Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon Leaves ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 3 February 2015 9 Comments

Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon Leaves

British niche line Jo Loves has launched White Rose & Lemon Leaves, a new fragrance for spring.

‘Just like a piece of porcelain, there is something so delicate about holding a rose in the palm of your hand. White Rose & Lemon Leaves combines the fragility of this beautiful bloom together with the familiar scent intensity associated with rose. This fragrance represents my most treasured and memorable moments.’ Jo Malone MBE

Perfectly balanced with subtle strands of citrus and the softest cedarwood, this fresh, elegant Norma Jean white rose has a unique depth that increases as it warms and settles on the skin.

The notes include white rose oil, lemon peel, rose absolute, petitgrain, honey and amber.

Jo Loves White Rose & Lemon Leaves is available in 30 and 100 ml.

Rose, Lemon and Honey. Just me or is this an official challenge to her original Jo Malone’s Red Rose..

Could be, but I guess you’d have to smell them! So far, in general, it has not seemed much like she was trying to duplicate her previous line, but then, I have not smelled a single one of them.

I have smelled the first 4 of them. They are good but not fantastic. I think they lean towards her first line. I think the previous line has some great scents (the intense one) but many of them are so so. Her candles are fantastic, tho :) This could really be a hit or miss. I struggle to find some good rose perfumes (I know there is a few, that I like), so maybe this could be worth smelling. I just wish she would release them to a winder audience and not only UK (perhaps there is a few shops outside UK, that carries them, but I have no idea) :)

I have certainly not seen them in the US, and do not know what agreements she still has with Estee Lauder — perhaps she cannot use the name “Jo Loves” here.

This might be one for my friend, who was interested in discussing/buying JM’s Sweet Pea a couple of years ago, to try; I posted on here about it at the time & the fact the 2 SAs were too busy gushing over a rather well-heeled couple to even ask if we needed attention! Her shop is lovely, though – she just needs to sort out her staff. Her current fragrances are beautifully put together, I think, & true to her origins.

Hope she’ll like it then :-)

    Robin,
I think you and I were just mentioning the other day how we wish the line was available in the U.S. I bought the sample shot box about a year ago and paid a fortune for it to be shipped to the U.S. My favorites were The Flower Shop No. 42 and the Sweet Pea. I am so curious about this new scent. I wish I could try it. I wonder why her line isn’t available here. That makes me sad.

Those were my friend’s & my favourites too – we may try again & visit her shop in London during our annual December trip. Perhaps it might be worth contacting her direct & asking about availability in the USA? I’m pretty sure there are no UK stockists either – just the Elizabeth Street shop & her website. Time was when at least on of the major London department stores would have been interested, & also Liberty – alas no longer.

It is possible she can’t distribute it more widely (see my comment above) but also possible she just hasn’t made distribution arrangements until she gets herself established? No idea, I’m just guessing.
