Happy Tuesday! Hope it's warmer where you are than it is here. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm still in Parfum d'Empire Azemour les Orangers.
Upcoming: we have two community projects this week. On Friday (2/6), we're celebrating National Grapefruit month. Wear a fragrance with grapefruit; extra credit if Grapefruit (or Pamplemousse or Pomelo or whatever) is in the name of the scent.
Then on Sunday (2/8), we're celebrating this blog's 10th birthday: wear a fragrance you learned about on Now Smell This, whether from a review, another reader, a swap, anything.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2015, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

SOTD: La Petite Robe Noire L’Extrait. Planned last night to wear some rose/chypre e.g. Knowing but got up this morning and craved something sweet instead. 😛
I just bought a small bottle of LPRN Couture and its been very comforting in this cold weather. I’ll bet the Extrait is nice too.
The extrait is my favourite actually 🙂 It is closer to LPRN than couture though. Definitely a dark syrupy cherry and liquorice centric scent. It stays close to your skin but satisfyingly so 😉
Enchanted Forest. It’s actually not blackcurrant-y enough for me. I want something that really makes my jaw muscles tense up.
LOL! So, does the fragrance with enough blackcurrant for you exist?
Pulp is close!!
Ah, of course.
I like Enchanted Forest although I don’t wear it much… did not like Pulp, which I found very sweet, like a melted frozen fruit bar.
Several people mentioned Iris 39 yesterday, so I’m going to use up some of the last of my little sample.
Might need more…
Save those pennies 😉
You know, this little sample lasted me such a long time, I think doing a little dabber sample in the meantime will work for me.
Also – sincerest congratulations on ten years of a truly great blog. It’s such a source of comfort and community to so many, myself included.
So few blogs last this long. It’s a testament to the quality of your work and the environment you’ve created. Well done indeed.
Thank you so much!
Guerlain Samsara. I haven’t worn it in a while and I’d forgotten how much I like it , tho I may have over applied this morning…
I love Samara…I have the “older” coffin bottle with the hold top.
Lovely! I’ve just started to ‘get’ this one.
It took me a while to “get” this one as well. Loving it best with a light application.
Wearing Hiris, as I wanted a light work friendly scent. Perfect as always. I wouldn’t mind a bottle of Azemour either, it’s been on my wish list for a while now.
And I would not mind a fresh bottle of Hiris…mine is gone off, poor thing.
I think mine’s gone off a bit too. Not as crisp up top, but the dry down is still nice.
Oh, I’m sorry about your Hiris. You got me hooked on it, actually. I seem to remember it to be one of your favourites.
I’ve been very lucky so far. Most of my fragrances are still fine. Must be the temperate zone I live in.
I’ve only lost a fraction of full bottles, but still, perhaps we let our house get a bit too hot in the summer? Have lost way more decants, though.
Most of my perfumes are in cupboards in my bedroom which is facing North, so it doesn’t get that hot in summer. My fragile fragrances live in the fridge. If I had more space I would get myself a huge winecooler and put the whole lot in there.
While I feel it’s a little chilly down here in the swamplands, I’m pretty sure I have nothing to complain about regarding temperatures!
But chilly days like this are perfect for PdE Cuir Ottoman, which warms me to the cockles of my little heart <3 <3 <3
My decant is rapidly dwindling and I can't even think about those 100ml bottles 🙁
Cuir Ottoman is lovely.
It is.
SOTD is Le Roi Empereur (Rance)
SSS Winter Woods today, though the scent feels more romantic about winter than I do at the moment. (Still love it even though we disagree about the weather, though!)
My SOTD is Pink Molecule by Zarko Perfume — elderflower, apricot, and creamy woods and not very sweet.
Fumigating everybody at work with some vintage Ambre Sultan.
This one is really odd, too little and it’s barely there, just a tad too much and it’s nuclear sillage.
Ha!
