Hey, it's Hump Day! It's also World Hypertension Day, so do watch that blood pressure. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm wearing the slightly green and very "first days of spring" La Chasse aux Papillons by L'Artisan Parfumeur.
Reminder: 5/19 will be Huesday on Friday, episode 2...wear a fragrance inspired by Pantone's Color of the Year for 2017, Greenery. You do not have to wear a green fragrance — be as creative as you like with the theme! "Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate." (Huesday was originally suggested by TheGoddessRena and Olenska, and you can see episode 1 here.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: top image is Tilia americana - American Basswood leaves and flowers by Virens (Latin for greening) at flickr; some rights reserved.
Wearing Malle’s L’Eau d’Hiver body milk and EDP in celebration of the first spring-like day this month.
There is a body milk??? Oh my! I tried this for the first time two weeks ago and it was instant love. You smell divine.
There is a body milk!!
Originally, I had hoped for a body butter as the texture of the POAL and Carnal Flower body butter is amazing, but I now think the milk is the perfect format for the scent.
The body milk smells just like the EDP, and lasts forever. I highly recommend it.
OOO! thanks for the info! and I am sure it is much more affordable than the EDP 🙂
Wearing L’Artisan Seville a l’Aube, one of my favorites, just because. 🙂
That’s what I wore to bed last night. So pretty.
Who needs a reason?
Definitely one of my desert island scents, you smell wonderful.
You smell great!
|’m in deep green: Ormonde Woman, which I haven’t worn in ages. Such a wonderful and unique scent.
I love your choice of image for today and your choice of fragrance. I got me a solid of La Chasse a few weeks ago. It was dirt cheap, and it’s lovely.
You smell amazing. I love that one, but am sadly out of it.
Glad to hear the solid is nice, have never tried it. (and such a pretty compact)
Today’s image is very calming. I like it.
Robin, you smell great.
I’m in Iris Nazarena today – very liberally sprayed. I finished up one of the travel set vials this morning. You know when you see you only have a little left and think – why not – and just keep spraying all over until it’s done? That’s what I did.
Excellent attitude 🙂
Calm is good 🙂
And so is Iris Nazarena.
You smell lovely. Boldly spraying the last vestiges of a perfume is a great idea. It’s a variation on going through all the samples, but you know you will like what you end up wearing.
Wearing Guerlain Vetiver (TriesToBeClassy reminded me about it on Monday). 🙂
Beautiful!
Rochas Femme. Bordeaux velvet to my mind’s “eye”, not green, but wonderul on a rainy Fall day, anyway.
For some reason I think of orange? But either way, not green 🙂
Me too, and apricots for some inexplicable reason.
I’m wearing Balmain Ivoire, the modern version. I brought the bottle in to work this morning since I wasn’t using it at home.
Oh, that’s a good idea. It’s a lovely scent, and I don’t wear mine enough either.
Something old….something new…..
On right arm is Safari…..not sure what concentration as the sample does not say…the last time I wore this was in the early 1990s…I had drained the second of my parfum bottle (never wore the EDT)….the drydown of this one is extraordinarily sublime and transports me back to another time, another place. For this reason alone I am not sure I would be seeking out a full bottle in the future but I am enjoying its breathtaking beauty right at this moment.
On my left arm is SSS Pacific Forest…dumped 2/3 of what was left in the vial on my entire arm..this one is very sweet to my nose and has an almost edible quality….there is a juiciness to it….at least that is how my wonky nose interprets it…I will have to go and research the notes now!
Keep calm and reek on!
peace love light xxoo
Safari was one of my few FBs in the 1990’s and I used the whole bottle. You smell wonderful & thanks for reminding me of an old favorite!
It is extraordinarily beautiful…..hope you get to sample it again!
Safari, so nice.
yup…and a fragrance I currently associate with you and included in one of my many haikus at the onset of this month-
Chamade Temps D’Une Fete
Alahine Safari Plum
mals is in the air
Well, my nose isn’t that far off…this is what I found researching the notes online….
“I wanted to create an all-natural version of the Forest Walk scent…using similar natural wood notes but grounding them with a mellow all-natural amber base” yet something else entirely came out with the second aspect missing.
