Happy Tuesday! NPR has another list of charities working to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. (Teapot freaks might also want to check out the images from the Texas Teapot Tournament, held every year at the Clay Arts Museum and Education in Houston.) What fragrance are you wearing?
It's another testing day for me. Will I ever catch up? I've started off with a tiny spritz of Amouage Blossom Love.
Reminder: 9/1 we're doing Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit! We're all about rabbits today. Wear a fragrance that will bring you good luck for September, or wear a fragrance that reminds you of rabbits, or wear whatever you picked this morning while saying "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" aloud. Or, refuse to participate in childish, superstitious practices — we'd like to know your scent of the day anyway.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Serax Cement teapot is sold out at Selfridges, but you can find out where to buy one at the Serax website. It runs about €188. It was designed by Frédérick Gautier, and you can read about him at Concrete futures: French artist-designer Frédérick Gautier sets his sights on LA at Wallpaper.
Another charity I read about today is Greater Good – transporting animals out of areas affected by Harvey. https://give.greatergood.org/campaign/hurricane-harvey-animal-rescue/c142955
I am wearing PG25 Indochine today. Not directly related to rabbits but soft and cuddly.
Indochine is a real beauty! You smell fab ????
Nice! I need to pull my bottle out soon.
You smell great!
Best Friends is also on the ground rescuing animals.
Thanks for the animal rescue link.
You smell lovely!
Great choice!!
Thanks for the link!
Thanks for posting the link.
Good morning NST! I have been testing lately and am in the mood for something sprayed with abandon rather than dabbed with caution. SOTD is Chanel No. 19 Poudre.
You smell super!
My positive thoughts and prayers go out to Everyone, Everywhere, coping with difficult situations.
Fabulous Donatella will understand that giving is the most Fabulous Scent.

Triple strength coffee.
Time and tide wait for no man, Koenigsberg reminded me last week.
YSL pour Homme 1971 – lemon, thyme (how apt), vetiver, oakmoss.
Autumnal.
Was @ a Starbucks over the weekend, and someone ordered a pumpkin something-or-other and a tear came to my eye.
LOLOLOL. 😉
Carpe Diem.
Peace.
🙂
Oh no, not the pumpkin latte already! *weeps*
I heard/saw something about how Starbucks was going to be bringing back the Pumpkin Spice stuff earlier this year. So now you have confirmed this.
Pumpkin latte?! Too soon!
I’m working from home today and wafting Tabac Blond extrait. LOVE today’s teapot pic!
I can’t decide if I love that teapot or hate it! I don’t want to drink tea out of it, that’s for sure, but I might want it for some other unknown purpose.
Agree! I’d have to see the inside of it before I’d actually use it as a teapot. 🙂
If you go to the website, you can see the matching plates / trays are glazed on the inside. I’m assuming the teapot is as well (?)
Cool and rainy today. I’m in a bit of Numero 5 edp which happens to be the most enjoyable part of this Tuesday’s routine meeting. They did bring in cupcakes and other sweets to welcome some new staff and I’m trying to resist since nothing good ever comes of a sugar binge before proper food. I keep learning that over and over again.
No. 5 is an excellent antidote for a routine meeting.
I try to avoid sweets before 12 noon or after 8 pm. It helps me feel better all day and sleep better at night.
It is a lovely protective cloud. I relegate sweets to later night since I crash from sugar about an hour later.
DC’s third and tallest corpse flower is wide open today!
https://www.usbg.gov/three-corpse-flower-blooms-usbg
I went last night when it was about half open and got to smell it. It smells like the unpleasant side of cooked (or maybe rotten) cabbage, brussels sprouts, and garlic; or maybe like the dankest farts. Which makes sense because, as the staff explained, the scent is composed of sulfur compounds.
The nose does adapt and cease to notice it (at least at the levels it had reached last night). Whenever I reentered after visiting one of the other rooms for awhile, I could smell it again. Although it didn’t smell as bad as a dead animal while I was there, there was something deeply disturbing about the smell.
Many people were saying it wasn’t as bad as they had expected. I think it may get worse during the night. I’ve certainly seen people reacting more unfavorably in videos from other sites.
