applied heavily and polished off my little decant, so hopefully I’ll get some longevity.
Hey, that does sound nice and I never did try that one.
When I read “I’m going back to London,” I was convinced that you were talking about an actual trip, so it’s a definite success! 🙂
Ha, I wish! I’ve never been to London.
It’s pretty much summer today, sunny and 80. I have today and tomorrow off, but will be working the weekend. Sotd is Central Park West. I’m smelling much more fancy than I look for my trip to the grocery store. I really like this perfume alot, but I don’t understand why it’s so expensive. There’s one little boutique that sells Bond no 9 in the area ( there is no other niche anywhere close to me ) anyway the SAs act like it’s the only fragrance on earth, and are very pushy about it. And what really bothers me is they don’t even know what their talking about. Now, I’m just ranting cause i really don’t want to go to the grocery store LOL. Have a great day everyone????
You ARE in a lovely part of the city! My mom, who was raised by a single mom and did not grow up with a silver spoon in her mouth in the least, never the less lived in a flat on Central Park West when she was a girl. I think it was a pretty modest home, but with a wonderful view of the park!
I’ve been to NYC once when I was 13. My aunt took me to either Saks or Bloomingdales, I bought a pair of socks because it was the only thing less than the ten dollars I had in my pocket. Then she took me to the empire state building, where I promptly had my first anxiety attack ( thanks NY) I remember her saying we couldn’t go to Central Park. The United Nations was cool though.
Ha! Your 13 year old self reminds me of my old self! I was in a “boutique” the other day and found so many cute things that I thought were crazy expensive, so I ended up getting a pair of sock that had a fun print and said “Carpe the F*#% out of this Diem!” I wear them to work????
Ha! The aggressive Bond SAs at a department store scared me off, so I skittered to the Dior counter. There the sweet and soft-spoken SA gave me a tour of La Collection Privée AND allowed me to choose hand-made spray samples. I chose three and she would have given me more, but I felt guilty watching her decant about 10 mls. Now that’s great marketing.
Perfume is our super power, it even makes us feel fancy at the grocery store. Hope you have a great day too, lillyjo!
Wow 10 ml! That’s insane and wonderful!
Oh, I want to meet that SA! ????????
Pushy SA’s make me very uncomfortable.
Enjoy your day off! I will be work weekend twins with you!
Happy to have the company!
I agree, the Bond SA’s are the worst. They’re very aggressive and snooty. I have seen them in Saks in Houston, and they’ll walk up to you and act offended if you pass by to go to, say, By Killian. Which I prefer, and which has its own snooty aspects, but I’ve always found the SA’s there knowledgeable and low-key.
It’s so silly, because if they were just a little friendly, i might actually buy something.
In NYC you can just be pushy back..!!!
Ha! My ultimate dream, to push back. Someday…
SotD = vintage Samsara, with thanks to a fabulous perfumista for sharing.
Current-day sandalwood aromas can turn screechy-stabby for my nose. This old stuff is gorgeous, pure bliss.
The idea of samsara-as-place makes me pensive. I also thought about sampling the loosely-place-themed Dans Tes Bras and En Passant today.
It’s raining, and I feel like baking cookies. Who will join me? 😀
Made brownies this morn for a gift. Samsara is my winter staple. My granddaughter says I smell like Xmas when she hugs me.
yum, brownies are the BEST gift. Something that someone else takes time to make and that I then get to eat, wow, that is doubly delicious.
Your granddaughter has excellent taste, she most certainly takes after you. 🙂
Too busy today to join, but just pass the plate over when the cookies are still hot!
Coming right up! 😀
That’s what I was going to say! The Little Red Hen 🙂
Robin, you deserve all the cookies! 😉
Aw, thank you!
Vintage Samsara is so good. You smell gorgeous!
thanks, madtowngirl, it is a special perfume.