“This scent features prominent fir and hemlock spruce notes along with three kinds of cedar, pine, oakwood, oakmoss, and sandalwood” making the woods much “livelier” than Forest Walk, meaning I don’t see just woods and tree trunks, instead with leafs fully intact, making the scent very green, sour, and even juicy! “(essentially a dark, intensified Christmas tree)
I am definitely getting that “juicy” aspect!
How does the available version compare? I’ve added it to my sample wishlist.
Not sure as I am not sure whether or not I am sampling vintage or current formulation…also, not sure whether it is EDT, EDP or perfume….
http://www.thenonblonde.com/2010/07/ralph-lauren-safari-for-women.html#.WRxoZiMrLQg
I found this if it helps any!
Thanks. Another beauty left to the imagination.
Balenciaga Paris L’Essence. I think one more wear will let me drain the decant, which is evaporating. I like B. Paris better anyway, so no tears.
Happy Wednesday, everyone!
I’ve always been intrigued by that one, just because the bottle’s so pretty.
Wearing L’Heure de Nuit right now but plan to give the dogs a bath in an hour. Since the SOTM will wash off soon, I think that Courtesan will work afterwards.
Those are very pampered dogs! They may pick up a bit of L’HdN during the bath 😉 .
Oh I LOVE Courtesan. I get “the swoon’ every time I spray it, and it lasts a good long time too.
Today I’m wearing Folavril, and finding the initial blast of tomato leaves to be just what I needed. Does it work for the Friday project? I think so, since it reminds me of spring.
Folavril….my goodness…I LOVED that one and drained a full bottle in the 1990s…why oh why was it discontinued? You smell fantastic!!! Another great green AG would be Eau de Camille…another beauty that was sadly discontinued……
Your memory for your perfume timeline is astonishing, especially considering how many you have worn over the years. What love!!
Whilst my regular memory went out the window when I hit 50, my memory of where I was when I wore certain perfumes remains…I keep a book of all full bottles drained and I would say that I can remember what most of them smelled like overall. The AGs are particular poignant as I brought home Eau de Ciel (as well as Escada’s Un Ete en Provence which many of you know as Summer in Provence) from my first Paris trip in the very early 90s….I guess the AGs were my first intro to niche!
I still have a half of a bottle of Folavril and Eau de Camille left. Yes, sadly they always discontinue the very best ones.
AG Passion also has a fabulous tomato leaf note.
I’ve recently started questing for a scent with a great tomato leaf note, so I’m glad you mentioned Folavril. Looks like I’ll have to give AG Passion a try too.
Have you smelled CB I Hate Perfume Memory of Kindness? It’s supposed to have a strong tomato leaf note. I’ve not tried it myself but always wanted to as tomato leaves in summer is one of my favorite smells.
Memory of Kindness is my SOTD! I can send you a sample of the absolute.
I’d love to try it! Shoot me an email and I’ll give you my new address. Thank you!
My favorite tomato leaf fragrance is….wait for it – Tomato by Demeter. It was developed by Christopher Brosius and has a wonderfully spicy tomato leaf scent.
I agree!
A gorgeous sunny spring day – finally!! Wearing Iris Ganache to celebrate.
You smell amazing !!!
Gorgeous!
Wearing Hermes Un Jardin En Mediterranee. One of my favorites green perfumes. So refreshing for the beautiful hot weather we will have today.
Perfect!
You smell great! I wore that one yesterday.
My favorite Jardin! You smell great!
Today was “muffins with mom” at my daughter’s school. It was really fun! I was running late and went to Prada Candy as my grab n go, but Lou Lou called my name. As soon as I put it on I thought why do I keep chasing the perfect fragrance when clearly this is one of them. Lou Lou is soft, powdery, and so charming! Makes me smile every time.
Muffins with moms does sound fun! I miss those times *sigh*
Today I am in the Robin-approved layering combination of Tam Dao and Philosykos – very green, yet warm. Still cold and rainy here today, but the trees are drinking it up happily so I can’t be too sad. Happy Wednesday all!
