Victoria’s Secret Bombshells in Bloom, Body by Victoria & Pink Vacay ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 14 February 2014 9 Comments

Victoria's Secret Bombshells in Bloom Eau de Parfum and solid perfume ring

Victoria's Secret has launched Bombshells in Bloom, Body by Victoria and Pink Vacay, three new fragrances for women. Other recent scents from Victoria's Secret include Forbidden.

Bombshells in Bloom ~ a flanker (the ninth, I think) to 2010′s Bombshell perfume. "A whimsical spring fling that lingers: Bombshells in Bloom is the fresh new version of our award-winning fragrance with crisp, floral notes that are bound to keep you sexy today, sexy tomorrow and sexy forever. This floral fragrance wraps the skin in a flirty blend of pink freesia, red apple and water lily." In 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum ($52/$68), 250 ml Body Mist ($25), solid perfume fragrance ring ($35) or in matching body products.

Victoria's Secret Body by Victoria

Body by Victoria ~ they are calling this new, but it might be just a repackaging of the 2012 Body by Victoria. "Treat the body you love to a refreshing new scent from the iconic Body By Victoria namesake collection. With luminary notes, this intimate and airy fragrance now comes in a gorgeous bow-adorned bottle. One of our most sought-after and loved fragrances, this scent dresses the skin in a fresh blend of crushed leaves, freesia and water hyacinth." In 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum ($52/$68), 250 ml Body Mist ($25).

Victoria's Secret Pink Vacay

Pink Vacay ~ "This limited-edition fragrance is beachy and warm—paradise in a bottle. This spring break-perfect scent refreshes your skin with a blend of raspberry blossom, passion flower and sugared vanilla." In 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $47.

These sound banal at best. And VACAY? Inner curmudgeon snarls and shudders and slinks back to work.

The Pink line is geared even younger than the regular VS line — tweens, probably.

Vacay is a horrible horrible name. And yes, Pink is geared toward tweens (one of which I have in my house, and yes, she wants stuff from Pink while I find the whole thing appalling).

Future fragrances releases from the line will include Selfie, Cray-Cray, and Amazeballs.

Ha — I would buy Pink Amazeballs — who could resist??

I probably shouldn’t mention that “vacay” reminds me of “v-jay-jay”. And while “amazeballs” sounds like a terrific cheese-based appie of some sort it definitely does not sound like any perfume I would want to buy…

Adding — why are Victoria’s Secret perfumes so expensive? Aren’t they basically poured from the B&BW vats into somewhat fancier bottles?

I assume they know what the market will bear, and that’s what they charge? Agree, the prices are not what you’d expect from a mall chain that churns out that many perfumes a year.

The release of Body by Victoria is a repackage of a different perfume (http://www.perfumeemporium.com/perfume/12766/Body-Victoria-Secret)… Apparently also known as “The Fragrance” because that’s what the box read. lol I can’t believe they’re raising the price on this… went from $49 for 3.4oz to $68… YIKES! :(
