Jo Malone English Oak ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 21 July 2017 13 Comments

Jo Malone English Oak

Jo Malone will launch the English Oak collection in September. The two fragrances, English Oak & Hazelnut and English Oak & Redcurrant, were developed by perfumer Yann Vasnier, who notes...

In perfumery, you often find sandalwood and cedarwood, but oak is something unique. Oak exists as an ingredient, but for this project, we created an exclusive variant of the wood, a roasted oak, which has an addictive quality and sweetness.

English Oak & Hazelnut ~ with green hazelnut, cedar, vetiver, amber and roasted oak. Available in 30 and 100 ml Cologne.

English Oak & Redcurrant ~ with redcurrant, pink pepper, mandarin, rose and roasted oak. Available in 30 and 100 ml Cologne and in matching bath, body and home products.

Can’t wait to try these. If they aren’t limited, it’s very likely they will discontinue some existing fragrances. Some SAs know those plans.

The Nutmeg and Ginger is gone…you can’t order it online anymore.

I’d heard about N&G. I have the oil. You could probably create something similar with your oil blending skills.

I’m looking forward to sniffing these two — especially the first one, whose note list is evoking associations with Vétiver Tonka.

But I’m enough of a “Jo ho” to sniff just about any scent JM introduces!

JM is discontinuing Nutmeg & Ginger (the first JM fragrance) and White Jasmine & Mint to make room for these two. It’s a shame they would discontinue the first fragrance; it’s analogous to Lauder discontinuing Youth Dew.

Oh no! That *is* a shame. Nutmeg & Ginger is a JM classic.

Exactly. I have hoarded 6 100ml bottles already. Jo Malone herself created the scent as a thank you gift to her first clients.