I’m planning to go back this afternoon to see it again in natural light. There were no lines last night, and I’m hoping lines won’t be long today because of the rainy weather and so many people being out of town at this time of year.
Cool – I just texted my son in DC and asked him to go see it for me!
He went! And found it quite interesting, but no strong scent. Did it dissipate shortly after blooming maybe?
That is soooo cool! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the link, watching the people at the garden is as interesting as the titan arum itself.
How weird and wonderful, thank you for sharing this.
Just watched the live stream, and a few previous time lapse blooms from other flowers. what a strange life cycle, the blooms I saw were not even very expansive.
http://www.compoundchem.com/2017/06/27/titanarum/
Interesting!
So funny to watch people wave at their friends on the livestream while talking on the phone!
Thanks for the reminder and the link! I’ll text my son and ask him if he’s interested in going to see it.
🙂
My son went. We could have had them meet up!
It’s been fun reading your posts and updates about the corpse flower. I’d like to see one eventually, but not sure I could talk Mr. Jalapeno into it. I also got a good laugh about “dankest farts”. That brought to mind some of Hajusuuri’s commuting horror stories.
I should probably live stream one of my commutes 🙂
Good for you!!!
SOTD Smoked Ambergris by Smell Bent. Me likely! Makes me feel somewhat liturgical.
Thank you for linking ways to help! And that teapot! Straight out of Wilma Flintstones kitchen cabinet ????
Funny about that teapot! I like it better when I think of it as being prehistoric than when I think of it as being modern post-industrial.
(Okay, that was weird. I thought the anti-spam ate my comment.)
I got rid of the duplicate. I don’t even understand how the stupid antispam works. It might hold comments and then put them back.
My brain turned the first sentence into ” I smoked ambergris”
Ha! A new psychadelic? I’m sure *someone* out there’s tried it.
I totally LOL’ed at “I smoked ambergris”. Thanks for the humor break.
Tibetan Mountain Temple
and now, BFMV….
just goes to show you how many acronyms there are out there….
I’m pretty sure you mean Black Flower Mexican Vanilla perfume, and not Bullet For My Valentine perfume?
Unless you are really going in an entirely new direction 🙂
LOL! yes the former NOT the latter 🙂
Love that one! You smell great!
thank you !!!
Waving hi Scent twin! We smell cozy. I love Tibetan Mountain Temple! Tried to share the experience with my daughters and they all said a version of ‘wow too strong’ ( only 1 spritz!) and ‘ok smell but I don’t want to smell like chai.’ :/ oh well some of us get wanting to wear it I guess. 😉
Happy falling day to you all!
Hi twin! We smell great 🙂
I am hoping that this one does NOT get discontinued as so many of the ones I love from Pacifica are now gone 🙁
Wring one of my softest, fuzziest scents for bunny week – Ombre Rose by Jean-Charles Brosseau.
Nice!
SOTD is Parfumerie Generale “PG14 Iris Oriental”.
Notes are fig honey, iris, vanilla, cardamom, olibanum and woody notes.
I thought it smelt of chocolate when I put it on first – I guess it’s a misreading of the fig and honey, somehow. It’s nice, but really struggles to last on my skin today as I’m working in a sweltering hot room.
Matching rabbit for this perfume: the Moon Goddess’s jade rabbit, pounding the ingredients of the elixir of life.
Have you seen Wallace and Gromit Attack of the Wererabbit? Looking forwrd to that perfume match.
Hahaha! I love Wallace and Gromit. Hmmmm.. a perfume match…
Feeling good and sending out positive energy in Rag & Bones Encens.
Yay, I need positive energy! How are those R&B scents, anyway? Boy they do not get many mentions here.
How is it? I was curious about the Rag and Bone line.
I am going for a garden theme this week, since I don’t have the imagination to figure out rabbit related scents. Anyway yesterday was Jardins de Bagatelle, today is Celebrity Garden Party from Smell Bent. Very mimosa (the drink, not the flower).
That’s a lovely take on the theme! I should do “my backyard” since it is always full of bunnehs.
