Posted by Robin on 21 August 2017 27 Comments

Jo Malone Green Almond & Redcurrant

Jo Malone's holiday limited edition fragrance for 2017 will be Green Almond & Redcurrant, due to launch in September (2016 was Orange Bitters, which will also return this year).

Green Almond & Redcurrant is a gourmand cologne; additional notes include tonka bean and cedar.

Jo Malone Green Almond & Redcurrant will be available in 100 ml Cologne and in a matching candle.

You beat me to it! haha! I will seek this out, too. I’ll try just about anything with almond and tonka listed as notes!

It truly does sound delightful, doesn’t it?

Indeed! I’m imagining a tangy fruit and nuts opening from the redcurrant and almond, and a nice creamy woody base. Seems reality hardly ever lives up to expectations with these new releases, but one can hope!

I didn’t think bottles mattered to me, but I would never ever buy that bottle of perfume.

Ugh, indeed. I don’t love any Jo Malones that I’ve tried but at least the regular bottles are simple and elegant.

They should have considered another color on the label, maybe. I do love opaque bottles but this one looks like shampoo.

I think I read somewhere in my web-surfing of Millennial Pink that pink+kelly green is the next big thing, or at least the next phase of the pink craze.

Yes, a cross between Pepto Bismol and those Lilli Bermuda shops. Ech.

And yeah, Orange Bitters. Those who missed this last year should run, not walk to the nearest Jo Malone counter if it continues to be limited addition.

Thanks for reminding me that I have not sampled that one yet. I wonder , however, if they are bringing it back by popular demand might it end up in the regular line up one day?

I’ll definitely want to give this a sniff, I’ve only found one JM full bottle worthy, Rosewater and Vanilla, also a gourmand. My first thought seeing the bottle was Lily Pulitzer. I hadn’t heard about millineal pink, interesting.

Ede97005 shared a fantastic article that explains Millennial Pink. I believe the link is in the comments on the “new perfume” article for the new Parfums de Rosine fragrance. I would re-link but I haven’t quite figured that out yet!

Ah thank you, I found it. I am not of said generation, may be why I am out of the know. This color reminds me of when I worked as a home care aide and a client who had the most amazing vintage pink appliances. They were an anniversary gift from her husband in the 50’s. What’s old is new again, trends recycle.

Thanks for linking me Robin! Is it OK to put the link to the post here? Might be helpful to readers: http://www.disneyrollergirl.net/jo-malone-christmas-2017/

I was wondering if JML might do the bottle in the regular design as well. I’m going to ask them…

Those notes sound unappealing to me to begin with, but that bottle makes it even less attractive ….i get a plastic Barbie toy vibe from it.

I was tempted once to buy a Jo Malone or a sample set. But no. They lasted like 3 seconds. And then I looked at the price tag…..oh and I also got fed up with their SA.

Update: It won’t be available in the regular bottle. I love the pink though and I love the fragrance. Orange Bitters is sublime too.