I’m tempted to sniff current Samsara so I know what to do when my little decant runs out, but perhaps ignorance is bliss. 😯
Back in the day, I couldn’t wear Samsara because of all the sandalwood, today’s version doesn’t bother me, so there is a definite difference. It still smells good though, imo.
Thanks, that’s good to know, lillyjo. 🙂 I will eventually surrender to my curiosity.
I’m always in for baking cookies!
go Team Cookies! 😀
Cookies.. yes..someone say cookies?!
Baking cookies and you are wearing Samsara..yes and yes!
I went with oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate chunks and chopped hazelnuts. And added more Samara. My kitchen smells pretty good today. 😀
Oh, those cookies sound yummy!
I can highly recommend them. 😀
I’ll join you for EATING the cookies, with a tall glass of milk.Even in winter cookies and a cold glass of milk is awesome.
Nom nom nom, I ate a cookie in your honor, johanob.
My son is the same, he loves the cookies with milk. 🙂
Eau de Gentiane Blanche. It’s hot outside, and this I’ve perfectly matches how cool I want to feel.
Hot here too, although I am probably enjoying it more than you are.
Bvlgari Omnia for a morning spent in a classroom with a bunch of other people renewing my ACLS. ????
What fun!
Tons!
You will be all ready to save lives!????
All our megacode patients died! We must be doing something wrong…????
To be fair they were pretty sick to begin with
Indeed they were????
Oh no! Lol. I can totally relate, I have to recertify in NRP (neonatal) also every two years and this year they changed the online testing to include simulation. I couldn’t save my first patient! I was totally panic stricken!????
How I wish we could do it all on-line! Much more convenient since I don’t get paid for time or cost of class, which is ridiculously expensive.
Ha!So glad I got out of the life-saving business.
Ha!I did ACLS two weeks ago as well!
At least you smelled awesome!!
Think I wore Truth or Dare that day.
The instructor was SERIOUSLY HOT.Lol.
I remember you mentioning it. My instructor was not hot, so you lucked out????
I found another orange scent, too, to go along with yesterday’s comments about orange scents – TDC Sienne d’Orange. I get a little bit of leather to go along with the orange. Looks like there’s carrot, too, but I can’t smell that much. (I wouldn’t mind if it was there more, though.)
Playing along today in Unter den Linden!
Yum!
One of my late spring/early summer favorites! You smell very season appropriate (and great)!
In Atelier Cologne Sud Magnolia. Well, Sud is not a place but a destination but for tomorrow I’ll get to the right perfume to fit our theme, I promise 🙂
You smell like summer!
Twins with Robin! This is my first time wearing this, and it really reminds me of what I remember l’occitane’s The Vert smelling like. I lived in that one summer along with the matching body lotion, which I believe was called “body milk” due to it’s thinner consistency, which was perfect for summer. The Vert with Jasmine was lovely too, I wonder why they were discontinued.????
Last call for 10 ml splits of Berdoues Assam of India for 7.88. Email me at pkwisdom in the land of yahooo.
And I spent the summer of 2016 in Assam of India…DAILY wearings of Assam of Indai for SEVEN WEEKS STRAIGHT! I think I have probably earned 20 enabler pins for that fragrance 🙂
You basically made most of us try Assam of India. Even my fb was thanks to you. You get all the enabler pins! ????
actually it was Angela’s post of “finish one bottle” that inspired that summer of Assam….and believe it or not I still haven’t finished it-LOL!
cute little elephant pins!!
OOO…yes!!! elephant pins 🙂
HELLO!!
Yes, I remember you saying that, and now I can see why. It is really refreshing just like The Vert was, did you ever try that one? Plus, you know how cheap I got my bottle for($35!).
Hello back 🙂
Never tried The Vert but if it is anything like Assam I am sure it was/is fantastic. yes, I remember you made out like a bandit when the Berdoues were discounted…that even beats the online retailer prices!!!!