Oh, making a note of that one. I have samples of both to play with (thank you, Nordstrom).
You smell very fresh and lovely indeed! Perfect for the week’s theme-or anytime!
Half-twin – I’m in Philosykos!
You smell wonderfully creamy-fresh!
I find that using Tam Dao as a base for most things works well… 🙂
I need to try it as a base for some other things, but I’m unadventuresome. 🙂 It does last well on my skin (unlike Philosykos, sadly).
Another house twin here wearing L’Ombre dans L’Eau!
In Noir de Noir today for no other reason that it seemed to fit my mood. I love this one.
You smell wonderful!
“Because I felt like it” is one of the best reasons.
I’m wearing Tom Ford Neroli Portofino today…because it’s going to be 90 degrees.
Perfect choice for hot weather!
Perfect! I really that is best for hot weather.
It’s so refreshing – you smell great. Last year I reported on the deco hotel on Miami Beach that had it infused into the AC/ventilation system. That’s when I appreciated its appeal.
Wow, that is interesting. It’s a great hot weather scent.
SOTD Galop by Hermes
Baby Buddha is under the weather so its been sleepless nights for this mama. Finally turned a corner this morning and his fever broke.
Another cup of tea to stay awake. I am so tired I could cry. Nap time is right around the corner for everyone.
I’m sorry your sweet baby isn’t feeling well! That’s the worst, when your kids are sick. I hope everyone feels better after a substantial nap.
I’m glad the fever broke, you must be exhausted! A good nap should help. Remember to take care of yourself too.
I hope you both recover quickly. Galop and tea fortification should smooth the course.
Oh no! Feel better Baby Buddha! Hope your nap helps.
I wish I could play “grandma” and take a shift while you grab a bit of sleep. Get better soon, Baby!
Well wishes to Buddha and Mama!
Thinking of you and praying for rest and relief for you and your little one.
Thanks all!
Glad to hear that baby Buddha’s fever broke! There is some kind of nasty thing going around where I live… my husband said that a bunch of people in his office have been out sick lately, including him. Hope that you were able to get a nap in!
Today I’m layering just a bit of Kiehl’s Original Musk under Dior Eau Sauvage. I think of Kiehl’s Musk as the color (and texture) of rabbit’s fur, while Eau Sauvage is a perfect chartreuse.
Color-matching my fragrances is fun! I’m going to have to start doing this more often…
That sounds like a great combo!
I wore Eau Sauvage today as well – didn’t think I’d have any twins!
First off, a PSA: If anyone is interested in trying fragrances from The 7 Virtues, you can request samples on cotton pads from their website. I was reading a 2012 NST post which indicated this, so I thought, ‘what the heck’, and sent off an email request to them. Well, Barb replied within a few hours, and now I have three of her lovely fragrances to try! (I’m not affiliated.)
It’s going to be warm again today. Trying out Ezekiel bread for morning, but with coffee. Never giving up my coffee.
Will wear Vetiver of Haiti after shower, or maybe Baiser Vole, if I’m trying to ‘go green’. Fragrantica says it has a note of green lily leaves, so BV it is. This weekly challenge has certainly taught me that I have almost no green based fragrances in my wardrobe!
Y’all have a great day! 🙂
Wait, you mean like towelettes, right?
No, they were cotton rounds, like what you use for toner for your face.
Oh, nice! I tried the Vetiver one and really liked it- I keep imaging a full bottle…????
Mmmm, me too. Lord&Taylor has a 50ml bottle for $70. I’m tempted to do a split of this, and it looks like it has a screw top, which makes life so much easier…
My hands are all sprayed up with a variety of greens, each with a different hue. I’d say Cristalle EDP came closest to the Pantone shade as it’s a warmer green to me, but still crisp and juicy.
But, I went with Carnal Flower since I love the cool, green blast in the beginning.
Thanks for this! i may go with Carnal Flower as one of my samples tomorrow!
Beautiful. I hadn’t thought of Carnal Flower, but would love to wear it more.
I love that green blast in CF’s opening.
I’m trying out Masque Romanza — any narcissus lovers out there might be interested in this one.
Mmmmm. Love narcissus. I should probably be spring-daffodil instead of springpansy.