Dang, and I’d been trying to resist Celebrity Garden Party. I have such a fondness for the concept of mimosas-on-the-lawn. (College. UVa. 1980s. Yuppies and big hairbows and Laura Ashley print dresses. Terribly cliche.)
I had a few of those bows.
Oh yeah. And a Laura Ashley dress. Well mine was solid red, but still, big puffy sleeves. Loved that dress 🙂
I loved the puffy sleeves too, and the basque waists.
Did you wear it witb white or black tights and ballet flats? ????
I had Laura Ashley dresses I loved that my boyfriend (now husband) hated. Including a pinafore that I immediately stopped wearing because a stranger assumed I was pregnant….
Loved the look too. I had the ballet flats and white tights also. And the long hair tied back with a bow. 🙂 The pictures look a little like we were channeling the Russian Princess.
I quit wearing them when one of my children said it looked a little ‘twee’. ( young girls clothes).
🙂
Wearing Dame Perfumery’s Black Flower Mexican Vanilla (perfume oil version) and absolutely loving it. Dark, smoldering vanilla. Odd how I find it to be both comforting and dead sexy.
I love that one too although we have the EDP spray in my house…(two of them , actually!) I might just top myself off with that one now…then we will be scent twins 🙂
It’s good stuff. I would’ve got the edp but the company only makes the oil version available for shipment overseas. I’m in Paris and very content with this version!
I am sure that it is equally as good 🙂
I have Chocolate Man and Musk Man in the oil version and love them both. I also recommend Dark Horse which comes in oil format as well.
I have both Mexican Vanilla and Dark Horse in oil form and prefer Dark Horse most of the time…but both are good.
I wonder if my BIL might like this on my sister… apparently if she wears something vanilla, he is wont to say things like, “Ooh, sexy cake!”
Ha! ????
I bet he would…you could always get her a travel spray for next to nil just to test it out on him 🙂
Went with Caron Third Rabbit.. Man! I mean man. Making a cup of tea and getting ready to do work stuff. Streets still dry (ish). I”m thankful for that, since the rain was almost constant yesterday. Heard a few helicopters pass overhead this morning, heading west.
Hey sweetgrass! So that drug store with the 1/2 price Berdoues has 2 Arz El Rab left. They’re 50% off 59.99. Email me if you’re interested. I’m sure this isn’t the b st time to ship things to TX but happy to hold it.
Pretsky 35 in the land o’ hot mail
Awesome, thanks! Just sent you an email.
Holy cow that is cheap!!! What else do they have ? wait..maybe DON’T TELL ME-LOL!
Yeah, 30 bucks is a steal for 100ml of anything these days. I think they had Vanira M, the Brasil one, and Assam. Looks like Assam had the most left. Only a couple left of each. But you didn’t hear it from me, lol!
Welp the only one I don’t have from the ones you mentioned is Selvo di Brazil…..sitting on my hands to not send someone to get it for me ….don’t need another FB!!!! although that price is AMAZING!!!!
Should I talk you into it or out of it? I can argue both sides, I think (I’m a Gemini).
definitely OUT of it..because part of me wants it only for the bottle…and I can leave it up to fate and assume that one day it will show up heavily discounted on fragrancenet…..one day when I actually need more perfume-LOL!
Found my bottle of JM Vetyver so I could compare it to Phlur’s Greylocke (which I could still detect on my skin this morning – great longevity!). The JM has definitely gone off a bit in it’s old age. Its vetiver is softer and the overall effect is much quieter than Greylocke’s – to be expected with any JM. It will probably be undetectable by lunch. I was hoping the JM, of which I own a good 20 mls still, would satisfy my newly-minted vetiver needs and dispel any desire to own a FB of Greylocke. I’m beginning to have doubts.
Yes, Greylocke lasts forever (even on my scent eating skin) and it is STILL on my bathrobe from a few days ago. I really like it, and I am not a huge fan of vetiver…but this one pushes all the right buttons on me…definitely full bottle worthy…most definitely…..plus it is 20 dollars off with the sampler purchase…so that is practically free 🙂
and you know there is something in Greylocke that makes it chewy and almost gourmandish for me which is why I find it addictive…maybe the apple note? do you feel that way as well?