Giving my sample of Fracas (the original, but current EDP) another whirl. It’s not a scrubber, but the peach is so domineering and overripe I don’t think I’d be able to handle the decomposition on a warmer day. It is just starting to smell less fruity and more floral now, finally… I like it a lot better at this stage. My office is freezing. Drinking lots of tea for warmth.
Oops- that should have been it’s own comment! Fracas has previous little to do with Ambre Sultan, though both are loud in large doses!
Indeed. Or even small ones 😉
Interesting, Fracas is quite peachy on me as well. Need either Carnal Flower or Moon Bloom if I want intensive tuberose (and I never hear others mention it).
I’m glad it’s not just me! I was expecting a tuberose bomb and instead I got Giant Peach. I love Carnal Flower (I miss my tiny decant!) and hope to try Moon Bloom someday.
I don’t get peach out of Fracas, but I get a nuclear ton of soapy orange blossom. Which comes across as a giant vat of cold cream, and which nobody else ever mentions.
Nuclear sillage – what a great turn of phrase!
I was inspired by yesterday’s Love Story review and decided to wear Love, Chloe today. I think I’ll skip the flanker, though!
Caleche, because it’s the perfect i-don’t-know-what-to-wear-today-and-i’m-running-late scent
Caleche is my all-time favorite and hands down I get more compliments on this scent than any other I have ever worn. Plus, it’s my husband’s favorite so it’s a win-win!
Lol – My “running late scent” is either Caleche, Baiser Vole, or Chanel Beige. Light, pretty, inoffensive for work, cheery!
Dzing today. It’s just right for a slightly chilly day, like Deva’s Cuir Ottoman above.
^5 to leather lovers!
I love Dzing! Got my bottle cheaply on ebay a loooong time ago, and it is still by favourite Artisan.
Oh, thanks for the reminder–I’ve got it on now too! Have recently parted ways with someone who didn’t care for it, need to start making up for lost time 🙂
Fate by amouage-
Nice powdery fragrance for a gray day!
Oh, I have a much loved decant of this one- You smell trés sophisticated!
I really want to test this!
I’ll send you a sample, Ann. Anything else?
Oh, I”m sure I’ll think of something!!
Vanille Noire du Mexique by La Maison de la Vanille. Much less sweet than you would expect. Just gorgeous.
Hi, scent twin, I’m joining you in this today!
Love it too! It was my first non-department store scent purchase many many years ago – they used to carry it at Anthropologie. Also probalby the only bottle I’ve ever bought a second one of!
Oh pyramus, I just received the sample box of five vanillas for my birthday. Each little bottle is 15 ml., which should last me a long time. I can’t wait to try them and will start with Vanille Noire du Mexique tomorrow!
Ooh, happy birthday, Farouche!
Thank you! (It was last Tuesday.)
Happy Belated Birthday!
I’m in the Cuir Mauresque/Rose Anonyme pairing I tried for Layering Friday. It’s still a beautiful combination. Mmmm.
Not Layering Friday – Oud Friday.
I’m going to try this combo!
That’s a great idea. I’m going to give it a whirl as well. Thanks for the tip.
I hope you’ll both enjoy it as much as I do. (Elisa, it’s smooth and will unclench your jaw.) 🙂
I am wearing Vintage Fidji , I am enjoying this so much.
You smell FABULOUS! It was my first great perfume love affair.
Thank you, It was one of my first loves too
Today I put on some Mandragore from one of my Annick Goutal samples. Continuing working through the samples…
Lovely in the summer — I keep it in the fridge.
Finishing up a sample of AG Musc Nomade. Another nice but I can live without it scent.
It amuses me sometimes how other scents/stimuli influence my choice of fragrance. Last night’s dinner beverage – Leinenkugel’s (aptly named) Winter’s Bite Cocoa Spice Black Lager – inspired my choice of Vanille Noir de Mexique topped off with Pacifica Mexican Cocoa. Fortunately, I don’t smell like beer, just yummy dark cocoa/vanilla/spice deliciousness!
