Another weekend gone! If it's any consolation, it's International whisk(e)y day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm in Galop d'Hermès.
Reminder: on 3/31, your pick of Swap Love or Blind Love...wear a fragrance you acquired via a swap, or wear a fragrance you bought unsniffed. Double bonus points for wearing one of each, triple bonus points for a Blind Swap Love. If you don't swap or buy unsniffed, just wear a fragrance you love. (adapted from a suggestion by Pixel)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2017, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: "Marley the Poney" (a one-of-a-kind "poney sculpture in taurillon Clemence leather with leather fringe", about 54" high) is $133,800 at Hermès. You're welcome.
SotD: House twin–Eau de Pamplemousse Rose for me today. I needed something meeting friendly and cheerful.
S(ip)otD: Nothing yet. I am finishing up a annual review for a troublesome employee. I promised myself a cup of tea when I finish up the document.
Good luck with that, it sounds like a difficult project.
SOTD: Carven Pour Homme.
Prada Infusion d’Iris, hopefully as assistance in getting lots of work done today.
Beautiful and easy to wear perfume. One of my favorite iris. You smell great!
Mine too!, it’s really perfect in early spring.
One of my favorites and great for spring! You smell great.
Perfect for spring. LOVELY.
I am sampling Izia by Sisley.
Woke up this morning to a foggy San Francisco day…oh wait..I don’t live in San Francisco anymore..
Moroccan inspired tunic and french press coffee
Like, no like?
Let us know what you think of that one.
The dry down of this one is really nice. A soft sweet rose. For some reason in the foggy rainy weather this is just perfect for a day like today. Grab a baby and a cat and snuggle up.
When I sprayed it initially, I thought this is one of those perfumes that will enter the room before I do..but then it quieted down into something nice. I am not running for a bottle so far. Will continue to try. Wasn’t a scrubber for sure
Testing (again) LAP Séville à l’Aube. Trying to decide whether it’s worth it to get a full bottle for spring!
I wish I had a full bottle myself 🙂
Séville à l’Aube is wonderful. It might be my choice for Friday.
Cédrat Intense by Parfums de Nicolaï. Spring has very much arrived in the Netherlands and the weather is lovely, if a tad too warm for this time of year. I had a lovely Darjeeling this morning and haven’t yet made up my mind about what tea will be next. Lovely choice of image by the way, a real, actual horse is cheaper 🙂
You smell great! I have a sample of the one and it is very nice.
I got it a couple of years ago in Paris and always forget about it, but it’s so very nice, and great for this time of year. Tea is now Guangdong Dan Cong.
Ha, but this one eats less 😉
Definitely, but the amount of hay I could buy for the remainder of the money would be staggering 🙂
So true.
Warm spring sound lovely right now! It will be a few weeks until our snow melts. Brrr!
Happy Monday! Working since 5:30am. Drinking lots of coffee to keep up with the work load and wearing Hermes Kelly Caleche EdP. Flowers, leather, perfect for the gray, rainy day we have today.
Same weather here. SO past ready for spring!
Happy Monday- and you smell just lovely and on point with Kelly Caleche!
🙂 Thank you.
Mmmm, love Kelly Caleche. You smell wonderful 🙂
Funnily enough, I did not know it was International Whisk(e)y Day, but my SOTD is Kerosene Broken Theories. Slàinte!
Twins!
I’m in Cristalle EDT again.
What a cool pic of a leather horse!
Whiskey day? Maybe I’ll have some later.
Cristalle is one of my favorite early spring fragrances. Enjoy!
Can I join you..I am fan of whiskey
Sure thing! Enjoy yours. 🙂
Scent Twins!
Random Acts of Sample Kindness day 7.
Reeking havoc in Blackberry and Bay, Wood Sage and Sea Salt, 10 Corso Como and Bois d’Ascese. If I survive this daring feat, my encore performance will include Bird of Paradise and So Iris.
🙂 Good luck!