Honestly, I couldn’t say yet after only one day of wear. I’ll be on the hunt for it’s gourmand qualities tomorrow!
maybe gourmand is the wrong word but there is something mouth watering about it…what’s that word? unami? it has this savory chewy quality to it that I am really loving…
Thank you for the link for donations in Houston. I am not at home now since I have been up north visiting my mom. The situation there is just terrible. I have friends who have no power, no water, or sewage backing up, one friend rescued a lot of elderly people in his boat, of course many people are flooded. Reports from my house are that it has some roof leaks but is not flooded and the cats are OK.
Please also consider donating to this fine group I have volunteered for, Friends for Life. They have a big setup downtown at the convention centre with dog and cat food, beds for animals, a veterinary team, and more. It’s a huge comfort to people when they can have their pets with them there and get help for them. Many pets too are very stressed out. They have also been drenched and swum through high water or been rescued even in dump trucks. One donor will match all donations up to $15,000 now. This money goes straight to the animals in need.
http://www.friends4life.org/how-to-help/donate/
Thank you for this link. Its all so sad. And, it brings back horrible Katrina memories of people/pets being stranded.
My prayers continue to go out to the people of Houston and surrounding areas.
Wonderful! Thanks a lot for the link calypso!
Thank you! And glad your house & cats are ok.
Thank you for the link Calypso! Glad to hear your ok and so many are helping folks stuck there.
Glad to hear that your house & cats are OK.
Glad you, kitties, and your home are safe!
Thanks for recommending this link — I’m pleased to help out.
Hi NST family!
Time for me to check out, as I will be leaving on summer holidays tomorrow. I’m looking forward to spending 2 weeks in Italy.
SotD was Van Cleef & Arpels Bois d’Iris. I love it so much.
Before I get to Milan I will be 8 hours in transit, need a good SotD. Any suggestions for a good bus ride & a flight? Was thinking Hermes Le Jardin de Monsieur Li.
I like your choice. Le Jardin de Monsieur Li is lovely and stays close to the skin. An interesting scent to travel with, and it’s unlikely to bother people around you. However, I don’t think it will last 8 hours.
Enjoy your vacation!
Oh boy! this was for Lucasai!
Have a wonderful trip !!
Enjoy the trip!
Enjoy your vacation!
Have a great time!
Maybe something cologne? To keep you feeling fresh . Have a nice trip
Happy vacation Lucasi!
Enjoy your vacation Lucasai! Look forward to hearing about your travels when you return home.
Probably too late for you to see this, but safe travels!
Have a good and safe Holiday, Lucasai!
Say Ciao to all my Napolitano relatives while you are in Italy!
Cheers!
😉
This should be a reply to Lucasai, above.
Grazie
Wearing Chene, which I thought was rabbit-y because pet rabbits . . . live in cages with cedar shavings? Possibly I was thinking of hamsters. Anyway, I had a small sample of Chene several years back and loved it, but this new decant smells harsher and less complex to me. Glad I sampled again before buying a fb.
Shame about Chene, then. I liked my (older) sample, too.
The drydown is more in line with what I remembered, so maybe my own taste changed more than Chene, as I am still not loving it. Plus, it’s making me a bit sneezy. Money saved . . .
Or, maybe it is a decant from an even older bottle and the top notes have degraded?? I worry about making decisions based on decants. That said, the new bottles are reportedly not as good as the old.
Since it is cold and cloudy today No 22 seemed like a perfect choice.
Lovely!
very nice choice 🙂
Lovely! I went back and forth between no 5 and no 22 and decided no 5 matched the weather better for me.
You smell lovely too!
By nature, and maybe some karma, I am not a lucky person. I have, however been fortunate enough to have had very good people come and go in my life. I’m dedicating rabbit week to NST people. I’m wearing Cristalle today for the generosity I have been shown. I appreciate you all so much.
What a lovely sentiment! We appreciate you too, lillyjo.