That reminds me I have a small solid of Mexican Cocoa I should put in my purse. And I can try that combo since I have the Mexique as well!
My gosh, that sounds like a heavenly beer! My favorite chocolate perfume is still SJP’s Covet. I have the Pacifica in soap form.
Yes, Winter’s Bite is delicious (not affiliated, etc.). And I also enjoy the chocolate note in Covet, I find it to be a very versatile scent and like to wear it in the spring. With its lemon and geranium leave notes as well as the chocolate, it becomes a different scent depending upon which lotion I layer it with.
Another person wearing Mandragore here. I just thought about how nice it is and had to put some on.
SOTD is FM Noir Epices. I love the green aspects of it, it is a an amazing winter scent.
On my way home I got to try the new Smoky Poppy at The Body Shop. I found a grain of something green and bitter but it was almost immediately engulfed in an avalanche of vanillic powder. Not something for me = money saved :).
Noir Epices is stunning!
I am waiting till winter to wear mine too!Soooo good
Agreed on Smoky Poppy. Just stopped in TBS in the Charlotte airport (on my way to National Cattlemen’s convention in San Antonio with The CEO) to smell it and whatever rose body butter they had. It was Atlas Mtn Rose, and I was definitely underwhelmed by both.
Congratulations on the just about 10 years anniversary. That’s an achievement.
I’m wearing Arabie. I love this one. It’s a gourmand spicy perfume that is lovely on a cold and rainy day. I was cooking vegetable soup today and I had just sprayed the perfume on and my partner asked if I’d used Moroccan spices in the soup!!
Thank you!
SOTD Bvlgari Omnia. Hitting the spot today.
Wearing Caron Acaciosa parfum today. I started out in a sample of Oriza L. Legrand Reve d’Ossian but had to scrub it. It smelled like lye and wallpaper paste on me and I had high hopes for it, too. I like churchy incense, but not this one.
R’Oud Elements for me. I have no idea why this works for me today but it does. Sometimes it’s so rough and sharp I can’t stand it and sometimes it’s herbal and interesting. Today I’m finding it full bottle worthy, partially because I love the Kerosene bottles and don’t have any 🙁 I think I still like Black Vines best though…probably. Obviously, I’m very indecisive today and I’m arranging the books in the den so not being very effective.
I think you are my scent twin! I love Black Vines too! Santa brought me a bottle for Christmas so if you would like more I would be happy to send you a decant. Let me know! I always find something different to love every time I sample a Kerosene fragrance. I wore the R’oud for oud day and hung up a dress this morning that still had a ghost of this lingering in it. R’oud Elements reminds me of some of my favorite Japanese incenses. Do you have a favorite Serge Lutens? I am still struggling to find the one. There is just a note in most of them that does not work on my skin. Arranging books makes me want to sit down and look at the books instead of putting them away!
I have been wondering if you and I share similar skin chemistry and tastes. I ordered a moderate sized decant of BV not too long ago, but thanks for the offer!
As for the books, my husband was working in the garage right below the den so every time he stopped hearing me tromp around he checked to be sure I hadn’t gotten sidetracked. Made me much more efficient, I can tell you.
SOTD is vintage (1980) Quartz.
SOTD is Eau Clair des Merveilles. This is not working for the cool weather today, I smell virtually nothing though in the summer I love this greatly. Hm, I see a switch coming.
Bvlgari Black today again. One of many I could wear in Sunday.
Robin, congratulations on the anniversary! I’m sure to repeat myself on the actual celebration thread, but thank you for all of your hard work that must go down behind the scene. Love the blog, love the community, love how great we all smell!
And I will repeat myself Sunday too, but the community is why I’m still blogging after all this time 🙂
Well put! This is a lovely place.
