George Takei Eau My ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 27 November 2013 15 Comments

George Takei Eau My

Actor George Takei, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu on Star Trek, will launch his debut fragrance, Eau My, in December. Eau My was made under licensing arrangements with Tru Fragrance & Beauty, and follows other Star Trek-related fragrances made by Genki Wear, including Shirtless Kirk and Sulu.*

Set Phasers to Stunning. Eau My is a clean, refreshing fragrance for Men and Women. Subtle and charming, with top notes of mandarin zest, Italian bergamot and fresh ozone transitioning to night-blooming jasmine, white freesia petals and grated ginger. Sensual woods, crystalized amber, soft skin musk, and vetiver will delight you when dry.

George Takei Eau My will be available in 50 ml Cologne.

(via shop.trufragrance, hat tip to Anna!)

* Genki Wear was later purchased by Palm Beach Beaute. Shirtless Kirk appears to be sold out, but you can still buy Sulu.

I love that this is like the only ad copy ever to acknowledge that you need to allow drying time when spraying on perfume!

And what’s even better is that I’m sure that’s not what they meant.

        I know, right?:).
Musk, ozone and freesia, I agree with Eric down there that it makes me take a step back.

The Trek geek in me who’s had a crush on Takei since she was six is chortling and rubbing her hands in glee like some overplayed OS villian right now.

I sort of wish I’d bought Shirtless Kirk when it was still around. That one said Set Phasers to Stun right on the bottle.

Gotta give it to George, he’s got such a nice spirit.
I really hope this turns out to be a decent commercial success so he may use it towards more charitable causes and to his commitment to human rights.
Reading the words ozone, freesia and soft skin musks made my skin crawl a bit though.
    🙂

Love Mr. Takei so much, and have so much respect for what he does. I’m going to have to try this! (I can’t be the only person here who would actually wear this. At least in summer. 🙂 )

Love Mr Takei and this is hilarious. I do wish I could experience Shirtless Kirk – my darling husband does a fab Kirk impersonation!!

Why is there no Uhura – smell of freedom? Or Red Shirt No Name? Or Fat Scottish Engineer? Etat Libre I look to you for these omissions to be corrected.

There was a Red Shirt fragrance! Don’t know if there still is.

Ha! I heard about this on the radio this morning, and I almost sent you a link, Robin! So glad you’re doing your part to educate the masses on this hilarious–I mean highly important!–addition to the perfume world! 😀

My inner Trek geek is rubbing her hands gleefully at this, while my perfumista heart is wishing that they had designed a better fragrance for Sulu. If I were in charge, hmmm. A metallic base, overlaid with cherry blossom, and deer musk.

Metal for his swords, cherry blossom for Asia, and deer musk for the critters that ravage the gardens of the San Francisco area.
