Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles 2013, part 19

Posted by Robin on 26 September 2013 13 Comments

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US.

Thierry Mugler Angel Black Brilliant Star

From Thierry Mugler, the Angel Black Brilliant Star: "A rousing round of applause for this dramatic star, encrusted with shimmering Swarovski crystals. Designed to protect your precious Angel eau de parfum refillable shooting star spray by Thierry Mugler, it is a celebration of spectacular style and dazzling drama." In 25 ml Eau de Parfum, £56 at Selfridges in the UK.

Carolina Herrera CH Pink Wish collector

From Carolina Herrera, CH Pink Wish, the second in a series of limited edition fragrances for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of the proceeds will benefit several breast cancer related charities. In 100 ml Eau de Toilette, with notes of bergamot, lemon, rose, jasmine, praline, cinnamon, sandalwood, cedar, cashmere, patchouli, amber and musk. (via lamasatonline.net)

Boucheron Pour Femme limited edition

Boucheron Pour Femme in limited edition packaging celebratings its 25th anniversary. In 100 ml Eau de Parfum. (via fashionmonitor)

Estee Lauder Harrods Christmas Bear

From Estee Lauder, the Harrods Christmas Bear compact: "Wrapped in a cheery winter sweater, this bear is the perfect way to celebrate the season. Open the compact to find Beautiful in long-lasting solid perfume." £170 at Harrods.

Ralph Lauren Romance 15th anniversary edition

From Ralph Lauren, Romance in a special edition for the scent's 15th anniversary: "Adorned with a crystal-inspired cap, this bottle is grander than the classic design and comes encased in a feminine keepsake box." $95 for 150 ml Eau de Parfum at Dillard's.

Kinda like the black star but don’t care for Angel. Why are the EL compacts sooo expensive? I really don’t get it.

I have no idea — I do like some of them, but they never look that expensive in person.

I don’t either other than they are a hot collectable. I have a friend who collects them (over 100) and it’s not the perfume it’s just a packaging. I think they look sort of cheesy in person but god I would never tell her that! She keeps them in a curio just for display, I don’t think she’s ever used the solid scent.

Wonder if they have actual resale value…

Honestly, they look like something Avon would put out for 20 bucks or something.

“Crystal-inspired”? Would that be Swarovski crystal-inspired?

“Crystal-inspired cap” sounds like a plastic cap to me 🙂 Or perhaps a glass cap that isn’t lead glass?

It really is comical that they felt it would be a selling point to tell us it has a plastic cap, like every other fragrance.