That’s brace. I have to diagram where I place them or hours later something smells wonderful, and often different from my initial evaluation. By then I have forgotten which fragrance was where.
Brave- fat finger Mondayyyy
All at once!? I’m deeply impressed.
Proof that perfume minimalism is so 2016
Anything that you liked today?
I’m in Alahine today (oh, look – my spellchecker has apparently learned not to correct it!) and running horribly late. Monday – argh.
Manic Monday!
Alahiiiiiiine! perfect for a manic monday
Gorgeous!
You smell wonderful!
You smell wonderful!
I’m wearing Smell Bent Violet Tendencies that I got in the Swapmeet. Yay, Swapmeet! It’s a weird one, but I like it: violet leather with a woody dry down. It doesn’t exactly smell like flowers. By the way, I’d love to see what Vero Kern would do with violet.
Me too! I love violets and Vero.
No money man can win my love,
It’s sweetness that I’m thinking of….
Bois D’Armenie Guerlain.
Triple strength coffee. 😀
Carpe Diem. Peace.
Love that song, Can’t beat a bit of Nenah cherry sometimes!
“Ladies and gentlemen. I’d like to introduce the hi hat.”
Aw Neneh cherry, good memories 🙂
I was in bois d’armenie yesterday
How do you find it?
On my skin- frankincense, guaiac wood (like sandalwood but has a bit of spice) , powder from a combination of benzoin and orris root.
It is transparent and light, not heavy though the notes would make it seem so. (Grammar police, I’m sticking out my tongue) .
LOL HTH
😉
I really love it and its very light on me as well, I thought it was my scent eating skin, but its light on you too.
When one of my friends gave me a hug the other day she commented on how good I smelled while I was wearing this one, but I thought it had completely faded!
It has been reformulated and is much lighter than it used to be.
Thanks cazaubon.
Your response prompted me to date my bottle using: http://raidersofthelostscent.blogspot.it/2013/10/how-to-recognize-guerlain-perfumes.html
and my bottle is from 2007.
I think this was always light, maybe lighter now.
YMMV
BdA is so warm and sensual – the perfect woody spicy vanilla!
Love Buffalo Stance, it is 29 years old!
Seems like a few weeks ago.
Carpe Diem, indeed!
SOTD is Ostara, I’m alternately sniffing my wrist and the posy of spring flowers on the table, which was my gift from the Mothering Sunday service yesterday. Ostara is a very beautiful interpretation of spring, but of course pales in comparison to the real thing!
Just listened to Stuart Maconie’s brilliant on stage chat with Edwyn Collins on 6 music, with some songs from the 6 music festival in Glasgow.(including ‘Rip it Up’, still sounding so fresh!)
He’s a real hero of mine, like Stuart said, one of the very few geniuses of pop alive today.
Fun! I loved Orange Juice.
Hi, house cousin! Enjoy your spring in a bottle.
Echoing Suzy Q’s ‘yay swapmeet’ 😀
I am wearing Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir from a swap with a generous NSTer, and it’s really lovely. The rich citrus is made opulent by the white flowers and vanilla, and anchored by the smoky tea notes. Perfect for a grey early spring morning.
Oh, that sounds amazing!
I’ve fallen hard for Neroli Outrenoir — beautiful tea scent and has really peaked my interest in neroli too.
It is a good one for gray, early spring morning days..
Wow, I need to try that one!
Perfect! I just ordered a second La Goutte Parfumee of Neroli Outrenoir – soooo good!
Gosh, its the last week of March. This month flew by. My fragrance that I chose to wear today is Deseo by Jennifer Lopez. This wasnt a swap or a blind buy. I used to wear Deseo when it came out over 10 plus years ago. I dont know what happened or why I stopped wearing it because I lovrd it. So, a couple of years ago, I stumbled across it on Fragrance Net and saw hoe cheap it was. I have been wearing it again ever since. It’s one of the celeb fragrances that I feel was very well done. I get so many compliments when I wear this.
SOTD = Diptyque Olene, very pleasant. Probably not FB worthy, unless it surprises me in the dry-down, but really a very nice floral.
