Avon Prima ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 8 August 2016 5 Comments

Avon Prima

Avon will launch Prima, a new floral chypre fragrance for women, in November.

Avon revealed its newest fragrance, Prima, and the face of the scent: America Ballet Theatre Dancer Courtney Lavine. The fragrance celebrates female strength and resilience, as inspired by the grace and beauty of a ballet dance.

“Being a professional ballet dancer is about so much more than looking pretty and perfecting your pirouettes. It takes drive, dedication and self-resilience which is why I’m so proud to be working with Avon – a company that’s committed to empowering women through beauty and entrepreneurship.” Says Lavine. “Plus, Prima is such a delicate yet powerful fragrance; it makes me feel pretty and poised at the same time.

Prima opens with lush top notes of plum, balancing its sweetness with a hint of tangy bergamot. Next, it unfolds to reveal a rich heart of intoxicating rose, a stunning blossom with ruffled pink petals that echo the folds of a dancer’s skirt. Finally, there’s a jeté torich clearwood, reminiscent of the satiny barres in a ballet studio, the woodsy note comes alive on skin, melding with oak moss and patchouli for a warm, poetically graceful finish.

Avon Prima was developed by perfumers Frank Voelkl and Harry Fremont. It will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $30.

Agree — much nicer bottle than the one they’re doing for Kenzo, too.

“oak moss”? I thought it was banned.

Not banned, just restricted, plus you never know when a note is natural vs. synthetic.

Yes and synthetics can be quite beautiful and more consistent/stable. Even more costly and safer for the skin. I love this scent and the pointe shoe-shaped bottle.
