The meetup poll, episode 3

Posted by Robin on 11 March 2017 20 Comments

Dior world flower map

(PSA: a "regular" lazy weekend poll is coming up shortly!)

Want to meet local perfumistas? Here's your chance to find out if there's anyone near you who would like to get together to...have coffee? go perfume shopping? attend a local scent-related event? Anything really — this is very loose. You can use this poll to find others for a specific event, or just to build a contact list of local perfumistas for future planning.

It would make it much easier for everyone else (and help prevent duplicate efforts) if the very first words in your post were the name of your city or local area! If you're responding to an existing thread, that's obviously not necessary.

You can also check episode 1 and episode 2 to see if there are already groups meeting regularly in your area.

    1) Tampa Bay Area- for only two more weeks. Leaving the Florida swamp for…
    2) …Coastal North Carolina swamp (right near Croatan National Forest) for about 12 weeks, then…
    3) Go West, woman, dog, and van!

If there is any pefumistas in the mentioned North Carolina area, and you know any good places to go sniffing, please let me know.

    Cheers all!

Lucky you, leaving the swamp! And going west – if you see someone along the road holding a sign saying “will trade perfume for a ride” give a girl a lift, ok? ;-)

    Washington, DC/DMV

We have a large meetup group established in this area, and if you’d like to read more about what we’ve been up to during previous meetups , do check the previous polls that Robin provided links for.

All are welcome to join, and if you have any particular venues you’d like to explore with other perfumistas or just simply get together, you can contact me at: harukirumi in the land of yawhoo. Suggestions are always much appreciated!

Two excellent events will be occurring at Arielle Shoshana in April: Maria McElroy of Aroma M perfumes on Saturday, 4/1/17, and Aedes de Venustas founder Robert Gerstner on Thursday, 4/13/17. Times for both events TBA. Once Ari has announced the times for these events, I’ll send out a group email.

Thank you so much, Holly, and good to see you! FYI, here’s an old but interesting interview with Robert Gerstner. I will definitely try to get to Arielle Shoshana for both of these events.

    San Francisco!

Pixel and I were discussing going up to San Francisco (we’re both down south) for a sniffing day on Sat 25 March. We haven’t discussed shops, but I expect Tigerlily may be on the itinerary! If you’re in the Bay Area on that day and interested in sniffing/hanging out/eating/swapping, please e-mail me at ko bhatta at jeemale dot cawm (no spaces). We can fix an itinerary based on the interests/constraints of those who can come. We look forward to meeting/seeing you!

Aberdeen, Scotland. Would be delighted to find any like-minded people in the area, would save my my dear friend Marion, with whom I visit London every December, from putting up with my perfume forays, although as I have mentioned here before, she is becoming more appreciative of my obsession – it’s only taken 18 years…!

Any Clevelanders out there? I have a ton of perfume samples that I’d love to swap or give away to a good home.

Clevelander here! Like you, I’m up to my eyeballs in samples so I’m not sure I can take any off your hands. Just wanted to say “hi!” Have you been to Indigo yet? I need an excuse to go. So hard to get across that darned river!

Hi there! Yes, I was able to make it to Indigo a few weeks ago and had a lovely experience! I didn’t end up buying anything, but the owner was super friendly and let me leave with two free samples anyway. I’d love to visit again sometime. Are you an East Sider too?

Funny! If I pass someone smelling great at Zagara’s I’ll suspect it could be you. Shoot me an email if you ever want to meet up or carpool to Indigo. Lunagreen428 at gee mail.