OOTD = Red/white/black plaid tunic with little gold threads, heavy black cotton boyfriend sweater, black leggings, black loafers with tassels, and a $40.00 Bebe tote from TJ Maxx with lots of photo-realistic red (as well as other colors) flowers on a black ground – which is just a great thing. You know how sometimes you find the perfect accessory, and it solves so many problems – this good sized tote (14″ x12″_ is one of them. I’ve stopped mooning over the Brahmin and Dolce and Gabbana websites for handbags. Woo hoo!
Thought for the day = Pay attention to reality. (B. F. Fisher)
Have to say, that cute leather pony for $133, 800 is a pretty egregious example of aspirational conspicuous consumption. Heck I could build a really nice barn and populate the barn with several living breathing horses for that amount of money. But, people want different things in this life….
I love a nice tote.
I love a good image of an egregious example of aspirational conspicuous consumption 🙂
Something we all can afford 🙂
You look and smell great- and yeah, even here in rapidly pricey Portland, you could keep several ponies for the price or the leatehr sculpture. For several years.
Still blowing ridiculously nasty stuff out the schnozz; it’s been 12 days and I think it’s past “just a cold.” Time to see the doctor.
And Bookworm left to finish the last half of her last university semester. (I ordered her graduation robe this morning. Oy.) Gaze received a college acceptance he’d been hoping for and notice of a low waitlist number at a different school. SOMEHOW he managed to apply as an out-of-state student at UVa, and that did affect his admissions status. Oy again.
I long for Le Temps d’une Fete and fresh daffodils but cannot smell a durn thing.
Poor you! Get well soon. Hope the doctor is able to give some insight.
My cold has packed it bags and is heading towards the exit, thank goodness. Still an occasional sniff here and there.
So sorry! Do get to the doctor.
Get better soon! Maybe try drinking some hot honeyed lemon ginger and green tea to boost that immune system? 🙂
My daughter has this cold too and hence I am home with her AND – happy day – finally have some time to visit NST! Spring would be nice. We still have about 2 feet of slowly melting snow on the ground.
Feel better soon!
I hope the doctor can give you some medicine to knock this out.
Feel better soon!
Ugh, nothing like a nasty sinus infection to interfere with day to day living. Hope you kick it soon…
Hope the doc can help you shake off the nasty crud!
133,800 dollar for that pony huh…for that amount of money, you can buy a real one, or two, and support/feed/take care of it as well for a few years. 😉
I am wearing Ophelia by Heeley. Blind buy.
Heavily discounted
(so thats practically ‘free’, I learned from you guys)
Lovely white flowers with shades of green and water. Safe for office imo. Normally I like my white flowers indolic and darker. But I work in an open spaced office and have lots of meetings in crowded spaces, dont want to scare my colleagues.
Weird name by the way. It has nothing to do with suicide.
Dont like the dry down that much, but by the time it reaches that phase its almost undetecable on my skin
I’m wearing Jo Malone Whisky and Cedarwood. I tried it once before and it actually lasts several hours. It’s warm, boozy, and woody for a foggy day.
I may have to break into my son’s stash of Glenmorangie Sherry Cask Finish scotch that he leaves here for when he visits. He shouldn’t notice the a few sips missing, which is about all I can handle 😀 .
Jiji, had planned to comment that I always wanted to try Ophelia because of the name-left to answer the phone and then posted SOTD instead.
Mondays!!
That happened to me a few times as well. 🙂
The name ‘Ophelia’ does not fit the scent, though the flowery and watery part is covered. Its a hazy jasmine/lily/tuberose to my nose with fresh green accents.
It is a delicate scent that fits a flowery summerdress. But its waay too crispy for the drama that is Hamlet, and also too crispy to be associated with the famous preRaphaelite interpretations of Ophelia.
