Richard E Grant Jack ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 6 February 2014 10 Comments

Richard E Grant Jack perfume

Actor Richard E Grant will launch Jack, his debut fragrance, in April. The unisex scent was named for the Union Jack, and comes in a "vintage-style Union Jack bag" inside the outer box.

Jack was developed by perfumer Aliénor Massenet. The notes include lime, marijuana, mandarin, pepper, clove, nutmeg, frankincense, oud, tobacco absolute, vetiver and white musk.

I will update with sizes & whatnot when I can. Jack is expected to debut at Liberty, and to be sold online as well at its dedicated website, Jack Perfume (where you can also read a two-part story of its development).

(via vogue.co.uk)

Update: Jack is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in a matching candle.

Why did I think it was going to be a honking big tuberose?

The picture from GQ showed him sniffing gardenias, maybe that’s it?

Marijuana is not a note I’d wanna smell like. It’s just funky.

Usually doesn’t turn out that way in perfume.

Oh my — there aren’t many celebrities I think would make interesting perfumes, but Grant could be a Second Cumming!

I just now read about the launch of Mr. Grant’s perfume in today’s Guardian. It sounds delightful. As a lover of chypre notes and scents, I have to believe that this one will also be green and yet woodsy. Please may there be no overabundance of musk! The marijuana addition is pure brilliance. Richard E. Grant is Brilliant. I wish him all best luck in this new turn in his career and must now save my pennies to buy this – as soon as possible.