SOTD is helping me feel more warm and elegant than the snowy weather does – Chanel Bois des Iles extrait. Even my husband commented that my fragrance smells “pretty” today, so that’s a bonus!
Oh! I so want to try this one! I really like the EDT but I’m hoping the extrait will be maybe smoother.
The extrait is smoother and it also has less sillage. I like them both for different reasons, but you won’t go wrong with either.
I only know that one in EDT. I went for Cuir de Russie in extrait last year, no regrets at all, so polished.
Love the extrait! I kept trying the EdT because everyone so loves it, but my skin just ATE it. Gone in 45 minutes, none of the lovely sandalwood dry down everyone ooh’s and aah’s over. Finally got a sample of the extrait and — ooh, ahh, mmm. THERE’s the reason everyone loves it!
I had a sample of pre -Les Exclusifs edt and it lasted a long time. LE, not so much.
yeah this was an LE sample. aldehydes, poof, gone!
I had the same result with the edt. Maybe someday I’ll try the extrait, but for now, money saved.
SOTD is FM Vetiver Extroidonaire. First time trying it, and I’m not too crazy about it. I was expecting to love it, but there is some weird note I can’t place and don’t like.
This one smells really great on my husband but a little weird on me
I’m going through a vetiver-obsessed stage but for some reason this one just doesn’t do it for me. Or Sycamore! There is nothing that makes me want to re-sniff my wrist when I try either of them.
Sycomore is too bitter or something – just doesn’t work for me. But VE just melts into my skin like butter. Love it.
Oh good –
if you’re at all interested, I have an 100 mL 85% full bottle of Provence Sante Vetiver. It smells really good, but runs just a tad too masculine for me. I purchased it at Merz Apothecary in Chicago, it’s not widely distributed, I don’t think.
http://www.smallflower.com/provence-sante/vetiver-eau-de-toilette-3.5oz-spray-28107
If interested, email me at kgoodw2@hotmail.com 🙂
Wearing DelRae Panache today. I didn’t care for it the first time I sampled it, though I think I had high hopes from Robin’s review and its comparison to Chene, one of my true loves. Liking it better today.
Hallo NST!Robin, not sure if you remember this, but some 3 years back I made a desperate plea to you on twitter:to help me find and connect with Miss Merlin(fellow South African perfumista!!!)You then contacted her,and connected us!Thats was awesome,as she is my perfumed-bestie.So thank you for that, because indirectly you helped me discover L’Artisan’s Vanilia!Which lead to the rabbit hole opening up very very VERY wide!!SOTD!Mister Marvelous Cologne by Byredo.Lovely.Just Lovely!Happy Tuesday people!
And of course congrats on the fantastic 10-year milestone! That’s just awesome. And thank you for the laughs, lessons, connections and for making it possible for a Perfumistahood to exist, all around the world!
So glad to get the 2 of you hooked up, that’s great!
Ahem, ahem *clears throat*
You, Mr Johanob, were well down the rabbit hole when we first met. In fact, we found each other sniffing at the fumes from the caterpillar’s hookah, which, I may remind you, is well into Wonderland…
Robin, i hereby declare you – Queen of Noses! (and can I please please please keep my head 😉 )
LOL!
Lol M,all true…The Rabbit-hole was already a few miles deep when we met, caused by Gran’s Moon Drops and my Mom’s Madame Rochas. One day(MAYBE!)I’ll come clean, and divulge the ACTUAL size of my collection…(Merlin has an idea…haha!)Here’s to many more discoveries/discussions and SNIFFATHONS!!hehe.
Started my day with HdP Ambre 114. So tired that I my have to switch to something sweet to pick me up!!
Russian Tea, I keep reaching for it or Tango these snowy days.
I’m officially sick! There, I’ve said it! I’ve been trying to ignore it for a while, but coughing way to much today to avoid it!