Whenever I see a Waterhouse, Millais or Rosetti painting, I also think of plant roots, dirt/soil (boatloads of oakmoss/ vetiver/ woods will do) and the scent of chruch frankincense in their heavy gowns, and animalic notes (civet) as well…
SOTD: l’ombre dans l’eau on a cold, rainy day. Need to make myself some strong floral tea to boost the spirits!
That is a very, very adorable pony Robin. I will just pretend it’s a display piece and not for sale (scary image of it ending up in a rich family where the child rides it for fun..). Ok, I really need my tea. 😉
You smell wonderful!
You would think it would be a display! But it is from the Petit H range, which as I understand it is all one-offs that they make with all the bits of leather that are leftover from making bags & whatnot. Which makes it extra funny (to me, anyway).
That horse reminds me of Janice from The Muppet Show who had her bangs covering her eyes 🙂
Cool and rainy Monday here. Needed a little cheer so am in Rosine’s Rose Praline which is such a happy perfume.
LOL! Janice was all bangs and lipstick!
Right?! She cracked me up. Although I googled images of her and all that came up were pictures of her with her hair parted in the middle. Didn’t she wear tinsel wigs?
Janice!!! When I was little girl I alway thought she was the coolest of them all.
She was pretty groovy.
I loved her! And the horse really does look like her.
It was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw that horse. She must have made quite an impression on me!
It made me think of a fringe pocketbook that I saw at TJ Maxx. ???? Funny how styles come back around in a slightly altered form .
First thought was Cousin Itt from the Addams Family… the original b&w television series.
YES! This!!!
+2!
I can’t believe it’s Monday again! Time flies!
Rainy, yucky out today in NYC. “rainy days & Mondays always get me…”
Cookie of the week will be graham cracker cookies and I’m looking forward to making them later today.
SOTD: Seville a l`Aube
Weather twin!
Got to love the Carpenters!!
Miss them.. such a talented family.
Karen Carpenter’s voice was like fine silk. I love listening to Carpenters music 🙂
Babies are requesting them in animal shapes please… 😉
Awww.. yes! That would be adorable to do!
EL Pleasures Florals. Not really a blind buy but I got it as a gift. It’s pleasant enough but I don’t love it like I do the original. This version amps up the white florals but it’s also a little synthetic smelling. Not bad but not great either. Meh for Monday.
Happy Rainy Monday!
1) Met up with people and boy- when you are tired but trying to keep up with happy hour- WHOOOSH!
2) Still was able to put in a couple of really good workout sessions and finally decided on colors for the house. Pink, blue, browns and creams, with jolts of orange and gold throughout.
3) SOTD: Aromatics White (from a sample) over Aromatic shower gel and homemade rose/jasmine oil. I really like Aromatics White for spring (I know Angela thinks it’s a meh) it’s really rosy and striking but with a softer green edge.
4) Portland (OR) Bougie Alert- THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE:
Le Labo is open on Burnside! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, PEOPLE.
So Portland. 😉
No protests- honest!
But we will all check it out and order the same damn thing, to be sure (most likely the Palo Santo candle)!
Finally I am making it for a visit! I miss everyone. Work has been so go go go that I never have time to pop over anymore. Because it’s miserably cold and damp here I am wearing the warm and juicy Badgley Mischka, which smells very good while you are drinking whiskey! Cheers to everyone!
Nice to see a post from you! I hope your daughter is feeling better soon.
Thanks! She’s already broker her fever so we’re on our way.
Hi Ann, like you I haven’t been around in ages, too busy after a wonderful holiday in Africa! Very nice to see you and everyone, but I am afraid it is a quick visit and visits will be few the coming months. I do smell great though 😉 Chanel No 22 in extrait. Best wishes and you all smell wonderful!
Now that’s what I need: a wonderful holiday in Africa! I hope you are well. No 22 is perfectly elegant!
Yay! How are you?
Hanging in there. Chained to the rock, the tide’s always coming in. It will pass. Sad thing for me is I’ve actually been avoiding wearing a lot of my frags the past few months so I don’t end up with the inevitable bad-scent-association problem. I’ve been using a lot of aromatherapy instead. That is all good, but I’m missing the daily muse for what frag to wear.