I’m in something fun, by an Etsy perfumer called Wing & a Prayer. Pixel sent me some samples and I am wearing my favorite, Pan’s Flute. The website says the scent includes violet leaf, lavender absolute, lavender tincture, rose, geranium, linden blossom, mimosa, bergamot, heliotrope, fir absolute. Of course I like it! Violet, lavender, rose, linden, and fir!
Oakland Fresca, Are you still interested in trying the new FM Superstitious? I have a half sample to send you if you want. Just click on my screen name to find my email.
Fragonard Figuier Fleur. I bought this in Grasse last September. Its bringing back some good memories 🙂
Nice!
Wednesday!
1) Ran errands after work and did not get home until 8. Fell asleep on the couch and not wake until 615 A.M.
2) to wake up, showered in Aromatics Elixir shower gel and am in Eau de Soir.
3) Am writing youse guys from the bus, with a coffee on the other hand!????
Re: #3- you are talented!
Hee! I am all thumbs!
You smell lovely.
Thank you! I really do feel lovely! 🙂
Today is also the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (or #IDAHOBIT on Twitter, which kind of makes it sound like it’s something to do with Idaho).
My SOTD is Philosykos. If I had to match it to a shade of green, I’d say it’s the light, sort of blue-toned one in the picture on the left.
Twins!
Would that that was EVERY day.
Love WILL prevail!
From your mouth to God’s ears.
Amen to that!
Ahhh. An important day with a terrible acronym!
Oh, how lovely! I am thinking of wearing something like this!
“It is never too late to give up our prejudices.”
— Henry David Thoreau
Philosykos makes me smile. When I sniff it I expect just the fruit, but it’s the entire fig tree in a bottle.
There must be a better way to name that day! But sorry I missed it.
Good morning! House goes on the market next week and took the day off work to clean feverishly. Which is why I am now on NST…
Wearing Covet which means I am actually in sync for the Friday Community Project (for once) as I find lots of green in this one. And I like it.
Have a good day all!
Good luck! That’s a big project.
Emailing you now. We did an insane house sale/buy in 2012 and I am still recovering. Best of luck!!!
I think I’ll need a lot of recovery from this one. Oy.
Ooof! I am preparing for painting the ground floor and THAT is exhausting! Have a coffee and get to it!
Bulgari au The Vert. This was one of the first fragrances I wore as an adult, when I only liked green fresh fragrances. It’s going to be in the 90s, so it’s just right. At the time I then went on to wear Hermes Un Jardin Sur Le Nil, which is one of my desert island scents. But I’m so pleased that NST community has enabled me to make up for being fragrantly monochromatic for so many years 🙂 .
Oh, that sounds just about right.
I also primarily wore green (or citrus) fragrances for many years. My tastes have also expanded. 🙂
We’ve got some humidity hanging in the air today, so I went with the refreshing Atelier Bois Blonds. A little incense, a little citrus, perfect!
ooooh, love bois blonds!
Me too!
SotD = Parfums DelRae Debut
Green and white, lime and vetiver encircle lily of the valley. I love this fragrance. It is one of a few that I do the spritz a cloud and walk through it maneuver. It smells even better that way.
Have not explored DelRae enough. That sounds really pretty- and I especially like the idea of walking through the cloud of perfume
It’s a compact line, and very good. My favourite is Amoureuse, but I haven’t tried their last, Wit.
Agree! Amoureuse makes me swoon. So beautiful and powerful, I can only wear a dab. 🙂
I wear several full sprays 🙂
I also love most of their line, and Amoureuse especially, but Bois de Paradis is a close contender.
Parfums DelRae are definitely worth a sniff. 🙂
You smell good, Début is a beauty!
Triple strength coffee.
Extra long workout.
Orange Blossom shower milk, Le Petit Marseillais, very nice.
Hermes Eau de Cologne, before they renamed it Orange Vert (not the name, but someone will correct me- LOL 😉 ).
Pleasant.
Wearing 30!!!!! years old Levi 501, I found spring cleaning ALL THE WAY at the back of the closet ( don’t judge! !!! LOL) .