This morning I sprayed on Messe de Minuit. It’s a reformulated version and it certainly does not have the same gravitas it once had, but today… today all I can smell is Pez candy! Am-I crazy? Am-I just too grumpy? Time to go back to bed I think.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. I hate being sick, especially when it makes my sense of smell go wonky. :/
Get well soon, it’s awful to feel too sick to sniff ( or eat 😉 )
LOL!! I never said I was too sick to eat!! LOL
I always feed a sick! I punish the illness by over feeding it!
Sorry that was just me giggling! Feel better!
I dabbed some Vero Profumo Rozy from a very generous fairy! Not sure wether it’s the Voile d’Extrait or Extrait de parfum, but it is something special. Less rose-y than I thought it would be. I feel like this is the kind of scent that needs multiple wearings before one gets to really know it.
I’m in Penhaligon’s Peoneve. I like soft fresh florals in the winter – it’s really the only time I wear them and this one is nice. The greenery in it reminds me a bit of Baiser Volé. Not FBW worthy for me, but I drained a 10 ml decant, no problem.
I wore the original Agent Provocateur today, and it might not be completely suitable for cubicle-wear, but it’s so icy and desolate here today I needed some oomph. I hope my coworkers didn’t mind, no comments at least! Post-shower, for the night, I’m wearing a Weleda citrus body oil under Atelier Cologne’s Blanche Immortelle with several warm blankets, attempting to block out Sweden in February. It’s working pretty well for now!
And congratulations on the blog anniversary! I’ve been following for a pretty long time, though I only delurked rather recently, and I’ve been consistently impressed with the quality of all contributors’ writing, the warm and inviting, un-snobby tone, and the active and friendly community. Wonderful work!
Thank you, and thanks for de-lurking!
Welcome, Parley!
Had enough time this morning to consider perfumes rather than pick a go-to, office-friendly fragrance and now have on ELO Eau de Protection.
SOTD is Balenciaga Florabotanica – a perfect antidote to the piles of snow we got in Chicago.
I dug into some samples today and ended up wearing Malle’s En Passant on one arm and Musc Ravageur on the other. Mmmmmm! I’m a little surprised how well they work together. I think I will do the same thing tomorrow, and probably the day after that! I might be in trouble with these Malles. I was already saving up for a bottle of Carnal Flower and now I need to add En Passant and MR to the list… sigh
Have you seen the little 10ml refill bottles on Malle’s site? I have enough perfume to not want anymore bottles, but I’m always tempted by the small sizes.
Yes! I was very excited when they released those. I keep getting caught up on the full bottle being cheaper per mL (and feeling better in my hand), but in reality I will never go through an entire bottle. I need to talk myself into settling for the 10 mL bottles. They are easier to travel with..
Guerlain Vétiver. Perfection.
Does this work nicely in winter too? I need to wait a few months before I can buy it, but I have been worrying about whether it will work in the cold…
Merlin, for what it’s worth, I like it better in the winter because of the tonka base. That made it a bit too sweet in the dry down for me in warm weather.
Well, I’ve never tried it during winter! All I can say is that it feels perfect in the insane heat we are enduring. 🙂
Yep, have you tried any other vetivers?
Haven’t tried that many yet. Terre d’Hermès is too masculine for me. Coeur de Vetiver Sacré smells oddly like overripe starfruit gathering under the tree. Amouage Dia Man is a warmer vetiver that I truly love. And I adore Sycomore. Deciding if I need a FB of it or the Guerlain is a great conundrum in my life.
If you would like to try some more:
Goutal Vetiver; not the cologne but the original
Lalique; Encre Noir
MPG: Racine & Route de Vetiver
Etro; Vetiver
I like Sycomore but I don’t need it. If you want to try a truly powerful vetiver you may wish to try the LesNez Turtles; I’ve got 3 samples of Back and it nearly cleared my sinuses in a good way.
Thank’s for the list, I’ll get samples of these on my next order!