SotD = Berdoues Oud wa Vanillia again, from a sample. I like the vanilla very much. The top notes remind me of band aids and vinyl pool toys in a nice way.
When I was a child my cousins had Shetland ponies so I thought they were a wealthy family. As an adult I realized their life on a farm made them rich in ways not related to money.
Currently reading China Rich Girl. The endless imagery of fantastical wealth (such as a gift room devoted to Birkin bags!) is almost tiresome. It must be Monday.
“As an adult I realized their life on a farm made them rich in ways not related to money.”
Precisely. I have relatives in Panama who complain about how poor they are and how rich the American cousins are. But then they have their Palm Harbor homes overlooking the Caribbean beaches, eat fresh fish and shrimp almost every day, have chickens in the yard and veggies growing so plentiful that they go wild, and they just have to work only 6 hours total a day, with plenty of time to swim and have a rum drink or three with friends. Poor? Only in dollars.
Agree about the wonders of country life. An aunt and uncle retired to a farm, and I love to visit them.
It was a fun read though :-). Sad to say or incredulously, some people do live like that. Never mind the most expensive diamond-studded iPhone case. You don’t rate if you don’t have a maid following you around holding your cell phone and a body guard to watch your back.
I kept reading. The story took off when the helicopter landed at the wedding rehearsal. I’m enjoying it now.
Today is Nahema parfum. I’m hoping its beauty helps get me gracefully through Monday!
It will probably Get you through Tuesday and Wednesday, too….nahema is the gift that keeps on giving
Hahaha I try not to wear too much of it, because it IS strong, but oh, I love this perfume!
Until Friday and the weekend…
I finally got an FB of Jasmin et Cigarette so I’ll just be drenched in that for the foreseeable future. 🙂
Oh, you smell great! Enjoy your FB.
Congrats! I love dousing myself in that one.
It’s Leather Week for me. Somehow I have shamefully neglected my leather scents this winter, need to make up for that. SOTD is Chanel Cuir de Russie EdT on my left hand, and the new EdP on my right hand. So far, the new version is more floral, less leather, softer and “rounder” if that makes any sense. I am finding things to like in each new EdP I try, so far. I just think of them as new versions of old friends.
But I’m going to give a shout out each day to a Swap Love or Blind Love, seeing as it’s “me” week..! Today’s shout-out goes to foxbins for sending me Gucci Rush, which I adore for its peachy brashness. Thanks, foxbins!
🙂
Oh, you smell fabulous and opulent!
Used up the last of my Iris Prima splash mini. I’m halfway considering a full bottle, since they’re to be had for very little at the discounters’, but maybe it would be more fun to poke around a bit in scents that fill a similar spot in my perfume wardrobe. That is: ladylike. Any suggestions?
Kelly Caleche Parfum
On this beautiful and sunny spring day I’m wearing ‘Bel Ami Vetiver’ by Hermès.
I’ve never smelled that but I have a bit left in the cocktail shaker original, and the new (10 years old) plain bottle.
Both are fantastic, negligible differences.
You smell great, I’m sure! !!
Bel Ami is good stuff for sure!
California Reverie this morning, on my way to a killer yoga class.
Killer yoga class sounds like a pitch for a movie
It was actually just very strenuous and HOT. 🙂
Yesterday afternoon I came back from Esxence in Milan. It was exciting, exhausting and charming as usual.
Need a few more days to wrap things up to start reporting it for you on my block. Please, have some patience.
Welcome back, looking forward to the reports.
Wow! That was fast! Looking forward to hearing what you discovered.
Looking forward to hearing all about it!
In Eau d’Hadrien today. Perfect for a warm spring day. Happy Monday, all!
You smell sunny and wonderful.
My SOTD is Ombre Mercure. I love this scent!
Scent twin! Me too! Ditto loving it too!
Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee.
Robin, I wore Galop yesterday. I enjoy wearing this scent.