I am hoarding my The Vert. The flankers are just not quite right.
Lucky you! (smart to hoard, the prices on eBay are ridiculous) It really hit the spot during the heat and humidity of summer. I actually preferred it to Bvlgari’s. Agree about the flankers. How do you think it compares to Assam?
Pin from me too: if it weren’t for your praises to the elephants on the bottle, I would have probably stayed at my sample size 🙂
It was that bottle that enticed me to buy the fragrance ???? and you can measure how much juice you are draining by counting the rows of elephants ????????????
I love counting perfumed elephants. 😀
Hi CM! *waves* I just recently got my own elephant bottle and I am so in love with it 🙂 We’re up for a warm day tomorrow and I’m going to pull it out to wear again!
You got an enabler’s pin from me as well!
🙂
Hey twin!
Hey, just saw this! I’m emailing you now…!
Chanel Cuir de Russie. I am staying home today and switching out my winter clothes to bring my summer clothing into my closet. I’ll smell nice while I am doing this, and I am on theme 🙂
I don’t find switching out clothing fun..I do it for myself and my two little ones and I am usually exhausted!
I so need to do that!!
Mmmm! You smell lovely!
This week seems to be dragging, possibly because my 2 weeks off starts a week from tomorrow! Yayy!
It is gorgeous out today and work is pretty chill so far, so nothing to complain about, really.
Arquiste Ella for a pretty dose of femme today.
Is there anything you can compare Ella to?
Superstitious! But less agressive to me and a little more feminine. I love it!
Oh wow, you smell fantastic!
Have fun on your time off! Are you going on vacation somewhere?
Thanks H! My husband’s nephew is getting married in VA, and after that we’re driving down to NC (Sunset Beach) with his family for 5 days. I’m looking forward to it-except the drive back.
Happy bithday, Bob! I will always love you.
Chinatown today because its my happiest fragrance and I am very happy to announce my new job!
Congrats on the new job!!????????
Congratulations!
Excellent! Congrats.
Congratulations! Also, house twins!
Yay!!
Oh, congratulations! ????????
Thanks so much!!
I usually consult project by project, but took an internal consulting role because at 65 I never ever, ever want to interview again.
I’m going to ride this to 69.5 if it kills me. If Bob can keep touring, I can do this!
Yay!Congrats on the new job!Plus you smell awesome!Winning all the way!????????????????
Congratulations! I hope this job fits your needs and does not stress you out much.
Congratulations and best wishes for the new job!
Congrats on the new job!
Yay!!
wonderful news!
Awesome! Congratulations on the new job! ????
Congratulations on the new job!
I’m’ wearing SL Santal de Mysore today. I don’t wear it often as I think of it as very overpowering, but it’s just quite pleasant today. I’ll have to see how it does in our heat and humidity when I go out later. I looked up Mysore on Flickr to learn more about it and found this fabulous photograph of a big palace there:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/fameleaf/3984194020/in/photolist-75535m-bq1cpF-78mobk-F53byY-rrifZG-buFa5D-5xzEFp-e66daF-7WMTpX-WN6sgy-9XGSeX-8oh2eq-QWUrRs-gGQDL-6C9EBJ-ss8Hjs-nNRcpN-aspwNd-n7rxsa-G4fvKp-cjAh2s-sgp9j1-TvV7vh-8u2bZW-dYG6wE-9Udq3A-DVH5yp-Dp4Szm-9BapRt-QDyKAG-KGN46-eauNbx-4RCF72-9RzwLm-LZgRx-b2wY2V-qyzXh6-dX6rC3-fLpbsL-T46AHn-Y5Ye8L-bRAamR-8deCX7-8AV4Zh-T7maoF-7iJzUx-bjCBb9-wkyWGD-bCbaq5-5W5FqP
I went on a tour of that palace many years ago (2000, perhaps?) – but it was the end of a day long excursion (this was the “day off” outing organized by the conference my husband was attending – busloads of physicists hurtling from sight to sight) and I remember nothing except the vendors outside the palace being particularly motivated to make a sale, perhaps because it was the end of their business day, too!
