Up for grabs: Jean Patou Joy Forever

Posted by Robin on 3 October 2013 88 Comments — Comments are closed

Jean Patou Joy Forever

What is it: a 50 ml bottle of Jean Patou Joy Forever, used for testing — it is about 95% full.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. Then tell me either a) your favorite Jean Patou fragrance or b) your favorite flanker to a classic fragrance or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!

The contest will be open until noon or so on Monday, and I'll announce the winner on Tuesday.

The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.

Oh dear lord. I really want to win this.

I live in the US. My favorite flanker to a classic fragrance thus far is probably No. 5 Eau Premiere.

Oh, I’d like to win this too! Original Joy is a bit much for me but I’m in the market for a quieter floral. Probably my favorite flanker is Tom Ford’s Youth Dew Amber Nude. I’m in the US.

I’m in the US, and I have a small bottle of vintage Joy extrait that I love.

Faves? Tough!!, but Joy parfum and 1000 are still IT for me!! And we are R.O.C.K. in on the USA!! 🙂

I live in the US! My favorite Patou fragrance is Sira des Indes, which is one of the few sophisticated fragrances in my collection. I just finished my bottle though! I had it for like 5 years, so it will definitely be missed. Thanks for the chance! : )

  6. bastet says:
    3 October 2013 at 12:34 pm

I live in the U.S. and the only Patou fragrance I’ve ever tried is the original Joy. I would love to try this variation.

My favorite flanker to a classic fragrance is Esprit d’Oscar, if Oscar counts as a classic, or maybe Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere (no one could argue No. 5’s status as a classic).

  7. sweetgrass says:
    3 October 2013 at 12:50 pm

I live in the US and of course you can use my email.

The only Patou fragrances I’ve tried so far are Joy and Eau de 1000, of which my favorite was Joy. Favorite flanker is probably Shalimar Parfum Initial.

I live in the US. I have a vintage JOY fragrance, and smell it out of the bottle but never wear. I’d love to win this one to actually wear it!

  9. Sharyl says:
    3 October 2013 at 12:59 pm

I would love to enter this drawing and have my fingers firmly crossed!

My favorite Patou fragrance is plain old Joy, though I recently smelled 1000 and liked it quite a bit.

I live in the US, and you can use my email address.

I live in the U.S., and my favorite flanker to a classic fragrance is Eau Premiere. Own & like Joy, but wear very rarely!

Hi Robin! I live in the US. Angela’s review of this was beautiful the other day and made me want to try it, although I am ashamed to admit I have not ever smelled the original Joy. I am still relatively new to fragrance, and the classics are so intimidating as a new perfumista! Like bastet, I love No.5 Eau Premiere.

  12. sarcon says:
    3 October 2013 at 1:24 pm

I live in the US. I remember really liking 1000 – that osmanthus! Joy is wonderful too, of course.

  13. relleric says:
    3 October 2013 at 1:25 pm

I live in the US. Favorite Patou is Pour Homme, looking forward to trying the reformulation if it ever gets to the US.

  14. mutzi says:
    3 October 2013 at 1:28 pm

I live in the U.S. and my favorite Patou’s are Joy and 1000 (especially in the parfum versions). My favorite flanker is Black Orchid Voile de Fleur, but I love the original Black Orchid more.

  15. libberation says:
    3 October 2013 at 1:51 pm

I live in the US! I haven’t had a chance to smell any jean patou yet in my sniffing adventures tho a sample set is waiting for payday in my cart over at surrender to chance. I rather love coco mlle. It was the first fragrance I bought myself as an adult.

  16. eliza says:
    3 October 2013 at 1:51 pm

I lucked out and found a box of Patou Ma Collection minis. I LOVE all of them. Would greatly like to try Joy Forever! Oh, and I live in the US

    Favorite Patou – 1000!

  21. Fernando says:
    3 October 2013 at 3:04 pm

I live in the US. I don’t know that I’ve seriously given attention to either Joy or 1000, so I don’t think I have a favorite Patou. And flankers don’t usually make the grade for me… though if Tocadilly counts as a flanker to Tocade I’d vote for that one.

  22. ElDubbleU says:
    3 October 2013 at 3:13 pm

    I live in the US!!!!

I cringe to admit it to a room full of true perfumistas, but my favorite flanker is Dior Hypnotic Poison – I actually like it better than original Poison. I like the red bottle, I love the juice, and every time I wear it men literally say, ‘Mmmmmm, what are you wearing?” I don’t wear it for men, though I wear it for me.

  23. jordysmom says:

  30. yukiej says:
    3 October 2013 at 4:15 pm

I live in the US, and I have not tried any Patou perfumes, but I secretly think I might love many of them (especially Joy and 1000). I also haven’t tried very many flankers to classic perfumes except for Declaration d’un soir. I did not like it better than the original, though.

  31. Marjorie Rose says:
    3 October 2013 at 4:17 pm

I live in the US. I don’t have big love for any flankers I can recall, but Eau Primiere is nice enough that if it landed in my lap, I’d happily wear it.

I live in the U.S. I’m dying to try this, having had no luck with Patous so far but being intrigued by the notes. My favorite flanker is Bottega Veneta Eau Legere, which I like even more than the original – and I liked the original!

  33. Sydscents says:

I live in the US. I don’t think I have a favorite flanker or a favorite Jean Patou, really. However, I am housesitting right now and there is a rather old bottle of Eau de Joy in the bathroom cabinet. I haven’t been able to find out much about this. Too bad – I sniffed it, and it’s a glorious jasmine. Lovely!
