Tom Ford Vanille Fatale ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 28 December 2017 17 Comments

Tom Ford Vanille Fatale

Tom Ford has launched Vanille Fatale, a new fragrance in the Private Blend range.

Impassioned. Transfixing. Defiant.

Vanille Fatale is a force of nature personified. A beguiling tempest that takes over like a rush of blood to the head. The impossible becomes real, too good to be true becomes true. Her – or his – unrelenting hold is fixed, refined yet raw, polished yet primal. The stirring spice of saffron and coriander opens the scent, infiltrating the senses with the gripping incense of myrrh and olibanum.

Reverberating with the tobacco-like pull of roasted barley, the heart of Vanille Fatale is a perfect storm of roasted coffee absolute, narcissus and frangipani that seduces with grounded floralcy.

Madagascan vanilla blends with rich mahogany, its smoky glamour made all the more exotic with primal suede at the finish.

Tom Ford Vanille Fatale is available in 50 ($230) and 250 ($595) ml Eau de Parfum.

“too good to be true becomes true”–We should use that one in a philosophy class!

Yep, the clincher for me was the “primal” suede.

But even before that, the first line about it being a force of nature “personified” is interesting. (Oh, it’s a PERSON. I thought it was a perfume. With an excess of way over the top marketing prose.)

Truly it is a work of art, this blurb.

Probably, although I’m mostly immune to the TF PB series. I will give it a shot though! Roasted coffee is always a plus.

        Agreed, Robin.
I have tried a bunch of the PB and I’m like..they are nice..but for that price tag, I can find similar perfumes, for way less 🙂

Will definitely give it a sniff, although I would never pay that price. I only buy splits of TF scents, normally $125 for 50 mls (if you split the 250ml decanter bottle).

Oh. La. La. Never mind the ridiculous ad copy. That sounds gorgeous!

Sounds good but also sounds ridiculously expensive for what it is. Probably give it a miss. I’m not a big fan of TF.

Does Tom actually still bring out non-Private blend scents? People seem to keep ponying up for his pricier offerings, so maybe no need to.

Yes, but fewer. Last year they did Noir Anthracite.

Primal Suede should be his next one, it would fit right in. Tom Ford passes me by though. I expected to love Santal Blush and Vert Boheme but was relieved to find them meh.

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am ready to pounce on this one. Huge fan of TF fragrances. And, who doesn’t love a good vanilla-esque scent? Can’t wait to try this!!

I believe that this was one of the aborted versions that was produced during the development of what became F***ing Fabulous and they liked enough not to throw it away so decided to release it, which I guess is why it suddenly popped up in stores with no fanfare . In UK it’s a Harrods exclusive for the first 6 weeks, then rolls out to other stores
