Cumin has me take a step back, other than that, sounds interesting.

Kind of does. The PB is too big at this point, IMHO.

The new London store opened on Monday this week – no sign of the new Private Blend though…

Was a soft opening on Monday, im sure theyll have a proper splashy celebrity-fuelled launch soon.

Top notes of black pepper oil Madagascar, saffron, cardamom absolute, coriander seed, cumin oil and coffee oil. Heart notes feature Geranium Egypt and jasmine absolute, incense, and cistus oil from Spain, Base notes include oud and Tonkin musk, birch tar oil, cedarwood Atlas, and torchwood from the Dominican Republic.

    Thats a lot going on!!

Apparently the stores ‘official’ opening is September 1st so the fragrance will launch in the store early September

I would love to have a lot of the private blends in my collection, but i havent forked out the dough for a single one yet.

Not a single one of these notes reminds me of “London”. I liked the last ·(non-private blend) release Sahara.
Also am very fond of a discontinued Private Blend “Mossy Breach”

My friends who did study abroad over there said that the best restaurants were Indian places–the notes might invoke that? (I know, it’s a stretch!)

London is very multicultural and Indian (but not only Indian) presence extends past restaurants.
Anyway, I don’t see why a list of notes needs to be literal, especially for a large urban environment with millions of people and several boroughs which have almost nothing in common with each other.

I did not mean to suggest that the multicultural influences of London were somehow limited to Indian restaurants, merely that the list of notes, which are quite gourmande, seem reminiscent of that sort of cuisine.

I loved Moss Breches too. Damn them for dropping that one.

Well, I like most of the Private Blend collection that I’ve tried and this is basically a dream list of notes for me so I think it sounds great!

I LOVE The Private Bland Scents… Hell…. I LOVE ALL TF Scents… I think they are all Masterpieces… some more so than others of course, but on the whole… All BRILLIANT!

Almost splurged on Neroli Portofino yesterday but found a lone bottle of Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli and bought it unsniffed. $60 is a much different commitment than $200+. Also worried the TF is too linear for that much money. We’ll see if I need to go back to NM.
