Posted by Robin on 2 January 2017 14 Comments

Thierry Mugler A*Men Kryptomint

Thierry Mugler will launch A*Men Kryptomint, a new limited edition fragrance for men. A*Men Kryptomint is a flanker to 1997′s A*Men, and follows 2016's A*Men Pure Tonka, among others.

A*Men Kryptomint from Mugler is a new men's fragrance for a hero in search of strong sensations and of outstanding capacities! Like a powerful star, this fragrance will restore his energy instantaneously. It is a superior power sensation for the man pushing himself to excellence and new challenges.

The notes feature frozen peppermint, geranium and patchouli.

Thierry Mugler A*Men Kryptomint will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

A*Hem… not too crazy about the sound of this flanker, but I’m sure I’ll try it when it hits the stores.

Me neither, but who knows, could be fun.

Such an unusual color and combination of notes. Curious to sniff it!

I have a feeling there’s an “ice effect” on that bottle that’s just for the picture? But it is a great teal color.

Funny thread on Basenotes about this one,and Krypton/Kryptonite…sometimes it’s better to just grin from afar.I do like the sound of this. The Ultra Zest bottle burned my eyes so I hope this one is softer in real life.

Kryponite was my first thought, too!

The name and bottle make it a good choice for Sci-Fi Friday. 🙂

The copy must be a translation from another language—French, I suppose?
Bottle is pretty for either gender. Hope the scent is good!

Great name, and bottle color. However, mint is not something I usually get excited about.

Peppermint in perfume is a no-go to me (I remember Cartier Roadster was heavy on it; is still in the market?).

Yup. I didn’t care for it either.

The original A*Men had a peppermint note, certainly not a dominant one but noticeable before all the warm gourmand notes shoved past it. I don’t know if they removed it in the various reformulations that have occurred in the last couple of decades: it never showed up in any of the flankers that I know of.

This sounds kinda wacky, I’ll have to give it a try!

I’ll wait for the reviews to come in, since it’s best to wait for the price to come down anyway, in the event that I actually wanted a bottle. I could have bought 100 ml Kryptomint for under $35 at one time, but it just didn’t sound like anything I’d wear (I already have Roadster for a minty fragrance).
