Later this month, Folie à Plusieurs will launch La Haine, the fourth in their series of fragrances inspired by films being shown at Soho House in Berlin.
La Haine, the fourth scent under Le Cinema Olfactif project, explores the smell of hatred and events surrounding three youth from a banlieu (housing project) in Paris. Debuting on the 28th of January at Soho House Berlin, the scent is diffused at specific moments during the film screening and then offered to each viewer as a memory of the experience.
» A calm yet confrontational scent; mirroring the tension in La Haine that traces the contours of your neck like a sharp cold blade with bucchu sulphur, metallic bloody notes and cold aldehydes. There is a feeling that something is going to happen with burnt rubber, cold cedar notes creating a concrete effect, combined with birch tar, leather and bay oil. Dying out on a cold, damp cellar smell with cedar atlas, dark musk and moss, this is a contemplative scent. Dark gray, standing between the edge of the film’s black and white treatment and the social and political events diving France. « — Mark Buxton, Perfumer
Folie à Plusieurs La Haine will be available in 12 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.