Have you tried the Terre d’Hermes Eau Fraiche version? Or tried layering Td’H with Gueain Mandarin Basilic – heaven!
I just tried Mandarine Basilic a few days ago, and loved it! Will try your two suggestions. Terre Eau Fraiche review sounded very appealing, as I remember it.
Started off in Tarocco Orange. But by afternoon it was really hot and to counteract noon fatigue I added a spray of Private Collection. Post shower I am spending the evening in Dior’s Vetiver layered with Eau de Baux.
How do you like Dior Vetiver, Merlin?
I LOVE Dior’s Vetiver. It also has quite a sweet and warm dry down. The main accent is coffee which makes it quite cosy. But, it also has the green feel of the vetiver. It is a less complex smell than the Guerlain – far less citrus, if any and without the aromatic tobacco. It is quite elegant and luxe smelling. I want to say that the vetiver smells like the best quality ever, but the truth is I don’t really know what good vrs bad vetiver smells like, so I can’t really explain that impression. I think the Guerlain is most likely a better deal for summer because of that citrus and aromatic feel. The Guerlain may be more interesting, but I feel like the Dior is somehow better quality and has more depth (could well be that this impression comes from knowing the Dior is more expensive!) I thought, however, that the Dior would quell my interest in the Guerlain, and it hasn’t! One impressive thing about the Dior is that it layers very well with ambers: it complements their warmth but adds a tinge of green 🙂
I’m wearing Paris in my pits. Because I’m perverse.
Or because you like the letter ‘p’ 😉
I drew the line at Penhaglion.
🙂
Wearing Ava Luxe Incense and feeling sad. Not because of the scent – which is very nice indeed – but because I just got home from taking my foster kitten back to the humane society. They asked me (I’m a volunteer there) to take her a month ago because she was such a terrified little thing that no one would want to adopt her. So I brought her home for some socialization. After the unpromising start of two days of hiding under the bed, she slowly started coming out of her shell. Last night she was bouncing around all over the house, playing and then finally falling asleep next to me on the sofa. I felt like a horrible person when I took her back. I know it’s the only way she’ll find the forever home she deserves, but it was hard on both of us (for a number of reasons, including Mr. Aparatchick and I are allergic to cats, we can’t keep her). Big Sigh. Maybe I need to buy some more perfume to cheer me up.
Aw, I’m sorry. That’s got to be rough. I bet you made a huge difference in the kitten’s life, though, and your care (and also your insight into her personality) will be the reason someone finds the cat they’re going to fall in love with.
Good point–it’s sad not to be able to keep her, but nothing to feel guilty about. You made it possible for someone else to give her a permanent home!
As a fellow cat-allergy sufferer, it would be impossible to have kept her. Just a no-can-do. But it sounds like you really fell in love. I’m sorry 🙁
Oh gosh, I relate to this so much–wish terribly that I could get a dog but for a variety of reasons out of my control, it’s really not an option. Sometimes I torture myself by looking at dogs on Petfinder :/ So sorry. I think probs you do need a little perfume pick-me-up.
Aww, you have such a generous heart to do that – it doesn’t sound easy. Maybe you could treat yourself to something when she’s adopted? That way it will be only associated with that happiness, rather than with this difficult day.
Fostering is such heartbreaking work — but thank you so much for doing it!!! I hope you were able to “medicate” with some lovely perfume.
SOTD: Bottega Veneta’s Knot
I’ve finally figured out that I’m an orange blossom lover in pretty much any form. This one is not too sweet and has a lovely aromatic quality to it with the lavender.
Weather-wise, it is absolutely frigid outdoors today in NYC! My puffer plus hat, gloves & scarf, is not even cutting it.
I miss a lot of things about Chicago, but not the bitter cold. I used to double up on gloves and socks, and wear a shawl as a scarf. Also, long underwear never hurts, and I always found it oddly sexy. (OK, TMI.)
Kelly Caleche edp for my flight to TX this afternoon. Quietly nice.
