O’Driu Italian Angel & Gothic Angel ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 18 August 2016 7 Comments

O'Driù Italian Angel

Italian niche line O'Driù has launched two new fragrances, Italian Angel and Gothic Angel.

Italian Angel (shown) ~ introduced in 2015. "Sparkling with life and clever flourishes, it is an innovative unisex vetiver, blooming with jasmine, rose, and wonderfully distinct notes including cocoa and a lush, surprising and wonderful banana accord. A base of Tuscan tobacco and citrus and rich coffee sparkles with quintessentially Italian themes, cementing Italian Angel as a fragrance fully engaged with the passions and pleasures of [Angelo Orazio] Pregoni's homeland."

Gothic Angel ~ introduced in 2016. "Drawing inspiration from the concepts of grotesquerie and contradiction, Pregoni uses the heaviness of notes like frankincense, tobacco, amber and wormwood against themselves, bringing in a dose of luscious florals and arresting musks to give luminous, positive energy to the supposedly gothic elements."

O'Driù Italian Angel and Gothic Angel can be found now at Luckyscent, $165 each for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

Hey, even with the humor aside I think you owe it to yourself to try it. Plus, vetiver with banana! You don’t see that every day.

Can’t you just imagine the meeting for Italian Angel. A breakfast meeting…the design exec is sipping espresso and smoking a cigar, the marketing exec is drinking a soy-carob-banana smoothie, the perfumer has a row of blotters on the table. They need a decision NOW. Tempers fray…the designer angrily stubs out his cigar on one blotter, and wipes a spill of coffee off his pucci tie with another. The marketing exec panics, reaches forward and accidentally knocks her smoothie, splashing the vetiver accord. A horrified silence …and at that moment Angelo arrives, scoops up all the blotters , raises them to his nose and murmurs, Bellissimo!

      Fantastic story.

Nothing will get me to try the Italian Angel though. I don’t like banana at all and cannot stand the smell of it.