Extremely faded with a frayed hole at one knee, and bleach (or turpentine, can’t remember) spots on the other leg.
Someone will think I’m some old a$$ hipster poseur !!!!
Let ’em !!!!
LOLOLOL. 😀
Carpe Diem. Peace.
Gosh, wish I could find a pair of 30 year old Levis as I clean out my closets. No judging here! Wear and enjoy, you’ll be right in style.
30 year old Levys!!!! holy cannoli! and you still fit into them…amazing, Bear!
You smell and LOOK fantastic!
I’m also surprised that you have kept clothes for that long. Mine is probably a couple of years. However, hats off to still being able to wear them. ????????
Hey Bear, you look great. I have a pair of Levi’s 501s of about the same vintage. Shrink to fit! Good times. 😉
I love vintage 501’s, I have several pairs.
Lucky you, being able to fit in 30-year-old Levi’s!! I envy you.
Every time I see a pile of those ripped to shreds jeans in a shop I think ‘looks like some cat had his way with them.’ I wonder ‘could that be how they’re doing it?’ Then I flip through the pile and discover the holes and tears are identical from pair to pair and think ‘that is one smart cat!’ 🙂
Thank you Everyone !!!
😀
I’m wearing Philosykos. It makes me think of a dusty olive green color. I love this scent – it’s just always perfect.
I think of brown, for bark & dirt, but either way you smell great!
It feels like summer here today so I’m wearing a scent to match – Eau d’Hadrien. I drained a bottle of it many years ago and just have a decant at the moment. If I should find some money burning a hole on my pocket, I’d be sorely tempted on a new FB.
yikes, must dig out my old bottle to see if it’s intact. Definitely hot enough for it now.
Today I’m in Histoires de Parfums 1725.
It’s been another warm day here in Poznań & I’m gradually starting to crave my lighter, citrusy colognes 😉
SOTD is Yves Rocher’s Cuir Vetiver, reapplied after the gym and always pleasant and undemangin
I meant undemanding (no auto corrector to blame!)
I have a group interview this morning. ????
Wearing some dabbed Bel Respiro for the stressful occasion.
Must remember…with gainful employment comes more perfume…breathe and repeat. 😉
You smell lovely.
I’m not a fan of the group interview. Good luck! Keep us posted.
Hope it went well!
Hope it went well and you do smell lovely!
Best of luck with the interview!
Hope it went well!
I woke up cold af, so I’m in cozy Shalimar EdT. That, my wool dress, and my big orange scarf should keep me nice and warm today. 😉
You smell great!
*sigh* I’m sure you’re with me in being BEYOND ready to put my freaking wool clothing away. Flannel pajamas, too. And winter coats and boots. (PS you smell fantastique!)
I am SO with you on that. 45 degrees this morning! WTF!
In this week’s oil experiment I took a sample of imaginary authors slow explosions, which was plasticky rosy on my skin, but turning it into a body oil is leather and green and apple and beautiful.
I’ve been following your oil experiments and decided to give it a try myself with jojoba oil + a couple sprays of Mugler Pure Tonka, which is a bit too much of a sillage beast to wear on its own. Adding oil tones it down nicely and brings out the base notes. Thanks for sharing your experiments!
Ooh good to hear! and you’re welcome.
Ooh, sounds like a success!
Feeling more grrrrr than green, so here I am in my beloved Sous le Vent. Grrrrr and purrrrr!
Dior Eau Sauvage for me today. One of the samples I pulled out to put on the dresser, since it was in a plastic Sephora sprayer. I originally asked for the sample for my husband. He wasn’t interested. So, I spray it on today and had him sniff. “Very nice”. Then about five minutes later (after I wafted past him a couple of times) he asked what it was since he liked it. Maybe I should get him some…since I quite love it.
Off topic question: has anyone used the Chanel No. 19 body milk? Nice?
Every house should have a bottle of Eau Sauvage 🙂
I bought a sample set of masculine classics for my H’s bday. They have yet to arrive, but Eau Savage is among them. I have high hopes!
It’s become a staple for me — the perfect “masculine” green citrus that doesn’t smell like a barbershop cliché!