Great shot!
Somebody mentioned wearing Casmir yesterday, which I tend to forget about. Spritzed it today pre-workout (mobility training session at home, lest you think I am one of those rude people who wear too much perfume in public), and it’s just lovely. This should go on a top ten bargain basement list, somewhere.
Whoops. My reply went in the wrong spot.???? See below.
Hey, wearing to much perfume in public can be fun!
Hopping on the Casmir train! Lillyjo wore it Tuesday, which inspired me to wear it yesterday. Who will it be tomorrow?!
You are right about it being a bargain, and a beautiful one at that!
You DO smell just lovely!!
I will have to find a place where I can sample this one..
I want to be on this train too!
Seriously, it’s around 20 bucks at discounters, I get a lot of dry vanilla and benzoin. But, it has depth and a certain exoticness. Definitely more for fall winter, very cozy.
I love Casmir.Top of my own “Best cheapie ever”list!
Lol. Do you want me to send you a bit to try? I am down to the last few mls of my bottle, but I know I will replace it. It’s not easy to find in stores anymore, but like lillyjo said, if you like it, it’s a total steal. I think it is one of those polarizing scents like Angel, people either love it or hate it. It is ❤️ for me. Good reviews here and over at BdJ.
sure if you have any to spare! you can email me sandrabenedict at the land of gmail
In Chanel Cuir de Russie, inspired by all the others who have worn it today or this week. This was a sample of a generous freebie pack provided by a lovely Nst’er. First time I tried it, all I could envision was a dandy spraying his sweaty horse with cologne. Today, the horse aspect is much diminished and I rather get a vintage library vibe.
This morning: Dame Perfumery New Musk perfume oil
Gym: Muguet en Fleurs shower gel by Yves Rocher to celebrate my little lily of the valley surviving one year and blossoming
Now: Yves Rocher Cuir Vetiver
Congratulations on the little lily of the valley! They’re such a wonderful flower. You smell great!
Thanks, I’m really proud 🙂
Adding my LOTV congrats! It is exciting ????I transplanted some from my MIL’s garden and didn’t think it took, but was happy to find it sprouted. Only one little cluster of flowers, though. And I found that CdG Lily is super close to that smell in a side-by-side ????
Ineke Field Notes From Paris for this beautiful cloudy day. It leans a little bit more masculine than perfumes I usually wear but I still like it, especially in drydown. And it’s a nice bottle (http://www.ineke.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=36).
You smell fantastic Undina!
Thank you, Robin. So do you.
Funny: as I was choosing a scent this morning, I looked directly at my two bottles of Berdoues perfumes (Russkaya Kozha and Assam) and thought: “I wouldn’t mind wearing any of these but “Russkaya” is a stretch for the theme and Assam doesn’t fit at all” (in my defense I should say that the bottles were placed sideways, so I didn’t see the name but constructed it as “Assam & Grapefruit,” which it reminds me a lot). And only later when I read your post I realized that I remembered the name wrong, and perfume actually fits the CP.
But also Assam is a state in India! So you could even ‘stretch’ the idea of Assam & Grapefruit, I guess.
Hey Twin–that’s my scent today!!
Hi Twin! We smell great today, and whatever we’re wearing will smell very nice even after the first laundry 🙂
It’s cooler here today so I can get away with 3 spritzes of 24, Faubourg. So very pretty.
Beautiful perfume. If Harry had invited me to his wedding to Meghan I would have worn that one…lol.
You smell amazing! I love that scent so much
So elegant!
Bob Dylan’s Birthday! Isn’t that a national holiday where you live, Robin?