I ponder the influence of luck sometimes. Luck is not a big factor in my life, either; I get where I go by hard work, and by putting one foot in front of the other when a tough patch comes along. My brother, on the other hand, is endlessly lucky. If there’s a door prize, he’ll win it. If someone can get him out of the jam he’s gotten himself into, it’ll happen. Relying on luck works for him, but for the folks around him: not so much. Seems to me that luck is overrated.
Hope you enjoy your day 🙂
I have a brother like that too. For me, the old saying is true: the harder I work the luckier I get. 😉
Indeed.
For me, it’s not lack of luck, I really seem to have bad luck. To the point where people my actually comment on it. I have definitely been blessed in many ways, I just never take for granted that even the simplest of things will go as planned.
NST people are wonderful. We are so fortunate to have this place to share.
You smell great lillyjo!
I purchased the shower gel of Cristalle (was feeling extravagant that day) and have a bit of EDT remaining.
Evokes Spring and new beginnings for me.
Cheers!
🙂
Right back at ya Bear!
you smell marvelous lillyjo! I have really come to appreciate Cristalle, after not liking it AFS (at first spritz)
Cristalle is good stuff!
What a nice thing to say! Ditto!
You smell beautiful today lillyjo! We’re the lucky ones!! ????
I do hope it’s a better day for many that have been affected by Harvey. As a doer I wish I could be there to help in some way.
I’ve got Bottega Veneta original on one arm and the new Eau de Velours on the other. The opening of Velours has a juicy plum note that’s very nice, and rose vs. the jasmine of the original, but overall they both smell pretty much the same after some time; the patch and leather both reign ultimately. Would love to see a review of this new one on NST!
Thanks for your comments, looking forward to this one!
Just my unsolicited review of the original.
YMMV
Smells like singed hair. I fiddle with lit candles to make them burn evenly, and when the hairs on wrist singe………..Voila !
Bottega Veneta EDP.
😉
I’m sure it smells lovely on you, floragal!
😀
Ha! You have some great smelling singed arm hair ????
Right! ☺️
Oh, no! If that’s what it smells like to you, run!
I can’t do BV original either tho I tried hard as the idea and the bottle and the ad all really appealed to me…
I was curious about that. Thanks for your impressions.
Angie is planning to review it, I think!
Partial scent twin with the original BV.
Tomorrow I’m breaking out my new bottle of Martin Margiela “A Promenade in the Gardens” for our travel from the north east of Scotland to Houston…actually this morning we rescheduled to go via Amsterdam/Minneapolis/Dallas instead of the originally planned Aberdeen/Paris/Houston as the other option was to cancel completely 7 lose out financially. Our wonderful host, who is not at work all week due to what’s happening over there, suggested yesterday when we spoke that we try to get to Dallas & he would pick up up, bless him! So he will have to drive the 230 or so miles from their home north of Houston to DFW airport, pick us up, then pretty much turn around & drive straight back. Thankfully our friends’ location has not been adversely affected at all, & everything planned for this visit is in the local area or even further north. From the news footage we’re getting here the situation in the greater Houston area is dire, & it looks like Louisiana is in for it next.
Do have a good trip, and hope you manage to salvage some of your original plans!
Thank you, Robin, I’m sure we’ll have our usual fab time. My apologies for posting twice – no idea what happened – my mind was on packing, no doubt!

Safe travels! Hope you have a good time and thumbs up to your host. I love the sound of your perfume.
Thank you.
Good luck in the trip! Your host is a trooper.
Don’t remember which one was Flower Market and which was Promenade in the Garden, but I liked both.
Thank you. Believe I received a sample of Flower Market when I bought Promenade – liked them both too.
I’m wearing Lili Bermuda Coral today. I’m still going through my sampler kit. I am not liking this one so much. It kind of has that “Dawn” dishwashing liquid vibe to it.
🙁
Yikes!
I’m working on wearing all the summer scents I’ve neglected so far this year. Of course we still have at least 6 weeks of summer left here in NorCal so it’s not a rush to get thru this project 🙂 SOTD is Auphorie Regal Secret. I smell tropical fruity (pineapple!) in a very fun way.
this is a great choice. I am a big fan of this house.
On the road in St. John, New Brunswick. Brought a decant of JM Incense & Cedrat so I’ll be in that all week.
