It’s not Beyonce

Posted by Robin on 21 October 2016 17 Comments

Over the past few decades, putting out a signature perfume has become a standard move for any celebrity — but who remains the most dominant in the fragrance industry? Here are some hints: It’s not Beyoncé. It’s not Taylor Swift. It’s not even Kim Kardashian.

It’s Britney, bitch.

This article seems like a Midnight Fantasy, but now I’m Curious. ;)

Interesting! The part about Britney beeing a fragrance fan and thats the key to success rings true. BUT the best pice of journalism thats ever been written about Britney and her fragrances is by Tynan Buck fom XoJane. Read it! http://www.xojane.com/beauty/best-britney-spears-perfumes-reviews

Ah, another one who thinks Believe was her best! But it obviously did not suit her market.

I know! Hilarious bit passionate and at the same time serious. I think it’s brilliant.

Yes, I had read that xojane article when it first came out and cracked up! I also feel that among celebrity scents, Britney’s are some of the best (Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy are faves of mine, and even though Believe didn’t appeal to me as much, it was VERY nicely done). She certainly has always seemed to take more of a personal interest in her fragrances than many celebs (Sarah Jessica Parker very much excluded, of course). Perhaps it’s telling that, according to what I’ve read, her signature scent before she launched her own line was not, as one might expect, some fruity-shampoo concoction from Bath & Body Works or the like, but rather Estee Lauder’s rich and sophisticated Beautiful.

Hmmm. I thought it would be JLO.

I would be very surprised if J Lo did not make more money from perfume than Britney over the long term.

This is obviously very old, but I’ve always been interested in how much they make from fragrances. But would you say that JLO and Britney are pretty much the queens of celeb fragrances (in terms of earnings)?

Do you mean all time sales, or who is doing best right now?

Celeb sales have changed quite a bit, most celeb fragrances are only sold in discount stores now. Bear in mind that I don’t have any sort of special knowledge or access to sales figures, but if I had to guess who was making the most money at the moment, I’d guess Kim Kardashian, who is now selling directly from her website via social media.

All time sales? I really don’t know. Would think it was still J Lo or Britney.
