Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles (& some other stuff) 2017, part 13

Posted by Robin on 10 September 2017 2 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today's post includes special edition bottles from Giorgio Armani, Carven and Robert Piguet, plus new concentrations of Diptyque Vetyverio, Dolce and Gabbana The One and L'Envol de Cartier.

Giorgio Armani Sì Nacré Edition

From Giorgio Armani, Sì in the Nacré Edition, with the Sì manifesto written on the bottle and box. Leaves a shimmering finish on the skin. In 50 Eau de Parfum at Printemps.

Carven Vetiver 60th Anniversary

Carven celebrates the 60th anniversary of Vétiver with limited edition bottles decorated by London artist Sarah Smart: "This unconditional love finds expression in the image of a small man, perched on a ladder, painting a heart around the Vétiver Carven logo. Each of these 60 bottles is a work of art designed to delight this mythical perfume's most ardent fans. The bottles are individually numbered and each come in a small box, along with a certificate of authenticity. While the bottles have undergone a transformation, the cult fragrance within remains untouched." €100 for 100 ml Eau de Toilette at Carven.

Robert Piguet Fracas 70th anniversary

And Robert Piguet celebrates the 70th anniversary of Fracas: "One of the most celebrated fragrances in the world, Fracas is the iconic tuberose creation of famed couturier Robert Piguet and L'Enfant Terrible of 1940's perfumery, Germaine Cellier. As an homage to its 70th anniversary, the seductive, profoundly memorable scent is presented in a limited edition platinum bottle with a luxury vaporisateur. The mirrored flacon celebrates the true opulence of the 1940s while offering a genuinely glamorous application." $190 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum at Bergdorf Goodman.

Diptyque Vetyverio Eau de Parfum

From Diptyque, Vetyverio in Eau de Parfum: "In the eau de parfum, vetiver from Haiti takes centre stage. Used in an overdose, it reveals itself in a pure state, without artifice, drawing its elegant, smoky nature from this volcanic rock with a fiery temperament." $155 for 75 ml.

Dolce & Gabbana The One Eau de Toilette

Dolce & Gabbana The One in Eau de Toilette: "The One Eau de Toilette is an enchanting, sensual and feminine scent, with a new twist of freshness that magnifies the key note of madonna lily. More vibrantly alive than ever, the floral fragrance was captured in all its nuances by the perfumer Michel Girard, to create a new floral addiction and exalts its sensuality." Available at Macy's in 50 and 100 ml or in a 7.4 ml rollerball.

A new Eau de Toilette concentration of L'Envol de Cartier: "To break away from any known sensations, that is the power of the masculine perfume L'Envol de Cartier. In the footsteps of the Eau de Parfum, the new Eau de Toilette acts like a shot, for an immediate, luminous, airy take off. A magnetic fluid with a cloud of citrus, sap of gaïac wood and honey notes. An active and addictive substance to take off." Available at Macy's in 50 and 80 ml.

The flashy Fracas appeals to my inner magpie, but a bulb atomizer is a terrible options. The alcohol evaporates and the bottle will leak if you tip (or travel with) it.

And 60 bottles of Carven Vetivert? I think I’ll scribble in a bottle myself.

It’s not the most compelling collector bottle list I’ve ever seen. I’d take the Carven though.