Enjoy!
in French Kiss today. For no particular reason, other than I was decanting it yesterday and the bottle was within reach 🙂
SotD = Assam of India for warm weather on teapot Tuesday
Hope everyone is safe, receiving/giving the help you need/can share.
Our weather has turned the corner into fall (yay!) I love the feeling of the air outside. SOTD is lovely Cuir de Lancome.
Heard from a college roomie who lives near Houston, and she is fine. Minor flooding in her area, but her house is dry and her family is safe.
Gaze started classes yesterday and even called me yesterday to discuss choosing textbooks at the university bookstore vs via Amazon or renting. I was surprised to hear from him so soon – I thought he’d still be settling in to the new class schedule, but apparently he had enough time before regimental band practice to call. This is a picture of him in last Friday’s commando-crawl race, from the Commandant’s Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/CVTCC/photos/a.1665619893449243.1073742406.240008549343725/1665621076782458/?type=3&theater
(Link will first pop up the entire album, but wait a sec and it will show you one individual photo.)
There’s something special about the change of seasons,eh? Sounds like Gaze is doing well…and looking smart too.
Oh, I love fall so much.
I figured Gaze would be just fine in that quasi-military-school situation, and so far he is.
Thanks for sharing this photo!
I’m so proud. 🙂
Go for amazon and rent…I think college students get free amazon prime for six months which means their books are guaranteed delivery in 2 or 3 days…..and I think free shipping….you just have to make sure that you mail the books back in time!
We checked each title individually – two books were about the same price in either spot (but he’d have to wait 14 days for them to show up via Amazon since they’re not in current production), and one was available used-very-good on Amazon at 30% of the bookstore price.
Rental would make sense for classes outside the major, I think, but these were for classes in his area of study so he expects to use them again.
It is always good to check and do price comparisions…sounds like you and Gaze have this under control 🙂
Looks intense! At least from the photo.
Oh yeah! Well, that was during “New Cadet Week,” which is five days of Boot Camp Lite (or, as Gaze put it, Angry Band Camp). That pic was taken during a race between companies.
Mitsouko for a gray, cool, rainy day that seems to be fall rather than summer. Every year when I come back to Mitsouko I have mixed feelings. I have always had a like(not love)-hate relationship with it no matter the version, reformulation, or if it is vintage. This morning after having 2 sprays the top notes were amazing. One hour later I was regretting badly to be wearing it. Now 7 hours later, I am enjoying it greatly. I do not know if someday I will understand it. So many times I have been ready to get rid of it, but…..
I have that same relationship with Mitsouko which is why my 5ml decant may last a lifetime. Sometimes I think it’s stunning, and other times it’s all wrong.
Hermes Rhubarb today for no reason other than it’s still hot here and rhubarb is such a cool smell. Rabbits would eat rhubarb leaves, wouldn’t they?
Our Red Cross is stretched thin–15 wildfires across the state plus the need for volunteers in Houston. I’ll check with my district supervisor about where I’m needed most.
Our rabbits eat ANYTHING. Except luckily they don’t seem to like arugula, so they leave that for me 🙂
I am in Lalique’s Rose Royale 1935 today.
It reminds me of my grandmother. Not sure if it was a perfume she wore, her house or what but it is evocative of her and thus comforting to me.
The more I think about it…there might be some 1980s Aqua Net accord… ????
Ha!
Inspired by Victoria’s article yesterday (Bois de Jasmin), I’m wearing Carnal Flower. It’s going to be a hot day, so this should hold up well. I walked to work this morning and the humidity was 77% ugh.
Also, I think I’m participating in the community project by default because of my username. ????
LOL! I thought about wearing Carnal Flower!
No. 5 Eau Premiere for me today from a decant I made off my sister’s bottle. She let me take some because she vastly prefers the original and has a big bottle of that. No. 5 has never done much for me, so I decided to try the flanker. I’m liking it better after an hour than at first. It has seemed to get stronger and less powdery.
You smell terrific. That’s the one Chanel that I pick up and whiff whenever I’m near one of their counters.
