Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles (and some other stuff) 2014, part 15

Posted by Robin on 11 August 2014 12 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today's post includes special editions from Yves Saint Laurent and Donna Karan and new concentrations for Fendi L'Acquarossa, Cartier La Panthère and Chanel Coco Noir.

Yves Saint Laurent Supreme Bouquet Luxury Edition

From Yves Saint Laurent, the Luxury Edition of Supreme Bouquet: "The Glories of Gold and Travel; Captivating fragrance in the Oriental Collection, SUPREME BOUQUET is an ode to the refined mysteries of the Orient. Dressed up in the YVES SAINT LAURENT signature gold, SUPREME BOUQUET is even more luxurious and sophisticated. [...] Radiant, the bewitching fragrance glows with particles coated in genuine 24-karat gold. [...] The iconic Cassandre logo ornates the glass with the fine, gilded whorls of a moucharaby lattice screen. Like a jewel, the bottle is majestically set in a coordinated case evoking Haute Joallerie." In 80 ml Eau de Parfum, £250 at House of Fraser in the UK.

Donna Karan Breast Cancer Awareness coffret

From Donna Karan, a limited edition coffret: "For October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Donna Karan Cashmere Mist and Liquid Cashmere will be featured in a rollerball duo set (0.34 oz. each) with a pink ribbon–decorated cap and carton to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation." $45 at Bloomingdales.

Fendi L'Acquarossa Eau de Toilette

From Fendi, L'Acquarossa in a new Eau de Toilette concentration: "After the deep, imperial lacquer of L’Acquarossa Eau de Parfum, L’Acquarossa Eau de Toilette marks the burst of a fresh and vivid orange red. [...] An olfactory plunge into a fountain of fresh dawn, a sunny breeze of citrus adds zest to L’Acquarossa Eau de Toilette. The freshness is felt as of the top notes. Sicilian Red Orange gives sparkle to the Sicilian Mandarin and Calabrian bergamot, while Sichuan Pepper invigorates and brightens. The radiant accents of Lantana Flower, the star note in the L’Acquarossa family, bursts in the heart of the fragrance, heightened with accords of soft and fresh Peony and of elegant and feminine Violet. The base notes of Red Cedarwood and Musk bring a pure, woody tone." At Sephora in France, in 30, 50 and 75 ml. (quote via fendi)

Cartier La Panthère Extrait

From Cartier, La Panthère in a new Parfum concentration. With musk, gardenia and iris, 15 ml for €169 at Douglas in Germany.

Chanel Coco Noir Extrait

The new Parfum concentration of Chanel Coco Noir. The notes include grapefruit, bergamot, jasmine flowers, rose essence, daffodils, geranium, patchouli, vanilla, sandalwood, incense and white musk. In 15 ml, £165, due to launch this month (and there will also be a matching body cream).

I really like those Panthere bottles..hopefully, the new parfum concentration is better? I liked the last one but…missing something/falls flat sorta quickly. Want to try:).

Yeah, I find myself hoping Robin gives it a go to try to make up for her disappointment in the original she acquired!

Harder to find testers of extrait, though. I’ll pop into my Cartier boutique later in the year to see if they’ve got it, but NOT buying this one unsniffed!

Do like that bottle even better though.

The Coco Noir parfum bottle is beautiful also. I wonder if the scent is any better than the original (EDP I believe)?

I meant the original Coco Noir, not Coco itself which I am crazy about.

I doubt I’ll get to try it, but hope so, it’s way more expensive!

The Coco Noir would be the one I would want to try. I am on a Chanel kick lately!

Robin, I had a question about those Chanel parfums. Since you can’t really dab them on your neck without getting your skin on the dabber and putting it back in the bottle, and they say that messes up the scent, how are you supposed to use them? I might have to get that Chanel Coco Noir!

Aslo, that LA Panthere Extrait is BEAUTIFUL!!! I WANT IT!

I bet most people use the dabber and put it back in the bottle. Other options: decant 5 ml at a time into a smaller bottle. Use a lint-free cloth to wipe off the dabber.

I tested the Coco Noir extrait yesterday, it was very nice. Better than the edp for sure, although being parfum, not a lot of sillage or projection.