I have not used the body milk but have err ummm 4 bottles of the shower gel.
I’m wearing Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca. First time this year and it is green and refreshing for a hot day. At least it’s hot by Ontario in May standards.
Ah, it really is AA weather here.
L’ Envol today. “Borrowed” this sample from the hubs (who received it from an aggressive SA.????) This is a beautiful powdery violet. I can detect wood and honey notes in the background. I would be very happy with a bottle of this.
I took a quick sniff at Nordies and thought it was nice too.
I just purchased this, and I have to admit that I thought about giving this to my husband as a gift and then “borrowing” it.
Sounds like a great idea to me ????
I still have split portions available or you can wait until swapmeet and I will swap for a donation to your favorite charity 😉
I will email you mañana!
I am wearing one of my favorite layering combos. FM Lipstick Rose with SL Musc Kublai Khan, you can see the pic on my Instagram
https://www.instagram.com/herasukyas/
I think I am obsessed with Instagram.
I love your Instagram!
Thank you
I do, too! Great photography and your bottles are so pristine-looking. (Most of my vintage bottles are pretty banged up :/ )
Hera, your photos are fabulous and I’m sure you smell great all the time!
Great instagram. I’m always too busy photo-bothering my cats to actually snap my bottles (and I have no cool vintage things, anyway).
Thank you everyone
What is the name of the fragrance in the bottle with the feathered glass stopper?
Eris Night Flower for a cool, rainy morning. Topped off this afternoon with a very dark Shalimar Extrait on a sunny afternoon! My TF Amber Absolute decant comes in today. Today’s perfume choices are all over the place. But it’s fun! Have a great day!
Jolie Madame today, one of my desert island fragrances.
Very good morning, all. The rain, it raineth, and the cold, it coldeth, but I don’t mind, because it gives me the opportunity to wear one of my favourite jumpers, a garment that is so much fun it makes me smile whenever I catch my reflection. I wanted to team it with a perfume that is also pure fun, but my hand just wouldn’t go past No.19, not entirely fun, but very beautiful when she behaves well, so I’m wrapped in soft wool and soft green scent, and it works nicely. Eggzellent! I pretty much finished a horrible task yesterday –I just need to write up and include a random thought that occurred to me on my walk home yesterday, but that’s a ten minute job only–and I’m all finished on that. Double eggzellent! And if His Noble Dakness yodelled last night, I slept through it–eggzellent to the power of five!
I don’t know if this will approach eggzellent (most likely not, I fear) but I thought I might wander out at lunchtime and essay the Tom Ford counter again. I did read your responses to my reflections on Tuesday’s visit, but by then it was so late up there in the other hemisphere that I didn’t comment, but I have noted your thoughts on TF prices. Thank you! My idea is to sort out what I like and if I like, buy on my visit to the US. And Robin, I’ll have to see if I can get the nice young man to surpass his “Sourced at the point of origin” patter. If he utters any similar gems, I’ll report back. Be well and greenly fragrant, all.
SOTD is Comptoir Sud Pacifique “Eau des Lagons”.
Top: lime and cactus;
Mid: lotus, peony and cyclamen;
Base: salt, amber, musk and driftwood.
It is neither as lovely as those notes sound, not as awful as a dose of yer actual lagoon water with all its wriggling pondlife would likely be. In fact, it’s so nondescript that I suspect some imbecile stole the recipe from Penhaligon’s, who are my go-to house for annoyingly insipid nonsense.
Anyhoo, 21:00 here3 so I really should be leaving the office. Good evening UK, guten Abend Germany, bonsoir France and Добрый вечер to all in the USA. ;^)
Sigh. Мы устали от победы.
Нет политики, пожалуйста
Not sure I got that right, but you get the idea.
Я должен молчать.
лол! 🙂
lol!
Oodgay Ightnay Koenigsberg !!!
LOL 😉
(3 Stooges fan here !! Nyuk Nyuk Nyuk !!! )
Cacharel Eden today. The bottle seems more greenery than the scent ( which is floral, tropical, green ).
We had seven days of no internet due to a broken modem in combination with some ‘ technical issues somewhere. Turned out to be the most productive seven days of the year and it seems I have reclaimed my attention span.
