Posted by Robin on 30 July 2014 8 Comments

Jill Stuart Crystal Bloom

Jill Stuart will launch Crystal Bloom, a new fragrance for women, in September.

A bouquet of flowers realize an instant that shines beautifully forever, providing the most translucent, lovely fragrance in the world.

Crystal Bloom was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel. The notes include sweet pea, snowdrop, neroli, orange, green notes, edelweiss, magnolia, rose, freesia, jasmine, raspberry, tutu accord,* fragrant olive, gardenia, ylang ylang, moss, cedar, musk and amber.

Jill Stuart Crystal Bloom will be available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

(via jillstuart-beauty)

* "The door to the base note is opened by the original Tutu Accord, bringing depth to the entire fragrance with a powdery, sweet veil, inviting you into a world of pure, unsullied sensations."

Tutu Accord? I read the description of it, so I get the point, but that name is too too precious. Ick.

Plus, Betsey Johnson might sue :-)

Poor Betsey! She really needs a better fragrance deal.

Are these sold outside of Asia? Not that I’m looking to buy one – tutu accord! – but the last time I remember JS being sold in the US it was around 2000.

There is still a Jill Stuart store in NYC, I think (?) and assume they sell the scents (?) but you’re right that they’re not widely distributed here — their big market seems to be Asia.

At first, I thought this was for Jil Sander, and I was so confused at how this fits in with her minimalist German aesthetic. Once I realized my mistake, I was able to move on to “tutu accord” – which sounds like some apartheid-era peace deal. Then, the real head scratching sets in when you realize they’re referring to fabric that goes around a dancer’s midsection. Hmm.

Ha…no, her next fragrance is “Simply Jil Sander”, which makes more sense.

Ha! I love your take on “Tutu Accord.”