Oooh, LOVE Kelly Caleche EDP. It’s one of my office appropriate and elegant enough to go to a nice dinner / special event perfume.
A cozy day snowbound indoors with the lovely 31 Rue Cambon. I have a 200 ml bottle that I bought half full off the internet, and now it’s only a third full. Very easy wearing and highly recommended.
These huge bottles make no sense at all, but they are very pretty!
Just tried this for the first time last night — yes, lovely! but seemed mighty similar to Coromandel. hmm
You smell delightful!
I’m testing out a DIY thing today. I have been playing with natural materials a lot lately, and I got some isolates to try out. I got some alpha ionone isolate, and I had a sample of bitter almond oil, so the first thing I thought of was Lolita Lempicka. I wondered how it would translate to take those notes (violet, anise, vetiver, patchouli, almond, etc) and use natural materials. So I made a little experiment. It was fun, and I’ve been pretty happy wearing it today. Interestingly enough, now it smells like there’s immortelle in here, and there isn’t.
I love essential oils and I think all of us fume heads should at least play around with our favorites. You are actually figuring out how to make perfume and enjoying your experimentation. I am a little envious……
Fun! Good luck.
I sold a horse, to a good home, and took my proceeds and bought a bottle of Roja Dove Bergdorf. I wear it every day. I never wear something every day. I can’t get over its beauty and smoothness and femininity. I’ve never even been in the STORE, Bergdorf. I love everything about this, except the price, but I tell myself it’s worth it. It makes me truly happy. But, after cleaning up half frozen dog poop in the yard, I scrubbed myself and applied a sample I just got from the Winter Sample Set from Lucky Scent and am trying Christian Clive L for Women. And I have to say…meh. Can’t wait to shower off tonight and put more Bergdorf on…Sheesh.
I here the Roja Dove’s are bloody gorgeous but the price tag…..I would have to sell my sexy little mid-life crisis car and then ride my bicycle around! I am so glad you are enjoying your perfume! Scooping dog poop and cleaning up after and caring for horses requires a compensatory fragrance.
My scent of the day was Aedes Copal Azur. However, I got called down on my fragrance once again today at work. I have been told not to wear fragrance, however, I detect those fresh department store scents on lots of people and no one calls them down for it.
My co-workers and bosses are offended by my niche perfumes.
So I guess I will have to limit myself as to what colognes I can wear to work.
Can you ask them what they’re wearing?
I am sad for you! That just stinks – no pun intended! In all my years in the office, I have put up with coworkers who microwaved leftover fish DAILY, curry fanatics and people who actually spray air freshener in their cubes! To hear you can’t wear fragrence is awful. I hope you get to indulge to your heart’s content outside of work!
I guess the advantage of wearing perfume that smells like shampoo or fabric softener is that it smells like shampoo or fabric softener.
After yesterday’s experience, I just wanted something pretty — not challenging — today, so I went with Ormande Jayne Frangipani.
SOTD = I Profumi di Firenze Vaniglia del Madagascar
This wearing was inspired by Kindcrow. Wowee, this is GORGEOUS! Straightforward no non-sense vanilla and vanilla orchid. I think I just cured myself of needing Indult Tihota.
I’m starting to feel the need for a good vanilla. This one, and the Vanille Noire du Mexique mentioned above might be nice ones to begin with.
The MdV Vanille Givree des Antilles is nice, too, although more summery in feel than the VN.
🙂
Continuing with the theme of fragrances I’ve tried due to NST, my SOTD is Ormonde Jayne Ta’if, a sample of which I received in the Freebiemeet last year thanks to the charming and generous hajusuuri. It’s a very lovely rose, probably my favorite rose fragrance I’ve tried so far. (Amouage Lyric Woman seems to me to have a lot going on besides the rose.) I don’t know that I need a FB of a rose soliflore at this point in time, but if I did, it would be a contender.