Happy Thursday and Wednesday!
Kanuka, are you still coming up to Ak next week? If so, hope you have time for a catch up.
Sorting out my Tom Ford appropriate wardrobe as we speak. I’ve got the smirk sorted but not the cufflinks. have emailed you.
Today I’m in No. 19 Poudré purchased with my drug store points. If this was not “free” I may have never discovered this lovely Iris.
I adore No. 19 Poudre’.
Three cheers for drugstore points! If only they’d get some more niche stuff, I’d have a field day! You smell lovely ????
That’s a very pretty scent.
This morning Santal Majuscule by Serge Lutens and in the afternoon Violette de Czar by Oriza L. Legrand.
Santal Majuscule wins by a long mile 🙂
You smell fantastic!
Horrible wet morning here – winter is definitely on its way. It might be time to break out what I think of as my warmest scent, Olfactive Studio’s Chambre Noir.
You smell gorgeous 🙂 That is one of my favourite scents.
I went with N°5 L’Eau today. Because why the heck not!?
Have yourselves a good middle-of-the-week, NSTers!
Yes to No. 5. And why-the-heck-not can be the best reason.
Why the heck not indeed!
Currently wearing vintage Anais Anais dabbed from a mini that has not fared particularly well. I have always strongly visualized Anais Anais as white, but I was curious as to whether my nose would pick up green notes as I’ve not worn it in a while.
I do sense them, but still can’t see this fragrance as green. Either way, it will always be one of the prettiest fragrances ever for me (and one that’s thought-provoking, rather than going in the prim or dull direction as “pretty” can sometimes do.) I do wish I had a spray bottle that was in better shape, but the frequency of my wearing it has never warranted a purchase.
Funny – I feel like I rarely see Cacharel mentioned in SOTDs, but I see I’m house cousins with a few of you today!
Forgot to add that I love your “first days of spring” reference to La Chasse aux Papillons. I also see it as “slightly green” but have never been able to put my finger on exactly what shade. I’m also not 100% convinced that it’s not yellow.
I think I’ll put some on right now and ponder.
Agree! La Chasse aux Papillons is yellow-green or to me. 🙂
Hi house cousin! I was just telling myself I need to revisit Anais Anais.
Thanks to everyone who wished me good health yesterday. Unfortunately, last night definitely proved that I have a %@&!! cold, and not allergies. So it’s time to settle in to the cold protocol: no hugging, no kissing, my own personal box of Kleenex, and plenty of hot tea!
SOTD = a couple of sprays of pre-2010 Opium EdT. Maybe this will give my immune system the kick in the pants it needs. If not, then hey, at least I smell good.
Yes you do smell good. Leaning in for a virtual whiff! I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks, foxbins!
Back in the day, I used to chase the first sign of a cold away with Jack Daniels. A good dousing of Opium seems like a similar approach 🙂 (PS Was there a major reform in 2010? I have a bottle from the 80s (?) that’s almost empty and will need replacing.)
I know that there was a major reformation of Opium when they changed the bottle style. If memory serves, that was around 2010. I specifically looked for the older-style bottles when I picked mine up, since I thought the new design was ugly. I would strongly suggest sniffing before you get a new bottle.
Oh crud! Feel better soon!
Thank you, Hajusuuri!
I had back-to-back dental and medical appointments today so I am just getting around to scent. I’m Hollying my way through four samples–Bracken, Iris Fauve, Coup de Foudre, and Belle de Jour. Afterward I might put on some Shalimar Mexique while it’s still cool here. Supposed to get to the nineties by next Monday.
Today was a work day with computer downtime for the entire 12 hours. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pretty sure I stink. ????
SOTD = Jacomo Silences Parfum de Toilette
I got a FB from a generous NSTer for, either half Valentine’s Day or balf St. Patrick’s Day (more gift receiving occasions in case you are looking for one !!!). It is a green aldehylic floral mish-mash (in a good way). It is kissing cousins with No. 19 and Heure Exquise. Lovely, green, perfect for screen. I was heavy-handed with it (6 sprays).