I enjoy it too. If they ever do it in 15 ml at the usual 15 ml price, I might buy it, but I won’t lose sleep if they don’t.
I wore Rochas Alchimie yesterday, and while wearing it thought it might be quite similar to Le Labo Vanille 44. So this morning I absolutely had to put on the Vanille. They aren’t really as similar as I’d thought.
My scent memories work like that too!
Spent the morning in vintage Bal but switched to Epic woman after my shower. How I love Epic.
SOTD is Larmes du Desert
That horse cracks me up. Who would buy such a thing? Imagine dusting all those leather hangings…although I suppose if you bought the horse the maid would be cleaning it.
I am wearing vintage Bellodgia edt this morning. It’s so pretty.
vintage Bellodgia is marvelous!
Good point. ????
Where did you find vintage Bellodgia? I’ve been meaning to try it but haven’t found vintage.
I got a half-bottle for almost nothing on ebay because it was missing the cap and sprayer. I pried the crimped metal top off and decanted it.
I’ve been sort of thinking longingly of this horse for a little bit, so thank you for mentioning having to dust it. And probably condition the leather. You’ve saved me some pain!
OK, well I always try new samples Mon-Fri. So for this week I’m taking the community challenge to see if I love any of them.
SOTD is “Baudelaire” by Byredo.
Top: caraway, juniper and pepper;
Mid: hyacinth, incense and leather;
Base: patchouli, amber and papyrus.
Nope, still a frog.
mmwahh!
I loved this one for the first twenty minutes and then it felt like a whole lotta nothing
Not sure I like the sound of caraway in a perfume. Reminds me of living in Germany and visiting the bakery where the question was always …mit or ohne kummel
Well, in this one the opening is great, and then it quickly morphs into an amber, and the just as quickly vanishes. :^)
Did my usual early morning gkance at the photo and thought someone’s grandchild has tried making Dougal (Magic Roundabout) out of chocolate. Second glance, someone’s grandchild has found a fringe jacket in their grandparents closet and tried making a horse but can’t find the scissors to finish the job ( which I can relate to ). Now see…thanks to reading all the comments…that skilled craftspeople have made a quite big horse using exquisite leather that could have been used for a fringe jacket or a bag to carry chocolate, or both. Wish I had been in the workshop when the sketched concept was handed out. We want a horse that looks like it’s made of chocolate spaghetti…can you make it so long that it can’t see and every time it walks it stands in its hair. A gift to PETA if ever I saw one. Think I’ll wear Poison Girl and make some toast now.
At first I thought of those dogs with dredlocks, the Puli. Then I realized it was supposed to be a horse. I think a jacket or a bag to carry chocolate would be much more useful. 🙂
Hectic Monday at work. I am wearing DeProfundis to match this gloomy rainy day. It is a little early for April showers but at least the snow is melting.
Hah! I love that pony, made me smile 🙂
SOTD is Cristalle. Some days I go with the weather for my perfume, today I go against the grey rainy day and am wearing the bright Cristalle. Also, I love my outfit today: cuffed dark skinny jeans, a plaid shirt, and worn in brown oxfords. I feel very country-50’s chic, so I put on a red Chanel lipstick and some Chanel perfume. Time to make some milky oolong and try to be productive!
Sounds all together fantastic! Cristalle is definitely a mood enhancing fragrance. Smells like summer to me.
I’m still catching up on things after a weekend away visiting my mother, a very enjoyable couple of days scented with Tobacco Vanille and De Profundis (not at the same time, I hasten to add).
A difficult project for me this week 🙂 – I only buy tiny decants of things I haven’t tried, and then I like to wear those at home so that I can concentrate on them to see if they are FBW. However, I do have some perfumes that were a wonderful gift from Kanuka, so today I’ll be wafting Samsara.
It sounds like you had terrible weather. Today is warm and sunny with no wind. Hope you had a good time.
