Bvlgari Goldea ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 15 July 2015 24 Comments

Isabeli Fontana for Bvlgari Goldea

Bvlgari will launch Goldea, a new pillar fragrance for women. Goldea was inspired by gold and is described as "a bright, golden musk symphony"; the target market is women 30+.

The floriental fragrance was developed by perfumer Alberto Morillas, and features notes of crystal musk, orange blossom, bergamot, raspberry, golden musk, ylang ylang, jasmine, velvet musk, amber accord, patchouli and papyrus.

Bvlgari Goldea will be available in 25, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum. It will debut in October but will not reach the US until 2016.

I just saw this on Fragrantica. I’m always excited for a new Bulgari, although this one might have one or two musks to many for my taste.

It’s been a long time since they’ve done a pillar I liked….Omnia, in fact! But I will be hopeful.

Ditto that on the musks – he forgot to put in some white musk too!

They had me at “musk symphony.” This will most definitely be getting a sniff (in 2016).

I’ll always try a new Bulgari too, especially if it’s by Morillas because Omnia. God that’s a horrible name though.

Isn’t it awful? It’s supposed to be “gold” + “dea” (latin for goddess).

It seems like something an unimaginative child would name a fairy: “The fairy of gold is called Goldea, and the fairy of ruby is Rubea, and the diamond one is Diamondea…”

That name is so bad, it’s like they didn’t even try. Trying to dance around the term of white musk I guess. This will be too musky for me I am sure. Raspberry isn’t a fave either. I liked Coral some..that was last BVL I liked. It has a nice pomegranate note good for springtime.

Wait… Targeted to 30plus women? Wha! Who thought there was life over that! :-P it seems like the target market of anything nowadays is dewy young…
I like the idea. Gimme more! Womanly power requires a certain experience and self confidence only years can bring.
The name sounds good to my Hungarian ears:-)

    Hi Robin!
Is there any news of someone new doing creative direction for them? (or a change of licensee) I am suspicious as this new launch also comes with the Black Tea and Blue Tea launches… And the ad seems a little off… I mean it does the typical tie-in with a jewelry item…
Goldea sounds weird to me… well maybe I just need to get used to the name LOL.

And to think that before Eau Parfumee au the vert they didn’t have a perfume business…. JCE is a rainmaker! :-D

And of course I will try it!

No, they are still with LVMH. I do know who does the creative direction…creative directors are, at this point, way more “forgotten” than perfumers — they get almost no publicity whatsoever.

The blue tea is launching now. The Black tea, I suspect, is limited distribution so “doesn’t count”. This launches late 2015/early 2016. So I doubt they see it as “all at once”.

Interesting tid bit from WWD: the Omnia series is now 1/3 of their total fragrance business. Amazing, given that the original isn’t even in production. So my guess is that they want a pillar that skews older than the Omnia series.

I understand… Though I would re-launch the Original Bulgari pour femme via a “eau premiere” makeover, like Lancome did with “Tresor in Love”… But yeah, new is good.

The original Omnia was so cool to me, not that I would wear it, but it was bold and feminine.

Also the Omnia Coral and Omnia Indian Garnet were nice.

Maybe this should be called Bvlgari Floriental a la CdG’s.

It sounded fabulous until I saw raspberry. :/ Just an assortment of golden musks and ambers with patchouli would have been stellar. I tend to do well with Bvlgari though, so I’ll at least give it a try.

My thoughts exactly, raspberry is usually a deal breaker but I like a lot of Bulgari scents. Looking forward more to the new teas.

I haven’t truly smelled one Bad Bvlgari Fragrance… Ok… some of those Jasmin Noir Flankers became Ludicrously Tiresome, But Jasmin Noir as a fragrance alone is Splendid! I Also, LOVE The Name. It’s sounds Exotic, Maybe even a Slight Bit Dangerous… Like a Gorgeous Woman that Seduces but takes no Crap, Ya Know! Maybe like some Female Bond Villan! Expensive, Glamourous… DEADLY! ;-)

The only thing I am hoping for is that those musks that are being talked about aren’t that HORRIFYING Synthetic Urinous Musk that you smell in SO SO SO Many Frags that is like a Phillips Screwdriver being Jammed into my Olfactory Nerve! YIKES!

Anyway, I have High hopes for this… and that bottle…. INSTANT COVET!

P.S. Does that bottle remind anyone somewhat of the Original Jean Patou Sublime Bottle???? Perhaps…..????

TheNoseKnows, That bottle def. looks like the Patou Sublime, with less ribbing if I recall.
That reminds me, I need to purchase another bottle of Sublime……
