Jo Malone will launch Wood Sage & Sea Salt, a new limited edition fragrance inspired by the British coast, in September. The most recent launch from the brand was Silk Blossom.
Wood Sage & Sea Salt was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel. The notes include ambrette seeds, sea salt, sage, grapefruit and red algae.
Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt will be available in 30 and 100 ml Cologne.

Wow, I’m actually really excited about a Jo Malone. But, let’s not get my hopes too up. Haha. ^_^
I’ve been disappointed in most of them lately. But this really does sound nice, and it’s NOT an aquatic which is good news for me.
Yep, of the gazillion they have, I only want 3. Haha. I really want this one to be #4. Me loves me some sea salt, and me loves me some grapefruit. And algae! A note/scent I have yet to experience. So curious. ^_^
It sounds similar to the Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel but that’s a good thing in my book. Will actually seek this out when it’s released which I haven’t done for a Jo Malone for years.
That’s just what I was thinking! It would be nice to have a more easily attainable and cheaper version of Fleurs de Sel.
Could be…guessing this will be lighter, but who knows.
Robin, you already know what I’m going to say. JM is my favorite, so of course I want it. I will admit, at first I was thinking I wasn’t sure about some of these notes, but I think the grapefruit saved it for me. It’s gonna give it that “freshness” that I love so much from Jo Malone. 🙂
Hope you will love it!
This sounds lovely. But I know I need to keep my expectations in check given the majority of their new releases over the last five or so years. I’m also hesitant after seeing the perfumer is Christine Nagel. No disrespect to her, I’ve been able to appreciate many of her scents, but none of them have ever quite done it for me. I think we just lack chemistry.
Same here, been ages since I loved anything from JM. I do like Christine Nagel, but I assume she is giving them exactly what they want…
Don’t they release too much things lately?
I agree. It kind a turns me off. It’s as if they don’t take perfume creation seriously. Being owned by Estee Lauder now probably means money is no object and they can just throw one after another out there and if one “sticks” they’re happy.
I do like the sound of this one, however!
oops. I was responding to lucasai 😉
Not that interested in this line anymore..it seems more about quantity not quality..these notes do sound a bit interesting but not going out of my way. I only have liked a couple from this line..but no loves.
Just adding that I don’t like the pic for the perfume. The outfit doesn’t seem to mesh with the surroundings..just me though.
Sounds interesting. Who signed off on the photo. Too much cardigan , me thinks.
I don’t want to jinx it but knowing Jo Malone, I have a feeling this is going to be very green and sage is going to take centre stage.
With that layering concept going on, I can see them match this with their Lime, Basil and Mandarin and that pretty much gives the impression of how “impressive” this is going to smell…
IMO there really hasn’t been much worthy LE launches since the English Garden (they need to make the Peony and Moss permanent).
It sounds interesting but the ambrette seed note could be an issue. I often find ambrette seed if not done in moderation to be very bitter.
I agree that the JM line has gone downhill with the absence of Jo Malone herself. Bring back Vintage Gardenia for heaven’s sake and stop with all of these constant “meh” and often very generic releases! 🙁
It sounds blackberry & bay-ish given the September launch and the fruity green with moisture in the air.
