More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today's post includes collector items from Yves Saint Laurent, Thierry Mugler and Guerlain; plus new packaging from Estee Lauder.
From Yves Saint Laurent, the 2015 edition of Paris Premières Roses, decorated by Japanese artist Houxo Que. In 125 ml, due to launch in March. (via ladepeche.fr)
From Thierry Mugler, Angel in the "New Star" refillable bottle. 75 ml Eau de Parfum, $150 at Thierry Mugler USA.
From Guerlain, La Petite Robe Noire in limited edition packaging for Valentine's Day 2015 (really, I'm pretty sure this is just a limited edition outer box and nothing about the bottle has changed). In 50 ml Eau de Toilette, €71 at Nocibe in France.
From Estee Lauder, new standard packaging for the classic fragrance line. Now available at Dillards, $50 each for 50 ml: Aliage, Azuree, Beyond Paradise, Cinnabar, Estee, Intuition, Spellbound, Tuscany Pour Donna.
So that’s where all the EL fragrances have gone! I was browsing their site a few days back and when I couldn’t see any of these fragrances I thought “NO..They DID NOT just DISCONTINUE the whole lot”. Glad to see that they are still back. (But I really do hate these new bottles. No character and a cheap Modern Muse rip-off vibe… What a way to treat some classics… 🙁 )
Some are still there in the original bottles:

And so far have not seen this newer packaging anywhere but Dillards. But guessing it’s the future. Agree they have no character, but hard to believe EL has kept making all those scents in different bottles for all these years. Better than seeing them all discontinued, right?
I always go to EL perfumes and goods as gifts of choice. They have a good range (powders, lotions, creams, LE compacts..) and elegant. Seeing them gone will be very sad indeed.
Anything to keep them alive!
I can’t tell if that new Angel bottle is clever or hideous.
Ditto! I don’t buy Angel anyway but would like to see that one in person.
So, these EL bottles will be replacing the old ones? The do not have any character..the orginal Tuscany Per Donna bottle I really like..now it’s going to be in this plain ol’ square thing? And Cinnabar? Talk about generic packaging. But it is still better than disco’ing any of the scents. I am also wondering if the 3.4 oz sizes in these are being disco’d as well.
Well, I don’t know…I haven’t seen any press materials. So guessing yes, but just guessing.
Adding to the chorus of bottle-disappointment. The only one of these I like is Azuree, but Azuree belongs in its old-styled bottle! And though I don’t like Beyond Paradise, I always had to admit the bottle was a beauty…
And it was a perfect fit with the scent.
I like the YSL one.
Me too! Although will need to see it w/o the fancy background.
True! The background really makes it look fantastic! Doubt I will ever see this though…
I actually think the EL bottles are good news–they show a commitment to continuing to produce these scents. Maybe now Azuree won’t be kept under the counter, as if they’re hoping no one will buy it.
Agree — and they also didn’t turn them into a “luxe” series like YSL and Donna Karan and many others have done w/ their archives. I don’t love all these scents but have always appreciated the way EL does business.
I spoke to my rep.today and thank god they are not changing the original Private Collection bottle! She said these will have a new display and not be hidden lol.
I should add that White Linen and Knowing will keep their bottles too.
I love Knowing 🙂 Actually have a bottle coming next week!
That’s how I read it, too. Azuree and Aliage seemed on the verge of being discontinued, but now, new costumers will have a chance to see how fabulous they are.