I’m quite impressed by the lasting power off two spritzes. I was always (am) a No. 19 gal, although I also wore No. 22 briefly about 30 or more years ago. Never No. 5, oddly enough.
You may really enjoy the new no 5 L’Eau. Much less powdery, very nice.
The very first leaves on our maple trees have begun to unfurl. They are tiny, like bright apple-green bird claws at this stage. It always seems like a special time of year…all this new growth that creeps up around you, and only happens once a year. It must be pretty cool to be a tree. It’s still early – the morepork (owl) is outside and I’ll head off with the dogs when the sun rises. Just sprayed Philosophy Celebrate Grace which was a gift…a floral musk with a mix of generic flowers but pretty. Hope all the rain, wind, smoke and traffic goes easy on everyone today.
I like some of the Philosophy scents…i used to wear Inner Grace, Pure Grace and Falling in Love…
They are easy to wear. I have Fresh Cream . Not for the PAMs though.
OH YEAH! forgot I also have a large sample of Fresh Cream! that is good for layering….
Lonesome Rider on this overcast day for me! The scent of a rabbit rabbit rabbit roasting on a spit over a fire pit, perhaps. Oh dear.
Inspired by ChocolateMarzipan8, I’ve started turning all the herbs and flowers in my balcony garden into body products! Infused oils and salt scrubs are all I’ve made so far. Now I’ve got piles of jars and salts and oils and bottles and cute little tags, and really shockingly few friends who like froofy body products. I’m thinking of opening up an Etsy shop to sell them. I’ve been thinking up overwrought copy for days. Right now, I’ve got hand-mixed, lovingly grown, and hyper-locally sourced (about 10 feet from where I sleep). Any other ideas?
Hand-Picked by virgins at dawn?
I’m trying to keep it truthful 🙂 hand-picked sounds good though! (Is it hand-picked if I used scissors?)
Organic, nonGMO, gluten and cruelty free, vegan, limited edition, (very) small batch, specially macerated during the solar eclipse for added healing benefits…
Yes, or you can say “hand-clipped”?
(I never really got the “hand-dipped” catch for ice cream places. What are the other options, really?)
I LOVE your suggestions!! The solar eclipse thing is extra fun. I’ve been looking through Etsy at similar products to figure out pricing for my products, and I’m shocked at the number of crystal-infused oils. Do you think they actually bothered sticking an amethyst crystal in there, or do you think they are just claiming to? Anyway, the question is how to attract the people who like that kind of silliness without alienating everyone else 🙂
Honestly, I was just joking, but I guess if you put a happy face emoji at the end of all your claims, people can take that any way they want. I’m thinking part serious-the products are nice and are handmade, cruelty free etc., and part tongue and cheek with regards to kooky claims. I, personally appreciate that kind of humor so I’d be your target customer!
Also, probably doesn’t really matter if they put the crystal in or not? I doubt that crystals are oil soluble unless it’s been sitting in there for centuries or something so you’re probably just buying oil either way.
What exactly did you make?
I’ve made infused oils of basil, thyme, cilantro, rosemary, kieffer lime leaves and blossoms, and tomato leaves, and plan to do mint soon. I’ve made herbed salt combos of the same. I’ve also bought rose and amber oils to add in. I’m doing mixtures that I think sound nice (basil and lime, rose and rosemary, mint and vanilla, etc.). I will also soon make a coffee scrub, which I’ve made and enjoyed in the past!
Wow! Impressive!
I totally agree that oil pre and post amethyst will be exactly the same (unless the amethyst wasn’t clean). That’s why I wonder if they bother staying true to their claims! I could just claim my oils were crystal infused without actually doing anything; who would EVER know?
Also, whenever I see food products that proclaim their handmadeness, all I can think is that I very much hope they were wearing gloves.
When Chock Full O’Nuts had physical locations, one bit of advertising claimed that their food was never touched by human hands. This led to much speculation among my friends as to who or what was making the sandwiches and the donuts.
That is a blast from my past…I used to visit the Chock Full O Nuts in Manhattan…in the garment district.
Lol!
Oh, and if you make sugar scrubs instead of salt, it won’t sting after your customers shave their legs.