Wearing ELDO Vraie Blonde today. Dealing with insurance crap today because — absolutely no joke — a car crashed into my back patio Friday night. I was home just minding my own business watching Netflix. Nobody was hurt, thankfully. She also managed not to hit my car, which seems kind of miraculous.
Also, as it happens, I believe I did get my SOTD either from a swap or from the freebiemeet. At any rate, I know I didn’t buy it, and I hadn’t smelled it before I got it. So I’m on theme, and not even on purpose!
I’m so glad no one was hurt. Sorry that happened to you!
Yikes! I had a similar experience in a restaurant when I was 8 months pregnant. A car crashed into the restaurant’s exterior wall right next to where I was sitting. I was slightly squished but nothing worse, no injuries, etc. Lucky!
Oh my gosh you were lucky you didn’t get hurt! That sounds terrifying. That is way worse than what happened to me. That would be like if the car actually came into my house.
I had the opposite experience about a month ago and I still can’t get over it. I was driving a rental car because someone had crashed into me and my car was being repaired. While driving on a major highway, the rental car accelerated on its own and it took everything in me to get the back into control. When I finally arrived at my destination and was gingerly edging into a parking space in front a building, the rental car accelerated again and leapt over the curb onto the sidewalk and didn’t stop until it crashed into a wall. I had tried to brake the car while this was happening but it only made it accelerate more. The scary thing (but fortunate thing as well) was that ordinarily at that time of day that area would have been filled with people had there not been a rain shower right before and at that moment of impact not one person was on the sidewalk. The car had what they call a “torque event” which can happen to any car now that they are so computerized…even to parts next to each other are even an iota out of sync a torque event can occur…oh and trying to put on the brakes makes the car accelerate speed even more. The only thing that can sometimes work is to put the car in neutral gear. I did not know any of this at the time. It was such a shock to me when it happened. I am just putting it out there to let you all be aware of this so called torque event.
Wow! That is terrifying. Glad you are okay and thanks for the info.
There was a Criminal Minds episode recently about this, it was scary, I am happy you are o.k.
Holy crap that is terrifying, and I’m sorry that happened to you. I’m glad you escaped the situation without injury. I had never heard of that.
Scary! That happened to a neighbor once, glad you are okay.
Thanks 🙂
I’m glad to hear that no one was hurt. Scary incident!
My SotD is Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey that I dug out of my sample graveyard thanks to the recommendation of an NST’er the other day.
It’s pretty whoa. Normally Jo Malone is very meh for me, but this one I swear I can smell the fuzz on the nectarines. Not sure if smelling like almost-but-not-quite overripe fruit is my thing, really, but this is very, very well done.
It’s one of the those cool, misty, barely-spring days that calls for Iris Silver Mist.
Aedes EDP, a love of mine. Polished off the decant and already miss it. I wore it last week and posted that I would finish it off that same day, but I ended up deciding to save it for one more wearing. Well, it came in handy to make Monday a little less painful today.
I don’t know why, but that horse thing in today’s picture is creeping me out.
SOTD = an old friend I didn’t know I had, No. 19 EdT from the sample stash. As soon as I put it in, I realized that I had smelled it when I was rather young, and liked it quite a bit. But No. 19 and I hadn’t crossed paths again until today.
Oh, that’s marvelous. I love it when a scent memory surfaces.
“Why is there a leather yak?” I asked myself today.
Only the Kim Kardashians of this world know the answer to that one
Really late to the party!
SOTD = Hiram Green Arbole Arbole
Y’all know I don’t do blind buys anymore, just large samples. With that said, I bought a large sample with intent to split and did. It smells like a lighter version of Chypre Mousse, sweeter, with a vanillic dry-down. Just when I thought it died 8 hours in, it actually revived with body heat from my walk to NYPenn.
Zoologist testing:
Civet – thumbs up. It smells like aldehylic amber. I need to try it again to see if the slight eye irritation I experienced was due to this or not and I need to experience the dry-down again. Stays close to skin.
Hummingbird – Sweet on sweet flowery and loud. Not office-safe.
