Byredo Bibliotheque ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 22 February 2017 4 Comments

Byredo Bibliothèque

Niche line Byredo has launched Bibliothèque, a new limited edition fragrance based on the brand's candle of the same name.

Bibliothèque transports you to the comforting confines of a traditional library. A world of a quiet contemplation where time stands still and the senses are heightened.

Soft, sweet aromas of velvety peach and tangy plum pervade the air before a dry floral bouquet of peony and violet unfurls notes of nostalgia with a hint of musk. Dusty patchouli finally reveals itself amid layers of leather and vanilla that evoke memories of a favorite armchair and antique able piled high with leather bound tomes of well-worn pages tinged with time.

Byredo Bibliothèque is €160 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum, at Niche Beauty in Germany.

I have this in the candle, and it is so lovely! Really nice for a winter evening when you’re feeling cozy, curled up with a book and a puppy dog.

I don’t why the notes to this fragrance sound so appealing to me. I need to give this one a try. 🙂

This is a lot fruitier than I would expect from a scent called Library. It doesn’t smell like books at all, or even any library I’ve ever been in. It’s pleasant but misnamed for me.