Going for double points…the lyrics of Bob Dylan’s Union Sundown ( shoes made in Brazil) with Hermes Paprika Brasil
https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=bob+dylan+union+sundown+lyrics&rlz=1C9BKJA_enNZ646NZ646&oq=bob+dylan+union+sundown+lyrics&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3.17800j0j9&hl=en-GB&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8
Furniture not shoes…think I just lost the bonus point
VERY definitely a national holiday, if you count my house as a nation!
Triple points for talking about Bob Dylan, I say.
Bah, I had planned Isfarkand for today but rushed out of the house and forgot to put it on. Of my desk perfumes, the closest to a place is Moondrops, but I went with First instead sorry/not sorry.
LOL!
Comme de G’s Avignon is my SOtD!My favorite incense perfume, with a bub and a bub for the bub…lol…
I need to try Assam of India,it does sound wonderful.
You all smell wonderful today!
I saw CM8 left a comment somewhere..HI!!!
Happy Thursday!
X
It is my favorite incense perfume also. Do you have any other incense scents that you love?
Oh yes,there is quite a list!Lol!
In random order a couple if favorites:
Comme de G’s Man 2
Comme de G’s Incense Jaisalmer
Uncle Serge Fille en Aiguilles(this is a goody…!!!)
Again Uncle Serge L’Orpheline-took me a while to love this one!
Uncle Serge Encens et Lavande, although it is a shapeshifter on my skin.
Encens Flamboyant from Annick Goutal.
Have you smelled any of these?
Great list! Thank you! Jaisalmer is beautiful. It has been in my full bottle list for a while,as well as CdG Man 2. In the meantime I have been enjoying decants. I also love Filles in Anguiles,
Absolutely delicious. Encense and Lavande did not work for me. I have not tried Orpheline or Flamboyant. I need to try those.
Butting in to say, yes, you should try the Encens Flamboyant!
HI ????
Where have you been!We miss you!!????????✌????
Seconding this!
🙂
Life has been crazy 🙁
I third it! Glad to see you here. ????
thanks…nice to pop in….even if it is only once in a while.
Big thumbs up for Encens Flamboyant in your incense frag list!
I should wear it more often,it’s such a wonderful perfume.
Hey, where’s your cute face!?????
Haha!!*Blushing big time*????????♂️☺️
Oh, btw.. I put that french pronunciation link up, back up top if you want to see it.
Thank you! It is very helpful!
I’m wearing a sample of DuPont Circle by Monsillage today. I’ve genuinely enjoyed it each time I’ve worn it, but I rarely see it mentioned anywhere.
I’ve never seen it mentioned! I used to work in Dupont Circle – now I want to try it!
How cool that there is a fragrance named after Dupont Circle! I didn’t even know.
Missed posting yesterday, but I wore La Fille de Berlin. Today’s is Field Notes from Paris. A bit heavy for the weather, but I have always loved this scent and I smell great!!! So do all of you.
La Fille de Berlin was one of a very few perfumes fitting this CP that I remembered without going through the list of my perfumes.
You smelled wonderful both yesterday and today!
Actually on theme today in Havana Vanille. Good thing I under-spritzed, it can be waftily weird, but it works in this cool weather.
Yum! I meant to get to that one this week, maybe tomorrow.
Been a crazy week. Made it late Monday to Alabama after crazy flights and our baggage didn’t make it. Didn’t get it until Tuesday afternoon, but luckily in time for us to shower and get ready for graduation that evening. It was so bittersweet and wonderful! Pictures on my Insta if anyone wants to look!
I wore dabs of vintage Shalimar Parfum de Toilette (thank you, Mals) for the graduation. Very special! Yesterday and today I’ve worn Assam of India…it’s like ice tea on a hot, humid Alabama day!
His graduation dinner is tonight, I have about 20 people coming! I love celebrating my favorite guy! Sad to leave tomorrow but happy to get home too at the same time.
Hope everyone has had a good week. Hugs.
Congrats to your son! Enjoy the dinner tonight!
