Thierry Mugler Angel Muse ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 3 March 2016 29 Comments

Thierry Mugler Angel Muse

Thierry Mugler will launch Angel Muse, a new 'gourmand vetiver' fragrance for women, next month. Angel Muse is a flanker to 1992's Angel, and launches under the tag line "the new addiction you will #HateToLove". The fragrance is fronted by Georgia May Jagger.

In 1992, Thierry Mugler imagined Angel, a fragrance that had never been experienced before: the first olfactory gourmandize, today still as inspiring as it was then. Like Angel in its time, Angel Muse definitely is unprecedented, spicing up the Gourmand territory: it's about a vibrant duo where sweetness meets a sensual mystery... An explosive hazelnut cream and vetiver. It is the very first "Gourmand Vetiver", a perfect balance between:

Gourmandise of a new kind: subtle, soft, smooth, yet dangerously irresistible... an overdose of hazelnut cream. Attractive and appetizing.

Magnetism with vetiver, one of the finest woody notes borrowed to masculine perfumery for the first time. A distinctive vibration grazes the skin with a timeless elegance and character.

Thierry Mugler Angel Muse will be available in Eau de Parfum; I will update with sizes when I can.

(via mugler.fr)

Update: Angel Muse is available in 30 and 50 ml refillable bottles.

An Angel for people who hate that dirty, dirty patchouli? My skin fast forwards through all that treacly sweet stuff and I get mostly patchouli from the current EDP. I was interested until the hazelnut part……

Whereas nutty vetiver sounds fantastic to me. But we’ll see…

I am an unapologetic fan of this house and should not have been so instantly dismissive. I will seek it out too.

LOVE the bottle, which evokes a dozen things at once (Star Trek communicator, jewellery, magic mirror, alien headgear). Love the colour of the juice. Hazelnuts and vetiver? Yes please!

Nobody does flankers like the House of Mugler. I will have to try this and Pure Tonka next time I’m in a properly big city.

Agree…glad they did not do another star-shaped bottle.

I thought it looked like Star Trek communicator too! I’m also glad they didn’t do the star bottle this time.

Hazelnut and vetiver – was this maybe inspired by Hermessence Vetiver Tonka?

My first thought, as well. There HAVE been sort of gourmand-ish vetivers before, I don’t know what they’re talking about. Plenty that mix those two notes, too: Hermessence VT, Aedes Signature, Etro Vetiver, etc.

Should add, though, that if it’s the hazelnut cream note from Mugler Miroir des Envies, I will be quite happy.

I am a huge fan of the original Angel and the Angel Eau Sucree (which I am wearing today…I craved candy 😀
So I have great hope for this. I like the notes but I dunno about the bottle..I have to see it in person 🙂

Although I generally dislike Angel the flankers have actually been okay. I haven’t been enchanted by any of them yet, but a vetiver gourmand sounds really good. Hopefully it will be released near me, unlike the our flankers. 🙁

I’ve liked if not loved more Angel flankers than most other perfumes, so very much look forward to trying this one. It sounds really nice for summer. I hope they aren’t getting rid of Eau Sucree, however, since I totally adore that one.

Vetiver Tonka fattened up? I want to try!
Plus that bottle looks pretty stunning (though looking at it, I am pretty sure it does not stand but rather lay flat like those Bvlgari 20ml bottles)

Wow. I love vetiver. I’ve never smelled the Vetiver Tonka… but I’ve come to respect that TM house does with fragrances – risks and all – and some really interesting formulas, so I’ll probably seek this one out.

I’ll be looking for this too. I’m hoping the Vetiver will be the key to keeping this Angel from giving me a cavity.

This sounds very interesting. The #HatetoLove is very funny! I wonder if it was meant to be?

I’ll join the chorus here: I’m not an Angel fan, but this sounds really good. Apparently I’m a hazelnut fan. I can’t wait to try this one and hope I run into it soon!

A little late, but I am also very excited to try this. I love Angel on other people, but hate it on me. Hopefully this one will work.
