The daily lemming

Chanel Huile de Jasmin

Another one that I happily don't want, but guessing many of you will — Chanel's new Huile de Jasmin: "A luxurious facial oil inspired by Mademoiselle’s original skincare collection. Delicately scented with Grasse Jasmine Extract, the formula smoothes and comforts skin. The 99-percent naturally derived formula is composed of ingredients selected for sensorial richness and compatibility with skin. Pure oils, including Camellia Oil, Limnathes Alba Oil and Jojoba Oil, deliver moisture and infuse skin with revitalizing properties." Possibly exclusive to the Chanel website, $120 for 50 ml.

(And note that Chanel has already answered a question there about the scent: "Yes, its delicate scent is described as a white flower accord calling to mind the just-bloomed jasmine flower with its delicate, sweet, fruity and fresh vegetal facet and its smooth floral heart over a base of white musk notes.")

I hope they have samples. I will never use this on my face but will consider using it as hair oil.

Why not on your face? (I’ve never used a facial oil, but I’ve always been quite curious about them.)

My face is sensitive / combination dry and oily. Also, I’m afraid it will be too fragrant.

Don’t know — they say at the moment it is a website exclusive.

I’m tempted. Face oils are great.
Not the biggest fan of jasmine, but I believe Rodin smells of jasmine and Chanel seems to be running to catch up in a few areas. ..besides their frequent bumps in price.

I like facial oils so long as they don’t have silicone. I tried to find the ingredients of this one but failed. But would still rather have that jasmine hydrosol :-)

when i had a chanel facial last year i was told that l’huile de jasmin was exclusively used only for their facials, and has been around for a long time. it’s the most lovely oil, and not too heavily fragranced at all. once it settles into the skin the scent slowly disappears. i had a chance to purchase it during a workshop in december 2016, but i believe it was a 200ml bottle and way above my budget (& needs). now it seems they will be releasing it in 50ml bottles, which will be more reasonable all round ! it’s really a gorgeous oil, and if ever you have a chance to get a chanel massage, go for it !