Hugs back!Enjoy the celebratory dinner!❤️
Congrats to your son!
Congratulations! You should be so proud!
You go, momma! Enjoy this time.
Yay to the graduate and his proud mom! ????
Congrats to you and the grad!
Congrats proud mama!
SOTD = Seville a la’Aube from the sample stash. I decided to retry this after seeing so many people list it as their SOTD this week. I am definitely getting a Creamsicle vibe from this. Or maybe this smells like SweetTarts candy?
Do you like it?
I think that it is probably too sweet for me. It’s a pity, since I can see the outline of something I would really like if it wasn’t on the confectionery side.
I just sniffed Seville a l’Aube. I get orange creamsicle, too. 🙂
And a belated “Hello!” to CM8. Good to see you posting here today!
Hello back !!!!!!
SL La Fille de Berlin for me today. [Sniffs appreciatively. Exhales contentedly.]
Going to see ‘Solo’ tomorrow—yaaaaay! ????
Cool! I’d be interested to hear your take on it.
Ohh, have fun! That’s on my list, too.
I started off in Divine Bergamote completely forgetting that I had actually intended to wear Weekend à Deauville planned. I’ve since added Weekend to Bergamote and they do well together. I thought I didn’t have any perfumes with place names but I’ve realised that I own plenty. Still dithering about which one to choose for tomorrow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfJuvZAyVMc
For a great song about Deauville.
I am surprised how many I have too! And forgot Deauville, good one.
I started out this morning in Theorema, for comfort. My wallet was stolen out of my purse late yesterday, so it’s been a scramble today to cancel the credit cards and . . . well . . . y’all know the drill. ????
I’m now in Cuir Beluga, which is also comforting. Ugh. A pox on those who commit these crimes!
I’m so sorry that happened to you! It’s not just the hassle, but the sheer invasion of having something stolen from you. I’m double poxing the thief for you!
There ya go, why stop at a single pox?!?
Oh no! So sorry it happened to you. It happened to me too (my entire purse) and I was able to get my homeowner’s insurance to cover part of the replacement cost after a low deductible.
I should clarify that it happened to me in 1993, not recently.
Homeowners insurance, now I never gave that a thought. Thanks for the tip – I will look into it!
Oh that sucks so much! I’m gonna triple pox the person with the sticky fingers!
He/she doesn’t stand a chance! ????
Argh, I hate that! So sorry.
SOTD = 28 La Pausa
On theme as it is a place!
Answer to Robin’s question re: seeing a younger crowd, the demographic The Whitney is striving to attract. From my observation, there were more of the target market than not so whatever they’re doing seems to be working. I say anchoring the High Line must have boosted attendance by a younger crowd since one has to be ambulatory and somewhat fit to climb steps and walk.
Regarding the High Line, the tour guide said that last year there were ~ 7.5 million visitors, about half from the US and the rest from elsewhere. Of the US visitors, ~ half were from NY and it’s immediate surroundings. When I asked how they were able to keep track since tgete’s No entrance fee / ticket, she said she had a spreadsheet. I wanted to call her bluff but because I was with very polite company. Anyway, this morning, I was chit-chatting with a colleague who has an advanced degree in Statistics and Data Analysis how many people need to be surveyed for the data to be statistically significant and she said 1,000! Even if the base was 29 million, you only need 1,000! Interesting, no?
Onwards to tomorrow! I’m excited to participate in the CP!
I am confused — I was wondering if the Saks Beauty Floor was getting more young ‘uns!
Wearing a few drops of Timbuktu.
I’m making a big batch of quinoa salad for the weekend. My hubby’s brother invited us over for golf and BBQ. He had a sample of my salad a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it so I will surprise him with his own stash.
It’s kind of nice when someone raves about a dish you make. Almost as good as perfume compliments!
Yay — I still haven’t decided about tomorrow but did mean to get to Timbuktu this week!
