    My father has no sense of smell. When I was in JrHigh he had sinus surgery and it damaged the receptors. Later people would comment on how “naturally” thin he was. He told them food held little interest as it all tasted the same to him. It was very depressing and he would sometimes comment on missing certain smells like fresh coffee.

      What a shame! I was always fascinated by the Shangri-La diet, which partially involves clipping the nose while eating.