I hadn’t thought of that. I went with salt instead of sugar because a friend said sugar scrubs had attracted ants to her bathroom. Perhaps I will make both sugar AND salt scrubs!
YOU GO GIRL!!!!
SOTD is Rodin Bis…a jasmine based fragrance.
YUM.
Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey (getting close to finishing off sample 1 of 2. One spray a day doesn’t burn through the ml, lol!
My Argon Oil hair spray is fairly heavily fragranced, and I like it.
Gave to the Houston Humane Society today, and planning to post a box of diapers & wipes to the Texas Diaper Bank. I just can’t imagine.
SOTD is Alaïa.
Was alerted last evening by the next-door neighbor to the fact there were javelina in my front yard (i.e., for a viewing opportunity). Went out to look at them up close as they meandered around munching on the agave. Some of them were hidden from view around the corner of the house and by the increasing darkness, so it wasn’t until they all finally wandered off that you could see that there were at least 8 of them, including 3 little babies! Awesome.
You have some of the most amazing critter viewing in your yard ever!
Fantastic. And did you see they have scent glands below their eyes – you’d think it would make their eyes water?
Wow. Had to look those up. The adults look a little menacing and prehistoric but the babies are super cute.
Another hot day here, stuffy and sweaty. But clouds and rain are on their way to chase the heat away.
SotD Eau de narcisse bleu, Hermès.
I thought that today’s picture was for some kind of really cool birdhouse until I read the caption. I’ve briefly postponed Patchouli week for a comfort scent… the gloomy weather kind of called for it. Plus I noticed some leaves starting to change color in my neighborhood this morning. So SOTD = Bottega Veneta EdP. It called out to me, and what kind of perfume enthusiast ignores that?
You always have to go with what calls your name.
Nope, can’t ignore.
Thinking of everyonewho is wrestling with Harvey and its after affects. The pictures we are seeing here are horrific 🙁
Super cold this week in South Australia so have been wearing warm bracing scents like Cuir de Russie EdP, Coromandel EdP and today Five O’Clock Gingembre. Rabbits like to be warm right?
Also received some STC samples this week and am head over heels for Bogue MEM and have been wearing it every night Already plotting to acquire a FB for Xmas. Lavender, warm spices, tobacco and black tea… ohhhh myyyyyyy *sighs happily*
And I was just looking at pictures of the flooding in India & Bangladesh. Wow.
🙁 Horrific
SOTD = Prada Infusion de Vetiver
I like, a lot! FBW at a discount 🙂 I used up the entire sample atomizer which had .5 ml of juice. Dosage was just right and lasted the whole day!
Thanks for your condolences. I promise to be on my best behavior at the memorial service this Saturday.
My condolences to you hajusuuri on the loss of your loved one.
————————-
I took an “internet sabbatical” for the past few days.
Thanks, Bear!
I’m so sorry for the loss of your uncle, hajusuuri. Take care, dear.
hi hajusuuri, so very sorry to hear about your uncle. And the facebook thing, just ugh, I just don’t understand people sometimes.
I hope there is a fragrance you associate with your father or your uncle you can rely on for comfort.
Infusion de Vetiver is a good one. I like all of Les Infusions I’ve tried. Found a tester of the mimosa last week and it was very pretty.
I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts on Saturday.
I’m so sorry, hajusuuri. My condolences.
My condolences on your uncle’s passing, hajusuuri. Wishing you comfort and peace.
I sympathize with the added pain caused by the FB situation. (There was some similar FB drama for me when my friend passed away last year.) It was certainly not handled correctly, imo, and I’m sorry for those in your family who were affected by it.
The sun shone this afternoon in Houston for the first time since last Thursday. Hubby and pupster and I are fine.
Our house didn’t take on water and only lost power for an hour an a half, and this evening, I was privileged to make a hot meal in my own kitchen. For this I am grateful. My heart hurts for those in my city who have lost so much.
so glad to hear you’re ok!
Thanks, tiffanie!
Very relieved to see you post here!!
Me too, Jalapeno!
Glad to know you are all fine!
Thanks, perfumelover67!
Sunshine! So glad you were so little affected.
It was so lovely. You have no idea.
