Pierre Guillaume Collection Croisiere ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 18 March 2015 13 Comments

Pierre Guillaume Collection Croisière

Pierre Guillaume of French niche line Parfumerie Générale has launched a new quartet of fragrances under his own name: Pierre Guillaume Collection Croisière (Cruise Collection). The four fragrances, Entre Ciel et Mer, Jangala, Paris Seychelles and Long Courrier are inspired by the sea, travel and movement, but are not "traditional" aquatics; four more fragrances are expected to follow in the series.

Entre Ciel et Mer ~ a fruity aromatic based on a molecular distillation of algae, with lavender, pear, thyme, iodine, lichen, amber, musk, cedar and sandalwood.

Jangala ~ inspired by an Indonesian jungle, the woody aromatic features eucalyptus leaves, cardamom, rosewood, ginger lily, sandalwood, vetiver, coconut.

Paris Seychelles ~ 'Exotic white flowers with the allure of Saint Germain de Près', with notes of white flowers, salicylates, frangipane, lily, monoï, coconut milk, galbanum, black pepper, ginger and petit grain.

Long Courrier ~ a solar oriental with orange, elemi, cedar, salt, vanilla, cocoa powder, musk and amber.

Pierre Guillaume Entre Ciel et Mer, Jangala, Paris Seychelles and Long Courrier are available now at Parfumeria Gini in Rome, €160 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

It doesn’t seem like there’s as much focus on Phaedon

Sorry to sound pessimistic but I guess after the ‘success’ of his Tobacco Vanille plagiarist “Tabac Rouge” he’s decided to do his take on the Tom Ford Neroli Portofino aquatics line, right down to the blue glass.

I feel like he has been spreading himself thinner and thinner over the years. Between Phaedon, Huitieme, PG and now this it seems like he’s aiming for quantity over quality. Where did the talented man who created Coze, Bois Blond and Aomassai disappear to?

uh oh, I am in the minority I guess, but both Jungala and Long Courrior sound great. I like a lot of his fragrances, no matter what line its under.

If the glass is blue I like the bottles – if the juice is blue, no go. ;)
OT – Robin, are the Chanel Exclusifs in the KoP Mall? Neiman, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales? TIA for your response.

I am not 100% sure (I have such a terrible memory!) but I don’t think so, I think you’ve got to go to Saks.

Seriously, if something is exclusive to Saks it might as well be exclusive to the moon as far as I’m concerned.

I’m not sure what monoi has to do with Saint Germain de Près, but that’s not going to stop me from wanting to try this.
